More RNG nonsense with incredibly low drop rates. Stuff like this turns item acquisition into the lotto. You don’t run TA in hopes of acquiring the weapons for yourself, you run it in hopes of winning the lotto. Everyone else has to grind out tonnes of gold so the lotto winners can cash their ticket in. I’m so sick of this kind of RNG.

Completed the path eight times now and haven’t received any exotics at all, let alone the new skins (and going on the price in the trading post these are EXTREMELY rare, the staff is over 220g right now…)
Maybe its just that my account only has 87% magic find.. Idk. I did a run with an omnomberry bar and the birthday booster (over 200% MF) and didn’t see any noticeable improvement in drops other than one uniD dye /shrug
They don’t, free trial weekend and they don’t
A) disable mail on new accounts to stop them receiving the money or siege plans to grief with.
B) just flat out disable wvw access for free accounts.
It doesnt take much foresight to see this kinda thing happen but they are too focused on pulling new people in and not taking care of the ones they already have -_-

No it’s not. It still has single, very limited source. Laurels income is not multiplied by number of alts. Neither is liquid WEXP. We still have single pool of resources to spend across all characters. Guess what – as long as there are useful masteries to have, all of this pool will be spent on main.

The addition of the bonus WXP for laurels/badges is simply intended to give WvW players an additional option they can spend their laurels/badges on, it is not intended to fix any issues with alts and WxP.
We’re aware of, and actively discussing the amount of progression we’ve added through WxP and the difficulty for playing multiple characters as a result. When we make changes to help address alts/WxP rank, we’ll make sure to specifically call out the change is to help address that issue.
It would have solved the issue. Had you not made it a requirement to use laurels too… It’s just getting a little hard to keep track of all the carrots and their sticks right now, so it would have been nice for you to keep this simple.
Wxp only has an effect on the user, there is no monitory gain to be had by using all your badges on wxp, so doing this would have no risk. Sure it might make content more easily attainable for people who only main one character, but at least it wouldn’t punish those who use alts.
The current system makes alts very hard to maintain as too much emphasis is placed on timegated currencies, all the while allowing those who only man one character to go nuts after all their ascended items have been purchased…

It was implemented to help alts. Ends up just making it easier for people who don’t have alts to increase wvwxp…
8 alts = 40 ascended accessories, and a hell of a lot of laurels. Mr 1characteronly only has to get 5 and has plenty of laurels left over to spend on even more wxp…

When will badges be the primary focus of a purchase (like the old days) instead of a pointless side cost…
I’m not sure if it was a ‘waste of time’. I didn’t pay attention to what rewards were actually given as a result of completing this path because I found it fun and challenging. The dungeon does a good job (IMO) of slowly introducing you to mechanics you need to kill the final boss.
The dungeon was long I will agree with that, but without accurately knowing the rewards amount off the top of my head I can’t comment on whether or not it is worth repeating often. At the very least, completing it once was worth it. I think things will go much more smoothly when I get together with guilders instead of pugging it.
I think when sparky lights the oil slicks it makes lots of toxic fumes. Don’t quote me on that but the first few attempts we didn’t mop up enough oil with the ooze and found no matter where we stood in the room (not in oil) we would be getting at least 10 stacks of the fumes dot causing a wipe.
I had one run, nobody in my party got the drop. The previews look cool though, shame it’s left to RNG unlike other dungeon weapons…
What would I honestly stand to gain by lying to you… It’s completely doable, just kite thg ooze through the oil slicks. Nobody said you had to stand in melee and eat his powerful attacks…
FYI my group killed sparky first. We felt it was easier to control the oil when they were not getting lit on fire by sparky.
Teutos is right, it is fairly straight forward so long as everyone realises as soon as they have ooze agro that they are in cleanup duty. My pug party wiped about 3 times before we got it right but that’s how it should be with randoms and no voice comms.
I guess they felt DB/Ebay/BP was a more balanced fight. First thing anet has done right

Make a YouTube video, make sure every Mesmer in the game knows how to do it and they will have no choice but to fix such a game breaking bug.
Please implement a non-pet ranger option like the spirit one stated above. Pets just don’t last long in wvw to all the stray aoes and melee trains.
Unless you can make pets stronger and smarter, give us the option to turn them off and not be 40% less effective

Anet will never implement something that will deter players from grouping up.
If you have some anti Zerg debuff mechanic players will qq when a loan pug comes along and tips the number of players over the threshold making everyone angry at him/her.
The build on October 1st is going to add WXP consumables to player kills, which should make a pretty sizable dent in this. It is the case that making the events themselves reward WXP is problematic at best because of how easily they cycle. All that said, we’ll make more adjustments as needed to make this a better place to play WvW. A bonus for kills in the area isn’t a bad idea at all.
How about the liquid Wxp for badges you said was coming, is the also in this patch?
Don’t base anything off of wvw ranks. All they measure is how much you Zerg or pvdoor. People forgo enough benifits (ascended drops, loot, xp karma etc..) by bring helpful and upgrading/resetting and building siege/running yaks etc… Why punish them even more…
Really interesting concept! I think it would be nice to hear stealthed characters footsteps in stealth too xD
But the guys sitting around drunk singing Katy perry songs are gonna get the best rewards purely due to coverage and numbers.

My recomendation would be to give up. They don’t care, after all we (thepeople of the forms) are the minority and the majority of the gw2 is apparently happy with the party/squad/commander system… #devlogic

Overflow is not “stupid” it’s there for a reason. Just stay in the zone so you get queued and wait until you get ported to your original server.
In my day we had to wait 2 hours in queue just to get LOGGED into World of Warcraft and we liked it!

Why don’t we get WXP for capping/defending these.
It’s far too easy to flip them just to farm WXP. One thing that is coming soon is an addition of WXP consumables to the player loot bags, which should make a pretty big addition to the amount of WXP you get from being in the area, assuming you are killing players. As to adding it to the general capping of the points, we’ll have to consider that pretty carefully before we make any changes.

Frequency needs to be increased. Its not an easy fight and not having many opportunities makes it very hard to complete or even practice unless you can sit in sparkfly of him for hours at a time.
It seems like this event is going to be far too difficult for the average group of players to complete without a large voice comms community. And because of how infrequently you get a chance to do it failure sucks even more.
So I ask is anyone making a guild specifically for completing this beating this event? Arranging groups specifically designed for each aspect of this fight (turret defense, finger destruction etc).
Its not like he is asking for th end of skill lag or new maps..
What’s so hard about putting an item that is already in the game (liquid Wxp) at a vendor for pure badges. Would give us a use for them…

It has an aoe skill to give the buff to nearby allies.
We beat him, it takes coordination and good commanders. How we did it was, we broke up into 5 man organized teams for each turret and the rest follow 2 commanders on 2 different pathways, one left, one right and split the turrets to defend either left or right zerg. This is very doable and I’m hearing the whiners already. They clearly need to learn strategy, which is fantastic. Love this new revamp!!!!
Did your guild livestream/record/anything? As the majority of the servers claim 80-90% health at the end I want to see proof this happened.
If you did it as some superguild event I am sure someone recorded it…

We got him to around 70% but then everyone died and refused to go to the nearest waypoint and run back.
Time it takes to rez = 15 seconds
Time to run back = 1 minute
It is YOU who failed to rez, no one should be running back.
Time wasted when no scrubs get downed by sitting in poison = 0 seconds
