Try using the -windowed option to force windowed mode. If you’ve played GW2 on it before, you can also try deleting your settings by deleting the folder
%appdata%/Guild Wars 2/ and if it exists, Documents/Guild Wars 2/Local.dat.

If your laptop has multiple GPUs, try disabling all but the dedicated one. Some laptops for example have a dual setup; an integrated one for normal tasks and a dedicated one for 3D. Sometimes the wrong one will get used and cause it to fail.

What Healix said, deleting local.dat file should fix your issue.

I’m a returning player, been playing spvp for the past week or two. I kept looking at the leaderboards hoping that I would at least have a % but it hasn’t shown me on there yet. Why isn’t this told to people? I can’t find any warning that the leaderboards stopped working.

Leaderboards have not stopped working, they are simply frozen since the last test season ended.
As far as we know, Anet has plans of revamping how leaderboards will work and until those changes are made, they may or may not reset them.
No specific date has been provided as to when it will get reset.

Make sure to check your processes, you may have the client running but just not displaying on your screen.
You can try CTRL+ALT+DEL and open task manager and go to Processes.
Look for a gw2.exe, Terminate the process and try re-opening your client.

I had all the fractal skins except for the mace. It took 14 months for me to finally get it, and I do 50/40 pretty much daily. I wish you luck.

lol thank you, I had a friend who was missing the mace as well. It took him nearly 6 months. I hope I get my speargun in much shorter time.

I also do hope they fix the fractal collection and put a nice “fat” reward at the end.
Also while I am dreaming, might as well give us “The Fall of Abbadon” along with progress to lvl 60 =P

The hammer skill has been pulsing stab for months now. Ever since they updated stab skills to act more like defiant.

Good to know, I guess I had the luck of not getting cliffside as often. I also don’t believe it was pulsing earlier, I think it was giving direct 4-5 stacks but I guess I could be wrong.

Its the main gold sink, almost all MMOs have gold sinks in the game in order to keep the economy in check. Otherwise, gold will become useless.

I wouldn’t expect an answer on that. ArenaNet often gets confused about whether or not they mean to do things.

Still would like to understand the reason behind the change as nothing was mentioned in the patch notes.
Stability is quite useful for the hammer specially when you are trying to hit the seal when you are close to 30 corruption stacks. (Negates the stun)
It also helps running the hammer up the ramps which have the air pockets that can send you falling to your death with the hammer, forcing your party to suicide in order to respawn the hammer.

So since last patch, I have noticed that the skill 3 on Cultist’s hammer no longer provides stability, is this an intended change or a new bug introduced to the Cliffside Fractal?

The Skill now simply forms a protective shield around the wielder and the tool tip no longer shows stability either.
Prior to this patch, i believe it also provided at least 4-5 stacks of stability along with the protective shield.

Edit: Another insignificant change was the final ground chests that spawn at (maw, mai trin, molten duo) now open instantly, before they required a 1-2 second commune….

I believe the video was taken by someone on a test server, therefore the gold they have must have just been given to them by Devs/test account.

So I am sure there are many others out there that cannot wait to see what the new set of legendaries look like.

Tracker updated but, nearly a month since Llamas were issued…

I am not sure about the rewards for ESL NA #28
but rewards from AG NA weekly #19 held on 5/11/15 still has not been issued….

I believe there are many areas left to explore. In fact a new map was found in the floor of the Durmand Priory which Wooden Potatoes and that_shaman looked over and discovered many new areas far far away.
So there are definitely plans for a much larger world, it will just take a while for it to come out.

I am hoping that with these items going away, we can get some of the really old ones like bunny ears and maybe some new ones as well.

It was in the gemstore for ages, we had a warning weeks before it was removed.

It was a costume item, not usable during combat and also pre-wardrobe.
Those 2 issues is why many players did not purchase it, now that it can be used in combat and also the skin unlocks, it should be re-released.

Like mentioned above, I would recommend participating in weekly tournaments.
What can be done however is that the mini Llama could be made trade-able specially for the pvpers who care very little about it. Would be nice for them to be able to sell it and also for the other collectors who need them to complete their collections.

Well If you saw the Angry Joe interview about HoT. You would know he mentioned that he would like to take several guilds in his Angry Army and be able to communicate between them so they can do things together. Colin responded that they are working on a system to do that. So no worries everyone it will come in time.

I love and enjoy all of the other people who interviewed Colin that day, these are people who play the game very regularly but do you know which one of them was the most passionate and asked the most relevant questions?

Also OP, I completely agree, an Alliance system is needed.

Same items seems to be re-appearing in the gemstore along with some new ones but the items only released once prior to the wardrobe have been completely ignored.

Please cycle the old items at least once more, even if it is just one old item per week.

This should definitely be fixed, Kiel should not be ressing players if they simply choose to re-log. And even if she does, they should not be allowed to re-enter the fight till a complete reset occurs.

In case you didn’t know, you can still get this event completed and the corresponding achievement item. Just wait for a new patch (10 min announcement) and park one of your characters at the way point. Download the patch and quickly log onto that character and wait till Dobbs gets to the way point and start the event chain. The event chain will bug out after it is completed once on that instance of the map.
Alternatively, in theory you may be able to pop a new instance of the map if you can max out one of them, will require nearly 150 people to organize this.
But much easier to do this when a patch is about to hit.

And yes I totally agree the event should be fixed but in the mean-time this is a solid work-around.

This is a common bug that i have encountered as well, currently a work around is to kill atleast one veteran wurm during the fight.
If you kill at least one veteran wurm, you will get a chest so make a habit of tagging and getting credit for at least one wurm.

Hi,
I wanted to get some follow up on the event, “Protect krewe leader Dobbs as the krewe clears the excavation site”. This takes place near the Rankor Ruins Waypoint in Timberline Falls and, as far I have been able to tell, does not take place anymore.

The merchant, Quinta, is only accessible through completion of this event. Only through Quinta are you able to acquire the Ancient Stone Summit Shoulder Spike which is part of the Treasure Hunter collection.

Can you please provide information when this event will be fixed?

Best way to get this is right after a patch.
As soon as you see a message “Patch coming in 10 mins”
I recommend parking a character at the event waypoint.
Once you download the new patch, quickly login onto the parked character.
Either push the event chain or wait for the krewe leader to come to the event location and complete it.
It bugs out after it is completed once so get your item(s) as soon as it completes,
This is the best work-around since this event has been broken for way too long.

Issue still remains, another friend of mine did not get a chest at Crimson just yesterday.

I noticed Josh issued last batch of minis on May 16th, will the rewards for this tournament be issued in the next wave? or did my team make an error in account name/email where we were left out?

I would really recommend creating a quick Google Docs which can be updated with all pvp tournaments, some sort of a reward tracker that Josh can update and maintain.

So this bug has been there for more than 6 months now, basically you don’t get a guaranteed chest while doing the Crimson wurm.

I have participated in filling all the 3 colors, put in the highest possible self dps in both Phase 1 and 2 and yes I was actively present for the entire duration of the fight.

It seems Crimson wurm only gives you a daily chest on some occasions, where as Cobalt and Amber give you guaranteed daily chest.
The daily chest I am referring to here is the one that pops up right on top of the mini map.

i think it’d be easier to bring back the bunny ears for a week than to spend time making new character models or checking animations for scaled minipets to make sure they dont preform oddly or anything

I rather have them spend their time on permanent content than temporary gem store skins.

I am sure the team that works on gemstore item(s) is not the same as the one creating actual playable content. Either way, an item requested in such high demand should be brought back, its easy revenue that the company can make.

With the expansion only a few months away, would really like if we get the ability to unlock a few more tabs in our Banks.
I currently have a guild bank as well on the side but there are many account bound items that cannot be stored in Guild banks which is understandable however our personal banks should really just have more tabs that we can unlock.

Also please consider making Bloodstone dust, Dragonite Ore and Emperial Fragments into a wallet currency already.

They really need to unlock the account bound minis “on acquire” similar to how many armor/weapon skins work.

I think they really need to work out a better way of sending out these minis.
Both for the community held events and the season rewards.

2-3 weeks is way too long, also something else that needs to be improved is the text when sending out these mails:

Currently it says something along the lines of:
This item is a replacement item for one of your characters….

What it should say:
This item is rewarded to you for winning one or more games in a community held event: Pugquest/Academy Gaming/ESL/Tol3 etc…
or
This item is rewarded to you for ranking in the top 500’s or better in Test Season 2 etc…

This will allow players who earn multiple minis to actually track which rewards are coming from which tournament.

Looking at the buy/sell charts, seems like it dropped down to 30g sell price close to end of March but for some reason climbed right back up.

I think many players are looking for a confirmation that the leaderboard was actually frozen and not just broken as usual for this time of the day.

Test Season should have ended 23 minutes ago.
Next leaderboard update should freeze the score over

Expectations from the Expansion

After several years of pleading, Anet finally announced an expansion and now we are hopefully less than a few months(3-6) away from it.
Now since this will be content we actually will have to buy, I really am hoping for it to bring certain elements to the game which have been missing.
Here is a list I put together:

1. Fractals of the Mist – Beyond 50
Fractals has been an absolute joy to experience but after more than a year of playing the same levels any content will get bland.
a) We really would like additional levels, beyond 50, hopefully up to 100. This will mean, new instabilities, more AR required and mobs become incredibly more difficult.
b) Rework of Rewards, higher difficulty should mean better rewards. Also please add the “Fractal Skin box” supposedly already in the game.
c) New Fractals, yes we still want Abbadon Fractal and more as well, possibly rework the Marionette fight as a final level, each person has to go to one lane etc.

2. New Dungeons
a) At least 2 new dungeons or one new dungeon with 4 paths, make it difficult but make it rewarding. Make the trash mobs worth killing, add a rare drop that comes from them or something so it’s not all about skip skip, stealth past.

3. Final Dragon Modremoth Fight
a) This needs to be Epic, please ensure it is nothing like fighting Zhaitan
b) Make it very difficult, it’s okay if players fail over and over till they find the mechanic
c) Add a severe penalty for failing, the surrounding areas experience more mobs

4. New armor sets and new weapon skins
a) Make these acquirable via content/achievements not from Gemstore

5. Guild Halls and Guild Missions
a) Allow us to deck out the guild halls with NPCs, we should be able to customize the NPCs where they stand, etc..
b) Add New Guild Mission types – Redo Guild Trek tier 3 to also award 1 Commendation, it is an extremely fun mission but sadly no reason to complete it.
c) New Guild Puzzle at least 2 more would be nice – Also add a Mega Boss at the end of Puzzle that guards the final chest( Needs to scale for those smaller guilds)

6. PVP – Heart of the Mist
a) Allow us to queue into rated/unrated matches from outside of Heart of the mIst as well.
Standing around waiting in queue for sometimes up to 10 minutes is a complete waste of time.
This was available pre-pvp map voting patch, please revert this back.

7. WvW – More rewarding
a) the main WvW maps need to be more rewarding than the K-train Eotm.
b) Rework All the Life-time achievements to be somewhat reasonable, currently many are impossible.
c) Allow Each week for us to earn Tickets, even a low amount works, Server coming 1st gets 20 tickets, 2nd gets 15, 3rd gets 10 etc so we can earn those Heroes Weapons
At current rate and how slow the WvW tourneys are, it may take well over 5 years to complete the entire set….

8 New World Bosses
a) Please add new world boss(es) to the game, doing Teq Wurm raids was just amazing trying to get world 1st.
b) Reworking existing World Boss rewards – Allow us to trade 100 Teq spoons for a hoard, make use of existing drops – there are players who have done this content daily since the fight was updated and they still don’t have a single hoard, allow us to make small progress every day and keep the random hoard drop.
c) Reworking Shatterer – All dragons need to be difficult, the fight should be reworked so it’s as epic as Teq.

9 Collections
a) Loved the addition of these but why is there no Legendary collection?
b) How about collections for some super expensive exotics like Infinite light, also sets like the Mists weapons can use their own collection, fractal collection which is there but still bugged?
c) Continue to add more please, even Dye collection, Mini pet collection.

Now I know some of these changes may be too late but a lot of them will be easy additions to the game so please Anet.
What are some of the thing you would like to be added to the game with the expansion?

I have opened 200 stacks in the past 2 days (100 stacks each day) and still no mini puppy.
Since Halloween I have opened well over 700 stacks…

I don’t know what to do at this point, Just opening the stacks itself takes almost all of my play time, Can someone please confirm if they have recently got the mini puppy?
Or am I just wasting gold?

Leader boards have not updated for more than 15 hours now….

It would help if we can figure out what is in common between everyone since no machines in-house reproduce this issue.
What arena are you playing in?
What map is it on?
What state is the game in? (Warmup, playing, postgame)

Evan, this is an account specific issue. Some accounts have this lag while others do not.
You can log into my account and press B by going into a hotjoin and you will notice there is a lag.
Similarly there are many others who have the same issue just like my main account does, however I have tried playing pvp on my alt accounts and there is no lag using the same pc/hardware.

The leader board has not updated now for nearly 9 hours now, this has been an ongoing issue; it should really update in real time specially during a pvp season.

Can you please provide an in-game contact for gw1 who would be willing to send an invite to me and some of my friends?
