Do you prefer if there was no LW contents?

I love how people praise expansions like they are the greatest thing a game can hope for, why have we been corrupted by this thought all these years?

So if you think of a 6 month(24 weeks) release schedule, we play the game and current X content for 6 month’s straight. No changes rather than bug fixes and maybe some gem store rotation. Just to get that glorious expansion. We wait for it to be released, then BAM. A week or two straight of playing to test out all the “new” stuff. After this point where does it leave us with? “Ohh I really like what they did with X, but I think Y was horrible, overall they should have added more of Z.” Awesome! Now, that this content has been played, we get to play it again for the next 6 months. Until the next big change. Rinse and repeat each 6 months(24 weeks).

So now lets look past the LS content rather than just the “Ohh these 2 weeks are awful, or those 2 weeks were better.” Lets look at it as “Ohh I really enjoyed X, but I hated Y, and really the developers should add more of Z.” In the end after 6 months of this “Living Story” content we as players are left with the same conclusion. But the major difference happens with you get to play each of these content for about 2 weeks. With the amount of changes for 2 weeks, you can try out each of the new stuff in about 5-6 days with an hour or two play times. But then after these 2 weeks, you will get another change to the story in another 2 weeks. Rinse and Repeat each 2 weeks. (0.5 month)

As for the always changing world, this is a part of what makes GuildWars2 amazing. Being able to feel as though what you played 4 weeks ago effects what you are playing now. Or even when we get to what you played 2 years ago effects current events. If you take a look at this as a whole we only gain from a system like this. For once in our gaming lives, we have a game that is changing. A game that we can not feel like we played X hours. But rather our X hours helped make the game where it is today.

TL:DR – Most likely this will not change anyone’s thoughts about the game, but just wanted to let the developers know there are people out there that enjoy the game and the direction it is heading.

I probably wouldn’t use it, but I have no issues with a gem store item to change character race.

If the event is in a level 80 area and I am only a level 30 or so I will for sure die in like 20 seconds if not less then that. and looking around that show me area its way above my level plus there is no way to get around there.

Actually I think all of the events in the LS thus far bump you up to level 80. I know I have been doing them on my alts which are not 80 yet. It is the same system that is used in WvW if you enter the zone and are not the max level.

Bard as a Profession?

I think music based weps could already fit fairly well thematically with the Mesmer class already in the game. You even fire musical notes at people with the underwater trident. Perhaps they could add a musical weapon (like a flute or something) with group buffs, debuffs and confusion based skills?

This would actually work out well. Then a new class would not have to be added, rather just add some weapons to the current class.

Bard as a Profession?

So I know by the latest blog post that no new professions will be implemented any time soon. But I was just thinking about how Musical Instruments have been making a bit of a presence in the game. Thinking back to DAoC and the Bard as a playable class. They really did a great thing with that class, having different instruments that created different songs.

I think something along that line would work very well in GW2. Being able to swap between 4 instruments(like a Elementalist swaps elementals, F1-F4) to play a set of different musical tunes. There could be different tunes for buffing allies, or even damaging enemies.

I think it would be a fun profession to play as. Just seeing what everyone else thinks about it. If you like that idea what 4 types of instruments would you like to see available to play?

Disappointed at AP rewards.

Before AP rewards, I was indifferent about doing Achievements.

Now, I actually look forward to going through the list and crossing off different ones. I think the rewards are perfect. Nothing so crazy that makes me feel like i have to do them. Just the right amount of reward for me to be happy completing them.

While the Engineer has the Toolkit equipped could it benefit from the trait in which you get 90 toughness for wearing a shield? And shield skills recharge faster? Was just thinking it should, since it’s a skill called Gear Shield.

Right now I use the “deposit all collectibles” option to storage my crafting items. The only issue is that every time I do this, I send my mini-pet away as well. Would be great to have an option to not send the mini-pet away but still send all the other collectibles.

Reward for Support Players in WvW

I was wondering if anyone knew if there would be some type of reward in an upcoming patch for people who play support in WvW. I have a decent support/healing Engineer build, where my med packs can heal for almost 2k each. Then along with the elixir gun, and a couple other skills I am constantly putting out heals/condition removals while my team fights on. I am also the person that is running to the front of the lines and reviving people, while keeping enough toughness to not die while reviving.

With the current play I hardly see any loot bags because of not focusing on putting out damage. Just wondering if a developer can consider putting in something where the game could look at healing/reviving done by players and possibly drop a loot bag every now and then.

I do like that I still get rewarded for being part of the events as we go, but would be nice to have a chance at some badges of honor. I consider my part to WvW to be very important in a team progressing forward.
