I share the same sentiment as the OP, would love additional bank tabs. Also more shared inventory slots would also be welcome.
With the expansion just around the corner and the recent Character slot sale, I was able to pick up a few extra slots however most of the cool, sought after names are already taken.
I have monitored a couple specific ones for over past 6 months and noticed these players haven’t longed in since.
Would highly recommend that any account that hasn’t logged in over a year or more should have their names revoked before the expansion launches. When and if those accounts ever decide to login, they can be given a free choice to get a brand new name.
This will allow new players coming to the game to also still be able to pick a name they potentially wanted.

The PAX site usually books attendees way in advance of even ticket sales. If there’s a publisher / studio / or person of interest attending they would have announced it before the start of ticket sales.
This is absolutely false, go look at their twitter. They don’t publish that information until very close to that event actually going live(1-2 months) prior but by then the ticket sales are long gone.
This is why this question is really directed to Anet.

You just need to play a few games, not spending any gold (surprise you can even get gold!), not spending any crafting materials, no achievements to do for it.
So be happy with it.
Its not free, you have to play x number of games depending on wins/losses, you have to spend so much time n some effort to achieve enough tokens.
By your definition, even a legendary would be free then because I could just farm for month and get that also? Time is money.
Now back to the topic, its not a matter of free or not, its a matter of getting a complete set. There are a ton of inconsistencies that have plaugued the game since launch due to simple oversight. I am simply pointing out that this is one of them.
No one is asking them to give 10k tokens but just enough tokens for atleast one full armor set would be nice.
This way players can come back and acquire the other 2 armor sets next two seasons.
Anet made the right decision here, there will always be players that will not agree. Cannot make everyone happy.

this is a broken system if the above is true. Decay should cause those accounts to lose the rating permanently, not get it restored just for playing x games.

It makes no sense to add AP here tho, regardless of who is chasing AP. The titles make sense so I agree with keeping those there but the AP should be removed from these.
Actually since last night there are 2 players that have 6 accounts in top 25 (both duo queuing). I wont name any names but yea considering these players have participated in world championships, most other players don’t have a chance to beat them unless they add all of their accounts and queue dodge….
This is getting a bit absurd really, also having AP associated to these pvp tiers makes no sense. Please remove the Achievement points at least.
Lets talk about this new currency….So if you add up all the chests, you can only acquire 1200 shards…..

Also it is a very bad decision to not have them drop from the repeatable Byzantium chest. Same goes for the black llamas.
Would really appreciate if the last Byzantium chest can be updated to give an extra 100 so we can complete at least 1 of the 3 armor chests this season. For people who completed it can get an extra 100 via a mail?

So a “Quarterly update” means we get 1 legendary weapon skin, rework of fotm and a mystic forge recipe for legendary back piece. This is all we get apparently… this is pure speculation ofc. but seems very lack luster to me.
My list has started to slowly shrink, now if the set of sunglasses are released, will be awesome

This week we’re completing dev work and starting integration for the upcoming Spring Quarterly Update, which we’re preparing to launch in mid- to late April. It’s a busy week making sure everything comes together right and hits our quality bar.I know that the discussion around legendary weapons is still fresh on everyone’s mind. But as we’re locking in the contents of the quarterly update, there are some specific things I should tell you about today.
The quarterly update will include changes to Fractals, and among those will be changes to the tiering structure. We’ll have to retire two of the current achievements, Casual Fractal Hero and Core Fractal Hero. While we’ll introduce new achievements to replace the ones we’re retiring, any progress made toward the old achievements will not count toward the new ones. If you’ve been working toward the old achievements, you have a few weeks or so left to wrap them up.
With the quarterly update we’ll also reduce scribing costs across-the-board. Here are some of the ways that will happen. We’ll reduce material costs on recipes: for example the Basic Ink Set will no longer require a Simple Ink Set, and each Sandpaper recipe will now require less Sand. Reducing the demand for basic materials will reduce their prices. We’ll add significant new supplies of Resonating Slivers, so that they no longer serve as a barrier to scribes who don’t have a guild supporting them. And we’ll increase drop rates of certain other components. These are going to be impactful changes, so we want to give you this advance notice, and encourage you to consider pausing here and waiting for the quarterly update before doing a lot of new scribing.
Two weeks ago we polled the WvW community about Desert versus Alpine borderlands. The majority of players asked us to bring Alpine back. We’ll do that. It actually takes quite a bit of time to dust off old content and bring it up to the current game state, so it won’t happen in time for the quarterly release. Instead we’ll launch the quarterly update with improvements to Desert, use that as an opportunity to get the community’s feedback on those changes, then we’ll swap to Alpine when it’s ready. Changing borderlands maps like this will disrupt matches in progress, but we think that making changes on live servers, where everyone can test, is worth the cost.
I wanted to give this early heads-up about these areas. You already know quite a bit more about the things we’re working on for the April Quarterly Update, but I’ll stop here for now. I think our jobs are to delight you with what we ship, not with big talk or big promises. So hang tight. Release day will be here soon enough.

Just go with a District system like in gw1, if the population rises to a certain threshold, new districts will automatically be added that players can choose to go to.
Then once the content is exhausted in that area, the higher districts will start closing starting in descending order.
well more than likely your team did all the work and you did desert them for over a minute, while it may not have been on purpose do you deserve a pip for little to no contribution?
1) Day 1
2) Ruby Tier 2 or 3
3) Win rate around 60%
4) Stuck, games after entering ruby has been around 50% win ratio
5) last night for the first time i lost 5 games in a row, prior to that the most i ever lost was 3 in a row
6) yes aiming for Legendary at the very least unless progress continues to be extremely slow which has been the case for last 2 days
I’m reasonably certain that when you word it as “skill vs grind” almost everyone will say skill.
However in reality it’s not that black and white.
People want their achievements to be meaningful, people don’t want to share their prestige with lesser skilled players. This is why grind based systems are disliked.
However people also like to progress, people want their time and effort to be rewarded, and people really hate being told that they can’t progress farther. Skill based systems however impose brick walls that players can’t progress past, causing players to have a sense of futility.
The most likeable (not necessarily the most fair) system would be one that half grind, and half skill.
Could not have put it in better words, also keep in mind the pvp community is extremely small and if you make it a purely skill based system it will De-incentivise the pve players from playing this game mode all together.
IMO, the current pip system is actually quite fair, its designed in the manner if you are a good player then you will get to legendary faster than others.
If you are a bad player you can still reach legendary but will simply take a LOT more time.
The example you mentioned that losing 15 in a row and then winning 9 in a row makes absolutely no sense whatsoever…
If a player lost 15 in a row chances are they are not going to win 9 in a row, very unrealistic…
Now lets say for the sake of argument by some magic they do win 9 in a row, they end up with 2 pips more, how much time did this player had to spend?24 games – 3 min avg queue time + 10 min avg game = 5.2 hours….
Whereas a skilled player can play 26 mins and achieve the same result, to me that is a system working just fine.

in season 1 you end up with -6 pips (if matches are 50/50).
and in this season you don’t have really to play, you can go afk for a shower, a beer with friends, and so on… and you have 2 pips.
you need to press some key for not been disconnected by the game and start new matches…
I really want you to record 9 consecutive games that you win while you’re afk doing what you described, until you can do that your argument is moot.
So with your next post please provide a you tube video of the 9 games.

This has been happening pretty much every game for me and many of my friends where we are paired up against a full 5 man premade….
How is this a fair matchmaking system?
In fact, I had a game yesterday which had all solo queue players on my team vs a full 5 man team…

Yes the player was in our party, obviously they are not going to be re-invited in future games, this makes a lot more sense now, thanks for the quick reply!
So this happened to us last night, a player on our team quit the game mid match leaving us 4v5 while we were only 50 points behind….this quickly snowballed and we lost by a huge margin at the end and still gave us a pip loss..
It was clearly stated in the patch notes that this would not result in a pip loss…
“If a player from your team deserts the match, and your team is then defeated, you’ll lose no pips for that match (and the match won’t count as a loss should you be on a win streak).”

Yes, I’ve got a number of improvements/fixes for Spirit Vale that will be coming out with the next raid wing, and this is one of them. You’ll also be able to infuse the rings and backpack, and extra raid miniatures will no longer clutter up your bags.
What will happen with extra raid miniatures? Mystic forgeable? Salvageable for shards?
