No it is not after the trait rework. It’s before as the old trait system was still in place. Before the first powercreep of 23rd june and HoT itself.
The game felt much different than it does now and most people prefer the old days. Myself included.

would not run cele on warrior, it’s not worth. still other professions would use it.

The Mace/Sh & GS build would be much stronger with Cele due to the insane condi application and sustain from healing power stat

healing power is not needed for AH. nor are defensive stats. the whole point of the GS build is to pump out a ton of damage, using cele defeats the point.

if you want hybrid damage viper or sinister would be the way to go.

i play glass cannon on both warrior and guardian.

it’s doable on engi too, you can definitely make marauders hammer work. however scrapper is a bruiser spec, and that’s what engineer excels at right now. we have excellent res, and very strong sustain (bonkers on menders amulet) and solid damage. so bruiser will be better, but marauders is doable too, but not with things like nades.

without explosives nades arnt that great, and that’s just not a trait-line we have room for anymore. it’s a very boring time to be an engineer in pvp, hence why im playing Gunflame 90% of the time.

no one really cares why you DC from matches all the time, the system will penalise you all the same. as regardless of your intent the result is the same, you have made a 4v5 & ruined the match. anet isn’t going to block dishonour on your account, because the dishonour you are accruing is for legitimate disconnects. sure you’re not doing it on purpose, but the effect is identical.

also, to be honest since you know that you are going to DC it would be pretty easy to make the argument that it is on a level, intentional. as you know that you are going to DC, yet you continue to queue..

This isn’t true. How are bleeding or burning utility? Why did condition damage stat sets, sigils, and runes exist at launch? Why do many weapons do nearly no power damage and a lot of condi damage?

Some conditions have utility, always have and always will, like blind or chill. But condition damage builds have always been a thing.

Probably because those weapons were meant as utility (e.g. sb has been pure utility with extremely poor damage for 4.5 years now).

tbh, i don’t think there is ever going to be a reason not to take smash brawler

a lot of players come from games where pure dot builds are not viable, & consequently think gw2 should be the same. however seeing as gw2 has been designed for power, condi or hybrid builds there will always be viable condi builds.

i would argue power is both easier & more powerful for pvp, with the exception of mesmer. power warrior & engineer are certainly more powerful than their condi counterparts.

the cabal of players who claim condi is skilless are just trying to boost their own egos. in reality nearly all defences against power work against condi (exemptions being bulwark, endure pain etc), plus you have condi cleanses too. so in reality you have more out play potential vs condi, which is why i find the QQ so amusing because all these players are saying is “i don’t stop condi application, & i cant manage my cooldowns, i’m just bad”.

the stat requirement argument is weak too. condi builds want condi damage & expertise, & many need precision also. many power builds (engi druid etc) just need power & precision, only the high damage power builds need ferocity. furthermore, condi builds often have to trait more offensively, & bring more offensive runes & sigils.

lastly, on the topic of passive procs, a critical hit is a passive proc based on rng. a fight can be won or lost depending on what abilities crit. power builds are all about being carried by rng.

When we had Solo Queue and Team Queue (1-5 player groups), solo queue had horrible queue times, subpar matches (from low population) and was driven by “solo queue hero” mentality. Everyone who wanted to play a team game queue into team queue, regardless of group size. So ANet just ditched solo queue.

In S1-S4 people whined about constantly being stomped by premades (which wasn’t true in the least), so ANet caved and the whiners decided on solo queue. Now we have a bunch of solo queue heroes and the PvP population is dying.

This is why design-by-poll is bad.

You compare a 4sec cooldown weapon utility to a complete class mechanic skill.

its basically the same if i say this:
gunflame does 9k dmg but guardian does 6k dmg + unblockable pull + leap and heal + 4sec block.

Ok warrior has 1.5k/sec regen, 2x no dmg traited, 9k axe f1, 9k GS f1, block on shield, 25% passive movement trait, 5sec swap on weapons, full bers gear with 250% crit dmg, 18k base HP + shall I continue?

It’s so true, when you look at what the warrior has compared to the hoops Guardian has to jump through to survive, it is pretty funny.

on the topic at hand, in regard to pvp & to a lesser extent wvw, no longbow doesn’t need buffs. it’s got good damage (auto is much better than warrior rifle etc) & utility. if any buff were to be given, reducing cast times for 2 & 5 would be the way to go.

If it is only 1/4 pretty much any stealth with restealth you. Since AFAIK the lowest duration stealth is 3s.

Seems to be two very different ideas on how it works which is why I think we would all like clarity from Evan.

You forgot the part where Revealed removes all stealth from the affected player.

no lol. it’s just stealth gyro that will re-stealth you. it gives 4s stealth every 3s, so a 1/4 sec reveal is not long enough to prevent the gyro from putting you back in stealth.

what are the sigil options available to a traditional Static Discharge Engineer running no kits? I know this is not a viable meta build, but it is a build that was recently buffed and would be absolutely useless in this new paradigm with regards to sigil options.

if you are running this man, sigils are the least of your problems.
i always run on swap or gen sigils on engi, egun is a must in nearly every build so you always have a swap. the cleanse on swap sigil is pretty exciting for eni.

i honestly couldn’t care less. i haven’t taken a toon out of HotM in 2017.

Why are there only 3 on hit sigils? As a thief main I don’t understand why we get three options all three of which I would never take. Our only on hit options simply do not compete with the multitude of on swap sigils. If you’ve ever watched a single one of the tournaments you hosted that had a thief in it you’ll notice he stays in DP or staff for the entire duration of the fight. So what, we get to have 3 stacks of might and 3 stacks of vuln in a prolonged skirmish? No thanks, guess we have to run some on swap sigils that we will only get use out of once every fight if we are lucky.

great point. a number of builds don’t encourage weapon swapping. thief fights with one weapon set, & so do some other builds. like, if i play GS on DH i only really use it for mobility or cleave, id be in bow 90% of the time. as a consequence of that i run air & generosity on the bow, but those are going to be deleted.

seems like a buff to swap heavy builds & a nerf to the rest.

i’ll miss sigil of generosity for sure, but otherwise yeah they look pretty good.

i agree that it’s a DPS loss when it doesn’t crit, but its an increase when it does. with fury from medis, & perhaps even pack runes you should crit a lot. so sure it hits like an auto criting if it doesn’t crit, but that’s assuming true shot doesn’t crit & the auto does, which is too convenient of an assumption.

i feel like the average damage is balanced by the short cooldown, it hits for about what hammer 2 does, so seems fair. it’s a good skill.

Those defenses don’t work vs condi after you’ve been tagged. With power, you get hit, you react, you don’t die. With condi, you get hit, you react, but you have to have a cleanse or resistance. If you don’t, you’re dead.

all of the viable power builds can pump out over 10k damage easily. so, if you wait to get hit then react you will be dead or close to death. idk why you don’t think this is important enough to mention in your ‘comparison’.

it’s not like you can condi clear a 10k vault, so in a way power is much less forgiving to fight. no idea why people have this attitude that condi shouldn’t do comparable damage to power. it’s all damage, it’s all attacks you should have dodged.

like, sure i guess some condi builds are kinda BS, but honestly most builds power or condi are BS right now. compare our meta to pre specialisations, everything is OP by old standards.

War damage is too high. The defense is fine.

full offensive stat amulet with offensive runes will result in high damage. try any class w zerker & pack & you will see it hits like a truck with an optimised build.

would only accept this is AH could stack, so three consecutive bursts would result in 3 stacks. otherwise its just a 2/3 nerf to AH. regular bursts are hardly used, & often dont even work like primal bursts do (eg mace is condi on primal, and just cc normally). furthermore you do actually need a full adrenaline bar to enter zerker, so the first primal burst is actually 3 bars.

regardless, im hesitant to take balance requests from somone who thinks a class with zero team utility stacks well.

as an aside, arc divider doesn’t give fury (arcing slice does) & only does more damage when the enemy is under 50% HP, & its only like +200dmg with Destroyer amulet, plus the casting speed is the same so the real benefit is the range increase from 150 to 450. tbh is not really a better skill apart form the range, i mean its fury vs 200dmg. range should be nerfed to 300 anyhow.

can’t say what rank i am, last season i played sporadically so i was always climbing out of bronze lol. i’m pretty dang confident i can hack it in any division, i fight well on all three of the classes i play.

tbh, that engi build would be better with a hammer. more damage, more defense & bigger heals.
