I put a lot of thought into it, and I think I’ve thought of a solid solution.
The main problems are that it lacks defense, sustainability and utility.
The reasons for this being that it depends too much on Unload as the sole source of offense, and Unload is too much of a resource hog for this role.
If they buff non-Unload abilities enough to be viable alternatives, it makes D/P and/or P/D overpowered.
If they buff Unload enough to make the set viable single-handedly, it exacerbates the existing problem and makes it a ridiculous one-trick pony spam-fest.

So here’s my idea.
First increase the cast time on Unload, then add a secondary activation to it (a la Shadow Return and such). The increased duration of Unload is important for several reasons.
It will weaken it enough to help balance the addition of the secondary activation.
Draw out activations of Unload, both to reduce down-time spent on condition-based auto-attacks, and reduce the reliance on Initiative traits without making them overpowered.
And finally, to prevent it from allowing too much burst potential with the secondary, and make it that much easier to trigger the secondary (since it would be available while Unload is active).

The secondary could be called something like Reload. It stops the Unload mid-cast, triggers a small evade window during the early portion of the cast, and restores a couple Initiative.
The cast time of Unload would be sizable, and only give back the Initiative when it completes. Something like a 1 second cast with a 1/2 second evade at the start.
This would give a bit of much needed defense (particularly while using Unload, which currently jams up defense and utility further by locking out other abilities), and gives back some Initiative to help with stringing in non-Unload attacks more frequently.
It would also make Unload spamming for offense significantly less boring and more involved.

Zhaitan is dead. Arenanet has confirmed it in interviews and in the hidden arcana library in the Priory they have a tendrils (or it may have been his tail) off of his corpse hanging from the roof… He’s dead 100%

Either way, dead or no, magic can retcon pretty much anything.

I do not see WHY he would not be dead though? GW2 has 5 other dragons to deal with, not like Zhaitan is The Mandarin or something.

actually…seeing the number of stealth spam thiefs in wvw…it might be a good idea to nerf those stealth spammers somehow and buff p/p

how? seeing as the stealth spam is from the trait line, remove the time it takes to use stealth trap in wvw. this will avoid gimping thief in PvE

then buffing unload to provide evade while shooting.

this will make P/P useful, and make the stealth spamming options not overshadow it without making them obsolete(as you can counter with a supply removing trap to prevent them using stealth trap)

Well i’m going to go for the crazy idea’s. they won’t work but im stating them anyway

Since unload/pistol whip/repeater all took nerfs due to synergizing to well with haste, then they nerfed haste. how about adding a trait
-haste gains 50% ias while duel wielding pistols. (this pretty much reverts the haste change for pistols) and since there dmg has already been “balanced” around haste + unload it should normalize things again.

And / Or also
Since Arena net has a fascination with life steal (SoM, Invigorating Precision , hm can’t remember the name atm healing on int use)They could add a life stealing ability to unload. (or heal per hit) its much easyier for them to tweak it over the signet/traits, this would open up an option for offhand use (healing) while keeping Ls low on other set’s (we can’t have a repeat of the LS meta can we thieves) and since thieves lack def, i doubt it will ever be considered op.

Course none of these suggestions deal with the fact that it has limited mobility. (which translate into p/p still being a bit weaker) These are outside the box so to speak but i firmly belive p/p should have something a bit diffrent.

life steal would be nice, i’d much prefer it to haste…

ok, since i actually had fun writing my idea for cantha story….(and cause this idea randomly came to me) i’m gonna post it here.

but first….i now understand how you become a fanfic writer…..but kittens fun.

so this is my idea for the intro quest to a cantha expansion in gw2.

You are called to the tarnished coast by trahearne to investigate a strange body recently washed up on shore

upon arrival you find pact soldiers surrounding something barely resembling a human, bloated and inflated. it looks sick beyond anything you’ve seen before.

a priory scholar comes up to you to explian the tattered garbs he wears originate from Cantha.

As you take a closer look at the body, a human from the order of whispers jumps forward, grabbing you and throwing you away from the body. secounds later the body explodes, knocking the pact soldiers around it off thier feet.

Recovering, you get up to see where the body was, nothing remains of the body save for a tattered piece of cloth it was originally wearing.

as you move to pick it up, the order of whispers human who had originally pushed you back from the body suddently attacks you. Its not just him, all the pact soldiers hit by the blast turn on one another.

the soldiers not hit by the blast are caught up in the melee, unsure what they should do, some are cut down by thier once allies, the remaining try to flee.

caught in the center of the melee you fight your way out, killing some of these soldiers you once called allies. However the crazed pact soldiers give chase to you and escape from this madness(crap…spoiler there…was trying to avoid that word) seems immposible.

Gun shots shatter the sound of the melee, the fleeing pact soldiers have regrouped and seeing your trouble give supporting fire.

after the fight is over, the surviving pact members, numbering a fraction of thier former numbers, look at the field of corpses that once were comrades in arms to them. what caused this?

you need to investigate


in the next quest you will go to the order of whispers base as the member who pushed you away from the corpse seemed to have realized what was going to happen secounds before it did. it is here you discover the madness you saw is known as the affliction, a canthan infection that starts with madness and leads to corruption.

and now, its spread to tyria.


havign fun coming up with ideas, we could turn this thread into a thread filled with ideas for quests, side quests, plots and plot twists to show Arenanet that not only do we want cantha, we have ideas for them to use to help them.

imagine if your idea was actually used! i would faint xD

A large part of P/P’s problem is that shortbow is simply too good by comparison (which sucks because I hate shortbow). An auto-attack that hits multiple targets and can immob from stealth, a high-damage blast finisher that also provides aoe bleeds, an evade, a poison field, and a freaking SHADOWSTEP ON DEMAND. It’s pretty much the single best utility weapon in the game and only stubborn idiots like myself refuse to use it.

P/P is still capable of doing some serious damage, but physical damage overall has sort of fallen off as the game evolves towards a higher percentage of players running some form of sustain or celestial build. There’s also other inherent weaknesses with the build such as requiring a target for any of its skills to do damage, its heavy reliance on initiative, and just being an incredibly easy set to counter. Plus, Ricochet itself is kind of an oddball trait that sometimes screws things up more than it helps (try using it with Shadowshot from the d/p set) and is, at best, still dependent on RNG. Besides, shortbow gets the same effect without even being required to trait for it.

The set just needs some kind of adjustment to distinguish itself as a viable ranged set from shortbow. Obviously, you can’t really tweak all of the skills too much or else risk unbalancing p/x and x/p builds, but maybe something crazy like a 20% chance to strip a boon on each shot of Unload would make it more attractive. Suddenly, Ricochet builds might become more threatening in teamfights.

There’s been plenty of threads with several great ideas on how to improve the set, but nothing’s ever come of it. I wish Anet would be more willing to test things out.

and yeah i see what you saying. comparing p/p main attack to ranger’s shortbow main attack. they are very similar (in range, dmg, and condition) but while ranger shortbow needs to flank to bleed. pistol can do from front.

yet shortbow has 2 attacks for every 1 pistol. so they need to balance it.

is he dead? and not just wounded. the undead dragons he brought back are all still moving.

and they said he’s dead just by assumption.

I think people find P/P disappointing because it doesn’t quite meet the sweet spot of damage and survivability that melee sets do. Ostensibly it’s safer because it’s permanently at 900 range, so the reduced damage is fair. But unlike melee sets, it doesn’t have a shadowstep or an evasion move or access to stealth in its weapon skills. So while it looks a little safer at first, if something actively chases you, you’re forced into a second set / utilities / traits or something to escape with your life.

If you were ever to ‘fix’ P/P, it would probably have to be on Unload. (since as Cynz mentioned, both P/D and D/P are really good sets, so buffing either of them by association is questionable) I’m not sure what you’d do to fix it, if such a thing is possible / necessary: Maybe make unload reduce the cost of your next non-unload skill by 1 or something? As it is, the set often loses what utility it has because of the necessity of unload spam for moderate damage.

Maybe you could somehow let people use their dodges without breaking the channel? Putting free evasion frames on it seems a little too cheaty in my opinion.

ok so yeah i see what you guys are saying, and yeah unload would be the thing to change to fix it (jsut got done reporting thief’s shortbow’s 5 skill for being able to exploit itself over walls in WvW….)

so lets see..

unload could give endurance to recover energy for additional evasions?

or perhaps it cripples your opponent (that many shots would hit thier feet and legs and be painful) (how that would work idk…since its 8 shots 8 cripples woudl be overkill so they would have to rework unload to work like ranger’s 2 skill on the longbow with a flat 1 time cripple)

so the problem is the range with bad mobility?

i know theres a trait that gives it +150 range and makes it bounce between enemies(like ranger axe or thief throwing dagger)

if they moved that trait from the 5th traitline to one of the others would that fix it?

Guys…………. if they ever make cantha in gw2….. it wont be anytime soon. Not this century! Why? They dont hv resources dont hv fund for this … anyone wanna pay for a team to develop this put your hand up :p :p

…..(has spent $60 in in game store in past 2 weeks)

….1 name change. 3 hairstyle kits….(ok….6 hairstyle kits…don’t judge me i love changing my appearence to match my mood). and other stuff.

aka 4 months of WoW subscription….so if 10% of the playerbase is like me(in how much thye pay weekly) then yeah….they should be fine

so i’m hearing alot of people saying P/p thief is bad in WvW and PvP and there is no good build for them.

and i’m wondering why?
is it cause the skill set up is to varied? (being condition on its first skill, imobilize vulnerbility on the 2nd, raw burst on 3rd, interupt on 4nd, and blind aoe on 5th)

if it is indeed broken (and i’m not saying it is) then what would need to be fixed?

its not supposed to have the raw dmg output of d/d because its ranged, thus giving theif a bit of survivability that d/d doesnt offer.

i can understand people being dissapointed in unload (being its a raw dmg skill that is weak compared to ranger’s longbow burst skill)
but i dont think giving it more raw dmg would help, as then whats the point of d/d

maybe giving it bleed?

or is that not what people dislike about p/p? is it the lack of evasion option that some ranged skills get?

or is it the trait line (i’ve never had an issue with it seeing as how toughness has condition dmg, so thats a bonus!)

just trying to figure out what is it people think kills P/p in comparison to other options/classes

My idea for Canthan story GW2

Sounds quite interesting. I especially enjoy the part about the relationship between the Royal family/ministry and the common folk. I would also like to see how the Luxon and Kurzick come into the play. If they have survived the Ministry’s cleansing.

I also wonder what would be the relationship between the people of cantha and non-human races. Considering that the Ministry’s job was to get rid of non-humans and to make the people see other races and lesser creatures.

SO MUCH POSSIBILITIES!!!!!!!

if they are struggling for an idea for its story. heres my idea for a story

My idea for Canthan story GW2

When Zaitan rose, contact with the outside world was cut off for canthan, leaving them unsure if they were alone in the world or not.

being the dragon empire, the royal family celebrated Zaitan’s rise, while the citizens didn’t share thier enthusiams. the affliction, low key since the events in gw1, empowered by zhaitan became more powerful and began spreading again.

the people of canthan paniced and the royal family closed itself off from the rest of cantha to avoid the affliction getting in. left without leadership, they needed a hero to rise.

and one did (no idea for a name, put one in. not your player character though.). rallying the remains of the canthan army, this hero engaged the afflicted and pushed them back street by street, house by house. over th ecoarse of a year this confict raged but gradually the afflicted lost ground.

then the events of gw2 happened, pact forces defeated zhaitan(but didnt kill him, the only remains found being the tail). Zhaitan, being an eldar dragon survived the corrupted magic but mutated. fleeing Orr, he arrived at cantha and crashed down through the city leaving a scar over much of the land from his impact(bit like the shatterer). where he crashed down risen spread and the aflicted spread in a wave.

the Canthan forces engaging the affliction found thier allys turning into afflicted and chaos spread. breaking line and fleeing or turning on one another this was the time for the hero to rally the remainign canthan forces.

but luck was not on thier side, at this critical time, the hero was missing, kidnapped hours before by the royal family for usurping thier power over the people.

locked inside the palace, the hero could do nothing as the affiction and risen spread over the city that canthan forces had worked so hard to retake.

and this is where the expansion would begin for us, with pact scouts arriving in canthan to see what has happened to this human country, discovering zhaitan’s survival. and calling the pact to help save cantha.

Cantha is divided into multiple factions after zhaitan’s arrival, the canthan forces defeat, and the dissapearence of the hero who united them.

so the Pact has to help reunite these forces and retake the city, while beign engaged from the front by risen and afficted (as well as ghosts of cantha’s past) and the rear from the royal family trying to stop this threat to the dragon they worship.

the player would have to choose how to retake the city, focusing on reuniting the factions themself, or taking the fight to the royal family to rescue the hero to reunite them, or regain the trust of the tengu(who fought with the hero, but fled when zhaitan arrived) and use them to help retake the city.

while at the same time the undersea dragon is becoming active and pact forces struggle to make it across the straight to cantha.

Zhaitan wakes from unconsciousness
“Ah just great. A great winged zombie like me shouldn’t be falling, or feeling pain. Schooldragon errors. It’s as if I’m some weakling Shatterer, nevermind an Elder Dragon. I tell you, if it wasn’t for those pesky kids, I’d have killed everybo-…….WHAT THE UNDERWORLD!!?? WHERE’S MY KITTENING TAIL?? Oh, the Priory has it?? Well, we’ll just see about that!”

priory scholar answers the banging at the door
Zhaitan “i’ve come for my tail puny mortal!”
Priory Scholar (without looking up or paying attention) “please take a ticket and get in line, current waiting time for access to the tail is 3 months”
Zhaitan “3 MONTHS?! ITS MY TAIL. WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO IT”
Priory Scholar “experiments, bragging, and disection. as i said sir please take a ticket”
Zhaitan “DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM”
Priory Scholar “a very loud very annoying asura?”
Priory Scholar looks up to see who he’s been talking to this entire time
Priory Scholar(shaking a bit) “…oh….uhhh….” faints

Zhaitan “kitten…so this is why Primordus hasn’t bothered coming to the surface…”

PC: I really have to ask. Is that Zhaitan’s tail?
AE: As a matter of fact, it is. We brought it here after Zhaitan’s death. We had to construct special rigging to get it in here. It took months.
PC: And they’re experimenting on it?
AE: They’re studying it, yes. It may one day reveal all the secrets of the Elder Dragons.

see? if they had to choose any part to experiment on it would be the chest as thats the strongest and most vital(other than head which is hard to hit)

the tail can be discarded like zaitan did. and so studying it for a weakspot is useless.

unless thats all that could be found and they are just assuming he died.

my guess is he’s slunk off to recover underground where we cant find him. maybe primordis will get mad for the intrusion and we will get a dragon brawl

There apparently was a body. In the Living Story your player character asks if an item in the Special Collections archive of the Durmand Priory is Zhaitan’s tail, and the warden confirms that it is.

We just never saw it, just as we personally never killed Zhaitan. We just pressed #2.

crap..that makes me believe zhaitan is alive even more.

we SHOT his tail off. of coarse it would be left….the only thing that would confirm it is his head…

so are we sure he’s dead. never in the scene did i see a corpse. i just saw him falling.

all we really did was corrupt the magic he feeds off of, but he’s survived thousands of years without magic by sleeping. are we sure we didn’t just corrupt him and turn him into some mutant monstrosity?

having the power over the dead makes him dying like this very hard to believe. specially without a corpse.

it doesnt squat. i’m looking for an animation but i cant find one.

i dont want to change my build to condition dmg as my armor/weapons/ builds have always focused on either constant dmg or crit dmg.
changing to condition dmg would go against why i love thief…i’d play necro if i wanted condition.

i did try to hit less but for more dmg. got a 7k crit and killed myself….at least with p/p unload i can turn around and end it early to try to cut the dmg off…

arenta, when you are fighting golems with a thief, you need to think outside the box.
Read closely because this may save your life.

Boon stealing is fine, but as you said, they reapply the boons very often. They squat and they start buffing. The same goes for the golems in CoE, the gong dredge, and a handful of bosses.

When you are pitted against monsters actively buffing themselves, think thief-like:
Thieves are the single profession with most interruption power in the game.

I tell you: just bring a pistol in your offhand. As a thief, you are nimble on your feet. If you know how to play, you won’t need to rely on stealth to survive. All you need to continue dispatching your enemy is to interrupt him in the right moment.

If you don’t fancy pistols, there’s other ways too, but you would need to play around with your build and utilities.

If you want a quick tutorial on how to do it, poke me in-game. I can show you how to survive without sitting in stealth too

i using a pistol focused build =)

and yeah the daze skill is nice but is there a certain animation the golem does before it uses the retaliation buff or is it about timing it every like 4 secounds.

i’m trying again (idk why…just want to do a flawless run)
only changed by build to heal as much as possible in stealth while still critting and stealing hp.

nearly got it, but i still lose hp so fast.

seems the golem is ment for a party, not a single person run…

Yeah, the golem can be a pain. But I didn’t have much trouble on my necro. Focus 5 is a boon strip, plus you have well of corruption and corrupt boon to strip boons. You can use flesh golem as a meat shield while you try to burst as much damage as you can. Use deathshroud often to stay alive.

I’ve not done it on a thief, but using Thieves Guild would probably help a bit if you start with that.

just tried it and it does work.

but my thief and ranger are still failing miserably.

ranger takes 3-4 deaths(with heals and a sylvari hound heal) while thief….yeah that burst kills me before i can pop the heal.

i also got a warrior in the mission just now…..easier to stay alive with but alot slower to win cause i have to spend such long periods of time just kiting without attacking while health trickles back.

So in the season 2 story mission “Taimi and the Asura” (part of The Dragon’s reach part 2)

there is a inquest Veteran Mark I Golem that heals and buffs allies.

but it also heals and buffs itself…and thats my problem….it spams retaliation and protection on itself so it always has over 20 secounds of the stuff, doesnt drop below that.

so being a thief this is problematic as i’m literally killing myself.
i’ve tried using sword to steal the buff but it immediately rebuffs itself and i end up having to do a non stop attack, kite, shoot till i die. respawn. run to it and repeat till it dies.

there has got to be a better way? am i doing something wrong? or is the golem ment to be this unfair?

-i’ve tried this with my ranger and necromancer. both times the same. this golem kills without doing anything other than retaliating all my dmg with the insane buff spam.

ok few more questions( now that i’ve leveled a new char to lv 34)

1. did they fix the crap rendering in WvWvW (where render would take so long you couldnt see a thief for clsoe to 10 secounds or an entire rush)

2. is warrior still OP as hell? (the 1 shot rifle warrior)
3. how do you make it lock on your target when you damage them until you tab to new target. right now it target the mob until they move behind me and then deselects them…troublesome =x

4. is there a cap on magic find? (i’m at 45%….)

5. fractals, do people still do them often?

6. how do i rank up weapon’s rarities to exotic (i forgot =x )

7. agony, what exactly is it. what uses it. and what lets me resist it.

8. do people still run the flame citadel?

Cantha was my favorite GW1 region to work on. And I worked on every GW release. I know a lot of the dev team loved it and would love to revisit it. I kinda agree with critickitten about the negative aspect of tight corridors. Most of that came from hitting technological limits while trying to keep the epic quality of the concept art. I think we could do some really amazing things with those themes in our new engine. Certainly nothing is ruled out. I certainly encourage anyone to express your desire for a Cantha region in GW2 in a positive and friendly way. It could be years away, but it’s worth asking for.

i’ve been gone from GW2 for more than a year, so i’m sad i missed this and hope i’m not to late.
Guild Wars Factions was actually my favorite, i’ve replayed it at least once a year and i do want to see whats happened there in GW2. not sure why they wont let you put Cantha in GW2, but i did choose to be a human for no reason other than to tell Logan (when he asked about my lost sister) that we were Canthan.

Hope to see it added to GW2, and hope to learn whats happened in the 250 years since GW.

also, i hope to find out what its been like there being isolated from the rest of humanity, did they think they were the last of humanity? how did they react.

so i’ve been gone for a while (back from the first haloween event) and alot has changed

so i was wondering if anyone could tell me the buffs/nerfs to thief and ranger

i have a max level thief and ranger, but being gone so long i thought it would be best to make one from lv 1 to relearn the game. but i’m having trouble deciding on one…

so my questions are.
1. Did they ever fix Pet AI (from pets being kittened and getting stuck on every single tree)
2. did ranger’s dmg get buffed? (i saw the new stealth thing on longbow)
3. how much has thief been nerfed? still good for soloist?
4. living world season 1. what exactly happened during all that (punching myself for missing it!!!!)
5. what happened to town clothes
6. any new lands been released?
7. anything i should know before reaching living world season 2 (as it appears i wont be able to do season 1?)

no, we still w8ing for it. so far all we’ve really gotten is +25% movement speed instead of +10%. but that was all classes that had +10% so not ranger exclusive.

and recently spirits got +25% hp.

honestly by now you can jsut assumed Anet lied or forgot about that promise and ranger is about dead. i’m sure someone will say it will come eventually. but honestly i’d rather not w8 2 years for it to come.

During the live stream today ANet announced they will be reviewing a lot of the AoE damage skills as they are considered too powerful.

That in itself is fine. However AoE was one of the few effective ways to deny enemies revives during Zerg vs. Zerg clashes in WvW. Without any additional changes it will be very hard to stop people from reviving people constantly, which is already a big issue in WvW combat.

Are there any additional measures being taken to limit the abundance/relative ease of reviving/resurrections especially in WvW?

Considering that PvE won’t allow resurrections in combat any more maybe that rule should be applied to WvW as well?

its been liek this for reset, everyone in EB atm(and there an hour queue) is getting kitten at not beign able to get a foothold. and getting murdered at our own spawn (they are literally w8ing right in front of it)

the ammount of fighting it took for 5 of us to slip out was insane. we have already had 3 commanders quit and leave for borderlands where it still a free for all.

the 2 remaining ones both considering leave cause this isnt how WvW was ment ot be.

it was ment to be the 2 bottom servers hittign the top. not the top and bottom hittign the middle.

reminds me of when HoD and SBI had guilds communicating with the other server and teamed on JQ.

oh w8? this is SoS and BG? really i couldnt tell the difference.

this map is with full queue for JQ. and both SoS and BG hititng just JQ.

you are wrong. in addition to paid transfers we have the GUESTING SYSTEM. which means it will be EASIER to get to temple of balthazaars that are unlocked.

paying transfers is a good thing, it will convince people that instead of moving to a good server, to instead have some pride in thier server and participate in advancing you in WvW more.

yes there are issues with people not getting 100% map completion. but you know what? this game was never ment to be easy. it was ment to be a challenge. so if you in one of hte servers that is bad at WvW, take a moment to get a group of people from your server who also need 100% map completion together. form a zerg. and take it in WvW.

you need to stop relying on the people who WvW naturally to get stuff for you and instead WORK to get that 100% map completion.

i got the map completion in my server despite it takign a while because my server is JQ, a tier 1 server who is constantly fighting. it took 3 weeks yes, but the ammount of fun i had and items i earned doing it made me appreciate the map completion achievement.

1h Sword prevents dodging?

indeed you are unable to dodge 66% of the time during your auto attack because 2/3 of your auto attack chains are lunges.

the best i can tell you is when you want to dodge use the 3 key, or the 2 key to jump back(breaking chain auto) and then dodge. it really is annoying but the only way.

another possibility is to use sword/dagger, dagger 4 skill is a quick dodge tool that breaks the auto attack chain very quickly, and is a dodge in its own right.

so basically if you want to dodge have a skill available to use to break the chain before dodging. only time i use sword now is in certain fractals and dungeons where i have an ele and guardian who can keep my hp up while i go quickness + sword chain(which is pretty nice dmg, on a 360 degree angle 2!)

otherwise sword is to hard to control to rely on dodging so i use GS (with its block and natural chain dodge). even if it is extremely low dmg.

ok let me give you guys a tip for gettign a really big shortbow.

the Ebon Vanguard shortbow(which can be purchased with karma and transmuted) is the same size as a longbow.
the Ebon Vanguard longbow is also as big as the ebon vanguard shortbow. so both skins are longbow. praying Anet doesnt change this.

so yeah. you want shortbow skills and dmg with longbow appearence go for Ebon Vanguard shortbow.

ok…we had 2 ac higher up that were ltierally 1m from eachother(if even) so that doesnt work.

total siege in the tower at the time was 2 cata, 5 ac(1 unbuilt) 2 ballista, and 3 rams at the door

also i was able to place it after this recordign finished by jumping off the tower and placing it right before i hit the ground.

1-11-13 SoS vs JQ vs BG redux

ok this is the only time you will see me say this (because, being someone from JQ i tend to hate SoS for being in the #1 spot so much)

SoS has earned its spot in tier 1, the server came from no where with a population that no one from tier 1 expected. the fact they have been in tier 1 for the past (6?) weeks is proof of that and they have taken gold all but 1 of those weeks. so i do have some respect for SoS. yes JQ and SBI might have more medals in WvW than them, but SoS already has more gold.

JQ has earned its spot in tier 1 as well(and yes this is my server), we have weathered HoD(at its prime),SBI, SoS, and others. despite being the least populous of the servers(WvW wise) it has shown that its solid communication through the WvW guilds and teamspeak (which it seems JQ has become known for) can help it survive the overwelmign numbers of it opponents (though that advantage only goes so far).
JQ hasnt ridden along in SoS’s winning, but has tried to take SoS down again and again. and that rivalry between the 2 servers makes WvW fun.

SBI, although gone now, was a good show in tier 1, though i do hesitate to say that a bit. it, like JQ survived HoD and SoS(until recently). and i will admit i am a bit sad to see them go, JQ and SBI haven been in tier 1 longer than any other server.

BG, new to tier 1. Honestly i have nothing to say about this server yet because i haven’t seen whether or not they will stay in tier 1 for long or drop back to tier 2 like before. If BG survives then hopefuly i will have something to say.

for now i will just point this out. because BG replaced SBI, the friday of that reset (and saterday) showed a huge increase in the number of WvWers(temporarily) across all servers. JQ, being os low in WvW population, discovered that nothing was farther from the truth. with a new server in the matchup so many people joined WvW that we had queues for ALL the battlegrounds. something that hasnt happened since the games release. and for the first 2 days it was as close to a tie as tier 1 has ever seen. all 3 servers within 1k points of one another.

so thank you BG for showing JQ that we still have a significant number of WvWers, they just need motivation to join. (now if only we could figure out how ot keep them playing WvW….seriously the population boost only lasted 2 days)

just remember this BG, boosting about winning in tier 2 means nothing in tier 1. the 2 are different. in tier 1 you have to know how to survive 24/7 against opponents who are constantly watching and will use any chance to take you down(SoS and JQ both)

you have ot earn our respect, and you have a pretty good start. now you need to keep it up.

and complaining about 2v1 isnt going to earn the respect. JQ survived 2v1 with HoD and SBI, and another with SoS and SBI. SBI and SoS have also survived 2v1s against JQ and the other server.

2v1 is a part of tier 1 you have ot get used to. don’t believe me?

did anyone notice that shortbow on a male is different than shortbow on a female.
males lean into thier bow liek they aiming

i want to lean into my bow =( not look like a Lord of the rings elf whose bow smells and so i leaning away…

ok..maybe that current female one works for longbow….but short bow? everyone should be leaning into it because the bow is small and leaning away from it is going to send arrows wildly away

so solution, and the reason i posting this is to ask Anet to make males and females hold longbow like current female, straight back and not leaning because the bow is big, so you going to need distance to aim.

and make shortbows like current male, after all you need ot lean forward to aim a bow thats short, if you lean back with a shortbow(like current female bow animation) the arrow is going to miss.

anyone else agree? disagree? (if you disagree i want 3 reasons why, and make them good ones)
