No one have a problem with Wilderness Survival being the only tait line with condi remove?
It kinda brings us the square one when all rangers had to take – Wilderness Survival for EB(before SOTF). Why not just move EB to BM trait line(makes sense)?
Ya i know new SotF +UT is amazing, but Wilderness Survival feels more as a “condi” build-regen trait line. ..
Dividing our condi removal traits to different trait lines opens up diversity, thats what happend with SOTF in the first place.
I did, and it’s indeed a huge nerf (nobody fight high conditionners i guess) , they definitly need to move those two traits from the same slot. If they move EB to BM line, it can’t be a grand master trait, well it will be sad cuz the axe trait looks interesting. A master trait will be nice, it’s not such a great trait after all (but yeah, it make sens in this line i agree).
I’ve seen some 6-6-6 builds, but the specs are a bit unclear to me. Does this mean, that you can trait only into 3 lines in the future and spend 18 intead of 14 when this is introduced? The Ready up didn’t talk about it (at least the parts I’ve seen so far).
Yes it does. You can now pick 3 different trait lines but you must invest fully in thouse trait lines. No more – 2-4-2-4 builds, only -6-x-6-6-x .
OK that actually makes it easier.
I’m thinking 4/0/4/4/0
Call of the wild

Windborne Notes
Protective WardPerma might, swiftness, regen, fury, protection.
You won’t be perma protection at all since they nerfed it (they remove nature’s protection) and protective ward give protection to your pet only. You’ll have protection on dodge, nothing more.
In all honesty most of the other classes have one trait to a specific off-hand weapon, but after almost 3 years remove off-hand training and make 3 traits for our off-hand weapons is just meh, so innovative…
At least do not put warhorn trait in the same slot that evasive purity (nice add with cripple) for god’sake.
Huge nerf to our cleans EB and SOTF are in the same slot. One GM trait ONLY to deals with conditions, really ?
They nerfed nature ’s voice : 10 sec of swiftness and regen instead of 13 cuz it have been remove in BM (it totally destroy my power build). Nature magic is + 20 % boon duration, pretty huge nerf to boon duration.
There are some good ideas but why the revive traits are still here ? Who kitten care.
They are fed up with spirits, great.
I am a bit disappointed since your first vid had a great show opening, i though there were some black and white pictures with the music, that being said it’s still a nice vid with great fights.
How can that not be awesome!?
A lots of zerker builds, whatever the class, goes in a full line with + 300 vitality or + 300 toughness, boon duration etc. I can ‘t believe all the guys on the others sub-forum who just said that they chose their traits without thinking of the sats it adds, like they barely noticed how great is + 300 vitality (when you have none in your gear) when you’re roaming, seriously…
The lost of the stats won’t be compensated with two new master and grandmaster traits, so, maybe the squishies will have to be less squihy after all to be effective and add some other stats with gear.
I don’t see, really, any decent reason why a glass LB ranger should have access to protection on dodge, evasive purity, high swiftness with guard, heal shout traited etc. at 1500 range, this is kitten ridiculous.
How i am supposed to get a better build, since every other classes will have a better build ?
I think every body will have a hard time in wvw for a while after HOT release.
I just see the future of wvw (solo and small scale roaming) the only mod i play.
Anet had to reward the baddies for sure. With the lost of the stats, the squishiest will remain squishy while gaining more sustain from traits, like free cleans when they didn’t even bother to add some of those with their terrible meta build.
The one, like me, who built for a bit less damage but a lot more sustain to face every situation will loose either damage or sustain, or both. All the cureent builds and stats are obselete, i don’t even see why i should keep playing till the HOT release.
I can understand why so many rangers are excited.
The stats was a part of all the builds (am going to loose 300 extra vitality). It will change everything, but am not afraid to change my gear to nearly get the same stats. My main concern is to know where condition duration and (mostly) boon duration will go.
(edited by borya.2964)
I am not sure to understand how all of this will work. We will have access to 3 entire traits lines (3 GM traits), no more stats etc. It’s kind of scary. It’s a lot more changes than we expected.
Such a long opening post.
You dindn’t include mobility (movement speed) in your build so you’re obviously slow + you’re stucked in an entire beginner set of sats. It’s not he class, it’s simply you. I am perma swiftness in both my condi and power build.
If you had some precision you wouldn’t need sharpening stone and you could take nature’s voice + guard, if you had some healing power you could out heal the conditions instead of using active cleans (you have the only hot in the game) and fury is probably useless in your build. There is a lot of thing you could do like the others mentionned, really, a lot more options than a power build without loosing your damage.
If you can win a 1vx it generally means that your opponents are ether not very good, in bad builds/gear or are up levels. but more likely a combination of all 3
I don’t think skill has all that much to do with it in this game. I see myself as a decent enough player, but I am not winning a 1 v 2 unless the people are worse than I am or I have some kind of advantage like a tower to hide in and out of.
I mean, there are only so many evades, stunbreaks, and clears. If you have two competent people they are going to just overload you.
I think he simply mean that even if you are a very very good player chances are quite high you will still lose to 2 other players if they are atleast above average and know how to play their own class reasonably well unless there is a very hard counter in the builds you have and if they are 3 they really have to be terrible and poorly geared to all get killed by 1 player again unless there is some extreme hard counter or plain crazy luck… or if you are in the water lol.
You can win a 1 vs 2 versus good players quiet easliy, ranger have the tools to do this, espacially an evade one. You can win for a lots of reasons : they are not in a group so they lack synergy, they are not on ts, they lack cc, they are too careful, not enough offensive, one is too slow, one is conditions and you can deal with this, the other is power and you can deal with this etc.
The fact is that you’ll know the very few seconds you engage if you can do it, it means that in one way or another, you can focus one guy without to pay attention that much to the other. It doesn’t mean you’re better, it doesn’t mean they are bad.
(edited by borya.2964)
LB works perfectly fine without Marks Traits, but you ‘ll have to use your other weapon(s) set quiet offensively since LB camping is less effective. I run 0/2/6/6/0 with LB and S/D and it’s just great (dunno if it can work with GS). I only play wvw (solo and small scale roaming) and i killed like 98 % of the rangers i fight and the 2 % are never meta builds. I don’t need the range all my fights are between 900 and closed range like everybody else and with the success i have against other rangers i really ask myself if the max range is useful so much…
If you are going to say it’s possible, well anything is possible. Like, sometimes between the video and HoT release, they just delete ranger altogether and put it in the too-hard basket. It’s possible.
I doubt they will change the class mechanic at all. Specialisation most likely has nothing to do with class mechanics. You’ll equip a staff and druid utility skills and the trait line will change to suit, you’ll equip the traits to suit them. Most likely it.
Why would they change the class mechanic of every class too?
We’ll have a new class mechanic. A new weapon is not a specialisatio, it’s just a new weapon. Problem is that we don’t know what “new class mechanic” means for Anet, especially with the ranger. We know there is someting with the pets so it could be a lot of things : summoning etc. But i am not very confident.
If you want to run away before or after LR, just turn the camera, what a big issue (you can already evade the way you want). If you evade toward you’ll have to turn the camera in the same way to face again your oponent, or turn the camera to take distance backward (and now you don’t even know what your opponent is doing since he’s behind you), it’s pretty much the same thing except that it would complicate the fight. You want to complicate the fight to run easier. + it’s a break stun, it need to be instant, you don’t want to lose time buy choosing a direction, it’s dumb.
(edited by borya.2964)
Unkillable spirits would be too op with no counters. I don’ like ground targeted actives, don’t forget that passives are strong (not untraited i know) : burning is a strong condition, protection is a strong boon etc. Strong passives with ground targeted actives looks definitly too powerful.
I think it could be a bit like ele attenuments.
Vigorous Spirits — Spirits have increased health and a greater chance to trigger their benefits. By default.
Adpet : While summoning a spirit, you and all nearby allies gain a boon. Storm : vigor 5 s, Sun : might 15 s, Stone : aegis 5 s, Frost : swiftness 5 s, Nature : regeneration 5 s
Master : Spirits can move and follow you. Maintain the passive effects of spirits when they die x seconds.
Grandmaster : Activated skills of spirits are larger, gain additional effect based on spirit. Storm : gain an attack of opportunity , Sun : ? , frost : remove chill, immo and cripple, stone : break stun
Something like that.
About shouts, “Protect Me” should have been something like (from launch) :
Protect Me : Your pet purge all conditions on you gaining all boons for a short duration. Break stun. Instant. CD 60 s
Shouts need to be useful for allies (not all, like war maybe) while relying on pet.
Shout Master : Reduce recharge on shouts. Recharge reduce 20 %. Nearby allies gain up to 50 vitality based on your effective level when using a shout (6sec). Interval 3 s, radius 600, combat only.
Nature’s voice : Same.
Guard : Command your pet to aggressively guard an area. Your pet gains stealth and protection for a short duration. Curing a condition on allies (allies only) at a set time interval. Stealh 10 s, protection 10 s. Cure a condition every 5 s, radius 600.
Sic Em : Blind you foe 6 s. Your pet runs faster and does more damage., inflict weakness the next tree attacks 3 s. Range 1,200. Revealed 6 s .(Well need to be useful outside of stealth classes.)
Search and rescue : Same. You’re pet is immune to contitions and damage.

The reality is that there are few builds that offer more than 1 or 2 extra counters to RF other than dodge, and RF has a much shorter cooldown than nearly all of those counters.
You can’t be serious. Show us a decent build, no matter the class, without 1 or 2 extra counters (wich means avoid + mitigate) to RF in their own rotation :
- vigor + all traits, skills, runes and sigils wich relies on dodge mechanic
-evade
-block
-reflect
-immunity
-stealth
-knockdown
-knockback
-stun
-daze
-fear
-pull
-blind
-confusion
- weakness
-shadowstep
-teleport
-toughness
-aegis
-protection
-retaliation
-movement skill
-ground targeted skill
-healing skills
I missed something ?
Few builds ? The truth is that every decent build have even more then 1 or 2 extra couters. Come on, show us the build you’re talking about, please.
(edited by borya.2964)
I don’t feel that it’s an antraditonal build that much but a custom one, yep. A kind of hybrid bunker i would say but with a great damage potential when full stacked in WvW compared to the amount of sustain. The one am curently using for few days :
Quiet funny to play :
we’re not in africa.
This.
English is the official language in quiet a few african countries…
You people are terrible.
Compared to such a patronising OP, i just read care bears answers :D.
It was meant to attempt and have a mature discussion about an imbalance in the ranger class which I personally observed.
This is not true. You came here and emphatically stated that “Rapide Fire” is unbalanced while discrediting the Ranger sub-forum even before an answer. You could not wait a discussion, even less a mature one.
I’ll repeat this for a thousandth time..
L2P… Seriously… L2P….
[…] Yes this skill it’s EXACTLY like Warrior’s Volley, just slightly higher damage coefficient and longer range.
However I never see anyone complain about Volley before.Look, if you’re going to insult people with the L2P nonsense, at least know what you’re talking about. You lose all credibility when you try to say RF is only slightly better than Warrior’s Volley. +300 range (traited), +20% more damage (even more when both are traited), +10 Vul stacks, faster projectile speed (traited) all add up to a considerable advantage for that skill alone. And when considered in context of the rest of the skills of the respective weapons the comparison becomes laughable: LB AA is ~50% better than Rifle (at range) and Hunter’s Shot, PB Shot and Barrage FAR outclass Aimed Shot, Brutal Shot, and Rifle Butt.
10 Stacks of Vul for 10 sec is way better than 8 stacks for 12 sec for sure… If you’re talking about full traited LB vs non-traited Rifle then i don’t where the nonsense is. There are plenty of traits to increase the Rifle : Crack shot, Burst precision, Precises stirkes, critical burst, Opportunist, Attack of opportunity, Leg specialist, runes, sigils, food etc.
I would suggest you to say that it’s a vid in the topic title if you can.
Go bow/bow or you’re not a true ranger.
Matter of taste, but it’s a nice vid with good fights.
In that duel you posted your problem wasn’t the pet, it was that you had no idea where the warrior was for greater than half the fight. If you haven’t already started, I would learn to make use of free camera and pull your zoom all the way back, it makes a massive difference.
I usually did but i couldn’t say why i had this zoom issue, probably from my gaming mouse since i change the keys very often outside of GW2. But i don’t know if it would have change something for my pets. Perplexity is even worst cuz the pet can still attack if he takes 10 stacks from me. And as you cant’ see the conditions on your pet, it’s a double pain.
I think that at least SoR or EB (should be better since it’s a GM trait) need to be changed.
I preferred Riptide and the girls in bikini come a bit too late for my taste. Kidding aside, the intro is quiet unexpected and really nice ;-)
[…] rangers have enough ways to clear conditions already.
That’s not the point.
I found this old duel to illustrate what i said above. I assume that i was quiet terrible during this fight since i didn’t expect this cheesy condi perplex build. But i made at least half of the mistakes because i was checking/worried about the pet HP/CD, there is so much thing to take care when you’re fighting, the passive clean mechanic of the ranger simply adds an unfairdifficulty/punishement. I had EB + SoR and i did my best to keep my pets alive. I know the game is not around 1vs1 but there is still something wrong here.
Saw a guy once with a pig “Chef Gordon Ramsay”.
It would be a bit strong for the ranger , mostly if you benefit from wilderness survival traits line too. I see no reason for you to remove 10 stacks of bleed buy simply dodging.
But i agree that ranger is the only class who have such a punishement clean mechanic. Am usually a hard counter to moderate/non cheesy condi build. But when i fight an heavy conditionner, the fight become suddenly unfairly hard compare to other classes since you have to take constantly a hard look to your pet while fighting, and despite that am pretty sure to lost one if not both my pets whatever the outcome of the fight.
Empathic bond shouldn’t affect the pet.
(edited by borya.2964)
Am not gonna laugh at this guy at 1:33 cuz i did the same thing once. Was kitting for ages a bunch of pug while i thought i was quietly coming back to my spawn…
I even remember myself saying on TS : “who’s the kitten one shooted me ?!”.

[THE VID IS DELETED SINCE I GET SOME ISSUE WITH IT]
Greetings rangers
Another wvW power ranger video wich is not much about stomping poeple but the fun i have to main ranger for a long time.
The build is :
- 0 /2 (sharpened edges) / 6 (wilderness knowledge, off-hand training, empathic bond) / 6 (strenght of spirit, evasive purity, nature’s voice) / 0
- troll unguent, signet of renewal, lightning reflexes, guard and rampage as one
- runes of the pack
- Mix of zerk/knight/captain/assasin stats (i reach 3 k armor while playing solo)
I use two different set of LB and dagger : the usual one is an assasin LB (generosity, fire) with a soldier dagger (cleansing) and the other one (thanks to WvW coffers) is a rampager LB (incapacitation, ice) as well as a rampager dagger (torment). The second one is used with koi cake and entangle.
Since am experiencing the FPS drop, lag and spikes most of the fights i have recorded are unwatchable. Those are not awsome but less choppy. I like the last one with the benny hill strategy like (when i am the only focused i just turn to the evasive chain while my guildies are killing my followers one by one). I have to say, ranger’s life is easy with such guildies.
(edited by borya.2964)
It is valid to say it is a fair way to practice. But it is equally valid to say it’s an enemy and kill them, regardless of duelling. The thing is, any argument that validates dueling, also validates killing one of the duelist if it is an enemy.
Validity is subjective. As i said, there is neither job nor rule in WvW, it’s only a game. TCHU is a very smal roaming guild for exemple, and we fight a lot of other roaming guilds that we do respect and you know what, sometimes we don’t even engage while running any other objective than to foolishly kill everyone who’s running around (cuz we know we ’ll find a good spot later to fight).
Beside, i can see sometimes some guys stomping everyone in OS, wich is a dedicated spot.
There is no rule, the only thing you can bring while playing is your own values and respect is a solid one. I respectfully answer that The OP have the right to interfere with a duel and the right to come crying like a kittened kid on the forum cuz he died.
Sometimes i can see an entire zerg walking around, ignoring the few guys who are watching/duelling. And sometimes you can see some guys jumping in a duel while several players are just standing around to watch with a map chat full of “X bows, Y bows, X bows” etc.
There is no job in WvW, it’s a game dude and roamers like to spontaneously duel with each other because it’s fun and it’s a fair way to practice.
. Otherwise I will keep interfering.
Then you’ll keep dying.
If i was sarcastic i would probably say that nobody care of your build in a zerg while following the pug s’ commander. There is no ranger in a good WvW guild run (but there are thieves on the periphery to reflect what Heimskarl said) . I can understand that you like the ranger (ofc) and i can barely understand that you like zerg fights, i main ranger for two years and a half and the few times i play in a zerg i just take my guardian, cuz, you know…
(edited by borya.2964)
I’m abit confused, why is there a casttime on a shout? I mean it just feels wierd, imagine: “I’m gonna shout just 1 sec just need to clear my throat” :P No but seriously why isnt “Guard” a instant as all other shouts?
To be fair, it’s the only shout wich use ground targeting and there is no so many instant groud trageting skills in the game.
That’s why shout build is completely USELESS in PVP.
I tried it some times ago, and it just not working even when combined with trait because you need to constantly waste 1 sec to cast guard to keep up the regen and swiftness. In reality you;ll just kept getting interrupted because of the long cast time, plus you need to spam it very frequently.
I am a Guard user in WvW for a very long time (used it before nature’s voice) and i ’ can’t even remember a fight where Guard have been interrupted, wich probably happened a lot of times. It means that it does not matter in a fight, ranger have a lots of dangerous skills wich are way better to interrupt. And i never understood this “spam” argument as if it was easier than to use passive signets…
Reverant will be much powerfull
Amen.
Unless you like to become a support that is all they are good for..
The pet is useless and the Bow is useless in a one on one battle. I feel like i am more of a cleric/supporter than a ranger in the Mists..Other People Character have more immunity against the ranger it is all most impossible to win..I switch character and became a thief and i have not lost a match with a ranger or a so called Mages they are easy to beat.If you like to heal and support and have a weak pet. This class is for you..Other than that dont expect anything else..
Fascinating point of view.
One thing regarding the build you linked is the change to RNG Condi removal. It’s imperative for my build to have Evasive Purity slotted. It’s crazy to rely on Empathic Bond’s RNG to remove the Poison condition before your burst heals. Remember you are capable of getting 13.5k in total burst healing. If you have Poison on you, that 13.5k burst heal turns into 6.75k burst heals, which is a lot of lost healing potential. Also the Swiftness from Guard is nice, but the Regen from it is redundant since I get Regen from my Runes and Healing Spring. My birds give me Swiftness and Sword Leap, Swoop and Lightning Reflexes allow me to get away from almost every situation.
You have a good point for evasive purity indeed, keep it. Like someone said above you could try the warhorn. When i said perma swiftness, it’s perma swiftness, inside and outside of combat (comdined with GS, sword and LR, it’s kittened crazy) wich profit also to your pets who get protection in the same time, since they can die realy fast. And i don’t see why perma regen is redundant, you talked about “178 HP per second”. It’s nothing, I’m a Guard user and i have already 148 HP/sec without healing power, signet or food.
(edited by borya.2964)
Oh man, you just ruined my day. I would immediatley give my account, full of wonderful skins and ascended gears to get your job. Say hi to the penguins (would make a great ranger pet) and have a good day, unless you’re going for the endless night !
[…]
I like this one (despite the fact that double bow is a crazy kittened idea), i think i would have made something similar. You could use sigil of incapaciation on the shortbow, it would help you to kite (you have sharpened edges already), generosity would be great (but i know the price).
While changing only 2 or 3 gears/trinkets (to keep around the same stats) you could make a really good use of another utilities.
Rampager longbow to keep the bleed damage pressure, carrion shoulders/gloves/boots, zerker amulet, furious maintenance oil and you already gain like 1,2 k HP with pretty much the same stats.
Anyways, if you’re going for this build i’d be curious of the feedback.
I thought about it but wasn’t too concerned about which did more damage. I am getting Fury from Entangle and LR, so 24% is good enough for me. 5 Guard stacks pushes it to 26-27% I think. But maybe Knights does in fact do more damage. Thanks for the feedback.
It ’s still bad considered. And all the surplus of toughness is quiet useless since the effectiveness is not exponential. A good ranger can already kite 2 or 3 lower players without such a tank build wich have finally the same limit (last fight). That being said, thanks for sharing.
Without to betray the spirit of the build you could take a look for something like this :
Some more precision, better access to fury (more logical i would say), perma switness (you really need this) and perma regen, possibly even more than your actual HP/sec (well, need to test) and both benefit to your pets, more cleans (you can clean a second condi burst outside the heal) and wayyy enough toughness to fight any 1 vs 2, the stab will go while swapping elite or the signet if you want, depending of the type of build you’ll face.
*Guard stacks doesn’t affect precision.
(edited by borya.2964)
It’s the first thing that truly bugged me.
Usually the guys who want new pets claim “creatures” like pets despite the fact that it seems obvious that the ranger’s pets are “animals” like. I would truly love a turtle, F2 would indeed be an AOE field, the turtle would stop moving, entering his shell. We can dream i guess.
The good thing is that it shows the limits of those builds with trapper runes (running without stun break, condi cleans etc). This war in the second part is a good player who really know what he’s doing.
I don’t want to be rude or something, but the “7 minutes later…” at 6:46 is just meh. It’s not so long just because you ‘re equally skilled players or/and the builds cancel each other (both are usually needed in such case) , but because you ran 60 % of the time. You crossed the line between kitting and avoiding the fight to me. And it’s not so enjoyable to watch, really.
(edited by borya.2964)
So what build exactly in mind do you think it’d be overpowered on a 40 seconds CD soft CC removal?
Sotf variant? That build damage potential is at least 33% lower than the regular glass bow, making ranger less of a threat.
Condition survival variant? They already go full cleanse, what makes a difference if they add 1 more soft CC removal on long cool down?
Some of the “useless utilities” need rework, but this is not the thread to discuss about it. I’m just here to prepose a QoL change to ranger that can give ranger “choices”.
You can make another thread about these and I’m all for it.Engineer and thief has so much choice that even a great skill like rocket boot doesn’t worth putting in their utility slot most of the time. For ranger, it is like picking a few less bad ones from all the bad ones. Everything is so reliant on the traits.
Your a glass ranger with (quiet passive play) signets and LB (max range)/GS, period. You could easily trait to get LR at least on a 32 sec CD. You could use S/D instead of GS to easily keep the range you need. Only two simple choices you don’t want to make.
I’m one of those " less of a threat" ranger, here is my build :
I lost some DPS, right. I sacrificed max range, right. What’s the balance ? I am perma swiftness, i have a lots of cleans (even an active clean on weapon swap), i can break immo, i have two break stun, + 3k armor, high stability uptime, high cripple and poison uptime, lots of avades and mostly a good amount of damage. I am a hard counter to zerker builds, no matter the class, i am a hard counter to (non cheesy) conditions builds, no matter the class.
Quoted from another tred :
Condition necro, contrary to popular belief, are one of the biggest counters of power ranger. All they need to do is land one chill on me so I cant run, then they can safely chain CC me to death. Condition War and Zerk Mediation Guardian are also extremely tough match-up because they have infinite gap closer, lots of soft CC, and too many ways to negate my damage completely for quite awhile. (Guardian can blind, immob, block, invulnerable to waste my burst then burst me down, War can gap close me with 1-h sword, negate my CC with balance stance, and tank my damage very well) Thief can take advantage of stealth and easily gap close me and burst me down first, and spam dodges while dps me up front. Condition engineer has 1 reflect, 1~2 blocks to completely negate my burst, outrun me with rocket shoe and permanent swiftness, and can quickly melt me down with confusion and other dot. Those are all hard counter to power ranger, that I need to use my pet and positioning very effectively in order to beat them.
I have absolutlely no troubles with all those kind of classes/builds, especially not in a 1 vs 1 fight. I made CHOICES and built for it. I like all my “useless utilities”, I main ranger for two years and believe me, i am a kittened threat in solo and small scale roaming in WvW. There’s no raisonnable reason why you should have easy access to what you want without make true choices.
(edited by borya.2964)
Cripple and chill seriously hamper the skill’s practical use in both combat and escapes.
I am a LR user in a power build without SOTF.
And yes, an evade skill wich is made to primary break stun and recover your dodge bar is seriously hampered by chill and cripple. And a skill, like rocket boots, wich is made to remove soft cc is seriously hampered by a control effect like stun and daze. I don’t get the point, really.
I think they are quite similar
Nope, RFI is an evade skill made to BOTH remove cc and break stun and it’s a pretty unique thief utility. That’s the point.
(edited by borya.2964)
I don’t see lightning reflexes would be anywhere remotely OP just because it removes soft CC, because rocket boot has other functions too, and let me repeat, the CD is HALF.
Remove soft cc is the primary fonction of rocket boots, and as i said, it’s not the purpose of LR. It’s as simple as that.
Right now you can use LR in 3 differents ways : to break stun, to remove immobilize or evade attacks (you have 10 sec based of vigor each time). It’s a very good skill to me but you would like to have the choice to use it in a forth way, because the way you explained it, you would only use it to also remove chill and/or cripple in some situations. As a LR user, the change would be awsome but i think it’s too much. If LR doesn’t fit your build, don’t use it.
I think in order for lightning reflexes to be a reliable retreat skill, it should have the same function as the other 2 variants.
Rocket boots doesn’t evade attacks and is a blast finisher and you forgot the 10 sec based of vigor with LR.The 3 skills haven’t got the same primary fonction. LR is made to break stun while evading attacks and recover your dodge bar(and the immo break was a very necessary change because immo prevent the dodge, not chill and cripple). This change would be too powerful in a SOTF build or even a S/D evade ranger. It works perfectly fine to me.
First it’s not a melee build at all, you’re a condi bunker with trapper runes.
I am not a big fan of those runes but if i had to try, i would probably go for the same build. I would take wilderness knowledge with lightning reflexes (wich also benefit entangle) instead of shared anguish with the frost trap. Two traps is enough and you don’t really need the extra 2sec of chill). And since you never use the fire combo, i would probably use sword/dagger and axe/torch to get a true kitting weapons set. You have a good amount of crit %, so you should also change your sigils (torment etc).
The vid is nice, but quiet choppy.

RaO , if traited like the OP said, would be 10 stacks of might for 26 sec (ranger + pet), 10 stacks of stability for 26 sec (ranger + pet), fury for 26 sec (ranger) + fury for 7, 3/4 sec (ranger), swiftness for 26 sec (ranger) + 2 conditions removed on 96 sec CD. It should also break stun i guess. It’s ridiculous.
And your comparisons have no sense outside of traits and builds.

Nice vids, every music with electric guitars is welcome. I don’t even understand how you failed in the camp (the other topic).
I don’t like the third one (even in a funny way). Underestimate your opponent is a very bad habit.
In both cases you could have stomped him quiet easily. You have half the tools, stealth and fear (no stab).
If you want to kill a guy in camp, you have first to be way more offensive. Don’t pay attention to the NPCs and don’t forget they give you retaliation. In both cases you uselessly used SoS, all too soon. You should have kept it for the stomp i guess, same for the wolf, go in the camp, pew pew him, use stealh to approach and switch pet while stomping to keep fear if you need it. You should have taken RAO too the second time.
It’s quiet a frustrating vid ^^.

Fox is a guildie and i don’t play pvp. But you should give it a try before (maybe with your own build) to say that it’s not viable. Melee ranger is viable.
