Suggestion: Mounts [Merged]

i wouldnt mind mounts but i didnt knew this game needed to be saved.

It doesn’t… its just all those stressed out people who don’t get what they want right here and now who are leaving because the game have some challenging moments that no other games provide…

It’s not a big problem if a couple of people leave because of this reason.

It becomes a huge problem when you have a mass exodus.

From 1-10 in terms of urgency, I’d say we’re at about 6 in terms of needing salvation.

A game like Diablo 3 would be at around 15. “Begone already.”

And where does this idea of an exodus come from? The only exodus I know of, is the one from wvw/pvp to pve…
Sure there’s a few people leaving because of the economy, but no, I don’t think the game needs saving… on the contrary as far as I can see the game is running smoothly as ever. People have been babbling about this since launch and yet, Anet have sold more than 5million copies of the game prior to HoT being released.
I can in no way feel in game that people should be leaving, on the contrary it seems more populated than ever…

I like the way you say that. But really, The devs. do see all of our [Suggestion] marked threads and they take them seriously… No, we don’t want them to spend time on replying… We would much rather them just take the thread to the table or throw it away… As suggesters, we don’t care about a reply, we just know they see it, because hey, they implement things on occasion…

I am absolutely sure they read this thread before making the Elite socializations
Though its very much not the same, there is a lot of elements from it.
I still hope they will take another look at the textiles part of it though xD

If you look through the gw1 forums, you’ll notice that A LOT of the things we find normal in gw2, are suggestions to gw1.
They see us, they read us, and they implement things after thinking and working it through properly… Sure, they don’t reply, but who needs to listen to reply when we know we’re being listened to?

That does not mean we should not pool our ideas together into one thread and make it easier to access for them rather than a bunch of split off sub-threads with bickering. But i hear you and agree, i dont need a response i just want people to know there is a place for their ideas to be heard.

I’m afraid that it may become a mess though. People always have responses to ideas. It’ll become a mess if people build all ideas together in one thread.
However, if everyone Link their ideas to the thread and none get to reply directly in it, this might be a good plan.

Next... To Cantha?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Zelanard.5806

Zelanard.5806

Cantha can and will happen now that Arena-Net is their own publisher and NCsoft cant tell them what to do. So they are going to be adding alot of stuff that NCsoft probably said “No blah blah you make money so we can improve our kitten-tastic game aion”

Anet is still fully owned by NCsoft.

It is true that NCsofts power over Anet is limited. There is a reason why their financial situation have not been cut back like CNsofts other daughter companies. One of those reasons is that if they did that, Anet would leave the boat. Because they can do that, as far as I have read. I cannot however provide a source of that information, and I would be happy if someone could confirm it for me. “What is Anets connection to NCsoft and how does it affect the game?”

What I see more likely is the following, in this order:

  • Janthir region.
  • Crystal Desert.
  • Northern Shiverpeaks
  • The Depths of Tyria.
  • The Sea of Sorrows.

Good list, although I would put Crystal desert on place 1. Why? Because of the egg and the legacy of Glint in that area.
And I have to insist on Ring of Fire, Anet!

So I see it like this:
Crystal Desert
Northern Shiverpeaks
Janthir area
Blood legion homelands
Sea of Sorrows
Depths
Unending Ocean area

I agree with your list, but I can see us going into elona after the crystal desert. One, because after taking out the dragon, there is nothing stopping Joko from marching on the rest of Tyria. So we will need to take him out, also after taking out the 3rd dragon, the home nations and the pact troop numbers would have dwindled alot, and we will need.“fresh” troops. Elona could provide. Also we would then for the most part be fighting a war on one front, to the north. (I can’t see us ever going to fight bubbles).

This would then mean that we would have uninterrupted supply lines from elona, and every where else in Tyria. I can then see the Eye of the North becoming the HQ in the fight against Jormag.

If we do fight bubbles I can see it being around the ring of fire, there is a lot of magic there after all.

I believe all that is a question of “Who are our next major enemy?”.

Kalkatorik
I strongly doubt we will start going after Kalkatroik because after his awakening, he have not been causing further problems. all the issues he is currently causing us is a remnant of his breath.
Crystal dessert

Primordus
We see primordous make his moves through the flame legion. we know they worship destroyers, and adopting destroyer-like physical traits. He is very likely a next enemy, because he is such a great influence on the Charr.
Depth of tyria & Bloodlegioon homelands

Bubbles
Bubbles? I love that name. I will call him that from now on. I don’t see that happening any time soon, but I would love it if it did. Nothing else would get my attention just as much.
Unending ocean

Jormag
Jormag he is a major threat. he is continually being on the offence against the shiverpeaks. I could easily see him being our next enemy, because its logical to fight the strongest enemy on the offence.
Far Shiverpeaks

Centaurs
We don’t actually know how strong the centaurs are. all we know is that they are powerful enough to have pushed all the way to the gates of Divinity’s reach. Meaning they are probably a major power. Possibly even more threatening than Jormag.
Woodland Cascades

The White Mantle
We have absolutely no clue about the depth of the roots of the white mantle. How large are the organization? What sources do they have of power? they are a mystery we know very little of.
I doubt this would give us a new map. but if it did, my guess would be islands in the sea of sorrows.

Notice that I am completely leaving out anything outside of our current map. I don’t think they will expand it, until they are done with what we have atm.

The name almost tells the whole story. But let me be more specific none the less:
The crafting hall should contain crafting stations, usable by all characters. It should permit the character to use all crafting levels, ever unlocked on the account, regardless of which craft’s unlocked on the specific character. It should be a building in the in the guild hall.
If anyone have anything to contribute with, id love to read further additions to the suggestion. ^^-

I’m not mad about anyone at anet not talking to me – I’m “mad” because of stupid descisions which stay in game for too long.

F.e. the infamous former trait system which was live for over a year. As a consequence few people had all traits or even full trait lines. Since those were significantly weaker than the rest of the players, the traitlines were merged so everybody had to take 3 full trait lines. Seems as if no one understood there is a correlation between people not really being able to get traits and people not having optimal builds.
No one thought the rather randomly merged traits need some balancing and then some new shiny Elite specs appeared, still no balance and the pvp match ended in no one could kill anyone as they’re all bunkers.
You don’t need to talk to me, just fix it – and I already said I would pay for a balancing team and honestly my friends who are mainly wvw/pvp players rage 24/7 about the non existent balance – so I guess that IS an issue.

or maybe you’re trying to cut stones with scissors in pvp and because you cant do it, you get annoyed and angry… I’m sorry to break it to you… But I’m playing a normal ranger in pvp and I still take down chronometers, daredevils and what’s not in pvp (with a class that is widely known and under powered in pvp)… It’s not the balance that sucks. its you who need to improve what you do. Sure, we know they are working on balance, but really, its not that big of a deal.

This has potential.

Though, I think we need a few more mastery point options added for central Tyria if this were to happen.

I do like the concept though.

Well, since its not a central Tyria line, but a festival line, the point is they should add festival mastery points too

Suggestion: Writ of Tyria Mastery Vendor

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Zelanard.5806

Zelanard.5806

I was thinking about how many tomes of knowledge my character gets when I pvp and while I am using them to level my revenant it seems like they would be a good currency to use for Writs of Tyria Mastery. You would have to trade several tomes of knowledge in for one writ but in the end I think it would help bring people back to playing the game as well as provide a service for the current players.

The vendor would sell multiple types of writs, each providing more mastery experience but costing more tomes to purchase. I think there should be a gold fee or spirit shard fee as well so that a player can’t just trade in a large stack of tomes and progress through an entire mastery tree with just tomes of knowledge.

This. But only for Central Tyria :P

That’s the idea I was going for there is already plenty of 80 content for Maguma Mastery where I feel if they introduce it for just Central Tyria then it would be a lot better implemented. It also sets up a way for them to integrate the maguma later when a new set of mastery levels come out with a later expansion.

It would be a great way to cut back the cof exp farms anyway.

I didn’t buy this game for a grind fest, nor to have a nightmare time acquiring “GIFTS” for 10,000 drinks..

Sick and tired of the grind, you’re taking away all the fun in this game, you truly are.

I made those 10k drinks by running fractals… 1 set of daily = appriximately 1 stack. run 40 dailies (i’ve done so about now) and you have 10k drinks… having had mighty fun in the process…

If you are so sick and tired of the grind fest… STOP GRINDING… there’s no need for it… and no reason to do so… the only reason why you grind is because the whole rest of the gaming community have taught you how to grind… you have to go unlearn that if you want to enjoy this game…
Its like exploring the map… some of the vista you cant just run straight to… you’ll have to take a different approach…

[Suggestion] Junk-yard salvage kit

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Zelanard.5806

Zelanard.5806

Alternative solution:
Just recently, ArenaNet reduced the amount of material you obtain by salvaging items.
Revert this change and instead reduce the number of dropping white, blue and green items.

They did what now? When did this happen? Can you send a link?

Alternative solution:

This way, the material we would obtain by salvaging would stay the same but the really really annoying constant salvaging of crap drops would be reduced. In some situations I have to pause playing and salvage crap drops every few minutes, the game just dumps such an insane amount of them on us. To be honest, the constant need to salvage is reducing my fun while playing by quite a bit these days.

But really, any solution would be welcome to I support this suggestion as well.

Well, I honestly would prefer not having to salvage whites greens and blues at all. I don’t know why anyone would bother being annoyed about it, but I know people do, that’s why I wrote the suggestion :P

It would not be too far off to think that we can get to channel the spirits of the wilds, Humans have been known to do this before. (you could do so in gw1).
It is also possible that we could get to channel the titans, nightmares, shadows, oni, Envoys and whatever other strange demonic creatures lurk in the countless realms within the mists…

I am not saying this will happen, just that it is possible within the frame of lore and game play…
The “human gods” are only worshipped by humans, but they are (Sylvari excepted) recognized by the other races.
We already channel Sylvari’s equivalent to a god, in terms of culture. Thus, it wouldn’t be too far off to assume that this could happen…

Yes, they did state at some point that they will add more elite specializations, so this is a possibility…
Here’s for hoping we’ll get it with the next expansion or LS S3

A Revenant could use a flail and channel another God like Balthazar

Revs don’t have anything to do with the gods.

When the reverent can channel demons, and dead people, why not gods? It would be a nice way to have something akin to the dervish “Avatar forms” back…

They channel dead spirits that have gone to the mists, so nothing to do with gods.

Dead spirits go to the underworld, the realm of Grenth within the mists. Mallyx the Unyielding is not a dead spirit he is a demon from the Domain of anguish in the realm of torment. This was the domain of Abaddon the god of secrets, until he were killed and his power taken by Kormir the current god of truth.
So, we can conclude without any question, that we are already channeling one being from the Domain of Anguish in the realm of torment. We do channel at least three other spirits, from the underworld, which is the domain of Grenth, the what? third? and current god of Death. We also know that the Dervish was able to become avatars of the gods, and not only can humans become avatars, they can also kill and become gods, in accordance to Guild wars lore.
If you look to the fantasy universe, an Avatar is someone possessed by a higher being, much like a Revenant in guild wars 2. Thus we can conclude that it is both in accordance with guild wars lore, and in accordance with the Revenants abilities, to channel gods…

(Because some people don’t want to salvage Rare items.)

I’d assume it wouldn’t touch rares. Becuase I completely agree with your item description for copper fed.

Aah yes ^^ you just said “none exotic” above so, I wasn’t completely sure But I still would like the option. Either that or make it a level 80 thing only. :P (since drops do happen that you can use on the lower levels) :P

[Credit for Anet] Not a single hour waisted!

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Zelanard.5806

Zelanard.5806

I have been playing this game for 6630hours. I’ve been here since the beta. I’ve enjoyed every single second, minute, hour, day and year spent in game. My only regret is, that I have not had more time to spend in here. Though, frankly, it would take quite an effort to squeeze any more playing time into a game this young…
What I enjoy the most is the fact that: Compared to any other game I’ve been playing, Guild Wars 2:

1: Have the smoothest, Largest and most steady new content, feature update and balancing release stream.
2: Have the best way to listen to players feedback.
3: Make the most player inspired updates.
4: Have the least bugs.
5: Have the best community in game.
6: Have a staff who genuinely Care about its players.

I could go on all night, but I don’t write this as a praise to A-net. I am grateful though; Thank you Arena Net, For caring about your community. I hear a lot of players complain, and babel high and low about how horrible it is that you don’t do this and don’t do that and don’t care and so on and so forth, just because there’s a small thing they cant fit into their head. I humbly disagree with those people. I Love that you both bother to Listen to us, Respond to us and take us seriously…
As a developer, I would be a little discouraged, reading some of the posts on forum from time to time. I hope that the year 2016, will offer more grateful people who understand the amount of work it takes to deliver the sky high quality you do deliver.

No people, we don’t get an expansion a year, and the expansion didn’t come all at the same time, as were clearly pointed out to us prior to the release of HoT. We do however get a fully thought through, fully operational and properly optimized game. Much in opposition to any other mmo-rpg out there.
We don’t have to wait for weeks and months after an expansion release on the important bug fixes like “log in client overflow” or “The game crashing every other second” or “skills not working” or “disconnected due to encumbered servers”. We don’t have to deal with servers closing down for hours once a week. We have grown used to Anet listening to us, and even ASKING us for our opinion, to a degree that No other game show. When we do get serious bugs, they are fixed within a day or at two at most…

I love this game. I could spend another 5.000 hours in here without any content releases without getting bored. That is, AS IT IS RIGHT NOW. But hey, we know Arena Net, new content and updates and polishing IS ON THE WAY… So I suppose that as long as the servers is up, I’ll keep playing. Keep giving ideas and inspiration on the forum… and keep making new friends in the amazing, amazing community you have created.

Thank you Arena net, for giving me, and my family and friends, this amazing world to to explore and play in, together.. Thank you for the time and the effort you put into Our lives… In return, we are some, who believe in you, in what you do to bring a little light into our world…

EDIT: Thank you for doing so much more, than you ever said you would.

Really?… And desperate? if they were desperate they wouldn’t make all that available for in game gold…

It ISN’T available in GOLDDDD

It’s about as available as the in-game coins are in iphone games – and how long would that take to save up enough to buy your item? Eighteen months?

Gimme a break

lol… 200 gems is about 40g last I checked… You can make 25 gold an hour just doing the wintersday jumping puzzle… outside that you can make 20g an hour running fractals… so yes, its is available in gold…

Maybe you should look at that before you say too much about the Guild Wars 2 cosmetic selling store.

The Guild Wars 2 gem store is far from just a “cosmetic” selling store.

Bank tabs. Bag slots. Time saving items. Upgrades. Quests items. Extractors. Unique and valuable items hidden behind gambling mechanics.

Yeah, stuff like the repair canisters, revive orbs and teleport to friend items are pretty questionable things to sell in a cashshop if you don’t want the game to give the impression of being pay-to-win. Even though we can get those items from login rewards every week, it still iffy.

And we can get the gems for gold, so its not a cash shop…

I can’t even finish my tyria mastery because i lack points, 8 hidden in LS2 and 3 in TT that’s nearly impossible to do, unless you get lucky to get a taxi in organized map…

Losing motivation, gained all the exp to rank up any mastery, but i can’t obtain the points for it. (Unless i pay to get 8 mastery points)

16 mastery points. (2 for each chapter)
And you don’t need the points to finish your masteries Nor do you need to pay anything but gold to get them… (merry Christmas)

Don’t be too disheartened. I have Living story 2 completely unlocked. Yet attempting to do the achievements is a buggy mess. Do not recommend.

Most of those bugs is fixed by now though…

GEMS & My thoughts about the game

Maybe you should look at that before you say too much about the Guild Wars 2 cosmetic selling store.

The Guild Wars 2 gem store is far from just a “cosmetic” selling store.

Bank tabs. Bag slots. Time saving items. Upgrades. Quests items. Extractors. Unique and valuable items hidden behind gambling mechanics.

Mainly cosmetic… And you can get it all for free… So what’s the problem?

…You might want to go the the black lion windows tab 2… You will realize that anything you can buy with real money, you can buy with in game gold… That goes for cosmetics as well as character slots and bank tabs… would you really want to take away the extra character slots and bank tabs? Really?… And desperate? if they were desperate they wouldn’t make all that available for in game gold…

Ascended gear price increase - grind on?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Zelanard.5806

yep, that´s the no1 reason why I left the game.

Not grinding the Silverwastes for hours everyday for months just to be able to raid. Too many other games to play.

So much for no required gear grind.

Because you need to grind SW for hours, days and months to play raids…….
Sarcasm Intended

I restrained myself… But now I cant stop xD
Dude… If you think you need to grind SW at all, for ANY reason, You’re doing something wrong xD

So… let me get this straight… Because its expensive to craft, you shouldn’t get ascended gear?
Dude, 20 minutes a day for 2 weeks and I’ve got 4 ascended armour pieces and an ascended weapon…
Quit complaining about the prices and get into the fractals and raids… its a lot easier to get the ascended items now than it have ever been before…

I think it would be more reasonable to cut the silk cost of damask in half and keep the current system.
But increase the material drops… Leather was worthless before, its not any more, that is a good thing.

If they would implement something like your suggestion, I am willing to bet that it would be an entirely different item from the current gem store kits. Because /greed.

The recipe is just a suggestion. I can imagine a billion other ways for them to do this, like, a mastery or a collection. “Legendary Junk-yard collection!” who knows what they will really do.

[Suggestion] Friend list utilities

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Zelanard.5806

Zelanard.5806

Here’s a few ideas and thoughts to the friend list.

Last online
It would be nice to be able to see when a friend was last seen online, just like with the guild panel.

Folders
It would be so cool if we could sort our friend list in some way. folders being one idea to do that.
A status option should be added to each folder with the options:
“Default” Showing the overall status (Online, Away, Invisible)
“Invisible”, “Away”, “Online”. Once a folder is marked with a none default status, the folders status should take priority above the over all status.
Each folder should have a status lock check box.
Note: Upon changing the over all status, all folder status should be set to default, unless locked

Hide offline
It would be so neat with a button to hide offline friends.

Notes
Its nice to be able to make nicknames for people, but that really does not help us remembering who they are. The friend list can get pretty huge, so it would be cool with an option to take friend related notes.

Status
When hovering over a friend, we see a neat little pop up showing class, level, name, account name, location and AP. Give us the function to write a status, so that when someone else hover over our name, they will be able to see the status message.
“I am busy but if you’re looking for a fractal I can join you shortly.”
“I need a new guild!”
“Feeling green!”

Following
Divide the “Followers tab” into two sections. One section for people You have added that have yet to add you, and another one for people who have added you, but who you have not added.

Blocking
Let all blocking be two ways and make sure that any 1 person can arrange a block, But both have to agree to disband it.

[Suggestion] Fractal's of the mists

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Zelanard.5806

Zelanard.5806

This have probably been said before. But I will post this none the less, because It cannot be said too often or too much. I’m running 10-30 fractals a day in different levels. I don’t have a huge issue with having to go in and out of the fractals all the time. But it is a minor annoyance which could use a quality of life makeover.

It would be so sweet, if we could change the fractal scale, inside the Mistlock observatory.

Heres a suggestion to how that could be done:

Mistlock Observatory
Remove the “chose level” completely from the entry of the observatory.
Let the first person who enter the portal at the center of the observatory chose the level, then let the remaining members enter the same way as with any dungeon. Eliminate the noxious “ready” button completely.
This will allow people to finish up whatever they are doing in the observatory, without the pressure of everyone waiting for them. It will make people able to run several fractals at different levels without having to drop in and out in between thus giving a much smoother experience of the fractals.

Here’s a suggestion for mystic forge salvage kits:

Yes really, but you have the whole year to get it…

We’ve noticed that you’ve had a few questions about Wintersday, and specifically about the Wintersday Presence Collection. We’d like to share the following info with you:

  • Wintersday is scheduled to end on January 12, 2016.
  • We will be leaving the Festive Imbiber achievement active throughout the year.
  • We will not be able to change the text that indicates it’s a Wintersday-only achievement, but you will be able to continue to imbide (in moderation, please – think of the dolyak children!) to gain that achievement.

Enjoy the festival and we’ll see you in the game!

On the pictures it looks to me like they are working perfectly. Notice that you gain 28 exp every single time. That is the normal monster exp after it’s been modified by your boosters.
The Exp Bonus, is according to the wiki, something different entirely: “An exploration bonus is earned based on how long a creature has been alive in the world” – http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Experience
