Let me see a raise of hands. When was the last time anybody stepped foot in to a GameStop?
Why must all this “expansion” talk always revolve around a boxed commodity. Digital content is best delivered digitally. It is very unlikely that there is anybody playing GW2 or any modern MMO for that matter, that still utilizes their slow dial-up connection as an excuse.
Back on topic: Living Story is just as it was billed. There are no conspiracy theories here to be picked apart. IMO, new content should continue to be delivered this way. I spend a lot of $$ money on the BLTP. I am not excited about having to shell out $50-$70 for an expansion. Especially after I’ve already spent 10 x that much on gems and other items. $$ which is being spent on content for people who haven’t spent a penny since their initial purchase of the game.
Exactly, no reason to sell a boxed product at all. Just release a very large update at the end of every second or third LS. I wish people would just refer to HoT as a large update rather than expansion.
As an asura only player thank you for finally giving us an outfit, that is actually adjusted to our toes and ears. I purchased it immediately. Love it!
Yup this is what I was thinking as well.
Psh, Asura are so much cooler than Dobby.
So as graphically amazing as this game already is, you release such a great outfit. Thank you for giving me a reason to level up my guardian! Some may not like it but it fits the Asura perfectly, no ear clipping at all.
Mightybird the reason no one likes writing out a one or two sentence post is because with all the “I have been gone, what did i miss” posts. The moment it is summed up in two sentences, we get a ohh so nothing has changed at all. It takes a bit to show everything that has changed, or even if the changes are something you will like. The best bet is not to ask what is changed, but to just go and play the game. If you like what you are playing keep playing, if not take another break and check it out in a few more months.
Ran some more tests while fighting the Thrashers. Looks like the shield still does work even if the bubble animation is not there. But the logs would show if this is true or not. I do keep all my graphics at max setting, so I would not think it would hide with only ~20 people fighting the boss.
Some type of notification maybe a splash saying reflected or something would work very well with this.
My main has 4 crafts, the others are spread out among my other alts. I never switched any of my crafts, so I am in no way confused about who has what.
I enjoy the amount of loot I receive, I farmed the entire weekend saving every bag/box. Had over 400 by Sunday night, I was able to go through all the loot with salvaging in under 10 minutes.
Also if you are trying to make a suggestion, rants are not the way for it to be handled. Just seems like a childish not needed post.
So I can not tell if it just a graphical bug or an actual bug. But I have been playing reflect turret and have noticed that if you activate the turret upon dropping it. The shield does not activate 100% of the time. I do not know if the shield is actually working it is just not showing, or if the activation of the turret is canceling out the shield.
Could we add a buff or some notification that I am currently under the bubble and am safe from projectiles? Or could I get a response that the shield is actually working it is just not showing correctly.
So you could get something for free, and yet you want to pay money for it. Paid expansion does not make sense, it could easily be a free large update. Gem store generates enough funds to cover everything no need to bring out a paid expansion that the company has been against since day one.
Changes like this only further alienate the people who enjoy optimizing their gameplay. While I have no problem with changes, it’s just annoying to constantly see combat efficacy in PvE repeatedly decreased as a consequence of something completely irrelevant in another game mode.
Optimizing? So now these people can optimize using the new numbers. By your definition these people should have never been happy, since the numbers could have always been increased which would let them gain even more power. This really makes no sense, they are decreasing the numbers. The max numbers will not exist anymore so there is no difference to optimizing off the new numbers compared to optimizing off the old numbers. The amount of damage will change but again by that logic they should have never been happy, since the numbers could have been increased which would give them a new number to optimize off from.
How does it not make sense to you?
The content itself doesn’t change, but your efficacy in it does. You are still doing the exact same activities but your potential is reduced. Despite your best efforts, you will never be able to outperform your former self.
This is annoying to me and many others.
Hope that helps make sense what I was trying to say.
Then really you should have always been annoyed, since the numbers could have been increased from the start. Going by the “i will not be as good as my former self” moto, then you should most likely not play games that are constantly changing. Because by your moto you will always be upset with the game. If you are looking for something for you to optimize in that never changes, there are games out there that would suit you. GW2 will keep changing, nothing more to say besides that.

Snowflakes will not be a huge problem since they are used in crafting. The others might just have to toss out the clothing, after salvaging.
Use this, best thing you can do is try to organize a map yourself. Just takes a person calling out where the events happen, then with about 30 active people in the zone you can hit T4 fairly easily.

Season 2 has really brought out some great fighting mechanics. This last episode with the shadow and flames really was a great idea. Look forward to seeing other new combat ideas come out in future seasons.
The buff circles are another great idea that adds a thinking layer into the fast paced combat of some fights.
Anyone else have fighting mechanics from Season 2 or 1 they enjoy?
When its ready™
There is a lot of truth in this, it takes a while to prep a patch and make sure systems are ready. Pretty nerve racking ordeal, doesn’t matter how many times you have practiced it. Live servers can be a pain sometimes.
Most likely this will end up getting at least some type of comment from Gaile today. Like others have mentioned this type of hype would be slowed down at least if they knew it would lead to something like bundled season price.
I’ll bet the opposite. Don’t want to steal Pax’s announcement thunder and potentially lose ticket sales.
Promotion is promotion after all.
Pax South has been sold out for months, I do not think someone would not go to Pax just because an announcement was released early. Not saying they should give into the hype train, just that if they know it is leading to a bundled Season pass, might be best to let people know.
I get the whole breaking for Christmas thing, but we’re coming from a break and heading into a.. break?
In what way are we heading into a break? The new patch comes out today.

Assume that there will not be. If there happens to be a merchant, then it will be a pleasant surprise. If there is no merchant than nothing to worry about since you already assumed there would not be one.
Rumors like this always bring out the best of the 1%.
So how is this any different than
Guild Wars 2: Flame and Frost?
Guild Wars 2: Flame and Frost was not trademarked?
Yeah…. and Season 2 didn’t even have a title.
Its because different teams work on different LS episodes.
So a team from Anet went to Ncsoft offices and forced them to trademark a LS episode for the first time just because they felt like it. Makes sense.
If you pay a graphic designer to make a logo for something…. and you don’t put a trademark on it, then this happens:
This was my exact thinking on the new trademark. It is to combat the recent use of artwork.
There are to many open ended statements that I can find. Just because I interpret something one way doesn’t mean ANET will… I’m really requesting someone take note and answer me officially so I do not get banned.
There will never be an official answer, and really there shouldn’t be. The moment the say “Yes they are fine” the next round of arguments will come as well what is “They”.. So Anet comes back “They means auto clickers”. So the arguments continue well if I use an auto clicker to auto click every node in a map this is ok since Anet said auto clickers are ok. Which clearly this is not ok.
This is why you will never get an answer, as you can see from many people in this thread that have a press and hold to open at .5 sec intervals, the same as if you double clicked at those intervals. There is no advantage compared to someone not using it, besides possible lack of wrist injuries.
You have been given an answer by your fellow forum members who have been most likely using these methods for the last 2 years with no issue. If this is not good enough for you, stop posting on the forums open a ticket with support and once they respond, with what is found in the ToS, move on. Not trying to sound mean or anything but it seems like you are just trying to start an argument.
I’d suggest OP contacts support about this, I don’t want to be mean but autoclickers in any form or way are not legal.
Need to read through all the posts, this has been done before. If it is not a 1 click 1 action function then technically it is ban-able. Will they ban you for it, most likely not.
With Logitech you could also use their program to assign a click and hold button that would function like the double clicking. Since this does not give you any advantage, and you need to be present and operating this function to allow it to work I believe you may be in the OK. Really I do not think the CS is out banning people that are just trying to get through the tedious work of opening bags.
But I can say you will never see a CS rep come out and say that something like this is OK. And if you tried to email or enter a support ticket they are going to stick with the 1 click per 1 function ability, along with always being present for any action that is occurring in the game. This goes the same with the debatable use of macros for playing instruments. Since at one point I did email support and received a response that macros are ban-able and it is a 1 click to 1 function action in the game. This is even with many people admitting they use macros to play songs and yet are still in playing the game to this day.
Just have fun in the game, and if something that helps you click through all those bags so that you can get back out in the area whose to say that is wrong.
Just attached the click function to your scroll wheel. Then scroll away, each click of the scroll will be a separate click function so it is fine since its a 1 click 1 function action.
Side note – Editing the registry what a horrible idea to change mouse functions.
Hi there,
Sorry to hear that happened to you. But you did the correct thing in reporting the players, along with blocking them. The chat logs are sent to a A-net CS representative and will be reviewed and acted upon accordingly.
As per the user agreement you can find it here.

leveling in this game is fast and painless.
Leveling in GW is painless and fast. The same applies to getting BiS.
Leveling in GW2, let alone the BiS, are the polar opposites of ‘fast and painless’.It’s not constructive, it’s not helpful and since they’re talking about something the new player can’t really understand (not having experienced it), they are simply turning someone off to a game they might thoroughly enjoy.
Neither is stalking every thread and spamming one’s opinion to supposedly ‘counterbalance’ other people’s (negative) opinions.
Why compare two different games? Because then I could do that as well.
Leveling in GW2 is fast and painless. BiS is only needed for FoTM(high levels).
Leveling in WoW is slow and painfull. BiS, is there even such a thing?
I would almost like to see a you must play X amount of time before posting on the forums. Of course if it were a new account you should be able to post freely. I would only put the limit on non support pages, so if you wanted to post to account/tech help then it would be fine. Also if you got forum reprimanded for some odd reason, you should have to put in X amount of time before posting again.
I really do not think someone who has not played in over a few months to have a constructive comment on the current state of the game.
On my desktop with an SSD the load time is negligible. On my old laptop that I play when out and about, it really is a pain to load twice, then click on the item to get back up into the airship.
If this is to fix players from loading into the zone, depositing the item in a bank. Then always keeping the character in that zone I understand how that could be a problem. A possible solution in the future add an option like the new mail express, where you can select a pass to attach to a character. That way the coding would only need to look at that specific spot rather than looping through the entire inventory to see if the pass is available.
Why would you want to play them? The living story thing has killed this game. Instead of expansions we get some happy tree friends tedious adventure rubbish every month. Oh and some new hats and bags…..
Seeing that the game is alive and doing well means this statement is false. So really he is saying you should play them.
Yes I agree as well, they were fun episodes, can’t wait to see what is next.
I really like Frenzy on my Engie,.
There is a staff in development that showed up on the forums a year ago, it has a raven on it. I think that would be my favorite if it were actually released.
Is there really any reason to make public who the forum specialist are since they mostly are there to report back to ANet? I don’t see why someone needs a tag for that. Having a tag opens up possibilities of them being constantly harassed about being white knights and ANet toadies. Imo, it would be better not to have people publicly labeled as being “semi official” when they have no official function other than collate information and report or linking official posts (which anyone can do).
That is a really thought-provoking comment!
What do others feel about this? I’m very interested in feedback on the subject of making specialists public or not.
This is a very good idea, no need to point out who the people are. All that will do is attract attention and instant labeling.
Really looking forward to this idea, would be great to come to the forums and not have all the negative non constructive posts that are seen on a daily basis.
Maybe they are not trying for a ROI, but to just break even? If this is the case they just found a way to gain unlimited luck without losing money.
I use the G600, have all but 3 of the buttons mapped. I also use a G13, so between the two I never touch my keyboard unless I am typing something. My mouse I have jump, dodge, f1-f4, f-action, and 2 random ones that I switch often depending on what I need at the moment. The G13 I have everything else, using the my thumb to control the joystick for WASD.
pretty much lesson learned here – when a new actual useful item comes out in the gem store resist the urge to buy it.
chances are either itll go on sale as like this deal or a better version will come out at a cheaper price as like the silver-fed machine (500 gems) vs the copper-fed machine (800 gems).
How is this any different than real life? Do not buy a product now, most likely in the future it will go on sale, or a better version will come out. Still shocks me when people just figure this out using a game.
So you make a suggestion then proceed to put down a portion of the player base. Excellent way to try to have people agree with you, but it seems by your post anyone who does not agree with you is automatically a white knight/fanboy.
Well most MMO’s keep getting content and even release full expansions during the holiday season, so they are probably playing those MMO’s.
So what do you consider most? Go ahead and start listing the games. Or are you just trying to stoke the fire on this troll thread?
Could not even go the holiday’s without bad mouthing people for wanting to spend time with their families. I am happy that A-net are taking a break from content during this time.
So the achievements that were added in each LS meta list were not challenging. Should I start linking the multiple posts each day that complain about how hard they are?
So you want to get fast AP to finish off your radiant and hellfire set. Yet they release a way to gain multiple achievement points from the same goal.
Why not just not complete the other repeatable achievements if you are so against them? Or is this a post complaining about there not being enough achievements for you to get your reward?
I am more curious as to why a heavy class is wearing some pieces from light armor. New class!
I just use the unlimited tools on all my characters.. never experienced this issue before.
Seems like the story telling did exactly what it is supposed to do. It keeps you wondering what will happen next, glad to see you are looking forward to the January release to answer all of those cliffhanger questions.

Name one MMO that has followed the leader in the market and done just as well as the leader? It takes companies to branch off in their own direction so we do not just get a reskinned MMO.
(edited by Moderator)
If they have not played in a while, between living story and feature packs there has been a good amount of content added.
How does this take 20 minutes?
Most likely that is the cost of an hour of where he/she works. Then can convert that time spent into gold. Sounds like an easy way for 200 gold.
Centaur race as new playable race confirmed? :-D
I suspect we’ll see housing with the first paid expansion.
Sir, did you just confirm paid expansions coming soon?
Since there will be no paid expansion I think he confirmed no housing.
Although I do believe we will get more added to our personal zone that will be like our personal house.
