Because then people could convert gold to gems to buy the expansion. They are a company they do require real money at somepoint to keep producing updates.

So how to know when people just enjoy trolling the forums. A post about F2P gets hundreds of posts in a few hours, while a post with a release date hardly gets anything.

The twitter was an official announcement. I am confused as to why you are still waiting.

It can take up to 72 hours for the transaction to go through. Arena Net was receiving fraudulent charges for the gems so they now wait the 72 hours to be sure the payment will actually process.

It’s not a trial account, look at the video on youtube, it’s the leaked trailer for the announcement, and it says a “limitless adventure”

Is this all you are going to do today, is go back and forth between these two threads trying to stir up things. You can have limitless adventure when you play GW2, on a trial account not so much. But again you are just jumping to conclusions, the game will NOT be going full F2P in the near future. Maybe it will never go fully F2P, there will be restrictions in place that limit what the account can do, just like every other game that has allowed F2P accounts.

Really? This is what you think is going to happen. There has never been a game that went to a subscription after not having one.

Now they may offer something like China where you can pay monthly and get access to things that you would otherwise not have access to. But there is no way they would change a buy to play game to subscription based.

People complained they wanted race specific design which that equals longer development time, which then equals higher price. It really is no shocker at all that it costs what, 4$ more than the other outfit. If they are going to kitten about 4$ than they need to work on priorities.

I have 0 issue with the price. I’m well aware that this type of outfit takes distinctly more time, and I’m actually super excited to buy it when I get home. It’s nice to see race specific skins, I’m one of the many that asked for them.

Love it, there will always be people that complain. Suck it up, you have all the dyes in the game no need to whine “I want something else”. Why do so many people whine, there are some children that act more mature than some of the posters on this forum.

Why can’t people just be like," awesome A-Net is giving out this great gift where you can choose your reward. It doesn’t matter that I already own all the dyes, I know this gift will benefit a lot of people. This is much better than last year just getting the same mini. " Then just move on.

Just be careful in your wording of the refund, to make sure they understand you do not want to lock your account. Which is what normally happens when you ask for a refund.

They would never lock a collection to an item only purchasable by the gem store.

I’m pretty sure they didn’t expect it would take that long to get an expansion and that Anet would allocate all their people to it (except for the gemstore team), bringing no further content for nearly one year.

That part of the community got what they asked for – their lack of foresight does not change that fact.

Really it is a shame, because I wonder if after the expansion was announced off they went to go play another game while waiting for it to be released. While the people that were having fun playing and enjoying the 2 week releases now get to play the same content months at a time waiting for it to be released.

Everything I have seen in this expansion so far I will enjoy. I only wished it was kept to the LS release method, but that model as been left behind for the come and go gamers that want expansions. I am sure after this expansion is released the forums will be plagued with “not enough content” or other such nonsense. This will be from the same people that complained LS was not enough content and for Arena-Net to release expansions.

I really enjoyed the LS release method and I hope that after the expansion is released they can find an equal balance to two week updates + larger update every few months. Maybe that will make the forum peoples happy?

People came on the forums everyday posting about how the game needs an expansion. Posting about how they are quiting because there is no expansion. How the game is horrible without an expansion. This is what happens when games get expansions, there is a large gap between releases. LS3 + two week updates will most likely pick up once the expansion is released, but there may even be a gap between those. If we would have went without an expansion they could have released all of “stuff” in an expansion just in two week intervals. Rather then developing and testing large additions to the game they moderately add in small new features. I do not understand why people could not see that you will get all of the same stuff as an expansion it just happens slowly rather than all at once.

This is why I was against the expansion method, but a large portion of the forum base was for it. So now we wait months for this to come out, we could have already been on LS3 with parts of VB and some specializations released. Just take a break from the game and come back when the expansion comes out.

I have to say that out of ALL of the elite specs and trait lines and skills in this entire game Herald has to be some of the most well designed and creative I have seen. the synergy with other trait lines and skills the class has is nearly perfect. Once a user has hit a threshold they would gain access to a new portion of the forums that only users above a certain point could access. The forums currently are made up of about 20% good feedback, 20% random “i wants”, 40% of “I dislike x and will make sure everyone knows it” then 20% of trolling. (Numbers do not represent any facts at all, but are my opinion on browsing the forums daily.)

The hardest part for the staff is to weed through all the posts finding the 20% good feedback. They really need a section that a user has to earn in order to have access to. Of course this whole idea would get shut down by the vocal 80% that do not ever post positive feedback.

But in the end, I still stick by my thought that the majority of happy people playing the game do not ever touch the forums. So how do you implement a system to weed out the good feedback from the bad? That would be the real issue, rather than trying to say who is a veteran or not.

No idea, but tell you what I would be posting daily with good feedback to get access to it. Mostly I stick to reddit now for a generally less whiny experience.

I think that shield does’t come from the name herald. Both name and shield come from the same root that is Glint.

Yup in thinking Glint is like the shield protecting the races. Then the shield fits in nicely with why the Glint legend should get it.

No need to get testy, lol. I think the reason it was brought up is valid… Most Heralds are seen with a horn, granted not “Warhorn” but as explained, weapons can have multiple fantasies.

But if you do a search for herald, most are seen with some type of horn. Makes sense to question the lack of horn.

Yeah that was my intention exactly, not to start an argument but was really just asking. I like the idea of having a shield and the skills fit perfectly with it. Was just referencing the Herald to a type of instrument, which warhorn fitting as close as can be with the current in game weapon choices.

Would be interesting to see the development plans for the new elite specializations. Like do they pick a weapon then design skills, or do they design skills then choose a weapon.

Was just thinking about how the Herald represents a Bard type play style. Does the warhorn fit better with this or do you think the shield was a good choice? I really like the actions the shield is providing but wonder if those same actions could have been formed around the warhorn.

If a developer happens to be reading this did you all test out warhorn during early development or was the shield thought of right away for the Herald?

Going along with this there is a weapon on the wiki called Keeper’s Herald that is a warhorn.

Nvidia GTX 970 here, things have been running fine since I upgraded last week.

It can take up to 72 hours for the rewards to be applied. If after 3 days nothing has been applied you can open a support ticket to track down the issue.

Some are cheap, some are expensive. You’ll be able to keep multiple up at the same time. A lot of the inspiration for the skills came from what you might find a bard style class doing in other games.

I’ll be showing it all off plus some extra things on the POI this Friday which will give a much better idea of how everything works.

So cool you bring up bard, that is exactly what I thought when reading about it. Very much looking forward to this, between this elite spec and the way Ventari legend works I think I have found my new main.

Good thing you signed the ToS when starting to play the game. The developers have the right at anytime to change parts of the game. Move on from it, when ever the developers have to go back and try to help the people upset with a change it takes away from things moving forward. Things change, if you do not like it go play a single player never updated game.

Sorry to sound not considerate but when ever something changes in the game there are always the people that have the “I want to be compensated for you changing that” mentality.

Apart from admiring how amazing the scenery in the map is. I spent the majority of my time gliding around. Just trying to get to new locations with gliding, I really enjoyed gliding on the middle roots. Although when I would be expecting a solid root and found out it was empty was sad, fell horribly to my death. I participated in any event I came across, they are fun and I think a couple changes to night time events will bring those up to level with daytime.

Overall very excited for this expansion, and can’t wait to try out the next set of elite specs.

Why would you need to craft another Light of Dwayna? There are much cheaper ascended back items to craft.

Well the windows 10 update that is pending on my home PC, looks like it will stay pending for a bit. Thanks for posting this info about Windows 10.

Best bet would be to open a support ticket. From there they can help troubleshoot the issue.

After trying many times, I can finally log in. I have to be sure to not check the “remember my location”. The login will only work if I do not select that option. I tried logging out then checking the box and received the same error. So it definitely looks to be when selection the “remember my location” option. Hope this helps the developers to get this straightened away.

When will SMS Authentication be available?

Starting on July 28th, 2015, we’ll be gradually rolling this feature out for new and existing accounts. New accounts will see the option to add SMS Authentication during the registration process. For existing accounts, you’ll see a message on the launcher inviting you to add authentication once it’s available.

I tried to set up SMS Authentication on my account, but I got an error message.

If you see a message asking you to wait five minutes and try again, it generally means that there have been too many recent attempts to send security codes to the number you’re using. Waiting five minutes before trying again should resolve this error.

You may see an error if our system can’t deliver an authentication code to the number you entered. If the number you’re using is for a regular cell phone or land line, double check the number for accuracy. If the number is for a different kind of phone service, it’s probably not compatible with our system. You can try a different number, or check out the Authenticator App for another great way to protect your account.

I have tried for the last 2 hours, about every 30 minutes. Error still exists.
