Nevermore IV;

The Friend of Rabbits required event was disabled (as far as I know) when bundles were deemed too confusing to new players, as the New Player Experience (NPE) were introduced back in September 2014’s Feature Pack. This event has in other words not been active for over a year, and you chose to include that in the Nevermore IV collection? That quite simply blows my mind.

Danador also does no sell the Friend of the Pups trophy, but rather the Friend of the Hounds one, which is said to be given from doing the event that occurs. I assume it gives the Friend of the Hounds if you don’t purchase it from Danador before doing the event, as I have seen someone link having 2 Friend of the Hounds. I purchased mine before doing the event, and the event rewarded me with nothing for the Collection. This should have been a easy hotfix to replace the wrongful item on the Heart vendor btw.—not sure what’s taking so long.

Not progress blocking bugs, but worth mentioning;

Friend of the Owl Spirit requires you to fail up to two events, before you can start on a four-event chain that will grant this item. For one, the description is wrong and the two Owl trophies are switched around. Secondly, you don’t get the item on defeating the Svanir Hunters (after failing the Beast event, then the Shaman event), but rather after going through defeating the Hunters, then escorting Ulgadis as she mends snow owls, then escorting her again to defeat the Shaman, then helping her destroy the totem, at which point you finally get the trophy.

The bigger problem is the need to fail an event, in a rather heavily traffic’ed lower level zone. Not forgetting that it needs the first event, to be completed, in order to get the other trophy. That creates problems with players needing the event to fail for one trophy, and players wanting to do the event to get the other trophy (besides the numerous people just going through doing the event, because it’s an event). You are creating toxicity and animosity among players when one side just does what the game has been teaching them, to complete events, and another side doesn’t want it to be completed. Those who needs the event(s) to fail, get overly frustrated with the players who come through and won’t listen to any sort of plead for letting the current event fail. I had to wait until 4:45-5:00 AM in the morning to be able to do it. That’s a ridiculous requirement. And then there’s the direct grievers. The “trolls”. Like some, admittedly slightly funny in name, “Never Getting More” character that camped the events last night and completed them just out of spite to the 10-12 players standing there wanting and asking for players to let it fail so that a four-chain event can start.

You really need to rework these stages of the Collection(s). It takes the “in Guild Wars 2, you are happy to see other players” (which is not really always the case with poor scaling on some events, but anyways—) and turns it into the complete opposite. You start resenting other players and want them to go away. Some people deal with it better than others. I tried to ask nicely. Other players got really frustrated and started cursing out the players who didn’t want to listen when asked to stop. I don’t want to see that in Guild Wars 2. Don’t make the “friendliest MMO Community” do a 180 because of a poor design decision, please. It should be obvious how easy it is for people to be destructive and for them to grief on a setup like that as well.

If they don’t fix all progress blocking bugs by tuesday, be it story or collections, that would be rhe proof of Anet’s decline. So many things they have done right, but at the moment it just seems like they are 1/4 of their size in terms of employees compared to release.

What happened to this awesome Dev Studio, which once created Guild Wars 1 and Guild Wars 2 a long time ago..?

This is just a guess (since i have only been playing since last year): After the creation and designing of content most developers either left or were laid off for profit maximization. For almost any firm, salaries are the biggest costs and they did not need as much manpower since the game was “finished”

Now they may or may not be enough to manage such a large game but one think I do know is that respond kitten fast to tickets but fixes come months later.

Either that or the artificial timegate conapiracy is real.

I… dont know whats happening to me. Every morning I wake up and the pick up the phone to see if there was a patch. Then I see this raven outside the window, staring at me menacingly. sigh disappointed me moves on with his average life knowing that he will live another day, without his fancy branch that he spent 6 months of savings and a full weekend on.

Nobody is dying because of this bug, except the people of this thread, slowly, inside…
Will christmas bring raven’s gift? Will it be after queen elizabeth is no more? Or is it sooner than we think? The wait continues…

All collections need the trophy so it probably counted towards another one. Killing more shrooms is the solution.

No item for strealth gliding. Just dodge while gliding on a ranger.

I know there are multiple threads on this matter but still no fix from anet despite the 5 day wait. Makes me wonder if they have even acknowledged the issue. Here are the bugs, again:

Friend of rabbits: The associated event needed for this event does not happen. Some say it has been bugged for the last 6 months. Nobody has seen it occur.

Friend of the pups: The associated NPC does not sell this trophy. Instead sells Friend of the hounds which can also be obtained through completion of the dynamic event.

Friend of the Owls: The associated event (kill jormag minions) gives friend of the owl spirit trophy instead. Basically the hint tooltips are mixed with each other. Also note that the original event for friend of the owl spirit (kill svanir) requires 2 events to fail consecutively making it really counter intuitive. We shouldnt have to tell new players to not the events.

Would help if you guys kept this and other topics up.

That’s because MF stones were bugged for a couple of days as they weren’t account bound. Then it was fixed so they’Re account bound. I know because same tthing happened with fulgurite after i had bought 100 of them.

Can confirm that:
NPC is giving friend of hounds, making friend of pups unobtainable.
Shoo Rabbits of Shaemoor event for friend of rabbits is NOT happening.
Got friend of owls (hint: kill svanir…) by doing the kill jormag minions event. Makes me wonder if doing kill svanir event gives the same trophy, making gift of owl spirit unobtainable? Not to mention svanir event only happens when jormag fails, which is pretty much IMPOSSIBLE because people come and do it.

Similar problem with friend of the hounds / friend of the pups. event gives hound item and NPC also sells hound item. cannot obtain pups. Also, i think shoo rabbits from shaemoor event is bugged, it just never occurs.

? too really enjoy the playstyle of terrormancer. At least the way I play it is similar to that of mesmer. Really brings necro to a different level. Gonna state the less popular opinion here: Terror does not need a rework. Do I miss path of corruption? Yes I do but its not a gamechanger. With buffed scepter we have enough burst at the moment for the level of our tankiness. Personally I think terrormancer atm is almost as effective as cele signets. All pretty standard choices. Terrormancer is much more durable compared to pre June (though burst has also gone up across all classes)

so… why not just put ‘high quality models’ to low/lowest when in wvw… its does pretty much the same thing as the tick box.

I use it for playing thief in a blob.

That’s… not even close. Look at ranked arena models who all have nice standard armour and faces. Then look at low Q wvw models. Those models are like placeholders that are just placeholders. Their animations are all the same. For instancr, if they are ressing somebody they look like they are punching a wall while holding a GS with one hand. The entire point of my suggestion was to read animations better, not destroy them.

Hello generals, soldiers and scouts

Today I want to address the issue of the absence of standard enemy models in WvW which I am sure has been spoken about before but I came to the point where I felt the urge to put this in word myself. I do raids, roaming, pvp and a little bit of pve but what I enjoy most is roaming. It’s full of great duels, sabotaging enemy objectives, reporting enemy position etc. appeals to me. However I constantly get frustrated in this mode not because I’m often outnumbered 1v2 or 1v3 but because no matter how much attention I pay in fights, there will ALWAYS be an asura who destroys me constantly. 3/8 of my chars are asura and I even had a 2nd warrior at some point who was an asura.

Problem is that even the most obvious animations such as warrior hammer F1 simply are hard to notice. I played with my asura warr for a long time in unranked pvp and roaming. Haven’t kept record but I would successfully land my attacks at least 25% more. Now I’m back to charr and while I still have success against non-asuras, It is very hard to dodge their important skills. What this tells me is that a developer such as Anet which favors skill over equipment or interface add-ons simply does not care about the competitive scene except for ranked PvP. I know they’re bringing guild hall arenas which is nice for GvGs, but for roaming the problem remains.

It is such an easy thing to bring the option to have standard enemy models that I cannot comprehend why it has not been implemented. Roaming is arguably the least popular pvp activity in-game and it is a shame that I do it less and less everyday. I love pvp but conquest gets boring after a while. I’d like to hear your thoughts on the matter. I know some people will say:

-WvW is meant to be for large scale battles only
-Anet won’t earn money cause people wont bother with gems if models are standardized
-Go ranked pvp, problem solved
-Roll an asura yourself, it’s all fair

I have noticed that elementalist conjure lightning hammer skill #5 (static field) stuns friendly NPCs and player miniatures that cross the cage. It may not be limited to these two objects…. Tried with staff skill as well, no problems there.

I doubt more survivability will be needed as a necromancer, I mean we do have 2 lifebars. But who knows… Still possible to cut down precision if you are hitting 30% without fury (because crit per vuln trait).

You are exaggerating the nerf OP. Ele is still meta. Even if it wasnt who cares? Necros and rangers have been getting kicked from pugs for at least 2 years. Still have longest stun, best AoE and best ranged DPS maybe even best single target DPS idk. If you really wanna go healer, create all welcome parties. Your complaint just sounds like LFG used wrong.

You couldnt even take renewing stamina and arcane shield until june 23rd. Eles were still very viable in the meta and arent any weaker now with the baselined stuff. Might on cantrip could have been a duration reduction yes. Renewing stamina on the other hand is just straight up OP for adept line. I’d take it anyday over any other adept trait. Also as pointed above, nobody balanced around WvW.

lost half second from chain 1 and 2. But chain 3 now has 5s bleed, longer poison. And skill 3 gets a potential 7 stacks of torment for kitten . Skill 2 received another stack in pvp which is a 33% buff. These are huge.

The lingering curse nerf i dont get either, people werent using it in pvp, and it wasnt OP or anything in PvE. PU was also reduced from 100 to 50% and i cant remember a single complaint about LC.

I must say that since the Specialization patch, we have been on the right track in terms of both effectiveness and build diversity.

Today I have tried a variation of the old terrormancer and oh boy does it hit hard. I’m not even sure if we need terror over master of corruptions since torment on scepter 3 changes a lot. This is what I’m using though I’m not sure about sigils.

A whopping perma +3000 toughness along with weakness makes you very durable to direct damage. Not even gonna talk about 0 condi threat. Maybe I had a few good games but so far it seems to me like it’s close to the signet build. I’d like to hear your thoughts. One thing I personally dislike is how you can’t safe-stomp in 1 go because FitG is like half a second too short for that. Would be nice to get 1/2s extension or make DS entry/exit not interrupt stomps and rezzes.

I am pretty sure that you can explain us why Icebow 4 was nerfed (by more than 50% after testing) in sPvP.

Icebow 4 did 10 times the DPS of any class in PvE. Anet refuses to separate skills in different game modes as they have been normalizing things.

I know you think it is wrong, but its not like anyone used icebow in PvP. I saw 1 ele out of maybe 100 that took it (mind you this is unranked). Would you be mad if conjure flame axe auto damage or something was nerfed by 50%? I doubt it.

Ho travelers, necro main here! Since the specialisation patch on June 23rd I have been playing a lot of elementalist as I found it to be really fun and somewhat OP. Felt so easy to have perma vigor and so many evade frames, mobility etc. after necromancer.

Since Irenio announced the upcoming nerfs I saw many complaining for no reason, all nerfs were justified and I am open to debate / convince you why for each of them but that’s not why I’m here.

I decided to put together the fights I’ve recorded in the past month to remember how out of line the spec used to be. I will be going back to my main now that more balance is in place ^^ I have a lot more footage but didnt want a long video so here you go:

Since the skill was fixed to work correctly with Superior Rune of Vampirism it is not possible to see the death info in PvP. It only shows which skills damaged you after you have used vapor form (downed skill 2).

Stone heart staff is known but I think OP wrote down somr important synergies.
Personally I think the rune is a bit reduntant as out HP pool is low, that much regen is overkill especially when you can pull off ether renewal with rock solid. I like pack runes for more raw damage. I also think 3 stability is overkill so I take arcane wave over armor of earth for extra blast finisher. Its a difficult build to utilize at full capacity. I was also thinking taking lightning hammer instead of arcane wave and camp earth while dishing damage but may not work in practice.

Well, the things that really brought the DD Cele out of line was the fact that burning started stacking, elemental atunment baseline and the introduction of more passive mitigation. They also mega buffed the fire trait line.

While burning stacking is a good change overall as it opens up builds on a lot of classes in both PvP and PvE, the issue is that they did not really consider stacking so much of it on a might stacking and heavily sustainable build.

The proper course of action here is to pass over Ele fire skills and reduce burning duration and stacks.
- Cleansing fire reduced stacks from 3 to 2
- Ring of fire reduced stacks from 3 to 2
- Drakes breath reduced duration by 1-2 seconds

As far as the sustain goes, I think that starting off with an increased ICD on the ice aura proc and possibly reduced protection duration on the EA earth swap would go a long way as it would open up more of a timing for a spike on the ele.
Also, an interesting thing to consider would be removing the regeneration from the Cantrip mastery and replacing it with a different boon, because Ele is so stacked against conditions that it is virtually immune.

Now we are talking. This guy knows the underlying problems. However drake’s breath was nerfed already so I think its better to remove evade on burning speed for 2 reasons. 1) Drake’s breath is a long channel so its interruptable etc. 2) Fire is ele’s offensive attunement so with damage should come risk. But you got a lot of evades and blinds so its so low risk while bursting. That needs to be toned down. (Same with imba stealth burst from xyz class). It’s fine that the class has the defensive options it needs due to the low health pool. But the damage shouldn’t be this high.

Ele is my 4th prof in terms of gameplay hours and I am by far best in pvp with her.Not even champion magus yet I frequently win against 1v2s while holding a point (warr thief , thief thief, ranger thief etc.). 1v1 I would only lose to a signet necro with +75% life force. And by losing I mean running away to help a different point. While I’m on an other class against an ele, there is no way I’ll beat him. You either have to 2v1 stunlock or just don’t bother.

I get the exact same experience as OP. Guard facerolls then spams evades blocks and invulns. I dont use soul marks on cele signetmancer so what I’ll do is blow locust swarm and AFK. If they somehow put +3 condis on me, plague signet procs from trait and its GG. If they only spam burn tho, I’ll succumb to my inevitable afterlife…

[WvW] What is the optimal backliner build?

Your build is fine as a WvW backliner, although I would recommend shooting for 45-50% crit. That way when you go into DS, you’ll be at 95-100% crit. I personally like Death Magic and Curses better, but when in ZvZ or GvG situations, I’m forced to take Blood Magic for the reduced wells cooldown. Because that’s what your raid needs you for…big well bombs. So you just work your build around knowing what you’re expected to do, and try to squeeze as much dps out there as you can.

That’s another reason to shoot for 50% crit because you can drop the wells, go into DS, and ensure you have 100% crit on your well bombs.

I can see how death magic is a nice defensive line but what’s good in curses for a backliner?

My crit chance is 30 on staff and 39 on dagger because of my party comp (2g 2n-pack runes 1w) I am able to maintain some nice in-combat fury. Unless stripped, my wells + life transfer bomb is full crit. But I just recently switched from axe to dagger and thus I’m using dagger autoattack more actively so by time I’ll convert some valkyries to zerk.
