That problem is because of low hard drive space. If you remove some stuff and clean up the drive you won’t see that error again.
I don’t know too much about AMD cpus but your quad core is definitely not the problem. It’s the GPU. It looks like the 8200 is an integrated card on the motherboard rather than a dedicated GPU. It was meant for running windows and maybe watching movies, but not games.
^This.
I have a much older dual-core CPU, but my GPU is a Geforce 8800GT.
The log file is located somewhere in “My Documents” or “Documents”, depending on what OS you’re using.
Yes, it will be plenty.
Sorry guys -
I should be more careful with the clean boot links I provide. In MSCONFIG, you should leave the ‘services’ tab alone. It’s better to change those in the services snap-in (which we don’t need to worry about at this point).
What we really want to do is disable start up programs. The procedure is the same, except that you click the ‘Startup’ tab instead of the ‘Services’ tab.
We want to uncheck all non-essential programs (leaving antivirus and HD sound programs enabled should be OK). After un-checking the boxes, click apply and then reboot. Try the game again.
Here are my msconfig settings:
(edited by abomally.2694)
When this happens, what % usage is your CPU using (at the bottom in Task Manager)?
If it is at 100%, look through the processes and kill the one that’s causing it (it will be at 100% usage). If it is GW2, you could try deleting ‘local.dat’ which will be in your documents folder.
Yes, but having tried various settings I came to the conclusion that I can’t do anything about it on my ancient system.
V Man -
Is that the “clean boot” log? If so, there is still quite a bit running.
The reason I usually have people try with a clean boot is that software conflicts can happen fairly often with games. Unfortunately, I don’t really have time to test running GW2 with all the various programs running; so I don’t know which programs cause issues or not.
I do know that GW2 is OK with running Firefox, Avast and Fraps at the same time. I keep my system running as “clean” as possible by turning off all unneeded start up programs (and services).
This is generally a good idea – for me especially because I have a very old gaming machine and need to squeeze every bit of performance out of it that I can.
Spacebatsy -
Something isn’t right with the clean boot.
The following programs are still running at startup and they shouldn’t be with a clean boot:
armsvc.exe
AppleMobileDeviceService.exe
mDNSResponder.exe
ESSVR.EXE
stij.exe <——- looks suspicious
PassThruSvr.exe
PnkBstrA.exe
RichVideo.exe
c2c_service.exe
ExtensionUpdaterService.exe
Personal.exe
Skype.exe
chrome.exe
GamerOSD.exe
jusched.exe
Also, I just noticed that you are running two antivirus programs at the same time. This is problematic because they both tend to fight each other. You should choose one and uninstall the other one (personally I prefer Avast because it causes no issues at all with gaming and is light on resources).
This time when you uncheck the boxes in MSCONFIG, don’t forget to hit ‘Apply’ and reboot.
Edited to add that GamerOSD.exe is known to cause issues with GW2. Make sure to disable or uninstall it.
(edited by abomally.2694)
Check your Nvidia settings in the Nvidia control panel (right-click on the screen).
Make sure that Vsync is turned off.
zizou -
Also, start with a clean boot. But first you have what appears to be a virus (or some type of malware) running.
It’s called “BrowserProtect.exe”. I recommend that you remove it. Here’s a guide to do that:
Download GPU-Z and run it:
http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/
Check the line (around the middle) that says “Bus Interface”. You should see “x16@x16” on that line, meaning that your graphics card is running at full speed.
It’s actually quite easy to install the card in a slower PCI-E slot which will result in low FPS.
Bluescreens are almost always caused by the following:
1) Bad/incorrect device driver.
2) Defective or improperly configured hardware.
It would be easier for us to diagnose if you could provide us with the details shown on the bluescreen. A picture would be even better.
Let’s make it so that Windows won’t restart automatically when a bluescreen occurs:
1. Click the “Start” button.
2. Type “systempropertiesadvanced” without the quotes (EXACTLY as I wrote it).
3. Press ‘Enter’.
4. Click the lowest “Settings” button which is below “Startup and Recovery”.
5. Uncheck the box that says “Automatically restart”.
6. Click “ok” on both of those windows.
Spacebatsy -
I recommend the same for you (clean boot). I see one program that may be interfering with GW2 called “StartManSvc.exe”. I recommend that you remove it. More info here:
V Man -
I see that you have Spybot S&D running in the background. Last time I used that it was really buggy and caused some weird issues. I recommend uninstalling it (at least as a test). After that, you should do a clean boot and try the game again:

Why does GW2 require "Run as Administrator"?
in Account & Technical Support
Posted by: abomally.2694
I have UAC disabled because it’s a useless, annoying, weak attempt to emulate linux type of security which ultimately does nothing but delay whatever it is I am trying to get done.
All of my games are installed on my D partition. This keeps my OS partition used-space reasonably small. One reason for this is to keep my partition image backups small. In the case that I do something that breaks my operating system; I can restore my entire system within about 15 minutes.
I recommend NOT using a limited user account if at all possible. Many programs simply will not work correctly unless they are run on an admin account. Windows fails at (limited) user accounts. Linux does it correctly.
If you are on an admin account, then you likely have some permissions problems.
Fake. Even an “engineering sample” would not be capable of having a multiplier of 80. It’s probably just a bug in CPU-Z. I’ve seen it show incorrect clock readings before.

I don’t have this issue. Unfortunately, I don’t know why you do. It isn’t a problem in the code or everyone would have this problem.
I noticed this bug today.
Normally, it’s not an issue for me because I use TAB a lot. I also noticed that (usually) after using the TAB key the problem goes away for a while.

Something to be aware of, is that memory can be running just “on the edge” of failing and won’t necessarily show as bad in Memtest. Memtest is great for finding completely bad sticks, but it doesn’t really stress the RAM.
I recommend removing some and/or moving the sticks around then testing.
An example of what I’m talking about:
I have 4 sticks (1G X 4) of Kingston Hyper-X DDR RAM (yes – DDR lol). The spec sheet says I can run at 2.5-3-3-7 timings; which actually works fine (I set the timings looser to give a margin of stability: 3-3-3-8).
I can set the timings to 2-3-2-6 and run Memtest multiple passes with no errors. However, if I run a game such as Tomb Raider or GW2, my computer will freeze within 5 minutes.
Another thing you could try is down-clocking your memory as a test.

Something is interfering with the GW2’s ability to access the network.
I recommend starting with a clean boot:
Also, try disabling your firewall or network security software (you may even need to temporarily uninstall it). Either way, something is blocking GW2.
72 C is a reasonable temperature for a modern graphics card under load. I wouldn’t worry about it unless it starts hitting the high 80’s.
I use hardware monitor (shows temps, voltages, fan speeds):
http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html
It’s free.
That’s strange. You can probably uninstall the Nvidia 3D vision in control panel to fix the problem.
This game is 3D capable. Any chance you accidentally enabled the 3D option in the graphics settings?
Various hardware failures can cause a PC to shut down (bad hard drive, video card, motherboard, etc.). Temperature can also be the cause, but that should be easy to check.
However, the most common cause is a failing power supply. The only way you can really test this is to substitute a known good working power supply.
Andrizzay -
Check your RAM timings, speed and voltage in the BIOS. Are you using matched pairs of memory? If not, you should be. If the settings are correct, try the game after removing half the memory. Try moving the RAM sticks around and re-seating them.
File corruption is usually a memory or hard drive issue and if the hard drive was the cause it probably would have completely failed already.
Chipset drivers are also known as “Southbridge” drivers. Try this driver package, it should work (scroll down):
http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M4A785M/#support_Download_30
If that doesn’t work, there is another way that will work. I use an open source program called “Driverpack Solution”. It’s a large download, but I have tested it on Windows XP and 7. It will update your chipset drivers (use ADVANCED mode to see the drivers). Scroll down for the dvd version:

One second on satellite is about the best you’re going to do.
Only other way I can think of would be to use a 3G/4G connection to your computer using your cell phone connection.
I’m talking about a USB cellular modem, like these:
(edited by abomally.2694)
Normally, I mention to do this FIRST (don’t know why I didn’t) – anyway, try a clean boot:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
Edited for better link.
(edited by abomally.2694)
It is a buggy update, don’t install it until MS fixes the problem:
You may want to remove the first link.
As for the problem, it could be corrupted graphics drivers, a failing video card, missing Windows update or possibly another program interfering with the game.
Well, now I was playing for half hour and it crashes, after this it crashed 8 times in 15 minutes…
I attached the log.
From your log:
37B40048 4c01b821 685421cd 70207369 72676f72 !..L.!This progr
37B40058 63206d61 6f6e6e61 65622074 6e757220 am cannot be run
37B40068 206e6920 20534f44 65646f6d 0a0d0d2e in DOS mode….
That indicates a virus/rootkit/maleware infection. The only time I’ve ran into that in error logs is when a computer is infected. It’s possible that you have a rootkit/bootkit, which often won’t show up in regular virus scans.
You should do a couple of rootkit scans. Start with TDSS Killer (made by Kaspersky) – it’s free:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/tdsskiller/
Also, please download MBRcheck (scroll down). Do not worry, it’s a legit program that I use myself:
http://www.malwareremoval.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=55062&start=15
ASWmbr is another bootkit scanner which is made by Avast:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/aswmbr/
If either bootkit scanner results show in red, you have an infected master boot record. If you have a custom boot configuration such as dual boot, MBRcheck will show “unknown” which is OK.
If do have an MBR infection, post back and I will help you remove it (it’s not very difficult in Windows 7).
Is your in-game graphics resolution set correctly?
That picture is 1280 X 1024.
Decided to post some pictures. I would think AOLCraig would have similar performance. The third picture is Lion’s Arch (same graphics settings). My RAM is 4 Gig (4 X 1 gig) Kingston HyperX PC3200.
I have to disagree with the others regarding the performance issue being that his PC is simply too slow. My specs are similar and my performance isn’t too bad – his PC should be performing better than it is – something else is going on.

I use an Athlon 64 dual core CPU and have no issues with the game (FX-60 running at 2.8 Ghz) – other than 16 to 30 Fps in Lion’s Arch – which is to be expected with my system.
Tom -
First, you should open up your case and clean the dust buildup (if any) from the CPU heatsink and fan, as well as any other fans.
I recommend that you remount your CPU heatsink/fan and apply new thermal compound. Sometimes the heatsinks use a thermal pad (they don’t always last) or the existing thermal grease has dried up.
I use Arctic Silver. Radio Shack carries it:
http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2216879
Here are the instructions for using it:
http://www.arcticsilver.com/PDF/appmeth/amd/md/amd_app_method_middle_dot_v1.3.pdf
my game keeps on crashing with the sound recoring again and again please give me a solution fast
You have a whole lot of stuff running when the computer starts.
First, I recommend that you remove the program “BrowserProtect.exe”. According to a lot of internet sites it’s a virus. I have no way of knowing for sure – however, it’s most likely useless junk you don’t need:
http://www.safebro.com/remove-browserprotect-exe-virus
You should also perform a clean boot then try the game again. Running (background) programs often cause problems with games:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/331796
Edited to add: After examining your info further, I highly recommend that you download and run a LEGIT spyware remover, such as Malwarebytes’ Antimalware:
You have a lot of toolbars. Personally, I would uninstall most (if not all) of them. Also, I see an AVG toolbar, but I’m not seeing an antivirus program running (am I missing it?).
I prefer Avast (free) antivirus, but there are several good ones that have free versions.
(edited by abomally.2694)
Here’s the last attachment.
The first thing you should probably try is a clean boot, it may be that some program is interfering with the game:
Any chance that you accidentally turned on “sticky. keys”?
Press the Shift key 5 times, then click ‘Cancel’.
(yes, I had to spell it that way – kitten filter)
(edited by abomally.2694)
Disable MSI Afterburner (or Rivatuner) so that it isn’t running when Windows starts.
Start > type msconfig > uncheck all unneeded start up programs > reboot.
It’s fake.
I still get identical emails for WoW and I haven’t played that since 2010.
In addition to what Amarinth.8534 said, change your render sampling to “Supersample”.
So after I install the new Nvidia 314.22 driver, guild wars 2 graphic been really weird, it say ’’object render at the wrong depth". Anyway to fix it or i have to use the old version again…
Uninstall the Nvidia video drivers.
Reinstall them (clean install) but select CUSTOM install. Uncheck the Nvidia 3D drivers (so they don’t get installed).
elpeter,
Looking at your crash report, I’m suspecting it is bad memory in your system.
I would suggestion running a memory testHere is one way that should work on Windows 7: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/715-memory-diagnostics-tool.html
There are other ways to do a memory test as well.
I’ve tested the RAM, the processor, the SSDs and the graphic card , everything were ok.
I attach the result test of the RAM.
All the hardware is ok.
Despite the fact that Memtest shows no errors; what happens if you restore your memory to the correct (default) speeds?
I suspect that your RAM overclock is causing this issue.
You are not alone, the forum is full of ppl including myself that are experiencing, extreme lags, skills that take 10 sec to activate, then all of the skills in the que activating at once, often leaving my toon dead. My guildies see me teleporting all around them and I see others jumping around me. Suddenly finding myself dead at the bottom of a cliff. Then after several minutes of freezing get d/c to character screen with a 7:11 etc error. I also have had my ISP check all my lines replaced my modem, upload and download speeds have actually increased. I have removed any programs running in the background. Increased my ram, had my system checked by my local tech group and am having my company tech guy coming next week to do a final run through. Has been happening for the last week (have been playing since launch) and as far as I can tell there has been very little word from ANET except they think it is their server issue. My FPS does not seem to vary when I d/c. WvW is almost unplayable and forget dungeons, fractals and personal story line.
I have loved this game and love my guild but I am rapidly loosing heart that ANET will fix this. Especially seeing that the d/c issue has been around for months.
I Must agree with this user! I won’t play again till they fix it!
EDIT: my friend on the same network doesn’t have this issue so what the heck is wrong with my game?
There are quite a bit of ways that Windows networking can get broken. I use an older version of the following program and it works great. I have tested it on XP, Vista and 7 – I haven’t had the opportunity to test it on Windows 8 yet.
Unfortunately, the company that made it no longer exists (Rizone), but it is a very good program. It’s the only tool I use now to repair Windows network issues:
http://www.freewarefiles.com/Rizone-Winsock-Repair_program_56451.html
Make sure to choose the freewarefiles link – the other one is dead.
Definitely a phishing email.
I still get these for World of Warcraft and I haven’t played that since 2010. I also get them for Diablo 3 which I have never played.
“A similar event happened to be during a World of Warcraft patch a few years ago. Everything was running fine, until after a patched and they made some graphics changes. My computer was BSOD constantly in-game. The BSOD was referring to my video RAM and I could run other games just fine.”
Yeah, this is what I’m talking about. I know its a strange failure and that it doesn’t make logical sense; but I have seen some very strange electronics failures that simply defy conventional wisdom.
Maybe this problem is specific to a particular manufacturer, I don’t know. The video card manufacturers get the GPUs and technical information, but they don’t make the GPU chips (in most cases).
So far I haven’t had this issue in the game. My video card is made by Evga. It’s this card:
