No influence for guild from FOTM

Why does the completion of FOTM give no influence to the guild?
FOTM is considered a dungeon so shouldnt it also give influence from completing?

Currently only a handful of events which are not even in every Fractal gives event influence….which is total kitten….

All officers, leader tried to activate the upgrades today and no one is able to do it.
We checked to make sure we have the correct rights to do so and the boxes are checked.

Basically when we click on it nothing happens, no message no error nothing….

Ok first of all, JQ is not a 24/7 server, we are a 24/5 server.

You want to beat us? get a 30k lead in the first 2 days, we always give every server a head start. Take your early lead while we have a few beers with Siegerazer.

Also if you had more coverage than us, u would be calling it skill.
Anyways, When you face the only server who held T1 for nearly 20 weeks, which is almost the entirety of the game, you are going to expect some beat downs.
With all that said, both SoS and Sor put up some good fights and hope to see you guys in a week or 2.

Dani, i suggest you take a screenshot of pug group party names if you think they might end up kicking you and send that in to support.

Look up what the meaning of trolling is before accusing people of it. Ive done over 700 fractals, I’ve yet to be kicked for anything.

What exactly does your post do to help the OP?
Nothing at all, so instead of posting your useless comment, its best you you don’t post at all. Its apparent that the OP must have already had a bad experience, there is no benefit to kicking him while he is down.

Also just because you have done 700 Fractals, means nothing in this context…I have done well over a 1000, but that’s a pointless fact to bring up.
Players like yourself ruin an amazing game for all.

WvWvW Queues issue [Merged Threads]

Best way to fix the queues is to add another map to WvW, with players spread to 5 maps, rather than 4, it will spread the players further.
the 5th map can be something new and interesting, perhaps this 5th map can change every month.

Honestly i think its time we remove DR from the game, its absolutely killing every aspect of the game.

You cannot do dungeons too fast, my guild barely skips anything and we hit DR after doing 2 paths…
You farm a few events in cursed shore and next thing you know, you hit DR…
Now DR affecting Dragon chests?…Seriously!

Will i hit DR for playing the game next? If i play more than 20 mins, the game will not allow me to move around, walking DR?

Is it just me or ORBS did make WvWvW fun?

i think instead of adding fancy features like this, they need to reward the WvW players.
After several hours of strategic killing, taking towers, keeps, camps n whatnot.
A WvW player makes almost no gold.

Will Orbs fix the above? Not really.

What is better is that instead allow the Badges of honor to be traded in for gold or something like this.

Why not a weekly instead of daily?

My thoughts, this is one of those encounters which should have been made easier with the WP RZ nerf.

He is a pain, i tried him once after the nerf and my party gave up after the first try.

According to the first post, Anet was going to look at encounters that used to be done by WP RZ but this must have been overlooked. The whole speech about making encounters easy was just a mirage, it was thrown in there so players would buy into the nerf of WP RZ.

All the acolyte event, bolder event & the 4 braizers are nothing like hit as hard as you can. They require a brain and no the path does not need to be changed.

People cry about anything and everything.
Anet makes something hard, you cry, they make something easy, you cry.

Dont fix that is not broken. If you feel dungeons are too easy, please go and repeat Path 4 of Arah daily.

Please move this to the suggestion part of the forum.

My thoughts, this is not needed and the professions who have a utility skill that res, should be instead also be allowed to also res dead players at a slow rate ofc.
Also they should increase the cooldown on those utility slots if it resses a dead player vs a downed.

Dead player res = double cooldown time.

I think there is a requirement for maybe a chance of getting it in a hunt of some sort but please keep the chance a very low number since u dont want everyone to run around with a legendary, there will be no sense of acomplishment if everyone has one.

WvWvW Queues issue [Merged Threads]

There is definately a problem with the WvW queues, i queued for 1 hr yesterday for EB whereas a guidie got in 5 mins after he logs into the game….

I ended up re-queuing and dint get in for another 30 mins…Soon after which my game crashes and i get another 1 hr long queue. While once again another friend on my server logs in and goes in 2 mins….

How is this working correctly? Its absolutely rubbish…

Ya i believe right now, the last person to queue gets the first chance to enter.
It has been working this way since the start.
Btw, it will help if you change the topic to something like:

I have to agree that kicking players is absolutely rude, I have never been kicked but i can only imagine what one will feel if they did get to the final boss and then get booted.

I run mainly with my guild and we take pugs, even some who talk a lot of trash and while we outnumber them and can easily kick them, i never allow this sort of behavior. Even players who we cannot tolerate, we still run them through all the way since that will be last time we encounter them and why stoop to their level or even lower?

I definately think that a report last party option should be in the game that will allow devs to look at last party composition or something and such players should be penalized somehow.

The dungeons are finally getting to the point where they should be. While i run with an extremely organized group, everyone does not have that luxury.

Asking for paths to be made harder or add harder content is only for a small group of people, its just a bad idea.

All content should be doable by a pug group, Anet has done a great job doing this and they are striding in the right direction with the new updates.
Infact, there are still a few encounters that are stiff tough example Dwayna.

The better suggestion will be to take the harder paths and add better rewards to it, like P4 of Arah can give double tokens or something.

There is an insane amount of areas just in Tyria that are not even open yet.
Fire island to the Cyrstal desert to Maguuma jungle to the Shiverpeaks!

So much content! I would honestly like the above 4 areas to be added as free content since they were originally part of the Tyria continent.

Cantha and Elona on the other hand, i would buy those separately as expansions yes!
The Tengu race is from Cantha so i can almost guarantee that they will add that race as playable when Cantha is released along with which will come the deep sea dragon as the Jade sea has now been unfrozen and we can now swim

It’s hard to deny that UW and Fow was the backbone of pve endgame.
As far as lore, it definitely fits, how do you explain the mad king appeared this Halloween? Where did he come from? Vapor?

He came from the depths of the Underworld. The gods might have gone in hiding but that doesn’t mean that Asuran portals cannot be built to allow passage.

They should definitely bring these 2 zones as Elite dungeons.

With Factions, the addition of Deep & Urgoz, Nightfall will add Domain of Anguish.

All of the above will be changed and yes somehow affected by the presence of the dragons but they are realms that are needed.

seems JQ are trying to build a HoD 2.0 , as we all know some of their newer guilds cant bare to lose and would rather either ruin wvw or move somewhere else.

Fissure of Woe was amazing, it roamed with skeleton enemies, bone dragons, the shadow army, drakes, hydras and a few more.

Every event/quest had a different mechanic and at the end would yeild a chest.
Tons of fun!

Tips:

  • Stack tears and I do not mean just a few. Grab as many as you can and place them in the same area. The area you have designated to pull her to.
  • Use the 4 and 1 trick – After the first time she goes invisible place 4 sparks then let her get full health take her back down and then place 1 spark as fast as you can this will take her into phase 2.
  • Only have two spark runners one for top two sparks and one for bottom 3 both runners will need to have some sort of swiftness utility to make sure you have max duration. Make sure both runners are running the same direction either clockwise or counterclockwise. Everyone else STAY OUT OF THE WAY! The sparks aggro by proximity.
  • Spark runners need dump all their attacks on her then get into position to run the sparks again. I believe once you hit phase 2 she will go invisible every 45 to 60 sec.
  • My rule of thumb is everyone in your party should have around 2900 attack. Yes it can be done with less but I try not to make it harder than it already is. The Higher your DPS of your group will help you to have to not make as many spark runs. When you have lower DPS it will cause your spark runners to have a very small margin for error.

Also use consumables, food (Steak something gives +power + Precision) & the +10% against undead which is a common drop from the dungeon or you can buy from the BLTC.

If you need help, you can mail or pm me in game. I have done this a few times now for friends, all you need is a bit of organization. I recommend having 3 hours of free time before attempting this. Also Teamspeak/Ventrilo will greatly help as well.

Thieves with Infinite Stealth

I think you are facing 2 issues:

2 thieves can easily share stealth and keep each other hidden for a good amount of time. But they cannot do damage while staying in steath, they can however do damage and pop right back in after a quick stab or 2. This isnt cheating.

Other issue is culling, you are possibly not loading the enemy thief, there is some what of a fix that is coming in a week.

With the above said, thieves are very squishly, if you ever play one, you will understand what i mean. If you take their ability to stealth away then they will be useless in WvW since they rely mostly on close combat.

AoE is your best bet when fighting a thief, also most thieves deliver their max dmg in their opening strikes, if you dodge the first couple then you have outlived it.

I recommend you play a thief and learn what difficulties they face and you can develop some techniques on how to combat them.

Corrupted Files Causing Crashes

I had tried all the steps mentioned about but in the end i did a system restore to a previous date, picked a date prior to downloading the last patch.

After doing that, the game downloaded the new patch and its worked flawlessly so i recommend if someone has this headache, just do a system restore.

It took about 10 mins for the whole fix.

This is exactly the ditinguishing factor between Fractals and ur regular dungeons, if people want that sort of challenge then go do fractals.
Another issue with this is, the person who is dead is essentially now leeching the points, so wait Anet wanted to not allow zerging but they will promote leeching?

How will they prevent someone who purposely just dies and still gets the dungeon reward? I guess lets all reward leechers now, thats the way to do it. sarcasm intended

I’m inclined to agree that this will definitely impact pugs in a bad way. It’s another reason to have groups 80s only in full exo’s.

Tbh it would be more efficient for teams to kick defeated players and invite new players than to try and rez defeated players during combat or going a “man down” in certain areas. I don’t like the sound of that at all.

Seems like this is mainly to combat the kiting in CoF path 2 “defend magg”. Where else is this really an issue?

This issue is also in Arah like fight against lupi is perfect example, very easy to make a mistake there especially if the boss wants you for lunch.

Lupi isnt hard with 5 good players but guess wat, take a mediocre team, with 1-2 players down and the fight gets incredibly hard, not to mention, ressing during the fight with lupi has to be done very carefully or ur asking to be killed.

Main issue this is nerfing is how 2-3 players can kite the boss around till the 2 dead players run back and continue to fight instead of starting from phase 1.
I think this is a bad idea since if the dungeon required players to use a strategy then it is already hard and if you going to make it too easy then no point nerfing the wp zerg since ppl wont need to use it.

This is a pointless update and it will only affect the game in a bad way.

So the story mode dungeons are only to be played by elite players and only in the prescribed way? LOL.

Let’s put it this way:

You got an exam.

No matter how badly you do in that exam, you’ll still pass anyway. How is that a good test of your knowledge?

It’s the same with dungeons: They’re a test of skill. If you can just keep running to your death and still get your reward (“passing the test”), how is that good design.

As I said previously, you aren’t catering to casual players, you’re catering to the entitled who think it’s their God-given right that they should be rewarded.

If they keep dying, they keep paying for repair cost = they are getting less of a reward.
Its as simple as that.

Why dont we go an extra step ahead and remove the reward of getting any Glory points in sPvp if your team loses, will you still want to do spvp? no
Precisely the point, time should equate to some reward, players learn, they are already getting penalised by dying, no point penalizing the entire team.

You might see that as a good thing but actually that is going to cause the newer players not wanting to do dungeon runs. and more so, no one will take newer players.

Nope. It punishes bad players who don’t work together.

Bad players are already punished as their gear gets damaged and they pay some money to repair.
The players who stayed alive and now at a disadvantage and trying to stay alive to hold agro might not have enough damage to kill the boss in a timely manner.

So now you are punishing the entire team since 1 guy died, now that is called a terrible idea.
This game is about team play yes, but if one guy is bad in your team that gets killed during a boss fight then ur penalising the entire team..
