Seriously why did you nerf mobs so kitten hard in this beta? they are too easy. It was an ok challenge before and we really had to think and use tactics. Now you just jump in and smash like the Hulk. Boring as kitten. Increase the difficulty.
Shiro Tagachi was like a god. Maybe a half-god.
It is to the class as a whole, not to a specific revenant legend.
The change was needed. Customization is really good on revenant now and the possible builds and playstyles have increased.
The only thing they need to do now is tweak all the skills and traits and also reduce the resource cost of some skills. 50 resource for a 2 sec taunt is really bad. Also they need to do something about the resource regen/degen and resource gain by using auto attack.
Odds are you saw the heal skill animation and thought it was a weapon animation.
No. Watch the stream and you’ll see it.
In the Shiro Tagachi stream he was able to use weapon swap. Is this one of their new changes to the class or is it Shiro Tagachi only?
The revenant’s dps is mostly in bursts and from the weapon. The only legend skill that does pretty good damage is Vengeful Hammers. I like the utility skills from the legends, though some of them need a buff. The resource the revenant uses is a problem too, it’s shared with the weapon and the legend skills, which lead to sacrificing damage for utility or vice verse.
The dwarf legend is one of the best legends. The hammer skill is good for dps and the rest are very situational.
The revenant weapon skills are very solo friendly.
The staff is great, very good damage.
I can create a beta character but I can’t create a revenant.
Yes please! Hard Mode on dungeons is needed. Boss fights need to be a lot harder and the fights need more mechanics. The only hard thing in GW2 right now is high level fractals.
Very well-written. I doubt ArenaNet will copy your story, it will mostly likely tie a lot more to GW1 and also the zephyrites. After HoT we will most likely get more living story and then a new expansion in 3 years.
It looks… FLAT! It needs more work, it can’t be final.

Core game is a free bonus to a set Heart of Thorns price to incentivize new players to get the game and not have them pay double.
Your post is pointless.
Nobody misses you. Go away.
Do you work for ArenaNet? Most likely.

Release a version of HoT ONLY and without the core game. No one wants to pay extra for the core game if they already have the game. Yes you’re saying “The core game is for free”, then why the hell is the standard version so kitten expensive? lower the price.
HoT don’t have 1/10 of the content of the core game so why would anyone pay 44,99 euro? If you want bad rep ArenaNet, sure, go ahead don’t change the price.
and 74,99 for deluxe version? Not even the core game deluxe version was that expensive.

The price is too high for the amount of content we are getting.
The current versions are really bad, especially the standard edition for $50. What you get is HoT and the core game (they say core game is included for free, but we all know that is bullkitten. They only want to manipulate the price and charge us more.)
The first problem here is that you don’t get a character slot and the second problem is that you pay too much for less content than the core game and the third is that you get the core game that you don’t need if you already have it, and the fourth is that you only get one code for both the expansion and the core game. So you can’t give away the core game and use the expansion for yourself.
When I first saw the prices I thought like woah ok, and when I saw what was included in the versions I thought it was a joke. Is this really ArenaNet? The same people who made gw1? Nope.
This is an idea for a trait for a mechanic which is used by a few skills. The skills are spirits and they give multiplie boons or conditions depending on the type of spirit.
Well, the idea with this trait is to make them mobile, but they’re not running, they are tethered to your soul through the mist realm. So what it does is linking the spirits to your soul, letting them go inside of you in some way and makes an aura around you for a time, and when the aura ends they plop out of you and become static.
Spirit Link: "Links the existing spirits with your soul through the mist realm, letting them live inside of you, creating an aura which has the same effects as the spirits. When the effect of the trait ends, the spirits will plop outside of you and become static.
The effect of the skill: Your soul attracts nearby friendly spirits to you and lets them enter you within, when they do so they will fly into you and be dragged in with your soul. You will then gain an aura with the colours of the spirits you consumed so people can se the trait is activated. The reverse is happening when the spirits plop out of you.
I think the new picture on Ventari is a hint for the new raid type of content. The story of the raid will most likely be about the past and Ventari’s teachings and how the sylvari came to be and how they got corruped.
Oh wow, a coat again! why do leather type of armor always have to be coats and the leg part looks like a floppy dress. It would be nice with some good looking work pants.
ArenaNet troll players. Only invite a few thousands for beta and tease all the others. Good job ArenaNet.
Why do you even write a newspost about a beta event that only got about a few thousands invited? That’s like 2% or less of the playerbase. Send out emails to those lucky and don’t tease the rest of us.
I’m hyped for Dragonhunter. Speak for yourself!

Yeah, didn’t mention heals for GS. Boons
I have an idea for Necromancer elite spec. It’s about the weapon, utilities, elite and F1 skill.
The Necromancer lacks good raw AoE damage and good support. What Necromancer need is a bit of Guardian, so I think the elite spec will get some influence from there.
- Greatsword will focus on damage and supporting the party with boons.
- Utilities will have more combo fields. Damage and support or cc.
- Elite could be an AoE dmg/heal. “Steal the blood of your enemies, damaging them, and transfer the blood to your allies to heal injuries”
- F1 skill is no longer Death Shroud. Death Shroud is replaced by Reaper’s Scythe.
This new F1 ability will transform your Greatsword into a Scythe, increasing damage, healing and range of all skills.
Please let me know what you think. Thanks!
FFXIV is a very boring game.
I hope they switch between armor types on each reveal. There’s three of every armor type now so makes sense.
Light – Medium – Heavy. My guess would be Engineer too.
Necromancer’s missing role is mostly raw damage, but the current Necromancer isn’t doing his role as support very good. It’s hard to say if ArenaNet want to give Necromancer a support specc or a damage specc.
I could see them doing something like Enchantments from GW1 Ritualist, which is mostly support spells. Enchantments improve your own effectiveness and also your teams, increasing damage, regen or other boons.
I could see this happening. Necromancer do lack a good AoE damage weapon that isn’t condition damage, so I would assume strong AoE damage on the Greatsword.
How do you know Banshee is the Necromencar elite specc?
I farmed in Dry Top and this guy runs toward my mob, kills it and I don’t get contribution. A few seconds later he links beta portal in chat and it was from my mob he looted it. He stole my beta portal! if he hadn’t attacked it I would have been the owner of that portal.
This always happens to me.
Chronomancer will be Weaver in Dota.
“Weaver warps backward to whatever position it was in five seconds earlier—regaining the HP and mana from that time. No effect on cooldown, gold or experience.”
This is really bad. They should cap at 1 and let other people get beta portals!
If that person didn’t get 1 more portal someone else could have got it who needed it. This is really stupid..
Anyone think Interruption builds will be popular in HoT? Mesmer had really good interrupts in GW1, and it looks like Mesmer will get better at interrupts in HoT. The AoE torment/confusion spread is really cool.
This is how it works with all expansions. Buy the expansion and you will get the new content. The core specializations will still be available without the expansion, but not the elite specializations.
Keys also use bag space..
Please make them a currency so they don’t take up so much bag space. It would be much better.
It could be a sign Mesmer is the first class being detailed.
Probably won’t get in.
The Necromancer’s minions are very weak in PvE and they die too easily and you can’t keep them up for long. The cooldown is pretty long as well. I have an idea which has it roots in GW1 and will let the Necromancer keep his minions up easier.
In GW1 you used corpses to summon minions, so as long as you killed enemies you could make new minions and keep them up in fights and after a fight to prepare for the next fight. Minions degenerated over time though, so you had to heal and regenerate them.
My idea for GW2 minions is simple. (PvE only?)
- Summoning skills have no cooldown. You now instead use charges to summon minions.
- Summoning skills gain charges when you kill enemies. When you have full charges you can summon your minion.
- Not all minions requires the same amount of charges. The elite minion needs more charges for example.
- Overcharging – If you have double the charges needed for a summon your minion will be immortal for an amount of time. Let’s say 60 seconds.
Why Overcharging? It’s useful in tougher content like Dungeons, Fractals, Group Events and WvWvW where your minion usually will die very fast. You have to spend double the time for the immortal (60 sec) bonus but it will help you with that type of content.
Minion Master Necro in GW1 was much better and more fun to play. You had mana as resource though and no real cooldown. You summoned minions from corpses and as long as you or your group keep killing monsters you can keep them up all the time.
In GW2 minions are weak and die too easily and you can’t spam them like in GW1.
No one really speccs into more than 2-3 traitlines in the current trait system. Some builds are spread out but that is mostly because of the stats. With stats removed from traits it’s no longer needed.
I agree. I see no reason for it to be 240 radius.. it will only lead to people stacking in corners. I don’t want StackingWars 2
Or they want you to use it on a defensive build. Offensive builds shouldn’t get more survival than they already have, that would only encourage berserker/assassin even more.
It’s perfect as it is.
You will have enough hero points.
I like the whole circle, it’s more aesthetic. Looks and feels better. Must we make everything kindergarten level?
The synergy of the pet and ranger in GW1 was much better. Most ranger skills that affected the ranger also affected the pet and you also had more CC, but pet was mostly a PvP thing in GW1 but it was viable in PvE if you had the right build. No build in GW2 makes the pet viable in PvE unless you do solo content or very small scale content. If you go into dungeons, WvW or large events pets are almost useless.
I don’t know why the pet exist in PvE. Either buff it’s defense and synergy with the ranger by a lot or just make it a SPvP thing.
I feel your pain dude My mesmer build got blown to kingdom-come and made absolutely impossible now, with absolutely no way to build anything even remotely similar.
I spent at least an hour last night going over the dulfy shots of mesmer lines and there is NOTHING that interests me anymore cause whats left I like has been shelved in places I cannot reach or its been removed all together or got it’s functionality completely morphed into something else.
Are you kittening kidding with me? Mesmer got more buffs than nerfs and opened up so many more new possible great builds than bad ones. Interruption/condi on Mesmer will be great now. Same for phantasms and illusions.
Mesmer overall got a very good buff.
Necromancer.. not so much. Minion Master is buffed, but it was a minor buff and nothing huge.
Necromancer in PvE is broken and Ranger with pet in PvE is pretty broken as well. I think it’s totally worth it, if it means to fix broken things, especially a core feature which is classes.
