I’ve been guilty of this during my whole time leveling. Most of my interactions with other players was mowing down mobs together.

But then I met her, as we each plunged a greatsword into opposite sides of the centaur our eyes met amidst the blood spray. Hypnotized by the sight of each other we slowly drove our blades deeper into the beast until we met face to face and met with a passionate kiss. It was love at first kill with the centaurs death rattle serenading our union.

And Devs always ask why we need an RP Forum section lol

I guess there’s also the unique perspective for me, I used to run a rather large LAN party in North America and after a decade of interacting with the unwashed masses of “typical gamer land,” I just really don’t want to talk to them anymore. I much prefer to be left alone, I’ll help you on Veterans and Champions and appreciate the same but I really don’t care that you like stuff.

I know that maybe sounds mean….but it’s more ambivalence than malice.

How do you know we’re unwashed? Some of us do bathe

Unfortunately I’m part of a growing guild and the pains currently are that most of them are pretty dead silent
Even I get quiet when I’m out and about being busy but I do tend to yak with people during major battles or in /say during an event where something is fixing to go haywire

Gem price

Posted by: aeonZgamer.5307

aeonZgamer.5307

Karma is abundant
GEMs are fairly easy to come by if you just outright buy them
Gold however…You make an Avg of 15s/Hour during playtime in the mid 40s
Unfortunately most everything is gonna cost 2 – 3s to get and then there’s the materials if you craft that also sucks out your funds so by the end of it all You’ve ran around killing indiscriminately and had fun throughout the whole zone to 100% only to end up with like 30s and this is a 25+ zone it seems a little insulting that you get a TON of Karma and can buy Gems all day long for various needs but when it comes to the conversion rate of Gems → Gold it’s…Well lackluster due to the fact money appears to be the scarce commodity in GW2.
Whatever happened to Platinum? did it downgrade in value so much over 250 years that it’s worthless metal now?

Every where you turn something is bugged/broken… Yes, everything is broken, everything, there isn´t a single event or skill challenge not broken. Seriously, did you actually read what you wrote before hitting the post button? Don´t take this as a personal attack, but it is really a boon that WoW is publishing a new update just now and hopefully reclaiming a lot of the disgruntled hordes who are judging GW2 with extreme bias. Have fun there.

What??

Exactly I agree with you, I’m almost 50 with 2 alts at ~25 and I haven’t come across a bug or broken thing yet.

to be fair, the high level areas are worse. But its like 4-5 items per map at most, hardly outrageous for a massive game after 2 weeks and certainly not something to get all worked up about.

Make this game free 2 play

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: aeonZgamer.5307

aeonZgamer.5307

i have a crazy idea in my mind right now.
the idea is to make this game a full free 2 play game.

first you have the ingame shop.
second you need to redesign the ingame world and loginscreen with ingame banners were you can add gaming related commercials and ads and if people interact with them (press f) they get to the website of the ad or see the commercial video with sound.

free2play is the future of online gaming.
playerbase would shoot up since everyone could and would play it.

edit:
problem is, this game mainly wants to be an esport, right? not like a classic pve mmo.
for this goal it needs a big playerbase and if its f2p it will get big.
i’m not talking about if its worth the $60. (it is definitly)
also you could keep the $60 prize and just make the sPvP part of the game complete f2p for everyone.

edit2:
can’t understand why people don’t like this. you think the game would get worse if it would be free? or you don’t want it to become f2p cause you already payed the $60?
isn’t it obvious that this game will only success and get big in the esport scene if it’s f2p?
ok ingame ads – bad idea.
but this is a competitive type of game. not a classic mmo type of game for role players.
at least make the competitive part, the spvp, complete f2p and accessible for everyone. and the rest, the pve and wvwvw is buyable in the ingame shop.

Here’s another crazy idea Take your theory to other games like this one…oh wait…There’s not another you pay a flat fee and play it pretty much free forever

You can keymap a walk toggle in the options. It’s actually rather useful for caravan escorts so you don’t look silly running 5 feet every 10 seconds, not to mention you get to enjoy that awesome walk animation.

Cool thanks I’ll have to do this most definitely

Just watch out for the gate puzzle in Metrica Province. I nearly pulled out my hair in frustration because of it.

I have a sad need to do this one regardless, but I agree it is maddeningly annoying. However the problem that I have with it the most is that there are certain jumps, that if you don’t make will have you land on a root and kill you forcing you to start over instead of being warped to one of the gateways.

The 3 in Lion’s Arch and the ones in the first 3 Norn zones are good, but Griffonrook Run needs to have the bomb portion removed as I do not think there is a way to avoid combat throughout the entire thing.

3 in Lion’s Arch??? I found the one for the Pirate there’s 2 more?

Yup, one incredible well hidden one (won’t give anything away on that one), and one in back of the cave with the two ogre in it.

Wielding a Greatsword, who does it better? Warrior or Guardian?

Hammers are getting some love down the line, aeon, don’t worry. Some ANet rep confirmed it in another thread.

I actually haven’t tried a greatsword warrior, and I will eventually, but I love my greatsword guardian. I dunno where you guys are getting the “it’s not fluid enough” stuff from. Maybe you’re just not using Leap of Faith in situationally, or don’t understand how well the pull skill at 5 changes the fight to your favor.

There’s casting bars on auto attacks causing slight delays in your fighting, and the skills don’t work that well together.
Great Sword Guardians feel like they were given a bunch of skills that were all somewhat situational as opposed to being skills that just worked well together to form a solid fighting skill set.

Plus their dmg (outside of their roflcoptor move) feels a bit on the low side to me compared to my Warrior.

I do hope hammer does get some love, the casting bar on the third auto attack swing is too long feels very clunky, most of the moves just don’t feel fluid it feels too slow. I just really don’t like the weapon though it has some really amazing skills, namely the banish skill and the ring of warding skill.

Yeah I would prefer if you just lept up into the air and slammed the hammer down on their heads doing the same thing to speed things up and trade off between bar and down time on Hammers
I miss my hammer….But on another note my 1h Weapon with my Shield is a Sword and hoooboy is this thing nasty it’s extremely efficient in dispatching something 1v1

Size issues and clipping?

in Norn

Posted by: aeonZgamer.5307

aeonZgamer.5307

For balance reasons, all the PC races have identical hit-box sizes. That’s why you can squeeze under things that are only as tall as your shoulders. The problem is the camera perspective, and when you do that kind of squeezing the camera things it’s backed into a wall. ANET needs to move the camera focus to about the waste level to mitigate it imo.

reminds of this quest I did for a Giant the other day in-game I HEARD something talking but it was the same coloring as the surroundings so I was like What where who?
So I had to pan the camera 8 miles up to see this guy but the stupid tree nearby kept clipping my camera freaking it out
