They’ve already added the “Specializations”, which is a clever way to adjust your class to a different one at any time. Adding another class-changing option would simply be too complicated for its own good.
I do like the good/neutral/evil suggestion. To be honest, I expected GW2 to have it already when I bought it – simply because of the personal story. It seemed pointless to me to have a personal story where every choice you make ultimately adds up to you killing Zhaitan. Could you imagine how cool it would be if you were able to join him?
No, I cannot imagine that would be cool in any given way. I would find it game breaking and completely out of place. It simply would not be guild wars if we could be evil.
Leave it to A-net to decide whether the suggestion is possible or not.
Dude… you have been playing Ragnarok Online haven’t you?
While I love the idea of having to chose a direction for you class, I disagree with the good/evil/neutral directions. I also disagree with the whole “start everything over”.
Instead, this could be done by choice of order alone, by adding order specific elite specializations.
It is however something that I strongly doubt we are going to get. At best, we’ll get order specific skill graphics. It would simply be too much balancing to try to make that many new classes.

It would be epic if this was made into dungeon paths with the option to build defences as the game progress!

I do not mind the idea of a guildbased reward for completing stuff in a zone. But I disagree completely with the “ownership” part of it. It’s completely against the GW2 style. Instead, every guild should have a reward, based on activity in all zones, if this was made a thing.
There should not be guild vs guild competition on the maps, rather I would love to see guilds being rewarded for helping each other out, like the philosophy behind the loot/exp system.

Whole forums are made for complains. Happy people don’t post on forums, they play game. Players don’t complain for the sake of it (well most don’t), they complain because they love this game and want it to be better.
I utterly and completely disagree with this. I never write “complaints” on the forum. I’m here either because I have constructive ideas for the developers, or because I like to converse with the community. I don’t mind reading constructive criticism either, but the “complaints/negative criticism” from my point of view should just be banned completely…

So is the sad anomalies that are appearing everywhere the result of the dragons being defeated?
Personally, I think those have more to do with tampering with the Bloodstone(s).
Personally, I hope that the defeat of the elder dragons plays a larger part of this than the bloodstone. Causing a greater problem by trying to do good offers an intriguing and nuanced scenario. Things going awry because of tampering with a magic rock has a lot of potential to be cliche. Either way could be played well or poorly, of course.
Though somewhat informed speculation, this is none the less speculation, and frankly, speculating is all either of us can do, is it not?
Magic is a gift from the human god Abaddon. It was sealed within the bloodstones by the other gods, so it is logical to conclude that the magic we had in the world was already restricted.
It took 5 gods to seal the magic of the world in the bloodstone. so calling either of it’s five fragments a “magic rock”, is kinda equivalent to calling a dragon an annoying lizard.
If Lazarus have indeed consumed the power of the bloodstone, he is probably equivalent in power, to one of the human a gods, which would put him slightly above an elder dragons.
We have seen one Mursaat return from the dead. With the power of the bloodstone, it is not unthinkable that he could either revive his race completely, or infuse the white mantle with Mursaat souls, granting them power of an equivalent level.
If killing an elder dragon is equivalent to a mortar shell of magic dropping on Tyria, this “magic rock” that was just destroyed, is more like a nuclear explosion of magic, dropping on the world, in compare.
This “cliché”, is somewhat like a Chernobyl disaster, except that it just created a genuine Mursaat god.
I am quite confident, that we will get to see Both of the two scenarios play out. We really do not want any more stray magic in the world. Slaying the elder dragon was a problem prior to the bloodstone’s destruction. Now the elder dragons being alive, is a minor problem, compared to having them die off.
We cannot slay neither the elder dragons nor Lazarus. Killing either would release too much raw magic into the environment. Unless of course we find a way to store the magic.
One solution to this could be to do with the raw magic, what Kormir did with Abaddons power. Powerful individuals could be used as vessels, to ascend into a form of keepers of magic.

While in lore you are correct outside you’ll have to manage how this works. Let’s say you’re a thief and you want to change into a Mesmer because in your personal lore you stole a relic and were caught but instead of being punished were initiated by the clan of deceivers.
That’s medium armor to light. Is it permanent? Is it dual class? What of previous skills and knowledge?
If you can change class once, why not twice? thus the skills and knowledge wouldn’t be lost. they just wouldn’t function simultaneously.

- More control of the various lists in the upper right. It should be possible to track achievements you want to without completely suppressing location and daily tracking. It should be possible to suppress the story prompts on a character, not the whole account.
About the content guide:
It would be nice if the content guides options were made to function like the guild ranks for priority and check boxes for whether we want them or not.
If each Content Type was a rank that could be moved to determine priority for the content guide, and when clicked a check box list of characters on the account became visible (with the current character highlighted), it would allow much more freedom for content guide customization.
Content types I’d like, separately on that list would be:
- Events
- Tasks
- Gathering nodes
- Points of interest
- Vistas
- Hero points
- Way points
- Puzzles
- Mini dungeons
- Chests
- Personal story

how is this discriminating against PvE players when PvP and WvW players aren’t getting these either?
Casual players have a real hard time with the raids. Thus they cant unlock the last masteries in hot. Thus they cant get the spirit shards.
At least that seems to be the logic.

To some of us, the dailies is a tedious chore that just never gets done.
This is a suggestion to make dailies more generic and more fun for everyone:
How could this work?
This could work by making 3 daily achievements, each one locked until the previous one is completed. The achievements could count experience, or some kind of daily points, to be completed.
As for rewards:
Each daily tier should contain a choice of daily rewards. This chest should contain as much rewards as the current dailies for each tier.
- Daily pvp reward chest.
- Daily wvw reward chest.
- Daily pve reward chest.
Like that you could enjoy do whatever you want instead of this auto-generated run-around. If you want to log in and farm Bloodstone Fen the whole day, you wouldn’t miss out on your daily. If you wanted to go nuts on them trees with your axe for a day, you wouldn’t miss out on your daily. Etc. Etc.
OBS! This should not apply to the fractal dailies. But it could apply to the Bloodstone fen dailies, even though it isn’t strictly needed.
What about the current achievements?
The current daily achievements could be made into permanent achievements.
Let each of the puzzle and mini dungeon achievements stack up the amount of times you do them, kinda like the Hobby dungeon Explorer and Dungeon frequenter.
Make a repeatable farming achievement, kinda like the agent of entropy.
The daily vista viewer, daily mystic forger, and other “fillers”, really doesn’t need a substitute achievement at all. just take them away.
In short: It would be real nice to be able to do whatever we want, without feeling we’re getting punished for it. Or am I the only one who feel like this?

For your own sake, try out some high optimism with low expectations. Enjoy the game as it is or go do something else with your time.

I think you strongly underestimate the work that goes into making such things… I Would Love to see Your suggestion going live. But I would not like what we’d have to sacrifice on all other content for it to happen.
Here’s an alternative
While I do not disagree with the idea of adding lore wise side content, I think it’d be better to make it written lore, with an option to have it read out loud.
Like that you can play the game and listen to the less important side story. You could for instance have Majory and Canarch read their own stories out loud. I think It should be free and have its own “Tales Journal” tab, unrelated to the story journal. I think it should have the same basic look as the achievement menu. Edd: to read about / Listen to side stories related to HoT, one would click on HoT, then pick a side character. On the right side of the screen one should be able to pick which side story they’d want to read/listen to. Graphically looking like the achievements, until you click it.
This would be a lot less expensive to produce and we’d have something interesting to do while doing some of the less amusing stuff, like farming or grinding achievements.

It’s the hard things that create the fun and progressive experience for the player. If you want something easy, go salvage pit, and forget about the hard stuff. You don’t Need to take it anyway. Your best bet for easy mastery points is Triple Trouble. Just keep an eye out for those organizing for them on LFG. Weekends are usually best. I was scared trying it out for the first time after hearing all the horror stories. But really, it’s a breeze when it’s organized.

Hello everyone,
I here today to ask to our community one simple question:
Am I the only one who miss the beautiful Cantha region seen in GW1?When I bought GW: Factions I fell in love in 30 second, starting from Shing Jea Island with its amazing “peace and spirit” asian look, to Kaineng City the big metropolis, the beautiful Jade Sea and the mysterious Echoval Forest.
The architecture and the design of the Factions was great, and imho that was the best GW game release.Today, playing GW2 i miss that asian feeling: yeah, we have the Lunar New Year event, and we had the Festival of The Four Winds (please, bring it back every year!), but nothing to compare with the full Cantha region.
Now a question for developers:
why don’t you take back Cantha in the next GW2 expansion? Honestly HoT don’t give me a really WOOOW effect (mastery system is good, elite spec too…but that maps are really bad, the enemies are ugly and the overall result is a simple big forest with jump and gliding actions).I don’t think that I’m the only one who miss Cantha.
Come on, let’s get it back!
:)
The only part of Cantha I really liked was Shing Jea Island… I did enjoy the art, but the whole city thing? that really did wear me out… it took me almost a year to get through it because it was so freaking tedious and moody… I love the jungles looks and feels and the music is just awesome.
But yes! By all means, Let us have back Cantha and Elona!

Additional suggestions: They could also -
- Show all character slots lined up on the left side of the screen, in SMALL squares rather than these huge ones we have now.
- Toggle toon flip off. (the toons flip around every time you pick a new one, and its making it a nuisance to switch your toon).
- Make us able to see each characters Hero panel on the start menu.
- Toogle fixed account location. Give us the option to, when we switch toon, the new toon will pop into the game where the old one left off.

Do we lose 2 ticks if we die to a boss that was less skilled than us?
Could be nice, especially if i could work towards an ascended piece that wasn’t shoulders or boots.
Wouldn’t loosing ticks at all be a bit harsh? (and yes. working towards ascended gear other than the raids, would be awesome.)
Leave it to A-net to decide whether the suggestion is possible or not.
This is a suggestion to remove the “chance” of ascended gear dropping, all together and replace it with the following system:
Ascended Drop Achievements
These achievements should tick up once, every time you do appropriate content.
Ticks needed: i don’t know the exact drop chance for the different items. The amount of ticks needed for each achievement should however reflect the current drop chance: If the drop rate is currently 10%, 10 ticks should be needed. If the drop rate is 25% 4 ticks should be needed, etc.
Ascended rings
Content: FotM dailies.
Ascended Armor & Weapons
Content: FotM dailies, three headed worm.
Tequatl weapons
Content: Tequatl the sunless
What do you guys think? wouldn’t it be nice to be rid of this “chance” and get something more streamlined and reliable for ascended drops?

They released HoT, completely broke WvW, made everyone angry and went dead silent. Not a single word. Of course they posted in every other forum – including pointless troll threads – arranged sPvP tournaments and released tons of patches. It was only some weeks ago that they finally said something about WvW, a vague promise that sometime in the future they might do stuff. WvW is still broken btw, theres more bugs than ever that essentially brings the game back to beta stage. They admit none of these bugs. Well except the walls thats been fixed multiple times (they are still bugged).
So Anet being “quiet” here on the general forum is just lol.

Unlike the suggestions I usually come up with, This one is really simple: Let us see us self in the party UI.
We can see everyone buts us self’s in the party UI.
I know some people may not have this issue, but I have a hard time diverting my attention to too many places at the same time. This means that if I try to support my party members, I die, because I cant both keep track of where everything and everyone is located and both mine and my friends HP… if i look at the party UI, and keep track of friends conditions/hp/boons/etc. I cant keep track of me…
However, if i could see me in the UI, that problem would be solved…
Assuming people use the “snap ground target to current target” function, This would permit a warrior to target a friend with a banner, a chronomancer or a necromancer to target wells on friends, an elementalist to target watermagic on friends, etc. etc. etc. without much greater ease. (no, i didnt mention all classes and im not even going to think about getting started on the guardian xD too many skills to mention)…

You’ve only got 1 choice: Make an engineer, a warrior, an elementalist and a ranger.
No one force you to “main” anything… just play the class’s you want to play. and quit the amazingly limiting idea people have of “having a main”…
Edit: yes, I’m dead serious. make ascended gear for all of them. in time, get good at all of them. the game is no fun if you have to focus on only one class for 5.000 hours…

First they walked, then they ran, then they ran a little faster, then they rode, then they rode a little faster, then they flew, then they flew a little faster. At each stage of the game the old ways became less relevant. At each stage of the game the community became more scattered. At each stage of the game some became materially superior to others in the game. At each stage the game became less and less about the players and more about the gimmicks and then the game became irrelevant.
But then, just as I had given up hope of finding another game, another community, I found GW2 and it’s community of friends. We all walked and ran and gated our way though a vast and completely open world where the game was relevant and the players were relevant and, for the most part, people actually help each other.
And, now you want to start the cycle all overt again? Now you need a mount? Why? To make the world smaller somehow, to make the people less friendly somehow, to divide rather than unite us somehow? Nay, and nay again say I, a thousand times nay. If you wish to ride there are other games where the people are disconnected from each other and the players and developers no longer speak the same language. But they ride and fly and are irrelevant.
Brethren, hear ye this man, for behold he speak truth!
