You don’t now.

The only way to get gold at a reasonable (and legal) rate now is to exchange real world money for gems and then gems for gold.

As of today you can buy 1 gold for .16 cents from Anet’s gems. Sorry.

Well considering I make upwards of 20g still per temple run and much more than that on the trading post, this post I am quoting is incorrect.

I agree precursor drop rate is absurdly low and its pure RNG…..BUT

People seem to forget that making a legendary should very difficult and time consuming, which is why it is a legendary
It is already quite sad to see every player having 1-2 legendary weapons, making them not so special anymore.
A legendary should take almost a year to make however it doesn’t.
What you are trying to do by using the forge is taking a short cut and hoping you will win the lottery.

Do people cry and kitten about not winning the lottery in real life? Yes some do, but we know how absurd someone will sound if they say that the chance of winning lottery is too low….
Or do most people get a proper job and slowly build their equity.
That is the difference between rolling it from the forge and farming the gold to get one.

Find yourself a good reliable guild that does dungeons extremely fast.
Start with Arah P1 & 2, then AC 1-3 followed by cof 1-2
Now take the gold you earned n put in buy offers for your T6 mats, rinse n repeat daily.

The Dragon looks absolutely awful and it is very disappointing.
When I first saw it, i thought some of the models dint load because it looks like a white box that has wings…Then i asked a few friends who said thats how it is….

I would instead like the option to pick any of the ranks that i have unlocked and use that instead, for example if I wanted to /rank shark in pve, currently I cannot since i am auto-80 =/

The dragon from gw1 was sooooo much cooler and it makes no sense why Anet decided to make it look so hideous in this game. Please fix the Dragon finisher or de-level me back to 60 with no progression.
I want my shark /rank instead or fix the freaking Dragon to be Golden flames just like in GW 1

Gold drops from champs have been dropped from 3-5s to 1-3s….
Is that really that big of a nerf? – I don’t this its even worth mentioning.

Most players make money from champ boxes by getting T6 mats and not the actual gold drop.

Also world bosses seem much easier to me, last night with few players than usual, we went on to kill bosses that usually require a much higher population….how is this possible? Bosses now properly scale.

Lets talk about dailies….
Grinding them was the most boring part of the game and I stopped doing that a long while back, I am actually happy to see the reduction.

What should you be upset with instead?
New content is what is really needed, something like Underworld, Fissure of Woe, Domain of Anguish, Deep, Urgoz Warren….
Those elite areas were so amazing, rewarding are still not part of this game….

Will I still play the game?
Yes, most changes made the game better. In fact it has given me goals to acquire a full set of wardrobe and much more.

There has been no mention of when this npc will appear, I hope they add him in today’s patch so i can free up 53 slots from my bank >.<

That… that is just too many blade shards.

Although, now that I think about it, if I hadn’t scrapped seven stacks I’d have 16 myself.

They were giving 40 each time for winning in tpvp and before i knew it i was swimming in them lol! Now if we can just get the NPC…..

Main problem is that many people send message in their PvE server about upcoming WvW events, which helps get new players in WvW.

Would I go on PvE megaserver map to say : “big rush from ABC on XYZ borderland at 10 today! Hope to see you there!” or “Introduction to WvW for ABC server on X map on [date and time]”. No Wouldn’t want the ennemy to know we are getting ready for something.
Sometimes we have a keep attacked, not enough to defend, send a few people on the PvE maps to gather troops, and people do come and help out.

This ability to easily reach out to PvE population is going to be taken from us.

Even without megaserver, u can have players from other servers guest into your server.
The only solution to the issue u pose is to add “Server chat”
Only the players from the specific server can chat within it.

It’s indicates time spent playing the game. No one has 10k+ AP without having spent a lot of time in GW2. As a rule of thumb, someone who has spent more time playing tends to be better than someone who has spent less time playing. It doesn’t exactly have an overwhelming degree of accuracy, but it’s the best indicator available in game.

This is basically how I would sum up exactly how AP is treated and rightfully so.
The biggest concern a dungeon group would have is to quickly and painlessly complete a dungeon run without having the need to carry a new player.
Without the ability to inspect armor/wep of another player, AP taken as your benchmark to make a somewhat educated guess.

I doubt that you can change how other players will perceive AP unless other information can also be viewed in future. Also I very much doubt Anet would ever add more information on players, for example: How many dungeon runs have the said player done? Average completion time?
This would only lead to more elitism

Are PvP rank finishers going away, or what?

I understand that everyone is gonna get boosted a few ranks up, but I’m not sure should I grind PvP to secure the next rank’s finisher or can I safely assume I’ll be able to get it (and further ones) after April 15

Clarification would be nice, since the blog post doesn’t explain skritt..

You’ll still get the rank emote unlocks.

Does this mean, If I become a dragon, I can still chose to Rank emote with my shark without stomping an enemy?

In otherwords, If I am standing in a Zerg in pve while my rank is a Dragon, I would like to be able to type /rank 7 and a shark should come out

Well I hope there is a comprehensive merchant that will accept any and all collectible account bound items given out during Season 1.
It will make sense leaving that npc so players can trade and get rid of a ton of junk that has been accumulated.
While I do see the point that some players might have deleted some of these items already, One can only hope and this would be a good idea for Anet to keep this consistent merchant(s) going forward for future releases.

No one is asking you to change nor any care is given on my end regarding heedless opinions. Anet is always listening and reading forums – That is the idea behind forums.
It is a channel for players to communicate to the devs and vice versa, it should only contain discussions and concerns about various topics. Which is the whole point of this thread.
Announcements that affect time sensitive in-game content should be relayed in-game via the login page or through mass-mail system present once again “in-game.

Forums are not mandatory, most players don’t have the time to go outside the game and read various threads and hunt for relevant information that gets posted at an arbitrary time into a patch.

All communication should be done in game specially information that is so time sensitive. I am sure it has been mentioned a ton of times even by Devs that an extremely small minority checks these forums.
Disregarding the above fact or disagreeing with the it, doesn’t make it untrue.

How is taking five seconds to click on the News and Announcement forum on the Monday before a patch to see if there is a new post “Hunting Down” information?

Using the forums is mandatory IF you want to be informed. If you are unwilling to go to the forums you obviously do not want to be informed. If you do not want to be informed then you have no one to blame but yourself for being uninformed.

ANet has done their due diligence. Your entire argument is invalid, and that is what makes it untrue, not my disagreement, nor my disregarding it.

The announcement about trading Belongings was made more than a week into the patch, I clearly mention that when i stated, “relevant information that gets posted at an arbitrary time into a patch.”

If information was posted in the patch notes itself then yes I would agree that its posted consistently at the same time and no surprises come along the way that can lead to a major loss for many players.

So its not the question about whether players want to be informed or not, the method of communication is being questioned here. There is no point arguing something you are not comprehending.

Its not in the game yet, re-read this statement:

" Players are encouraged to hold on to these items if they are interested in trading with her when she appears.”

Translation: Hold on to any Living story 1 items that you have acquired since you may be able to trade some of these in the near future with the addition of a new NPC.

The way progression and rewards work in Guild Wars 2 have changed quite a bit since we initially talked about that feature, and our main horizontal progression systems are about to get some additional updates in the upcoming feature pack. Because of that, we are looking into several ways to integrate building your precursor into our new updated reward and progression systems we’re working on, which is requiring additional development time and iteration. As always, we’ll share details on this system once it’s far enough along in production we’re ready to discuss it.

I would also like the merchants to be back, we have nothing to do for 10 days, putting the npcs back in during this time would a nice gesture.
Or just include the ability to trade found belongings to the new npc that will be trading in blade shards as well.

Do not delete yet, regardless of what was posted prior.

Please read the following from the patch notes:

“Rumors tell of a merchant interested in items from major events in Tyria’s recent history, including Blade Shards. Players are encouraged to hold on to these items if they are interested in trading with her when she appears.”

Okay to re-emphasize, focus on the part where it reads “including Blade Shards” which clearly means this npc will accept other items you may have acquired or accumulated so hang on tight.
However, if this NPC fails to provide a trade for the found belongings then yes you and I will truly be out of luck.

Battle of Kyhlo - Treb bug

I’ve never seen this bug, but I have noticed that if a teammate turns the treb before the game starts, it stays in that position when the game starts as well.

This is kind of a minor thing, but it does make a difference since you can get on the treb and hit #2 right away to take off the clock tower’s roof with the default position, but if a teammate moves it, you have to spend time moving the treb back to a decent position.

I am not sure how you are able to interact with a treb before the game starts.
There is no “interact” option if you go to your treb prior to the game starting.

Eh to be honest, I had read the warning that the merchant will go away but the patch usually comes 2-3 hours later so I got up early in hopes to trade in my found belongings and the game was already patched. I would like to get a confirmation from an Anet dev that I am truly out of luck and I should go ahead and delete them.

While I would very much welcome that, I am quite pessimistic when I hear such good news.

Battle of Kyhlo - Treb bug

There is a very annoying bug in Battle of Kyhlo where the enemy team can kill your treb during the game but visually the treb remains intact.
Now here is the troubling part:
1. You cannot use this broken treb since its technically broken.
2. A Repair kit does not spawn since the game thinks the treb is not broken.

Please fix this issue, this has happened now 3 times to my team during the past week while the enemy team is able to repair their treb over and over….

I will try to post more details and figure out exactly what causes the treb to be in this “limbo” state. In the meanwhile, if someone has any idea what causes this, please provide any details.

Very much agreed with OP.
I have expressed my concerns with previous post so I will not dive too much into detail.
If you want to put an achievement that relies on a mass group of players, make it so that it requires the participation of only 50-60% of the map’s cap to achieve it. Also this type of achievement should be permanent and not just available for a 2 week release.

Deleting the character has been the only solution, the issue of this item has to do with the long space between the word “Finisher” and the full stop “.”
In other words, in order to delete the item, you have to type the exact name of the item and since we are limited to one line, we cannot duplicate the name.

This issue isnt elusive, it has to do with when the knights spawn, your knights are spawning 5 mins before the hour. By the time they become vulnerable to damage, 5 mins have already passed and there is no way a map can beat all 3 knights in under 60 secs.
In otherwords, all you have to do is, extend the timer for the achievement from 6 mins to 11 mins. Problem Solved. You’re welcome.

So the achievement requires all 3 knights to be killed in under 60 secs?
That’s not UN-realistic at all, why give us whole 60 secs? Why not make it 1 sec?

Can an Anet Dev confirm that the timer on the knights start right when they spawn?
So in other words, first 5 mins the knight is invulnerable?

This is the Living Story, not a permanent open world raid like Tequatl.

I agree with your reasoning but Anet intended this LS to be quite grand and they wanted all the players to flock to LA. Which is why this content was designed to be both grand and feel epic.
Having the ability to kill the knights and then the hologram with 5 players would just not feel like it was truly epic. Instead it would kill the entire content for me personally.
So with their intention in mind, I feel the knights was a good idea but requiring a large amount of players to kill them was not.
This is why I posted stating getting 30 players per Knight is not that difficult for overflows.
With all that said, would I want them to continually design content that requires me to rely on other players? No, in future updates I would rather like to see the bosses scale as well but for something that is meant to be this epic. It should require a certain threshold of ppl to beat the fight and maybe 30 is not the right number but 5 is also too few.

About 1 week has passed and this achievement is still bugged and is arguably one of the hardest achievements in the game since launch.

Now before I say further, a little bit of background about myself. I am a very hardcore gamer and have been often referred to as an achievement hunter, I have every single living story achievement since launch including Liadri 8 orbs which I managed to get on 2 different accounts. I have all wurm achievements and even the hidden Tequatl achievement.

Now in this patch, Anet decided to introduce a terribly difficult and time-restricted achievement which not only requires a map to be hard capped but requires every player to be dead on during the fight. So now I have to rely on other player’s competence to get an achievement which is based very little of my personal skill but more so of how the overall map performs. To add to this issue, it is a limited time content which has been bugged for more than half its duration already….So even though I ended up beating this encounter now 2 times in under 6 minutes, I have yet to still receive the achievement but instead have wasted several hours of my day spamming to get into overflows which are being filled by specific guilds then wait an entire hour to try it again….

There has now been 3 “fix patches” which were all dedicated to this release and we still have such a major bug revolving this achievement. The only players who have successfully gotten this achievement has done so on the very first day or randomly received the reward by killing one of the knights before the other 2 were even slain….

Now my suggestion is the following: Fix the achievement ASAP or remove it from the game, if you wish to leave the achievement points that were granted to the players who already have it, that’s fine but make it disappear from the UI from them as well. It is utterly ridiculous the way achievements continue to be designed for the 2 week release making it very frustrating for a completionist such as myself.
I hope this post reaches a dev and some action is taken swiftly (meaning within the next 7 days before this patch ends) and an official statement/post release note is added stating the achievement is now fixed.

In my opinion the only justifiable approach is that a properly equipped and skilled five player team should be able to take down a legendary, just like in the dungeons.

Think of this like your open world bosses, did they intend Tequatl to be killed by 5 players? No….
My response is a solution to open world bosses such as the 3 Knights, the 5 man solution will only work in instanced content fights.
30 players will allow the players to still kill knights and keep it some what challenging, where now you no longer need to hard cap a map and have everyone on the same page.

Content should be designed in a way where no more than 80% of the map’s population will be actively participating.
Why? Because there are always players that are on the map which are there for some other reason, there will be players which don’t have the slightest idea of what is even going on in the map and then there are trolls and some individuals that are just not skilled enough – This easily makes up for nearly 20% of most map populations if not more. In other words requiring each night to have 50 dedicated players is basically asking for a failure.

The Knights should only require 30 players and any more should allow that Knight to be melted. If a map stacks players on one knight, that will not allow them to complete the others and that is understandable.

But at its current state, most servers cant even beat the 3 knights, forget the 6 min achievement which is still bugged after 3 patches……….
There is now less than a week left for this event to be completed and no sign of this achievement being fixed.

yup, we had split evenly among all 3 knights and we dropped the Blue and Red in under 2 mins. Green knight however took around 3 mins.
Entire overflow was ecstatic only to find out that there was no achievement awarded…

All i want is an elite dungeon like UW/Fow/DOA etc
Something that is terribly difficult and time consuming(2-3 hrs) But it is quite rewarding.
And when i mean quite rewarding, I mean trash mobs have chance to drop valuable items that can drop at the rate of “rares”
