Anet should fix focus before new weapons however.
How about in PvE you make conditions last half as long and do double the damage. That way conditions are dropping off faster allowing for reapplication but are still doing the same amount of damage.
A change like this would allow more condition players a chance to deal thier damage to a foe in world events, and would make conditions more viable in the dungeon scene.
Please make elementalist focus more attractive. I would argue its the least used weapon in the ele’s roster.
To me the focus feels like it is wanting to be a really strong team support and personal survivability weapon. Skills like swirling winds make that evident.
Flame wall could be such a helpful skill if it granted a buff to allies passing through (like 5 second fury) and/or burns boons off enemies passing through it. Right now there seems no reason to use it.
Also fire shield is terrible because it doesn’t help anyone and it relies on you taking damage. I personally think it could use a change. Perhaps if it became a self combo’ing skill (like Black power) 1second fire field and a ground targeted leap a little like the engi’s jump shot (without the spike damage at the end) just to give the focus one avenue of engage/escape and still retain the aura. The 40 second cooldown for such a horrible skill is completely unjustified.
Other than that I think other peoples ideas for adjustments outside of fire attunement are good. I just think SOMETHING has to be done. It has a lot of potential but is let down by some useless skills. I would love to take projectile denial from swirling winds into world vs world but I can’t take a weapon based on one skill
So the fact you can’t place rams that far away anywhere else means what exactly?

I want to stress that my question is not “is this achievable” or “has this always been like this”. I want to know that if, after the nerfs to ram range, it intended for rams to be able to hit gates this far away and as such, be able to be used on both gates in the eternal battlegrounds keeps.
hi guys, I am sure all wvwvw server have cheats/hacks…but this week sbi not only have the numbers …also a lot of cheats and hacks….I have pics from back in june and now sbi is up to its old dirty cheats and hacks. I am not sure if anet will allow me to keep the pics on this post…but here it is……this is in wild creek ..eternal map…sbi is still outside and the gate still up…yet they were able to zoomhack and target inside
THE POINT IS ZOOMHACK AND OTHER CHEAT ALLOWS SBI TO CLEAR ALL SIEGES FROM TOP OF WALLS AND EVEN INSIDE …wayyy inside..
so whats the point of wvwvw if a server can only win by cheating?
I do have an idea…have anet employees sign on the complaining server with a super user account during peak time and observe all the cheats and hacks
and may be anet will do some thing about it
Calm down. That is just dragon tooth ele skill, it does not need line of sight to hit.
I like that iZerker got nerfed to stop exactly this last year, yet dragons tooth continues to avoid LoS restrictions every other skill abides by… Zero logic.
Both BP and YB are trying to tank their ratings before the match up. (Which doesn’t matter)
You can already tell though this league kitten is seriously broken. When you’re throwing matches to drop ranks because you’d rather rotflstomp lower servers as opposed to facing kitten for 7 weeks…There’s a lot that ANET needs to fix.

Or it could just be we (borlis and yaks bend) are up against a bandwagon server full of hopefuls looking to cruise through to silver victory but instead inadvertently pushed the server up to gold for some pain.
If borlis (rank12 at the time) could comfortably come second against rank 7 and 9 last week to gain 50 precious evolution points that isn’t very indicative of a server trying to tank ratings. Surely they would have rolled over and let eBay/mags have an extra borderland to play in. Regardless of how much many of us hate this idea of leagues, the server will continue to play as it always has because it’s not a dictatorship.
Anyways, you wanna chestbash on the forums carry on. All I have to say is: Numbers is numbers is numbers, and hope you enjoy JQ BG and SoR, because I sure as hell am not looking forward to it.

Temporal curtains swiftness stacks with no existing swiftness duration. Seemingly done to stop people running back and forth over it to stack high amounts of swiftness.

I don’t think we need more area denial ‘lines of warding’ because the devs said staff is going to get one. However I do agree fire is pathetic on focus.

Yes they should, all exotics require 5 ectos to make when you craft an inscription. The inscriptions you salvage from sets that are not craftable (like dire shamans etc) have to have an additional ecto cost. Or people would just not craft normal sets(like knights, zerker, clerics etc…) at all when levelling.
Away I deleted a pair of shoulders today because I accidentally double purchased them and realised I couldnt sell salvage or forge them
Noticed a bug today whereby the enemy were able to use rams built to hit the outer gate at a double gate keep entrance to also damage the inner gate.

Up contest timers to 10 mins each. Give out real rewards to defenders as a result of this. 10 mins is plenty of time. It takes less than 10 mins to kill some world bosses… (fire ele, shadow bee, etc)
Make it so that doing 5% worth of damage to a gate or wall contests waypoints (to stop people from locking down waypoints for 10 mins at a time by just Fireing one arrow akitten.

I would like them to change Invaders stats to be Toughness(major), power vitality(minor)
That way we have all three options available (soldiers for Pvt and sentinels for Vpt). Also the new stats would be nice too

Does this mean you are against the stat swap around of invaders gear?
It would also make wvw matter slightly more. You an currently only get invaders gear from wvw and badges. Would be nice for us wvw’ers to get an exclusive in terms of gear, especially as the (rather boring/bland) wvw skins can be obtained through low level karma gear.
We need more reasons to get pve’ers trying out wvw. Most try it out, notice you get no rewards unless you can find a karma train, and go back to farming easy open world champions. We dont have anything to keep pve’ers engaged enough to truly understand what wvw is about and how fun it can be.
So currently we have two iterations of the Power Toughness Vitality sets.
Sentinels set which is vitality major, power and toughness minor.
Invaders/soldiers sets which are power major, toughness and vitality minor.
Is it possible to have invaders changed to become toughness major, power vitality minors? That way we have all three options available to us.
The line became more lacklustre than it already was. Shame really.

About the only useful thing a pet can do is if you flank yourself enough the pet can run straight for the enemies ranged back line to cause havoc. As that itself is not entirely useful id say pets need a revamp.
Even if it was something as simple as allowing you to plot the path a pet would take to reach an enemy (ie hold down the f1 key and click to make sorta waypoint like marks where the pet runs to before going to the enemy) so you can at let send it around the enemy Zerg, that would be useful.

There’s a Branded champion in Iron Marches (Victurus the Shattered). NEVER seen anyone trying to take him.
Solo’d this guy today with a trap ranger while doing map comp. He was easy, most of his damaging attacks are slowcast aoe shatter, and as a ranger they would most likely be aimed at my pet devourer.
I wish they would start putting these meta achievement rewards in the reusable skin section like radiant/hellfire and zenith. Much more alt friendly. I mean after all, we get punished enough through ascended stuff, why not at least let us use our rewards on a couple character if we so desire… It’s not like the tech isn’t already there….
Can see it now, Zerg capping hills they kill all the guards and the enemy is running to save it. Cap gets to 99% and some troll activates mapwide stealth for 20 seconds lol
Guards in the scenarios above mentioned tend to run stat sets with majors in power (soldiers, clerics). So yeah, they will have high power and high retaliation damage as a result.
It just seems like the only ones having issues are the engi because of the high hit rate of thier skills and everyone else doesn’t seem to care. Not very fair if you ask me.
They should make retail proc on melee. What kinda sense is there in taking damage from 1500 away anyway. When I think retal I think of thorns, hell even the animation seems to portray that fact.

Quite honestly you were probably getting splash damage.

Devs seem think that if it actually gives stat boosts players will rage at people for coming onto a map, removing the outmanned buff and as a result the statistical advantage they would have had if said person didn’t zone in.
The devs know it’s going to ruin wvw for a number of servers. They have been told enough times by enough people that it’s a bad idea. They have the statistical data to show that r7-12 servers can not come close to matching the coverage and numbers of r4-6 let along the top ranked servers.
Bottom line is they just don’t give a f….

I didn’t think culling did anything towards skill lag. Is it not based on the skill interactions between players overloading the server.
Anet loves big battles and wants to keep that in wvw but if the servers can’t handle it something needs to be done.
Yeah, 20 gold might deter a truly causal player. But after the “Scarlet Wars” everyone should have 20 gold just lying around

They should allow you to plant a tree in your home instance like the quartz node
There is already a system to do this. Check your settings tab ingame.
“by the end of the year” is what Devon has said. Let’s hope they take into account some of the features the community wants from an improved commander system rather than having thier own little brainstorm completely unrelated to what we really need.

I never had problems with that trib cloud anyway. If you are quick enough you can escape his lightning bolts range.

I never said that running away and zerging people is a solution. I just posed the instance to be a why bother… What did that thief do for his server? What does any groupbating roamers do for their server? Why would I want to stop to fight this guy when my guild is trying to defend a tower…
What I am trying to get at is the only time these runes become an issue is when people try to do things that dont really serve a purpose in wvw. Now you play the game however you want, but complaining in a wvw forum about your issues with perplexity 1v1 1v2 etc is like complaining about 6k (on 3k armor) backstab thieves, or like stunfordayz runfordayz warriors, or any other 1v1 meta. These builds, however strong in 1v1, are good only for distracting people who are otherwise trying to defend/capture points, which doesn’t mean a whole lot to wvw as a whole and that there are arguably more pressing issues with this new league system to worry about.
And yeah, go speak to devon about runes and I am pretty sure he will say its not an area the wvw team works on.

Difficulty was fine. It was increasingly difficult for me because I am in Australia and the ping/lag kills are hard to comprehend at times.
Obviously the game is easier when you know the safe path but to find it was difficult enough.
^Don’t know why you’re wasting your time explaining that to him. He admitted to just being a scrub zergling who runs back to the safety of the swarm since he can’t 1 vs 1. NOTHING is a problem if you simply outnumber your opponent, you can run around naked and drop aoes and still get kills.
So mindless zerglings, please hush up. You get no say in the matter here, your opinion doesn’t count. The runes ARE a problem in smaller groups where skill actually does matter and you can’t just spam 1 and see bodies pop up.
I play with my guild not the zerg but whatever (cant expect people like the above to use his/her brain before a post),. Stop clogging up the wvw forums with pointless threads about runes that have no effect on normal wvw mechanics and that wvw devs cant even fix anyway.
The upcoming league system making stacked servers with mapzerg blobs fighting low pop servers like mine is a much more pressing issue.
How many of these threads are there going to be. Worry about the upcoming league system that is going to ruin wvw for 7 weeks not some silly runes that do absolutely nothing in normal wvw play (nobody cares about your small gank squads picking on lowbie upscaleds).
Not once have I been in a stituation where these runes were an issue. The only time I had been caught out was against a perplexity headshot thief on my s/d ele (aka EVERYTHING interruptible) and what did he do? Apply lots of confusion which did nothing to stop me regrouping with my guild mates.
Sure I wouldn’t be able to kill him, but who cares? Killing some useless thief does nothing for my server. Same as killing some useless warrior or engi with these runes. Learn how confusion works and you will rarely get taken out by it.
Stop posting issues about runes classes and skills in the wvw forums. There are much more scary issues with wvw than this stuff. The wvw devs can’t even do anything g to change your issues anyway so put them somewhere where a dev can look at them.

Being on a Very High Server with Large PvE population and low WvW population we are dependent on militia turnout. No one wants to play when you have opponents outnumber you 3to1 constantly on all borderlands.
If you think it’s bad for you what about the servers lower than SoS. Not going to be fun for anyone in gold league.
All this league system will surmount to will be which NA T1 can win the NA T1 match. Because that’s the only matchup where JQ BG and SoR stand to lose. All other matches they take part in will be a complete white wash.

Still, it’s cute watching his opinion from outside of this matchup manifest, it’s almost like he thinks BP is the bigger server in this matchup. It’s all fine though, when eBay gets a matchup with sbi he can put his money where his mouth is. Buy coins with bauble bubbles. One daily rotation of world 1 + the bonus round is 175 lives right there.
I used over 220 lives getting my green lightsaber! Lol trib mode is nice with the info coin.
I agree however, after paying actual gems for an item it better not be taken away…
I like the new zones. Only thing I would say against them is that they are very long compared to the original zones which makes it a little harder to make progress if you cant dedicate a lot of time to it.
Regardless, I am working on my King toad weapons right now, one more token to go!
