Example
The first minor trait in Beastmastery could be something like: Sacrifice 5% of your damage and gain the ability to use a pet.So basically make the profession extremely weak unless they trait a specific line?
The ranger is built around having access to the pet. Locking that behind a specific trait would require a complete rebuild of the whole profession.
To gain a pet you would need to sacrifice something else. You’re not weak without the pet, it only defines your playstyle. A lot of people have complained about the pet for over 2 years and the AI for pets sucks. In GW1 the ranger was much more ideal and the pet system there actually worked.
So in HoT there will be core specialisations and elite specialisations. With specialisations really defining how you play I think it would be nice if you only get a pet if you become a beastmaster. If you don’t choose beastmastery you won’t have a pet.

Anyone agree?
not sure where any of this info about ele specialisation has come from other than 100% pure speculation. source?
Obviously trolling.
Elementalist will get an elite specialization and with that new “class” I hope there comes a new conjuration skill. So far the Elementalist got these conjurations available:
- Shield (Earth) [utility]
- Hammer (Lightning) [utility]
- Longbow (Water) [utility]
- Greatsword (Fire) [elite]
Tempest seem to be specialized in Wind, so we can assume Wind Attunement and a new conjuration. Instead of using an existing weapon as conjuration, what if they bring in a scythe or two-handed axe for wind type skills as a conjuration.
What do you think?
I like the changes a lot. Seperating stats from traits is the best move they have done.
Did they really say the only way to get stats is from armor/weapons?
With the new weapons coming with HoT ArenaNet stated that some specializations will get either a two-handed or a one-handed/off-hand. That’s not fair, why should some specializations gain 5 new weapon skills, some 3 new weapon skills and some others 2 weapon skills.
We know mesmer will only get 2 weapon skills because of shield. Why not give the mesmer a dagger also?
Is overpowered. Nerf . He can keep any cap point busy without even being there and when Engineer is there it’s hell.
There should be a forced introduction mode to new SPvPers. Tired of new people and unexperienced players joining ranked and they don’t even know how the mode/modes work. Joined a rank and 3 players only go for kills by roaming and don’t even kill in a cap?? wtf

I agree with the OP. While the idea of Colin may be cool for 1-2 maps sometimes I just want a huge, vast area like a desert where you almost can get lost. The kind of scale of large areas and monumental awe you feel with it only achieved WoW for me.
To a certain extent areas like Lornar’s Pass in GW2, but since draw distance and general size of the instances are ridiculously small – compared to the whole continents of other games – everything feels a bit tiny and negligible. So, in my opinion, they should include maps with a lot of vertical scale, which is a cool idea, but also maps with vast areas and huge mountains etc.
Ever played Vanguard: Saga of Heroes? That mmorpg had a huge game world and you could really get lost in there.
The formulation and grammar in that text is so kittening bad it’s embarassing. Do they really think they can trick people with a text like that?
They count how fast they can kill a boss/group of mobs. Let’s say you’re in AC and the meta to a kill a boss there is 15 seconds and it takes 25 seconds to kill the boss, someone is going to get kicked. Sadly, that is how the berserker meta works nowadays.
6 months ago people were happy if you killed a boss within 1 minute.
They are not included because you already own them.
Why may? It’s a part of the story. After Zhaitan is defeated the story moves on into season 1 and then season 2 and then HoT release.
When will Season 1 be available for replay like Season 2? Season 1 was pretty good and I’d buy the whole season if it was available.
- Glass cannon (full berserker/assassin)
- Condition master (condition damage)
- Bunker (hybrid)
- Support (heals, boons, conditions and control effects)
The black wings are awesome, I really wantt hem. Didn’t they say those 2 days were just a tease?
Hahaha Cloud is a sylvari?
Are you sure you didn’t sell 2 for 13g?
Travel items? Do you mean like the home portal stone?
No. Like the Magic Carpet.
I think travel items should have a tab in the Hero Panel. Easy to choose and easy to use and account wide.
Checkboxes
1. Activated when out of combat.
2. Only activates in cities.
3. Only activates in adventure zones.
If none of them are checked it won’t activate.
I was looking through the wardrobe and find the tribal armour set and some people say it isn’t available, it used to be SPvP and then got removed. Why? it looks really cool.
Bring it back please.
The content in HoT might not be zerker friendly. We don’t know yet, wait and see.
I did arah a week ago, I think it was path 5 and I hadn’t been playing GW2 for like 3 months. I played on my zerker warrior using GS + S/SH and I only went down once. If you time your dodge, block and evades when you need to + use boons and conditions you won’t have a big problem. Also if you use combo fields it will be even better, but I rarely see people use them. Also, we didn’t stack at all through the entire run.
You can play normally with a zerker build and win but it requires you to be a pretty good player.
To do good combo fields and support a lot you will have to sacrifice dps and you can’t be a full zerker. Actually I think a good steady team would do better with maybe 2 support and 3 zerkers. Less risk but more time spent. While a full team of zerkers will have higher risk but spend less time if successful.
As TheDaiBish said we have conditions and boons to use against our enemies. Those are necessary in dungeons if you want to overcome your enemies, without going full zerker or stacking in corners.
I can agree that ArenaNet haven’t been very informative how dungeon combat and tactics work or could work. I’ve seen many mmorpgs where there are videos of the developers doing playthroughs of content to show how it’s done and been pretty informative.
The key to good dungeon gameplay is the use of combos. Use combo fields to create effects that affecting the whole team or affect all enemies. If you want to play very effective in a team without stacking in a corner with full zerker, GW2 combat is pretty difficult to do right and should be rewarded.
The stacking in a corner full zerker mentality type of players are using their surroundings to their advantage, but how it’s done and how effective it is is a joke. ArenaNet should have fixed this kitten a long time ago and they slowly have done so for some dungeons and dungeon paths. Really they should just revamp all dungeons.
This guy is obviously trolling.
And blood legion charr will get the title “Blood Chef”?
Well it was free if you were here when they came out and unlike the first living world arc, at least they are available. For new players and those who missed the whole thing I think they could have a package deal. All 8 for 1000 gems instead of 1600 gems.
Yeah I was there and got them. I doubt others would buy them for 1600, I’m not sure if even I would and I love lore in GW universe.
That package deal would be awesome.
I think a lot of players don’t buy it because of the price, it’s a turn off. There’s a lot of episodes and 200 gems each is too expensive. 75-125 gems is fair for an episode. Not more.
I think Druids should be able to tame some creatures that aren’t animals. Like monsters from the jungle that are influenced by Modremoths power.
It wouldn’t fit. You are commander of the pact, trying to unite different spicies to be your cannon fodder and go in almost certain deaths. I can’t imagine a lot of people would follow the cuttroat and a thief.
Justice system doesn’t belong in GW2.
Why would you base the features of GW2 on the personal story? that’s stupid and will only limit the game. MMORPGS would be better without a linear story.
Its not only that there is a lot more but I tought you would be able to see it. Oh well.
How would you prevent certain players from killing the players in low areas?
How would you solve the difference between lower level players and downscaled ones?
What method would you use to balance the PvE gear since its quite different from PvP gear?
How would you consider food and stacking sigils?
What happens to player who just started with no traits if the run into someone with full traits?
What would determine what stuff gets pickpocketed?
How would soulbound/account-bound stuff and safe/invisible bags influnce this? This is just PvP aspect of the system, there is so much more to consider.
As I said Justice System doesn’t belong here.
It’s a feature you activate to participate in, depending on your actions.
- If you steal and murder (Only NPCs, players can’t be targeted) you’re a criminal.
- If you follow the law like a law abiding citizen you’re safe.
- If you follow the law and apply as a guard you have the rights to arrest criminals and put them in jail, also demand a fee depending on the crime they committed.
- Criminals and Citizen can apply for bounties which makes them a bounty hunter, chase down criminals and be rewarded for it.
I don’t see how PvP is forced?
maybe it would, but player vs. player interaction in PvE areas is a big no-no in GW2´s philosophy.
It’s PvE with some limited PvP.

This would be a fun feature in GW2 if done well! I really enjoy it in ESO right now but I think it would fit in GW2 as well, especially in cities, towns and outposts and maybe in the open as well, because there are a lot of travelling merchants and nobels in Tyria.
Can you imagine? Best feature ever. There is enough mindless killing and farming in GW2, and this feature would add a lot of depth to the game, it would become more of a world and more fun to play.
This would also add open world PvP to a degree as you can choose to become a criminal, a “guard” or just be neutral depending on your actions. The guards would chase down criminals, put them in jail and let them pay a fee depending on their crime(s). Then there could also be bounties and you can apply yourself as bounty hunter to get rewards for catching criminals.
What can you be?
Criminal
Guard
Bounty Hunter
Neutral
What do you think? Would GW2 become a better and more interesting game?
Now i feel like one of those kids crying as they come back home. “sobs* Guild Wars 2, take me back! I don’t want to visit ESO anymore *tears”
Bad community, horrible pvp systems, lullaby quests, and to top it all off, there was no way to keybind any combo keys! (shift+q for example)
<3 Guild wars 2, never again shall i leave you for another MMO
You know you can download mods?
Will you be sending out more beta invites or are those the only invites people will get? I played since GW1, played GW2 since closed beta.
I think there will be one than just 1 beta.
Also did you sign up for the newsletter?
I’ve been signed up since launch of GW2.
I’m a Guild Wars veteran and I didn’t get an invite. Wtf?
Blood Attunement would be cool. Bending blood and stuff.
So I only need to be signed up for newsletter to get it?

I haven’t got an invite. I played since GW1. ArenaNet wtf?
If they want to release it on console they would have to modify it alot to play well on a console. It wouldn’t be the same game as GW2 on PC.
I would play it though, I think it would be better on console.
Ah, it’s the shadow weapons from GW1 Prophecies. I’ve missed them alot. Really nice looking skins.
I’ve wanted a dragon tail as backpack for like 2 years now and all we get is wings, books and toys. I want a real big well made dragon tail. Or a scorpion tail.
