I personally don’t see any issue with skill 1 and 2 needing a target.
Skill 2, whatever, but the 1 needing a target is a major hindrance in large wvw fights.
Iirc, it was changed to prevent exploiting astral force generation.
What is the issue you are having?
Of course, they have fixed AF generation since. The issue was with generating it from healing targets on full health.
Without that, we could shoot straight with a 1200 units long piercing beam. The current implementation forces one to pick a specific potentially moving target, and reduces the beam to the distance between ranger and foe. Shorter beam, less directional control. Bit like if we were not allowed to shoot LB/SB without a target.
It also prevents you from firing at a presumed stealthed foe’s position.

I just don’t see the point of creating Guild Arenas in their current form. There’s a reason for the strict separation of PvE and PvP. The idea that people wanted PvP in PvE gear is genuinely new to me.
My guild doesn’t sPvP, but does WvW. The guild arena is a great addition as it allows us to fight each other in the same gear/stats/skills as we would out in the Borderlands (with ranger’s pet HP being the main exception). It’s pretty cool, and it’s something we didn’t have before, as in WvW we’re on the same team, and both hotjoin servers and custom arenas are locked to PvP gear/stats/skills.

I’m interested in hearing how this goes for you. AFAIK, Anet can’t delete skins from the wardrobe. That’s why we all got to keep the Flamekissed set after they changed it and refunded our gems. Are they allowing people to keep their first backpack choice and select a second?
Well, it just got processed. My request didn’t go anywhere sadly, as indeed they can’t re-lock skins from wardrobe, so no swapping possible. And with it being a free gift and my own fault for not paying attention, it’d be cheeky to ask for an additional unlock.
I’ll make do with the butterfly flower and forget the cool Norn mountain survival kit. I guess we’ll get another pick next year.

back when it was introduced it made sense to balance the new celestial stat.
No it did not. Just like Viper and all the newer stats. Stats should be balanced in terms of numbers and gameplay, not through being artificially longer or more difficult to get.
Ideally, all stats sets should be equal in costs, time and effort required to acquire. Otherwise you’re simply artificially hurting some class/build combinations that would be a better fit for the more expensive/slow stats combinations.
And i’m saying this with full celestial gear and tons of unused charged quartz crystals in bank. That gate shouldn’t have been there in the first place and it’d be a good idea to remove it for newer players.
The thing sleeping in Drakkar Lake is Drakkar (duh right?) a champion of Jormag, not Jormag itself. Jormag had been sleeping to the north of the GW1/GW2 map, though he is pushing south.
Makes sense, it was a bit on the small side to be Jormag.
You can see bits of what might be Kralkatorrik in a GW1 map in the Blood Legion Homelands. It’s a huge spiked hill ridge likely to be the spine of the dragon:

I’d happily buy gems for a “HoM repair/refurbish contract” that’d fix the place a bit and add all those services to the main room, while keeping the tapestry room as a sanctuary. Actually, maybe the scrying pool could act as the Mystic Forge. The current locations don’t have the same emotional connection.
Ah, i remember that one. Couldn’t find it on my 100% completion main for ages. Read about the renown heart thing, switched to an alt that didn’t have it completed, and got the item in 30s…
The GS is great for disengaging! Untarget, 3 to get away, dodge, 4 to block the projectiles/pulls, dodge, and 3 should be close to available again for more distance.

GW1 had a stats buff in pvp when you didn’t have an Elite skill equipped. Maybe GW2 could try and have a pvp stats buff for builds that don’t use an Elite spec? Either a flat celestial buff or a % bonus on the equipped amulet.
You know what I’d buy from the store? A permanent hair styling contract and infinite transmutation charges. But for some reason, a cosmetic-based game doesn’t sell them.

This would only benefit WvW and Pve though, how bout PvP pets? They will be still subpar.

Guild alliances are the main driver for WvW success. Why not scrap the concept of servers.
Because glory-seeking server-hopping guilds are causing the population balance problem in the first place. Making it easier for them to stack on the same side is the last thing we should be aiming for.
In addition to the ones mentioned here, you may want to give a try at the Drakes too. They’re tough, cleave on auto attack, have a big burst on tail swipe which is also a blast finisher, and the river drake’s F2 is very good (big bouncing channeled damage, so will keep hitting foes even if they go in stealth).
The 500 gold hedge as seen on the picture here. Never enjoyed anything so much in my life. Was worth all the effort. Tiny, but green at least.
Now you can make 25 of them for the same price.

That’s why you craft the mystic clovers before buying the T6 mats for the respective Gifts. It feels annoying not to get those clovers, but you end up getting them, and the road to those stacks of T6 mats has been significantly shortened.
I can buy myself twice more t6 mats from TP for that money.

Note: WvW I am not very familiar with. I would lump it in with PvP in terms of what skills it would get, since the same balance issues apply.
Not really no. Take the pet leash range nerf as a case in point. That was due to sPvP points being close to each other, and it killed a lot of the beastmaster fun in roaming.
If anything, WvW should be going back to the original vision: a glorious massive chaos where you get to play with all your imbalanced skills against plenty of other players.

Cut out a square of sticky tape, stick it over the skill icon and write “NOPE” on it. There you go, S&R range indicator. \o/
All maps queued last night on Piken. Guess it shows that for all the complaints about balance, population, night cap, desert BL, etc, at the end of the day, it was all about loot…
