Oh no you don’t… If we attack team red we are playing for second and if we attack green we are double teaming. Are we meant to keep a tally of how many IoJ towers we take and offset it with some DH towers?

BP and AR are working together silly! Like about 30 mins ago we let BP into ARBL bay to do some interior design (who knew green went so well with the curtains and drapes in the lords room).

They are very serious about it though… They didnt seem to want to let us take a look before it was all finished, but we were desperate to get in and sneak a peek and we had to literally fight our way past them! Unfortunate when we did the wife got mad and claimed blue looked much better and we had to change it back

I will consider their services for future jobs however, I am pretty sure our hills and garrison are in need of some tlc. Maybe after we are done doubleteaming the red teams!

Hmm that’s a shame… I really like swapping between my characters depending on what’s needed at the time, and this is going to force me to play one…

It’s a shame too, because my Mesmer is my commander character but I still love all my others (except the ranger lol) and my staff ele and hammer warrior are my current fav’s so it seems I will either have to give up commanding or play with a character I already have 900hrs on and have grown a little bored of…

Why is fire tooth still allowed without LoS… Mesmer izerker and ranger guard got the LoS fix but not eles?

I have over 1780 hrs on my account. Nowhere near completeing any of these.
I think they should be made more realistic because even if they bring in new titles having these take 2.8 years of doing just one thing on-stop no sleep is stupid.

Portals allow players to traverse a distance without risk of taking damage. Of course they can be used strategically… But 20 is fine, it’s a shame the 90s cooldown stuck…

Isn’t t8 also lopsided? If you are looking to go there hit up FC or ET, because they currently don’t seem to be able to stand up to SF and need the help.

While I have accidentally found myself and other guildies sucked into that tower on a number of occasions the responses is and always will/should be “Just jump out”.

If you accidently cap a tower by taking a tainted Mesmer portal (ikr…) you should just leave it undefended as a show of sportsmanship. If more guilds that drill this into their members everyone will have a much more enjoyable time ingame.

I don’t think it is fair to condem a server over the actions of the few, so long as they take a strong stance in rectifying the issue (which many of the DH guys who spoke to me, in re: to the flying hacker, seemed to)

Should be an easy fight for us at NSP since AR only knows how to play for second place.

You should put up a pretty good fight too, since you cant loose on purpose to drop into a lower tier.

There’s only one “o” on lose. It’s really not that difficult a word. You’d think AR would be better with that word considering how familiar it is to them.

But it was only one guild who decided to tank, and they probably learned that strategy from their time on AR. Remember, the only reason NSP stayed in T6 was because DH decided to tank while NSP continued to put up a fight.

You only put up a fight for 3 days. Then took 4 days off while Rob carried you for weeks. He took a week off and you dropped. His back must be hurting from carrying you guys in T6 for close to 2 months.

AR is in last on Wednesday morning. Points difference between NSP and first is less than 3k.

Well, how do the scores get there then? Well, the PPT for NSP is rather consistent across most time periods. The only real trends that come out are a dip around noon and right at the end of prime time (about 9pm). The other trend is that AR’s PPT has no relationship with NSP’s. Almost exclusively, movements in NSP PPT are offset by movement in BP’s PPT.

I’d ask you how it feels to be in the lead, but the last time that happened (by more than a few hundred points or so) for AR is on 2/13. I guess that makes NSP having a 3k point lead on 2/17 seem a bit more recent.

What does being in the lead beginning-midweek mean anyway? Nothing is the answer.

I don’t know that I’d say “good fights” prior to the coverage gap kicking in. The (sensible and appropriate*) 2v1 took 4+ hours to push into NSP’s side of EB, and only finished capping things out when most of NSP abandoned the map to push borderlands.

*I note this as “sensible and appropriate” because it’s absolutely what HoD and GoM needed to do. Whether it was outright agreed to or just tacitly conducted, it only makes sense that the two of you would want to avoid hitting each other for as long as possible.

I don’t know what server you are from, but what you are basically saying is that you highly doubt both your server’s skills and the other server’s, that isn’t NSP, so you need to double team NSP. If I were on the server that you aren’t on, that isn’t NSP, I would be highly offended and not work with you due to your implication that the server is bad and can’t fend for itself.

It’s nice to see that anthsss’s double teaming claims are not tier restricted. For a moment there I was beginning to think that us and BP were the only guys that double teamed!

Two words… Fly hackers. Seen two today, one lowbie ranger (meh) and one mesmer inner ARBL bay (a lot more serious).

Perhaps I am being presumptuous in saying so, but consider tier 6. We tend to have very close and competitive match-ups, with a lot of friendly (and not so friendly) inter-server rivalry. I personally play on Borlis Pass, and naturally will put my plug in for us, but you really can’t go too wrong. T6 has a nice balance of population, giving opportunities for both zerg-level, small group, and individual roaming play styles. Most of T6 is on BP. I would try to bat for my own team but (being a commander living in Australia) AR has no real night crew so you may end up feeling the same way, although I would doubt BP is anywhere near as strong as DB’s night crew so it may be more fun to fight against! We do need more oceanic players however…

It’s not BP’s numbers that is hurting you, it’s BP’s ability with numbers. Simple math shows that unless AR gets the stones to attack BP, BP will win. We are giving you unfettered access to attack BP and you are still content to doggedly keep a come second at all costs strategy. Don’t worry about us dropping, DH will hate AR just as much as everyone else. And I’m sure your superior coattail holding will let you be 2nd next week too.

Wrong. The problems is we are playing a 3 way game with only 2 teams. AR doesn’t have the map coverage to hold our stuff (ARBL, our section of eb), and nsp’s, and still attack BP. If we was to drop out of NSP BL, and attack BP’s BL it wouldn’t be long before BP rolled into NSPbl and capitalised.

If NSP would stop throwing its toys out the pram and actual hold both its BL and section of EB (because BP are pretty much always getting 70 free points constantly from that and you could count the 35 from sm as BP only have to ever worry about AR attacking it) it might be a little more even.

It’s not only that, but I have tried to take groups into bpbl, and the first tower/keep/camp I attack (it doesn’t matter if I don’t touch anything and run straight to north tower etc) has a little Upscaled BP minion sitting on a mortar/cannon/ac or scampering around ready to raise the alarm. Couple that with the fact that when either myself or another ALS commander pull people to do something like that we can be sure to press M and find areas of the map turning from blue to green where we are not. Now I don’t mean any disrespect to anyone else on the server when I say that but its pretty much the truth for most of the off peak times of the day.

I still don’t run that build on my mesmer, but after seeing everyone cry about it I was very tempted.

Moral of the story is to post your opinions to Anet directly, not tell the whole world about the hard counter to your build and act surprised when more and more people use it lol.

I mean props for having a humongous Zerg and absolutely destroying everything we had, it was literally a sea of red… (well red and green because almost everyone was Upscaled) but seriously? How did you not cap that… Yeah we got some help but it was nowhere near the numbers you guys had.

I just don’t get where you borlis seem to pull all these numbers from, do you go to lions arch and callout “1g for every person that comes to EB and follows me?” or something? To match you guys we have to pull lots of people of all the other maps, and I still hear “30 BP attacking ARBL bay” down TS. It’s mind boggling!

I seem to recall a massive golem rush earlier in the week hitting AR hills with a certain NSP guild straight through the outer door about 10 mins after BP broke it down.

I know exactly why they were there and what they wanted but to anyone else that could see that as NSP’s underhanded attempt scavenge or ‘just follow’ as you put it. Point I am trying to make is this is a 3-way battle, so stop making stupid uninformed comments about doubleteaming and/or servers picking battles in an opportunist fashion because everyone does it.

Best way to achieve peace is to use the invisi-fountains.

Had fun in EB until some scrub commanders came along and started splitting my group lol. You know you have a troll commander when he trys to pull everyone to the grub when both walls of stonemist are down and screams “Grub!” in team chat…

No wonder people don’t like commanding there any more! Regardless, I had fun ruining those golems you kept chucking at us. I cant remember who brought a branspanking new Omega with some little alpha buddies in only for us to break it down before it even got damage on the gate (think it was bp, but NSP chucked a fair few golems at us too!)

I just did the same with “Orrian Reward Breastplate” (medium) for my guardian… I was after “Orrian Breastplate”, go figure… Goodbye 310 shards of zhaitan and around 10 hours worth of dungeon time with it… :’(

Why are we still able to buy soulbound items of the wrong armor type from these guys. I know its on me for being a fool, but accidentally wasting 310 Shards of Zhaitan on an ‘Orrian Reward Breastplate" when I was actually after an “Orrian Breastplate” leaves me feeling very sad knowing how much time that I wasted in arah. I mean why medium armor is even called a breastplate bad enough, but the fact I cant do anything about it is just horrible :’(

I don’t understand why its possible to buy items of armor that are completely useless to the character you are on. Surely it should just grey out those items not allowing you to purchase them to save any accidents…

I was on the treb :P We had some very ‘interesting’ siege placement in that fight which led to a lot of wasted supply, but that treb placement wasn’t one of them. The guy who built it helped me spot and we had a few good eles on TS which really helped increase its longevity.

At the end of the day it came down to that lords room defence for which a “Bravo anvil pants” is in order. I had died trying get the guys to push out and take out some of those catas because the wall was so low and when I wp’d back in I just saw red bodies everywhere!

Yep, and emotes work but having to type one in the middle of a fight isn’t ideal.

I am finding when playing my guardian that I am often getting routed on completion of skills when I am not actually immobilised. Is this a problem anyone else has noticed?

I am shocked to not see any comments from BP about the Hills fiasco… You had a HUGE amount of people in there!

The never ending chain of supply and the shear amount of catapults (many superior too) that went up was mind boggling. I am glad we held it in the end. Oh and sorry about those golems, when I saw them strolling around I couldnt help but run up to the cannon and ruin them.

A Mesmer has these options available.

Blink which is a teleport skill
Compounding Celerity which grants a speed increase for each active illusion
Phase retreat which allows you to teleport 1200 units away
Temporal Curtain which grants 33% increase for 12 seconds.

You clearly do not actually know what you’re talking about.
Guardian has Judge’s Intervention, a ground target teleport as well.
Compounding Celerity is worthless for out of combat movement speed because it can only work in combat because illusions require combat.
Phase retreat does not function as you state, and is only usable in combat anyway.

Not only does Guardian have far easier access to long swiftness durations, they also have a leap on the greatsword that can actually be used out of combat (unlike the leap on Mesmer’s sword).

Before you accuse someone of not knowing what they are talking about perhaps you should insure that you do. Judges Intervention HAS to have a target otherwise it goes off where you stand. And using Leap as a GS skill is totally useless to cover ground quickly unless you are in combat as by the time it activates you could easily cover that much ground at a normal run.

But using the GS Leap PLAINLY moves faster than regular movement speed out of combat.
And I still stand by you not knowing what you’re talking about if you brought up Compounding Celerity. That’s a misunderstanding on a fundamental level about Mesmer, since everyone knows illusions can only be active in combat.

No you wasn’t wrong about GJ, all you have to do is target something in the distance and use it and it will cover the distance trying to get to it even if it is out of range. Same can be said about the 600 sword blink guardians have. While I don’t have a lvl 80 guardian I do have one at 77, so I am not a complete idiot.

I think it would be a good idea to let the camp quartermaster sell a caravan masters uniform which renders a player unable to battle but spawns a yak which will follow them around, that way you could take supply from spiritholm all the way down the rebriar if you wanted haha.

And the sentry is mainly there to just hinder and/or stop enemy dolyaks from passing. For the most part, they do that just fine as they are.

Really? The sentry cannot even kill a dolyak. Sentries are a joke. Sentries should be an upgrade option at the nearest camp or tower/keep/castle. The default sentry needs a serious buffing too.

The game type seems to be setup so the player interaction is always required.

You may notice that as the dolyak walks on it’s journey monsters spawn to eat it, but they don’t actually do enough damage to kill it, just seriously injure. It’s only when things chain together in an unintentional way (like the umber to valley yak route where it gets attacked by wolves and ghosts nearly the same time) when dolyaks get sniped by npc’s.

I kinda like it that way, people shouldn’t rely on npc’s to do your enemy yak sniping for you, and on the same token it encourages people to defend yaks and kill the npc’s because the snipe is that much easier when a drake has done all the work for you.

Sorry if that was kind of off topic but the moral of the story is this is a PvP gametype, you need to be defending your towers not npc’s. If you don’t you will lose them and as a commander on Anvil rock you can trust there is bias in my comments because we seem to find it very hard to have scouts and defenders in towers prior to attacks.

People on anvil rock should learn to trust one another. If there isn’t a commander on all that means is there isn’t a blue dot on the mini map. We have a large number of really great leaders that haven’t been able to afford the 100g for whatever reason but are not given the time of day by the general public.

I have the same issue they do whenever I play an alt, there is just not trust placed In anyone with a decent plan even when there are no others on the table. It’s a shame those types of people don’t go on the forums! Haha

Other instances I recorded include diving into water and having mace shield for about 15 seconds underwater (with a blank skillbar) and magical disappearing dolphins.

Western Australia here, terrible skill lag also. The only time I have had it this bad was in the middle of a zergy 3way in stonemist, except this time I am fighting pirates in a baron bloodtide coast on Anvil Rock server at 5pm (UTC +8).

Not sure what has changed over the past week but its been terrible for the most part.

If a Mesmer is downed you walk up to them and press f sometimes twice if you don’t have any blinks. If you swing your sword at a downed Mesmer you deserve to be on the floor right next to him.

Nearing 150k not seen or heard many EU with as much. i think next highest is cyril with 115k or so. Hopefully few months till ultimate dominator. 1565 hours played, which i know a lot of people have more. So its not as hard as made out you just need to wvw and kill alot.

Yeah I am around 1400 hrs with only ~13k kills if I remember rightly, I have a number of alts so I can blame it on that but the real issue is likely that I can’t say I take on 2 zergs with 12 of my guildies and come out victorious haha.
