Having problems with low FPS to.
I have FX 6300.
Highest setting unplayable in lions arch 18-30FPS.
If i OC my CPU to 4,5GHz or more… does not effect on FPS.If i lower some setting my fps grows to 40+ 50+
Does anyone have FX? It is great CPU….
Thanks for any help.
Your GPU is the bottleneck.
How to determine bottleneck (CPU, GPU):
1. If increasing CPU power (speed, better processor, etc.) doesn’t improve your FPS and lowering graphics options does improve your FPS – your GPU is the bottleneck.
2. If increasing GPU power (speed, better card, etc.) doesn’t improve your FPS and lowering graphics options has no effect – your CPU is the bottleneck.
Of course, both CPU and GPU can bottleneck if they aren’t very fast. In your case, it’s number 1.
Glad you managed to fix the issue.
The error you had indicates a problem with the OS. You may also want to run the system file checker just to make sure all of your important system files are there and the correct versions:

whats a good gaming router and do i need one

In my opinion – no.
If your router is working properly, it won’t be the cause of any lag. I don’t buy the claims from so-called “gaming routers”. What do they supposedly do (as far as packet through-put) that a standard router doesn’t do?
What I’m getting at here, is that a “standard” router isn’t going to have sub-standard performance. It’s not like a standard router is a VW Bug and a “gaming” router is a Porsche, though the sellers of such items want you to think so.
This is usually caused by interference from other running programs.
Use MSCONFIG to disable all unneeded startup programs, reboot and try again.
Msconfig instructions:

It’s similar for Windows 8 except you use the Task Manager to disable start-up programs.

TURN OFF YOUR OVERCLOCK!
If you aren’t willing to do that to troubleshoot this problem…then good luck solving the crash problem.
Same here, though I have no issues logging into the game or forums.
I only use Firefox (version 25.0 now).
Also, I don’t recommend buying a factory overclocked graphics card (OC).
Why pray tell?
Because components can degrade with overclocking. I simply don’t trust that the components will maintain stability as time progresses.
This is not always the case, but I prefer to avoid that possibility and it may in fact be the cause of some of the GPU crashes we see here in the forums.
Well good luck then.
I’m off to play the game because I don’t have any issues with it.
This is a common issue with WiFi and is why you should avoid online gaming with it if at all possible – unless you are literally in the same room as the router.
These days nearly everyone has a wireless router; including my neighbor who (evidently) has the super-powered router from…
Anyway, I don’t game on my laptop, but my connection speed varies all over the place due to interference from the neighbors’ router. I’m really lucky if I can get over 10 Mbps throughput on a 30 Mbps cable internet connection. Heck, I’m lucky if I can manage to connect to the router above 48 Mbps.
Also, I don’t recommend buying a factory overclocked graphics card (OC).

You could try it this way:
Go to Start, type cmd and press ‘enter’ (open a command prompt).
Type the following, then press ‘enter’:
chkdsk c: /F
There’s a space between the : and the /.
It will ask you to schedule a drive check. Type Y for yes and press ‘enter’. Type exit and press ‘enter’. Now reboot.
The patch is 6027 files and about 251 Meg.
That’s something you would need to check in your router, which varies depending on make and model.
However, you should not need to do any port forwarding provided that UPNP (Universal Plug N’ Play) is enabled in your router and the service is running on your computer.
Fault Module Name: StackHash_e8e6
THAT is the module that is crashing GW2. I have no idea what it is though. Your friend may want to do some malware scans.
I’ve been playing since December 2012. I’ve had a total of ONE disconnect in that entire time and I’ve had several play sessions go for 6-8+ hours, although I’m a pretty casual player.
I played for (only) a couple of hours today and experienced no DC’s or any other issues.
So I fixed my problem turns out the culprit was over wolf for team speak 3 hope this helps people
Good deal.
Software conflicts are the cause of many issues. I recommend disabling as many unneeded start-up programs as possible (in some cases, also specific software services). Overwolf is known to cause problems with GW2.
This isn’t a tech support issue, but more of a question. So I’m sorry if this post is in the wrong place.
Is it possible to copy GW2 to another computer – like on a DVD, thumb drive or external hard drive? (Or download it in advance and then move it.)
I’m going to be building a new PC this week (assuming all the parts arrive as expected) and would like to move the game from my current computer instead of having to wait overnight for it to download once the new computer is up and running.
Just copy the whole folder over, make a shortcut and run it. The shear size is the only problem, you’ll need a 32GB USB drive formatted to NTFS (standard FAT32 that USB drives are formatted in can only hold files up to 4GB in size).
^ This. It’s as simple as just copying the folder over, since it hasn’t been on that computer before. YES, I have tested this.

Yeah, Windows Update is kinda’ “hit-or-miss” when it comes to driver updates. I always recommend checking the manufacturer’s website first.
I never recommend buying factory overclocked GPU’s.
Have you tried lowering your GPU clock speeds?
Sounds like virus activity if Windows Explorer is crashing. Good idea to run the system file checker as Xystus suggested.
Is the current GW2 client only going to utilize a total of 4 Gigs of RAM, even if I have more loaded on a 64 bit OS?
Yes, it is limited to that on a 64 bit OS. However, I have never seen GW2 use much more than about 3 gig.
In order to actually run out of memory, you would have to use up all of the RAM and the allocated page file. This is what the page file (virtual memory) is for. You would really have to try pretty hard to use all of the RAM and the virtual memory by running a few apps and GW2.
These OOM errors are either a system configuration issue, OS problem, or some type of hardware failure regarding the RAM.
As sobe.4157 said, the keyword here is quality.
There are a couple of important considerations when buying a power supply for a gaming machine:
1. The amount of current (amps) available on the rail(s) (12 volt rail is most important). On the 12 volt rail(s) aim for at least 30 amps (or more).
2. The amount of switching noise the power supply produces. Low quality power supplies tend to have more noise, which can interfere with how the hardware operates – often the results are unpredictable (crashes, freezes, etc.).
BTW, most (not all) computer manufacturer’s tend to use low quality power supplies not intended for extensive gaming.
Ok just found where the local.dat file is
C://Users/“the user that is log into windows”/AppData/Roaming/GuildWars2/local.dat
That’s not a Windows XP location.
OP – just do a search for the file (make sure to include hidden and system files in the search) and delete it.
That rules out the motherboard as the problem.
Since it’s a Northbridge crash, I’m looking at the GPU as being the problem. Have you tried down-clocking your graphics card?
Another possibility is RAM. Memtest doesn’t really “hammer” your memory like running a game will. You could try removing a stick or two.
It sounds like a monitor (screen) setting. Take a look at its settings – most newer ones have several built-in profiles. See if yours has a setting specifically for games and try that one.
If you aren’t experienced with overclocking, I recommend that you don’t do it. If you do it incorrectly, you can actually hurt performance and cause system instability.
Anyway, you should probably learn a bit more about it if you still want to attempt it:
http://www.pcworld.com/article/198882/overclocking_for_newbies.html
No need to worry regarding the CPU power dissipation and your motherboard. It will handle 125 watts without issue (typical engineering designs provide a 50-100% buffer for things like this). There are probably 200+ power and ground pins on your CPU so the power going to it is actually spread out quite a bit.
Good luck on this issue.
BTW, my ancient motherboard (Asus A8N5X) is handing 130 watts on my CPU no problem.
That card requires more power than your previous video card.
1. What brand and power rating is your power supply?
2. Is the new video card factory overclocked?
“Just adding my two cents in. Since having my PC, closing in on 3 years now, I haven’t had a single issue out of it with exception to Tomb Raider, and now recently Guild Wars 2…”
In your case, you have some type of hardware failure.
I also have Tomb Raider – which I completed without a single crash, glitch or freeze and I played it for hours at a time.
The same goes for Guild Wars 2. I can play for hours (on rare occasions, 6 to 8+ hours) and GW2 doesn’t crash, freeze or glitch in any way at all for me. Sure, (rarely) I’ll see a bit of skill lag but it tends to occur only briefly, then things are back to normal.
I’m a bit skeptical that it’s a hardware issue since Battlefield 3, 4, Metro, STO, Arma 2 and 3, and many many other games. All of them infact. Run perfectly fine without issue. As of now it’s only GW2 giving me the issue. I do have a new motherboard out for delivery at the moment, though, just to be sure
It could certainly be a software/driver issue as well. What I mean by that, is that a piece of software that is running could be interfering with GW2 (and Tomb Raider). This is why I always recommend disabling every possible start up program when running games (MSI Afterburner, Nvidia updater, Adobe, Quicktime, Itunes, etc.).
I generally think that people would try that first, but I’m probably wrong about that.

Good for you.
Funny, but I’m 47, 6’ tall and weigh 185.
So…what WAS your latency (ping) before using Leatrix and after? All the latency fix does is change the default packet ACK frequency from 2 to 1. Before Leatrix came out, I used to do this with a registry key change.
If that minor change was enough to stop your network from dropping out, then it is probably hiding a network issue that should have been fixed in the first place.
Do this:
1. Go to another device (smartphone, iPad, PC, etc.) and change your password ONE more time. Don’t change it after that.
2. Find out what it causing the problem on your computer. I’m willing to bet there’s still malware present or possibly a rootkit. Fix your PC BEFORE you attempt to log into the game or forums with the infected PC.
Yes, your posts could have been a bit easier to read, although I got the basic gist. I was pointing this out with a little bit of humor included.
Find and delete the ‘local.dat’ file. This will clear your graphics and other settings.
The website username and password are the same as the game. If you can log in here, you can log into the game. Might wanna’ double-check your game username and password to make sure they match the ones you’re using here.

Yes, OP – it must be the game. That’s why I can play several hours without a single crash or disconnection (i.e. 6 to 8 hours+).
Look; either you want help troubleshooting this issue with your hardware and can provide us some useful information, OR (of course) you can blame A-net and continue to have problems.
BTW, all it takes is ONE piece of software (or even a driver) to cause a conflict with another piece of software (in this case Guild Wars 2) which can cause a computer problem.
Most of us here are glad to try and help. However, if you don’t want to provide us needed information (crash logs, system info, etc.); well, good luck – we can’t help you.
Read Only – only applies if you are not an administrator.
Take a look at other files on your system. Although they will be ‘read only’ you can still modify or delete them on an account that has admin privileges.
Try it this way:
Install the drivers and software, then disable the software from running at start up (the device will still use the driver). If this causes no issues, then you know the software is likely to blame.
Also, when you do what sirsquishy.8531 suggested; right-click the GW2 shortcut and choose ‘Run as Administrator’ – even if your profile has administrator privileges.

Try re-seating the card. Sometimes the connectors build up a bit of “tarnish” even when the motherboard is boxed up sitting in a warehouse.
Re-seating the card (make sure you have it ALL the way down) kinda’ scrapes the connections and should provide better contact. I usually do this a couple of times when installing cards (even RAM) just to make sure I get solid connections.
Thanks for the lack of information regarding your issue. Obviously, those of us that are techs here can solve it based on what you have provided.
SOLVED !!!
I have uninstalled all recent programs and it’s working now again.
So…you had software conflicts (which is fairly common) but you blamed GW2 (also fairly common)…got it.
This is ONE reason that I often recommend disabling Start-up programs using MSCONFIG. In fact; ANY gaming machine should be setup this way, but TOO MANY people (evidently) seem to think that it isn’t important.
Have you tried the solution here?:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/Solution-To-Black-Screen-Problem-No-Crash
What temperature are your CPU’s running at?
Check with Hardware Monitor:
Try uninstalling your firewall/internet security software. Norton is known to do this. I’m sure it’s just a configuration issue, but uninstalling it will probably resolve the issue.
Edited to add: Turning it off is not enough. It actually still functions despite being turned off.
I don’t see why it wouldn’t be allowed; after all Teamspeak is a third-party application that doesn’t provide any direct advantages over other players.
For those here that have never done any programming; the client would have to be nearly completely rewritten. Yes, it would be nice and could improve the performance a lot. However, I don’t see it happening any time soon.
Furthermore, too many people here (seem) to think that being able to use more memory would help. It won’t. In fact, using excessive amounts of memory (which GW2 doesn’t), is a sign of poor and inefficient programming.
The important thing is getting data from RAM to the GPU. Wasting additional RAM space doesn’t help.
I believe that the main issue here is that the NETWORK portion of the coding is not nearly as efficient as it could be. Most of you aren’t having rendering problems – it’s that the CPU has to process so much information coming from the network. THAT could certainly be more efficient.
I’m encountering this same error. I have dealt with it in the past once and it fixed after re-installing the game.
Two days ago I encountered the “Connection error(s) detected Retrying…” problem and then messed with my router thinking it was the problem. It fixed it temporarily but today I had a massive memory leak with gw2.exe hitting 1 million K on task manager. I closed the game and then when I opened the client the error returned.
1 million K = 1 Gigabyte
That’s a reasonable amount of RAM usage for GW2.
Try removing the overclock from your CPU.
