I like the sound of adding semitones, and now that there is an F5 keybind, I see no reason for there not to be (unless it would be too much effort to recreate the sounds on certain note pitches).
Also, any addition of new instruments is a plus in my book, though I expect them to be more Tyria-themed.
There is also an organ somewhere in Tyria (I forget where, perhaps Ebonhawke) which would be a treat if it were playable and adjustable.
In regard to new legendaries, there is a whole new set of them coming with Heart of Thorns.
As to the idea of combining the cosmetic of legendaries, it’s an interesting thought that could add some optional further cosmetic progression. The main problem is that most, if not all, of the skins are built in their own style and were not intended to be “fused” with other skins. Therefore it would take up more resources than are needed to create new skins that fuse the styles of the original skins together.
Almost certainly, even if it is a rehash of last years event (which was also a rehash of the year preceding last year) there will be a Halloween event.
It’s a staple feature in almost every MMO, and I’m surprised they are not an aspect of GW2, especially with the wide range of uses they could have such as announcing the arrival of world bosses, or ongoing events and so on.
It is an aspect of GW2 though, world announcements are used preceding new updates to the game. During certain Living World Season 1 events such as the “Clockwork Chaos Invasions” a world message appeared when one region of Tyria was under attack.
Boss events spawn every 15 minutes. Having text suddenly pop up every 15 minutes might become incredibly annoying. Though, you did mention the option to toggle, so that should definitely be an option if a feature like this were ever implemented.
An alternative option to something like this was an in-game boss timer, as opposed to players manually pulling up a boss timer from the internet. If a boss timer was part of the Hero Panel somewhere, then players could look over it at their leisure and still know when each world boss was due to spawn, rather than having text pop up for everyone.
As there will only be one elite specialization for now, we won’t know until Anet eventually unveil the second generation of elite specializations. And no, it hasn’t been stated anywhere as of yet (as far as I have read).
I would hazard a guess that it should be possible, but that is just speculation until we get to a later expansion some point in the future.
Very likely it is a permanent addition, mostly as the achievement associated with it that are in the Tradesman category as opposed to the Living World category (the latter of which was usually the place for temporary achievements).
Well, I noticed gamestop sells the digital delux edition which would be fine but I have never bought anything digital from Gamestop before and it kinda makes me worry….. I prefer hardcopies but I could get some gamestop cards and buy the gamestop version. I don’t use credit cards.
I think the Gamestop editions are download only, at least from the ones I found here. Its download information from that page reads:
“Games can be downloaded directly to your PC. After purchase, you will receive a confirmation email with instructions on how to download and install the game.”
It does also seem quite helpful in how to download it from there in case your connection is lost during the download and such, so there shouldn’t be any worry about downloading from there if you wish.
I am not a US resident, so I’m afraid I don’t know of any retailers over there that sell hard copies, so I hope that someone else on these forums will help you out in that regard. I am quite positive you have two or more months at the least to found a retailer that sells a physical copy.
Most official retailers have hard copies available, one I know for a fact has a hard copy is Amazon UK, and I suspect expect Amazon US will also have one available, but it might take a little searching.
Just make sure when you are ordering through retailers that it doesn’t say “online serial code”, as I reckon that will only supply you with the code, and not a physical case.

Hi all,
I’ve been looking but I couldn’t find it -
When is the release date?
I’m just curious as I want to set aside money for it, so I’m just curious when it’s going to be out so I can plan accordingly.
Thanks
Also, have a skim through this thread for the large discussion on the release date, that I will likely expect this thread to merge with soon.
“Victor of RNG”
“Most Valuable Account To Hack”
“San Frantyrian Gambler”
“Pixel Devourer”
“Purple Appreciator”
“I Could Have Bought Fifty Precursors”
“Gambling > Giving To The Lion’s Arch Homeless” (Probably have the “>” the wrong way)
“I Challenge You To A Game Of Risk”
“I Like Big Globs And I Cannot Lie”
Okay, so I got a little carried away.
I agree.
Although, I think there should be the option for both, and have 2 separate skins; one with the disk on one shoulder, and one that has both.
It is one of the reasons I am not too keen on the ascended set for medium armour, nor Kasmeer’s outfit.
Thanks, then if someone new will buy HoT, then that person will get standard Gw2 and expansion yes?
Correct, as long as they are buying from the GW2 website or from the updated list of sellers such as Amazon, as there are still some copies of solely the base game out there in retailers.
1 – Will it go beyond DX9?
2 – Would it survive by remaining DX9?
3 – Windows 10 coming out in 2 day is Direct 12 encluded.
4 – How high should the next X Pack go without looking kitten?
1 – That is up to Anet to decide. If they find that spending resources there will benefit them more than take away, they are more likely to do it. Otherwise, the game still looks brilliant graphical wise, and so an update to DirectX may not be necessary.
2 – Yes.
3 – Included in Windows 10? Or for GW2? If the latter, no.
4 – I don’t know about you, but the upcoming maps look pretty dang impressive and beautiful, without any upgrade to higher DirectX. I’ve played a couple of other MMO’s that don’t look nearly as sharp as GW2, even with higher DirectX enabled.
Generally, most music will play in each zone, there isn’t really any map zone specific music as far as I know (except for the newer zones like Dry Top and The Silverwastes). It is effectively RNG for which music will play as you travel across each zone.
However, there is other music that is specific for instances (dungeons, Living World etc) and custscenes (especially for content added after release), and a full list of additional soundtracks can be found here.
Doesn’t Dulfy upload it on their own channel?
Yes they do, and actually that is already up if the OP wants to watch it. You can find it here on youtube.
They usually upload the footage on the Friday, or in some cases the Saturday or Sunday afterwards. As it is only Saturday, expect it some time today or tomorrow.
So in short, it will be uploaded when it is ready.
The option is coming with Heart of Thorns. The addition of Guild Halls will bring with it an arena which will allow for guilds to battle it out against each other, in large or small groups.
Have a read here:
“Next, Josh, Jessica, and Jon went over some of the changes guild halls are bringing to Player vs. Player. Players will be able to build a guild arena in their hall and customize it to their liking by placing decorations—some of them more lethal than others. Obstacles that can be added to the arena include turrets, line-of-sight-blocking pillars, and lava pits. You can even set the rules to determine whether or not players can be knocked off the side of the arena to their deaths.
While the final number of players allowed in the arena hasn’t been nailed down, it’s currently possible to have forces as large as twenty or thirty doing battle at one time."

Specializations are just traits. They simply renamed them in order to better allow them to add new trait lines (or new ‘specializations’ which they call ‘elite specializations’) for end-game progression for each profession.
Also make sure you aren’t in F12 mode which removes all of your HUD information, including the ‘Skip Cinematic’ button during some cinematics and all vistas.
There is a fee for every time you drop one to activate another.
That fee is 50 silver every time you wish to change one crafting profession to another. So as to whether you are willing to spend that for the convenience of staying on one character is up to your in-game wallet.
I’d like to see something like the attached, gives people one more reason for kicking in dungeons.
Right now, all piercing projectiles can only pierce 5 targets.
That makes them not better than AoE attacks.
I’m not sure what you mean by that. AoE skills also only go up to a maximum of 5 targets per strike and can be blocked or negated through invulnerability.
Pierce should be as on par to AoE skills as possible, so increasing the cap might make pierce skills too powerful, particularly in WvW large zergs or similar content that can have several enemies clumped together.
Therefore, I think pierce skills are fine where they are.
Generally, account bound crafting has come up numerous times throughout the years:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/archive/crafting/Should-crafting-be-account-bound
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/archive/crafting/Account-bound-crafted-items-is-a-great-idea
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/archive/crafting/Please-Account-bound-Crafting
Although, the idea to have the number of possible current crafting professions active still remain at 2 and each players has to purchase the others through the gem store is not a bad idea, and one that might incentivize Anet to consider this – but then it could also backfire, as fewer crafting licenses would have to be bought if they were account bound.
A difficult suggestion, but it would be nice if something could be done.
Aye, I went through my personal story on another character just yesterday and it was good fun to roam around the old Lion’s Arch, even with some boundary restrictions. Ah, I miss afk’ing at that great toilet and reading LA map banter.
It would be nice, but it has been suggested time and time again and nothing has been done so far, so it is very likely not on the devs’ table.
For previous threads with the same suggestion:

Aaaaand hiding behind the rock, here
I presume you mean the Buried Locked Chests from Dry Top as opposed to the Bandit Locked Chests from the Silverwastes?
If so, I agree that there should have been some method of acquiring one for the home instance (especially as it was available for the Silverwaste-specific chest) as I too have more zephyrite keys than I can manage.
Although, I can’t help but feel it is too late, as the content production for Dry Top has reached its end (as far as I know, I doubt they will be expanding that map again) so the possibility of having something newly introduced that is a reward from it seems unlikely, but not impossible.
One can hope.
“We’re all focused on expansion – both the announced details, and the un-announced details and simply can’t peel anyone off a team to work on it right now without it effecting expac. The two SAB worlds we’ve seen will return as we’ve said before, but simply put our focus right now is on making the expansion amazing”
I should also point out the Canis Majoris of a thread about SAB which this thread will ultimately merge with.
And what if I don’t want to use Ice Bow? Oh wait I have to because it’s that overpowered.
You don’t have to; the most recent June patch especially introduced a plethora of new build variations for each class (of course, as to whether players explore those is up to them, but they are out there) including one insane elementalist build from WoodenPotatoes which does not include the Ice Bow.
I regularly run without Ice Bow in order to help with blasting fire fields for might on World Bosses. Or for being part of a condi team for the Triple Trouble. Or for more support in WvW smaller groups.
You don’t have to equip it. It is your perception for the lack of build variations that makes you think you have to.
Their reasoning in the livestream as to why they didn’t nerf it, and did instead buff it, was because they didn’t want it to become an obsolete skill like many others (as far as I can remember).
Remember, the Ice Bow also gives condition duration which contributes to outgoing damage, so it is, in part, also intended to be a damaging weapon.
I’m all too aware that the Box is down for the foreseeable future :/ I just don’t understand why the external content has to be disabled for no reason.
Well, there is a very slim chance we might see it return outside of the whole SAB returning. Mainly as the tri-key chest returned with the revamped Lion’s Arch for those that still had some tri-keys left over from Season 1 of the Living World from well over a year ago. So there is some possibility, but it is small.
Very recently a thread arose talking about this topic. Effectively, they are a finite resource as you can no longer obtain them as far as I know, so the price will keep rising. I do recommend you read the thread I have linked above, as it gives answers better than I can say.
You’re not the first to request this, nor will you be the last.
See here, here and here for previous identical requests, some very recent.
I suspect we won’t be getting the vendor until SAB itself returns as a whole, and the answer to that is no time soon.
I’m in the same boat as Miku; I have a great deal of fun in PvE. Being part of a guild that organizes Triple Trouble is always good fun and is very sociable – challenging but a fun challenge.
Although, with that said I do also have a lot of fun in WvW as well. PvP, not so much mainly from the toxic players and chat (though I usually hide the chat window whenever I do venture there).
I cant understand sorry for my english
Just in the off chance you are either French, Spanish or German, there are three other forums that are catered for those languages as opposed to English.
French Forum = Here
German Forum = Here
Spanish Forum = Here
Otherwise, it is best if you stick to one thread if you can. Starting multiple threads on similar topics is not entirely needed.
Why did you create a new thread when you already had one open that answered your question perfectly?
Patches don’t come definitively every two weeks from a Tuesday. And no, they haven’t abandoned the “every other Tuesday patch”.
No.
Season 2 has to be purchased separately through the gem store for 200 or 250 gems (I forget) per episode (or bundled for a cheaper price). If you bought the ultimate edition, you can use the 4,000 gems to purchase Season 2 if you don’t already have it.
I’m amazed at how many people don’t understand what the OP is asking for.
One must also consider the potential confusion it would cause to new players (yes, it would cause it); having one profession’s weapon swap be available in-combat, in PvP, out of combat, everywhere. But then another profession’s weapon swap solely for out of combat convenience.
We have seen them do some polls before (preceding Lion’s Arch re-decoration) but as to whether they can bring that functionality to the forums, well, we won’t know until Anet say something.
Otherwise, I think it would work nicely, although some forum posters might use it as another means of ‘rebelling’ against Anet’s decisions by putting hyperbolic polls against every new feature Anet reveal.
But as a tool for gathering a quick pool of answers from the players, it might work (albeit a little biased as only those who use the forums would voice their vote) so perhaps an in-game poll functionality as well? Some food for thought.
Do your 3 dailies each day; after completing the three dailies, you will be rewarded with 3 spirit shards. Also, champion bags have a good chance of dropping them, so perhaps Silverwastes chest farm, or other methods of getting champion bags. They do also rarely drop from some mobs (often random dungeon mobs, I forget which, but I have seen them drop) so possibly there as well.
I would reckon the best method is through champion bags.
I disagree.
Engineers have several kits to change into, elementalists have several attunements to change into, I don’t see the need for a weapon swap, especially if it will not be available for PvP. Even if for convenience, the fact these two professions cannot weapon swap is part of their mechanics.
What I do see the need for possible though, is perhaps an out of combat reduction in the cooldown for swapping attunements with the elementalist. Perhaps making the cooldown 5 seconds as opposed to what it is now.

Honestly this isn’t my type of game anyways(Darkfall online is my cup of tea[not unholywars]) I was just hoping the game became more sandboxish with more skillful elements. I’ll still log in, but I doubt it will hold my interest. Being in Mmolimbo has left be jaded, cynical and desperate.
Well, Guild Halls are coming with the expansion, and from what we have seen so far, they seem to incorporate some form of sandbox elements; I believe you will be able to customize the hall to your liking, placing items you discover wherever you desire and decorate it to your liking, as well as all of the other mechanics that come with it, such as the customizable arena where you can duel enemies 1 on 1, or in teams against other guilds or groups of players.
Otherwise, I hope you manage to find an MMO that suits your tastes, whether it be Guild Wars 2, Darkfall or something else.
Is this purely RNG loving him and hating me
It is.
Also, don’t believe everything you hear, it is quite likely your friend only received one Spark and linked it three times throughout those weeks to spite you and make you feel worse for wear. One possibility, unless he showed you a screenshot of three separate Sparks.

Not going to happen.
As they are in such abundance, they will never be able to be sold for currency, especially 1 gold per stack. As krall already stated, there are 3 consumers available for each of the 3 items which yield random items each day (not always useful items mind you, but it uses them up slowly nonetheless).
Wow so it seems like they made the game even more casual and less skillful and decided to take out any meaningful rewards like free and automatic fort upgrades…
So I might as well just stop the download of the game now? What is Anet thinking?
I wouldn’t make your decision solely based on that fact. The fort change was only something we’ve heard on paper; we have not seen it in any beta event yet (as far as I know) so we don’t know if it is final or how it will work.
The Living World released its second season, which is permanent content more focused around story than mass zerg events like Season 1. You can take a look at the bulk of the releases here if you wish.
Otherwise, there have been a lot of additions, including two feature packs and a massive trait update to specializations in June this year. There are hefty patch notes which detail all of the changes, but there are too many for me to list here.
In short:
-Living World Season 1 (Temporary content, the bulk of which is no longer available)
-Living World Season 2 (All currently available, 8 chapters, introduced 2 maps: Dry Top and the Silverwastes which are free and don’t require the season to be unlocked to play).
-2 feature packs; you can read about them here as they introduced to many new changes, mostly focused around the new player experience and traits (the trait changes which are now obsolete with the June 2015 update)
-One major trait update in June 2015 which vastly changed classes in preparation for the expansion
There are so many more, but that is the basics.
Edit: WvW will be changing considerably with the expansion, including an update to the way forts upgrade (they will be free and automatic). As to whether the new upgrade system makes guilds become more focused on defending them, we have yet to see.
