This is not a Winsock error. In fact, it looks like a memory (RAM) error:
—> System Memory <—
Physical: 5048MB/ 7629MB 66%
That’s not a valid RAM size. You may have a failing stick of memory. You can try re-seating your RAM or (if you have more than one stick) remove one stick and try the game again.
Module: LavasoftTcpService.dll <— module that is crashing the game
You either have a malware infection or you need to uninstall Adaware (made by Lavasoft).
Well, the first thing you should try is updated video drivers, which you can get here:
http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop/legacy?product=Legacy1&os=Windows%20Vista%20-%2064
No. It’s a memory amount limitation, not a problem that changing memory speed will fix.
Did you try re-seating your graphics card?
You may want to do some virus/malware scans.

Those that want to lower the ping rate latency get this software Cfosspeed https://www.cfos.de/en/cfosspeed/cfosspeed.htm been using this software for years.
What the software does!
- Keep your internet fast during heavy upload/download
- Improve your Ping for online games
- Reduce audio/video streaming problems
My advice is NOT to download this, people. If you really want to use something to optimize your internet speeds get TCP Optimizer – it’s free. My advice is still to not “optimize” your network settings at all
Unless you are still using Windows XP, these programs don’t make any good difference and might make things worse. I’ve done a lot of testing in Windows 7, 8 and 10 and found that it’s best to just leave the default OS network settings alone.
Looks like a third-party program is interfering with the game. Disable everything you don’t need running at startup (wow…151 processes running…that’s a lot).

Try re-seating your graphics card.
Good advice.
I would like to mention that you don’t need the software disk for most routers. You can access the configuration using a web browser by typing the IP address of the router in the location bar.
Often, the address is 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 for many common router brands. My Buffalo WHD-600 uses 192.168.11.1, so you may need to check with the manufacturer in some cases.
“Youtube doesn’t use flash anymore.”
Actually, they do – you can force Youtube to use Flash with a Firefox addon. I had to do this for an elderly couple so they could still watch Youtube videos on their ancient desktop. It was simply too slow to handle HTML5.
You could try a DX9 reinstall:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=34429
Re-seat your graphics card and make sure it’s in the correct slot (typically the slot closest to the CPU).
You could disable it from running at start up, but it might still load that DLL when your computer starts (I’m not familiar with that particular program). If that’s the case, an uninstall may be the only way to fix this issue.
The (theoretical) max you’re going to get on a 6 Mbps connection is 750 KB (KBytes) per second – so your download speed isn’t very far off from your max. There’s always some overhead involved, so 500 KBytes/sec is reasonable for your connection.
Yes, for some reasom GW2 is routed through those slow Level3 servers. I ask why? And why do you think our ISP can help us with it? It is out of their reach too. What are we supposed to do? – Contact level3 that they are ruining our game and should go to hell?
This is issue is TOO LARGE for individuals to solve. My girlfriend is in Croatia, me in Slovakia, we both experience this issue! What are we, players, supposed to do? Should EVERYONE who is playing GW2 call their ISPs and bombard them with something that is clearly NOT their fault?
I say, it is your game, so put some people, lawyers, technicians to solve it. YOU have to contact those slow packet lossing servers, not us. It is your business, we are just customers.
Sincerely,
Libor M.
A-net has absolutely NO control over the path data takes from your computer to their servers. None.
You can try the methods here:
http://www.onlinepcsavior.com/how-to-get-rid-of-lavasofttcpservice-dll-virus-from-your-pc/
I would skip the “Spyhunter” installation. If you don’t already have it, install Malwarebytes’ Antimalware (free) and run a full scan:
https://www.malwarebytes.org/antimalware/
If that doesn’t work, you can try JRT (Junkware Removal Tool). I have used this tool a lot for quick cleanup:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/junkware-removal-tool/
Did you try updating your video card drivers?
Run antivirus and malware scans.
Get Malwarebytes’ Antimalware (free) here:
If I were you OP; I’d quit while I was ahead. Don’t buy any more gold and be thankful that you didn’t get a permanent ban.
You knew what was happening and continued doing it. At this point, it’s probably a very good idea for you drop it and just wait out the temporary ban.
Here’s the source of your crash:
Module: LavasoftTcpService.dll
If you don’t have AdAware installed, you have malware. If you do have AdAware installed, you should uninstall it.
It’s internet related, not the game servers.
I played for about 5 hours the other day with no drops – I even ran to the store a couple of times while my character just stood around.
" Overclocking doesn’t go down well with GW2"
This is only an issue if the overclock is not stable. The game doesn’t “know” if your hardware is overclocked or not.
I’ve had no issues here updating the client in nearly 3 years of playing.
It could be related to your ISP’s DNS server. In that case, I recommend using Google’s DNS servers. You should change this in your router. Setting are:
Primary DNS: 8.8.8.8.
Secondary DNS: 8.8.4.4.
1) Yes, your current progress is saved.
2) I’m having no issues running the game on Windows 10 64 bit.
3) I’m not sure on that, but you should be able to move the client where ever you like.
I have the same problem. I’m trying to repair the client now, we’ll see how it goes.
EDIT: I repaired the client but I still get the crash.

Uninstall My Privacy Tools SecureNet and/or delete it – it is crashing the game.
Cpu = Core i5 3 Ghz, RAM = 8 Gig DDR 3 1600 and GPU = GTX460. I was dropping to 45+ FPS on a fairly large event with lots of players and mostly high settings. A GTX660 though would probably do better and is a better choice, IMO.

I had to laugh, but most of the youngsters here won’t get it.
It will run, but very poorly on lowest settings.
I rarely DC but then I have a stable internet connection and a PC that can run the game at the settings I have set.
I love these kinds of posts. It is just like the climate change deniers.
…Looks out window… It is snowing outside so obviously everyone else is just wrong and there is no climate change.
Brainwashing appears to be pretty prevalent in today’s society and no I don’t agree with your assertion.
BTW, I’ve had 3 DC’s total and have been playing the game since Dec 2012 – two of which were my (bad) DSL at the time.
Most likely, it was by malware. NONE of my accounts have ever been “hacked” or compromised in any way and I played WoW for 5 years – this includes email and website passwords. Also, I never share my passwords or login information with anyone. I don’t store that information on my computer because I have it written down.
I’m getting close to 3 years of playing this game with no account issues ever.
There probably isn’t a need for you to defrag because Windows does this automatically – unless you turn off that scheduled task.
Overheating is a hardware issue. Clean the CPU fan and apply new thermal grease. Make sure the case fans are clean too and that the case has good airflow.

My only issue with Windows 10 (3 machines – 2 laptops and a desktop), is that when they are all logged into Microsoft accounts – sharing files between them over the network is unreliable. On the laptop I often have to re-enter the password to connect to one of the machines (the same password, which is stored in the Windows credential).
They will authenticate if I try a few times, but it is annoying. Sometimes they work right away – other times I have to keep clicking the share (“network location not available…”) to finally make the connection. I’ve been gone through registry settings, OS reloads, Security settings and Group policy settings. Nothing seems to solve the issue.
All of these Windows 10 machines seamlessly connect to the Windows 7 machines and vice-versa.
All of these computers worked flawlessly sharing files when I had Windows 7 on them.
No issues playing the game with Windows 10 Pro 64 here.
However, network file sharing is an unreliable pain in the butt so far.
Cannabis is still illegal at the federal level. Federal laws trump state laws.
Disable mouse pointer trails in the mouse settings (control panel).
Update your graphics card drivers.
Module: LavasoftTcpService.dll <— the source of the crash
The crash is caused by AdAware (made by Lavasoft). You should be able to uninstall it through the Control Panel (Programs and Features).
Try re-seating the graphics card a couple of times.
I can’t speak for everyone, but the game runs fine for me on Windows 10 (64 bit Pro).
If by “speedier” you mean “more responsive” – it seems that way to me.
Uninstall Sendori.
Are you running the game at your monitor’s native resolution?
Turn off mouse pointer trails.
Try the game without the CPU overclock.
Try re-seating your graphics card. Also – you may have some type of software conflict or possibly a failing power supply.
I have the exact same GPU as you and I have no issues. Mine is even overclocked and I’m running Windows 10 Pro 64 bit. I have the latest graphics drivers from the Nvidia website.
What temperature is your CPU at when running the game?
thanks for the reply. sucks it cant, the laptop i currently use to play gw2 is breaking down on me. keys not working and such.
You can plug a USB keyboard into it.
