they will get respect when they stop buffing the warrior, yes warrior has some weak skill but they have the most OP skills as well and have recieved nothing but buffs lately.

if Anet is buffing the most OP class there is instead of fixing the weakest class there is atm. then they arent getting my respect.

=( got through 3 of the fragment dungeons. and on the 4th one at boss. we had 1 person d/c.
well…they cant get back in cause of how the dungeon is set up and there is no way in hell we leaving now when we so close to next level.
so we push on.
boss is at 25% hp.
and we all d/c.

logg back in thinking crap crap crap. find out whole group d/ced (which made me feel a bit better) and then realize that although we got through 3 of the dungeons.we cant get to next level cause 4th didnt finish.

3 people rage quit(it was a rough run) and the other 2 of us sat there thinking of reason why Anet would switch from the reenterable dungeon model. to the d/c once and u screwed model.

can we please get an answer? my extremely beat up pets would like one 2….and a bone…

GS, even wit hmaul and counter, does less dmg than 1h sword. well actually they do same dmg per hit but GS is half as fast.

we still gonna get murdered in PvP and WvW.
plus you added time to ranger traps? so the ONLY currently fuction build, the trap ranger is now fail.

you buffed warrior to hell!

None of the core faults (for PvP) of our class were even addressed:
1. Pets
2. Longbow
3. Missile speed
4. Spirits will still instant die
5. Obstructed shots
6. kitten weapons

and did anyone else notice greatsword still does HALF the dmg of 1h sword (same dmg hit for hit but it half as fast as 1h sword)

no, but i got a challenge for you. go in PvP. use quickness and then hundred blade.

you just did 30k dmg in 2 secounds.

in WvW with the render issue and all the conditions being thrown around like cripple, that is a 1 hit guarentee. which is why i despise it.
at least with kill shot you have 2 secounds in which u have to charge the shot and they can prepare to evade.

and dont go into WvW, you will see alot of warriors…and thiefs…actually i kinda like the thiefs…they go down quick.

eh…right now majority of people use warrior so i wouldnt put my money o nthem adding new animations. they focusing on makign the less used classes appealing.

since warrior has skills like 100b strike, kill shot, and whirling axes(or whatever) it has a pretty high fan base. oh..and aimed rifle shot(cause more people like aimign the rifle than using it liek a 1 bullet shotgun)

once people start playing other classes(hopefuly alot of rangers after this ranger patch today) then they can focus on changing animations.

i doubt they will want ot throw away thier animations they have right now, but an idea would be to make a new animation for a skill if it hits a critical.

ok now that we have listen some easy ways to kill thiefs, i have a funny video for you.

some people have convinced themselfs that thief is all powerful and can kill anything with ease by using just 1 and 2 skills.

apparently they think thief beats elementalist or warrior. and dont realize that thief is a low hp target that is onyl good at melee,
elementalist isnt ment to tank(though they think it is apparently)

and the warrior…idk they must be pretty bad at the game to be bad at the class. i tried ot make the worse build ever with it and still ended up with something that could out dps most.

watch the video and get a laugh =)
then again, if they believe it we will have more squishy targets to shoot.

Killing thieves?

favorite way to kill thiefs, lightning evade to get away from them, entangle to force them to stealth or else they will be stuck there(in which case i shortbow them dead)

wolf with fear to send them running and open up a clean line of sight to shoot them.
and muddy terrain to cripple/immoblize them.

thiefs have low hp so if you can get some hits on them they will usually run. long as you survive thier innitial dmg burst at least.
if they run then killing them is really easy, send a wolf to knock them down or cripple them and shortbow thier behind off.

lightning evade will usually save you from their burst as they tend to steal, stealth and then backstab you, if you dodge back then thier backstab misses, and they need to turn around to aim at you.

entangle is just ot annoy them when they have steal on cooldown and thier only option is to somehow stealth(and waste either initiative or a utility) or stand there and die

basicly to kill a thief you need ot drag the battle out so they are low on int and thier utility skills are on cooldown. if you do that and stay at ranger then it is really easy to kill them.

frost wolf + fear wolf combo with this stratagy has gotten me 7/8 thief kills so far. the 8th only escapign by spammign heartseeker to run away…i swear they must have stealthed or logged out at some point cause i never foudn them after they ran.

also, if you are with a ally, a thief will either not bother attacking you or go down quick.
remember a thief’s weakness is they have low hp, medium armor, and rely on bursts to do dmg, remove the burst and they jsut a elementalist without magic.

and as someone pointed out recently, entangle them and then have pet fear them, they will not be able to move, or use skills for the time they feared. and they will turn thier back to you, which helps shortbow greatly.

ok for everyone complaining about stealth classes having no cooldown, they have a 3 secound cooldown starting aftet stealth ends in which they can not restealth, making them vulnerable.

it seems longer because the graphics engine in WvW is so bad it takes 2 of thsoe 3 secounds to render the thief if it wasnt already rendered.

stealth itself is buggy, that 3 secound cooldown can start before the stealth starts makign stealth fail to go. and the short time on stealth means that having a skill that reveals stealthed enemies is pointless. cause it will only unstealth them while they have 1-2 secounds of stealth left, and then spend 2 secounds rendering, and 1 visible, and then restealth and your anti stealth skill jsut failed.

the problem isnt stealth classes, but rather the render engine making stealth seem longer than it really is.

a better anti stealth skill would be a trap that you can set that doesnt activate if normal enemies enter it, but if a stealthed opponent enters it it knocks them down, cancels thier stealth, and immediatly alerts you and your pet to them (or the knockdown could be a immoblize for 6 secounds.

being immoble for 6 secounds would let them restealth after 3 secounds, but by then you know they stuck in that spot and can spend 3 secounds swinging or shooting in their direction and then watch which direction the bleed dmg walks off in (seriously easiest way to find a thief, look for randomly floating bleed dmg)

ranger should have a skill designed around hunting thiefs, but only on ranger. if all classes have it then stealth is useless and people wont play thief. then ranger has 1 useless skill.

That’s a confirmation for nothing.
What happens if you keep playing ranger instead of changing now and the patch turns out to be bad, like the last 10 patches since beta that weren’t good for ranger either?

what will i do? well i have a lv 80 thief, a 80 warrior, and a 56 guardian.

if the patch notes turn out to fail then i will transfer all my gold to one of the other classes and continue on from there.
reason i want ranger is i like attacking from range, but i like to have the option to melee if i feel it will work out better.

warrior to bland…and not much fun spamming hundred blades non stop cause that skill is so OP.

thief is fun, but i would like ranger with all its condition removals (if ranger is broken i will probably go back to thief)

and guardian………fk i still cant come up with anything bad about it >.< that class is pretty much the only perfectly balanced class there is….give me a day or 2 and i might find something bad about it…dont bet on it though =/

ok with the greatsword nerf, greatsword was nerfed so much it became a joke on ranger, since 1h sword out dps it so badly.
and shortbow nerf didnt have as much of a negative effect as the greatsword, but was still felt.

thats 2 nerfs for ranger, and pretty much a broken class. other classes all have one form of burst dps while ranger is down to just rapid fire.

i heard rangers will be getting the greatsword rebalanced in november from several people in blackgate. can this be confirmed?
or is the class going to remain broken?

cause pets certaintly arent helping <.<

ET did do a good job, that propaganda that was spread on monday suggesting that JQ and ET were allied really helped push HoD out. they werent allied, but JQ did make sure HoD couldnt hit ET while ET took back their lands from HoD.

the effect of this was increased morals for both JQ and ET and demoralizing HoD. the effects of which are still evident.

tuesday, ET got a little to confident, not knowing how much of the effort pushing HoD back was actually JQ. and hit some of JQ’s keeps. JQ responded and thats whats its been like ever since. JQ owning all the maps.

ET is a good server, i will admit that. thier weakness (besides the apparent lack of communication compared to JQ) is that they dont seem ot have a night crew. HoD on the other hand has an amazing night crew, but thier day crew is just a random zerg…not effective.

communication is key. if HoD’s night crew were to move to ET then JQ and ET would be close to be equal. that is, if the ET/HoD hybrid were to use teamspeak like JQ does.

why am i saying this? no, it isnt to give my enemies ways to beat us(or fight us to a draw) i say this cause i want ot see tier 1 servers all equal in strength so we can have truly epic fights.

When HoD and SBI were both in tier 1, it wasnt right. as SBI didnt attack HoD as much as they should have.

WvW should have the bottom 2 servers attacking the first place server. which is why i like this week’s match.

ET, you have my respect and i hope to see you guys continue to grow into a force to be considered.

HoD…idk what ot say other than it eems liek you fail when SBI isnt in your match. might want to consider merging with ET. or having ET merge with you.

heads up on the Eternal Battleground status.

because HoD and ET were to busy griefing the jumping puzzle, JQ captured both of thier keeps, including all thier towers for a full map control and then flushed them out of jumping puzzle.

jumping puzzle is JQ only for now. and HoD and ET both need to learn that while its ok to have some people in that puzzle. it isnt worth it if someone is taking your keep.

Thief perma stealth fix soon?

lets see if i can explain this a bit.
first the render in this game for WvW is kitten. characters will dissapear randomly, thats normal.

2nd, thiefs have shadow refuge that lets them stealth up to 14 secounds.

3rd, when a thief stealths sometimes it blinds you, currently the render issue is interfering with this and instead of blinding you it makes the thief dissapear (this happens even if the theif doesnt stealth. if they jsut blind you for example)

i have seen a huge increase in the number of thiefs lately. so i giving my thief a break and making a ranger. as it turns out rangers can create really effective anti-thief builds with all thier immoblize, knockbacks, and stun breakers. plus a wolf using fear makes a thief into a prime target.

hopefuly Anet will fix the render engine, which will fix the blind thing.

as for shadow refuge. if a theif uses that you should see the shadow refuge symbol floating in the air for about 4 secounds.

ok we’ve gotten a bit off what i wanted the topic ot be. the point of this thread wasnt to make the 2 skills the same. it was to point out the dmg shown on the skill and the actual dmg output. pistol whip was just the closest example i could find to hundred blades.

the point was that the dmg pistol whip shows after the 9x hits is the total dmg, before crits are added in.

hundred blades dmg shown after the 8x hits is the dmg PER hit, before crits are added in.

thats what i wanted people ot notice. and i wanted to find out if that dmg is intentional or a error in the coding for it.

and if it was intentional dmg then i want Anet to replace the dmg per hit with the total dmg so that people dont get confused when it comes to dmg per hit and total dmg.

for those who keep saying “dodge” or equip a stun breaker. the problem is warriors do have more than 1 stun. and sadly, they do tend to stun, charge when i break it, stun again and hundred blades.

or the stun breaker will be in cooldown.

you saying that the skill is “fair” because you can dodge it. the same is true of every skill, but you dont see other skills doing that much dmg. even elementalist’s meteor shower does 14k max dmg if you try to stand under every meteor you see.

the problem is, you guys are thinking of 1 skill, when warrior has alot to choose of before using that skill. bolas(or whatever they called) to immoblize you and hten hundred blades.

basicly if Anet isn’t going to nerf this skill, then nerfing ranger shortbow, or thief pistol whip is pointless as you just making the skill even more OP

and warrior has 8 secound cooldown, which he can afford to w8 for. specialy considering the thief is dead after the first attack and the thief needs several attempts to even get his hp down.

actually ANY class can increase attack speed. just get the sigel of rage and you have 10% chance on crit to get 3 secounds of quickness.

but that isnt the point. why does hundred blades do so much dmg. and yet Anet considers it fine?

ok something i’ve found out that Anet might want to look into.

has 9x hits for a total of 1026 dmg, with crits and all maybe 6k dmg.

8x hits for total of 1624 dmg, and a final hit for 406 dmg.

yet in WvW you see warriors hitting 21k dmg.

people have said its because crit dmg. if a thief with 92 crit dmg can only hit 6k, how do a warrior hit 21k?

and does anyone else think 21k is a bit unfair for classes that dont have over 20k hp(aka necro and warrior)

yet they nerf pistol whip, and dont do anything to hundred blade.

i’m sorry but someone needs to check what actually affects dmg because something is seriously messed up here. bit tired of 1 warrior whiping out an entire party of 5 people with 1 skill.

are we sure hundred blades is working correctly and isnt just doing 8x 1624 dmg per hit?

Casia.4281 here’s the thing. they arent doing the puzzle. they are just sitting there for easy kills while taking up spots in their server that would be better used defending thier keep.

the 3 of us in JQ who tried to get to the top of the puzzle decided to give up because if you spend 30 minutes in a puzzle to get 2 siege weapons, time well spent. but if it takes 2 hours and u havent gotten anything then your time would be better used elsewhere taking enemy camps and such.

when HoD decided to camp in the puzzle with 30+ people. they are hurting thier server as they might not do anything for 2 hours between when people do the puzzle.

why siege is allowed in puzzle is question enough(what do the characters carry giant boxes of arrows or wooden frames while jumping on dangerous ruins. doesnt make sense.

if you waste time in your server camping like that then you should just leave.

the only time i can understand people doing that is when they have no other option because they have outmanned buff and 1 server has completely taken over. which didnt happen here.

HoD seems to jsut be giving up. so maybe throwing them out of tier 1 and replacing them with SBI would be good. ET and SBI would be a good match in my opinion. as all 3 servers (SBI, ET, and JQ) are strong without help from other servers. JQ does have a night crew though, which is the main difference between the 3.

HoD seems to need SBI’s help in order to win. most of us have already heard of the SBI guilds whose members were friends with HoD guild’s players in WoW.

also. does it seem odd that the week SBI is finally moved away from HoD’s server match up, Titan Alliance disbands.

if you want an example go look at tier 1 battle ground eternal battle ground puzzle. 3 ballista, 2 ac. and 30 people.

P.S. fix the vaults in other battlegrounds. i got 6 of each key piece now that i want to use

ok you know what. ET and HoD can both burn in hell. if you SERIOUSLY need a group of 20-30 people with siege in eternal jumping puzzle just to get a kill (where you sit there for hours w8ing) then you seriously suck at the game.

HoD with arrow carts and ballista at the top. ET with ballista in the middle. both with whole zergs just sitting there.

if you want to know why we currently own 80% of the eternal battlegrounds map. then you should look at what your zergs are doing.

as for me. i sitting on your tower next to spawn laughing at you.

as a member of JQ i will admit ET had a place in helping us beat HoD. But we (JQ i mean) do wish you could hold your own through the night. in the day you do well. but at night…maybe you can convince one of HoD’s night guilds to transfer to you. =)

HoD has already given up in WvW. how do you know this? 40 of them are in eternal battlegrounds jump puzzle setting up siege and sitting there for hours w8ing desperately for a kill to come.

at the very least we should be able to walk backwards faster. i use a longbow and so i like ot keep as far away as possible. but that isnt possible hwne i have ot turn around and run because my opponent is charging me and my pet is walking like a old person…(+30% pet speed yeah right…)
