So, last night I bought a sentry turret while my ‘color’ held the observatory. Shortly after, I dc’d from EOTM and kept getting the “Servers unavailable” message, so went to bed since it was that time anyhow.
This morning, I logged back into EOTM and went to deploy my sentry turret. I got the icon in the place of my 1 skill like deploying siege, but when I tried to place it, I was told by the game that I couldn’t because my side didn’t control the observatory.
However, I ALSO couldn’t return it to my inventory in anyway. Now, I’m out my sentry turret, and will have to get another one.
I understand the design decision between having to control an area to purchase and use it’s item – but would appreciate being able to either put said item away or not be able to ‘activate’ it at all if the conditions aren’t met.
Over time my play style has changed, and I have wished many times that there was a way I could give a different toon on my account a soul bound item.
Would you consider selling a Gem Store item that when used, would change a Soulbound item to an Accountbound item that becomes Soulbound on use? That would allow me to move items between toons (albeit at a cost).
Thanks for consideration.
Well, I have a friend who is currently at over 45 precursors from the forge. Keep in mind that he’s done TONS of forging, puts everything (exos and rares) he gets into the forge, but still?
I forge all my gold weapons, since day one, and have gotten 2 pres. So, who knows?
Noobix, so you’ve had the bone wall come up during the 2nd battery/stun, not just the 3rd?
I assume you are referring to the DDoS/PhantomLord incident?
On SBI, we have noticed that Tequatl seems to be counting up his Hardened Scales buffs when he shouldn’t be. To the best of my knowledge, here is what is required to have this occur.
Teq’s health drops to 75% and the 1st Battery Defense event starts. At end, Teq lands and we have the 1st ‘stun’ phase where we damage him enough to drop him to 50% and he immediately begins the 2nd Battery Defense event. At the end of 2nd Battery Defense event, Teq lands and we have the 2nd ‘stun’ phase where we damage him enough to drop him to 25% and he immediately begins the 3rd Battery Defense event. HOWEVER before he flies off, he ticks a “Hardened Scale” and while flying around during that 3rd Battery Defense event, he accumulates it up to 20. As a result, at the end of the 3rd Battery Defense event, Teq lands and instead of the 3rd ‘stun’ phase starting like normal, a Bone Wall appears. We have to break the Bone Wall to be able to damage him during that 3rd ‘stun’ phase.
We have NOT seen the ‘Hardened Scale’ buff start when we chain him from 75% to 50%, (ie we don’t get a bone wall when he lands after the 2nd Battery Defense event) nor have we seen it when we fail to chain him from 75% to 50% but do chain him from 50% to 25%. So, it seems that we need to chain him BOTH times (from 75% to 50% AND from 50% to 25%) in order to have him start counting up his Hardened Scales at the start of the 3rd Battery Defense event and cause a Bone Wall at the beginning of the 3rd ‘stun’ phase.
Hopefully some others can elaborate further on this (or correct me if I’m wrong in my recounting of the bug at all).
I don’t believe this is a bug – the A-bombs are a spawn that are part of the event, but random, like the Champ Grubs.
On SBI, we plan for this and have a dedicated team of 5 people whose job it is during the fight to patrol the MegaLazer area and clear any spawns, including A-Bombs and Bloated Creepers. Since we began this, we have a pretty much 100% success rate.
Sorry to hear you had problems!
Amazon Basin [AB] ran missions today and didn’t encounter any on Stormbluff Isle server. We had:
Guild Bounty in Diessa Plateua (Short Fuse Felix) and Timberline (2-Mult).
From Timberline, I activated our Guild Rush, which took us to:
Guild Rush in Harathi Hinterlands (Ghost Wolf Howl)
From Harathi, I activated Challenge, which took us to:
Guild Challenge in Southsun (Southsun Crab Toss)
From Southsun I activated Puzzle, which took us to:
Guild Puzzle in Snowden Drifts (Angvar’s Trove)
I won’t say I am 100% thrilled with every decision ANet has made for the game, but I will say how glad I am to see people posting something other than rants on the forums.
I hold the belief that people who love and enjoy the game are to busy playing it to waste time complaining on the forums.
Perhaps we should take some time to let ANet know that there are people who really enjoy the game, since if you go by the forums, that would be hard to tell, sometimes.
Thanks to all who came out! We got several players the Labyrinthine Horror and the Viscount, and several small groups were successful in taking down the lich. Was great to see so many people come together to help others out.
SBI is going to be doing one last zerg run through the Labyrinth, as it’s believed this content will be going away with the patch tomorrow.
If you know anyone who still needs achievements in the Labyrinth, pls let them know that we will be forming up on SBI tonight (Nov 11) at around 6:00 pm server time. You can contact me ingame for more info if needed.
We’re hoping to get enough folks to finish all the champs for those that need them, and we look forward to seeing you there!
Currently the In Game clock has 3 options – Off, Local Time, and Server time.
Server time is a great tool to let people figure out common times for events. For example, our guild does Guild Missions at Noon Server time every Sunday. We picked server time because regardless of where our players are based, they had a setting in game that they could use to help them calculate the difference in time so as to make the event.
However, since ANet uses UTC for a ‘calendar’ day for things like Dailies, it seems odd that the game doesn’t have an in game option for UTC on the clock.
I would love to see either a 4th option (UTC) added, or change Server time to UTC. That way, no matter when a player’s geographical area implements DST (if they even do), there are no questions about ‘when’ things are happening in game. It would be one set standard.
Here in NA, most of us (including ANet) went off DST last night and so ‘Daily Reset’ changed from 5 pm server time to 4 pm server time. But for someone who lives somewhere that does not use DST or does it at a different time, it is possible that they may not know of the change in game. THEIR relation to UTC is unchanged but if they use Server time as their benchmark, the ‘relative’ time does change.
I too, have the “Dawn of the Season” achievement still locked, but am at least able to get credit for the other achievements. Hopefully this will get fixed but I appreciate the workaround in the meantime.
I see there is a thread for this in Game Bugs. Should have checked there first, my apologies.
I couldn’t get into WvW last night due to the queues (and the fact that I work disgustingly early in the morning) but when I logged in this afternoon, I noticed that my WvW Dawn of the Season achievement was not “Completed” although all the other achievements had unlocked. I have since completed 6/15 achievements but that one remains….well….unachieved.
I am under the impression that you really just need to log into WvW to get this one. Any hints/thoughts/suggestions?
Just played a match on the Skyhammer map, and several times, when I tried to use the portal into the Skyhammer control room, it wouldn’t respond. Sometimes backing up and approaching again would work, but sometimes it wouldn’t.
Not only was it very aggravating to not have it work correctly, (ie I had to re-attempt) it meant a lot of people were sitting waiting for people to head to the door to snipe them. In addition, it gives the person(s) inside a measure of invulnerability.
Hopefully you can check this out and resolve the issue. Much thanks in advance for your attention.
We were fighting Teq on SBI at 5:57 pm and the 50% battery defend event started. The Megalazer went from 100% to barely 5% instantly. As a result, we naturally failed the battery defense, and thus our attempt.
As best as we can tell, 3 veterans (at least) spawned right at the megalazer, and detonated before anyone could even get there.
This is the second time we’ve seen this on SBI, however last time there were duplicate UIs and Teq glitched and went underwater and the overall event timer never restarted. This was not the case this time.
Here is the screenie I was able to grab. Hopefully people got others.
Ditto! I have the same problem.
@empire.2531
I stand behind every word I said.
The entire point of my post is that what is obvious to one person is not obvious to everyone, and that different people have different perspectives. I don’t expect you to see things from my way, and you are entitled to your opinion, just as I am. I have as much right to express my opinion on this forum as anyone else does. I know him, and I know that he is NOT a troll. He doesn’t harass people. And I wanted to let other people know that as well.
I’m disappointed to see how vicious some people are being.
For starters, having watched all of the video, I feel it’s clear that when he arrived, it could have looked like there was kill swapping going on. Even the people who were there have stated that at times it was very one sided fighting.
As an ArenaNet employee, it’s really his obligation to investigate this. Did he perhaps make the wrong assumption about what was happening? Maybe. But you know what, he’s human, just like the rest of us. And human beings make mistakes.
Many people have said that they think it’s impossible he didn’t know what people were doing there and so obviously came to troll them. This is a very self-centered point of view. Not everyone WvW’s on a regular basis. Even among those that do, not everyone uses the WvW maps to GvG. Regardless, even if that IS the area that GvG goes on at, if there is something going on there that breaks the TOS, then ANet will check it out.
The barrage of foulmouthed vitriol that got unleashed on him was undeserved no matter what someone does. What is wrong with people that they think it’s acceptable to talk to anyone that way? I’ve seen it time and time again in Queensdale when people who are farming champions absolutely lose their minds that someone has DARED to kill a champion when NOT on the train. Do they consider that not everyone wants to play that way? That some people enjoy a challenge, or even – and be sitting down for this one – might just be new to the game and are just doing events as they come across them? Sadly, all to often the answer is no. Because far too often, people never consider other points of view than their own.
The next assumption made by many is that he turned on his tag to show off or intimidate. He didn’t do this until people started swearing at him (an action completely against the TOS). Had anyone been getting that kind of verbal abuse, I would expect an ANet staffer in the area to step in to try to defuse the situation and calm things down. Something, I might add, that I have personally witnessed this ANet staffer do on multiple occasions. Even his comment about why he was there has been twisted to mean that he was implying ANet doesn’t support GvG. Yes, he referred to it as “my game”. That’s because like most of the ANet staff I know, he’s very committed to it and passionate about it. I work for an airline, and I talk about “my planes” all the time. It’s just a phrase. Unfortunately in this case, all of his actions were interpreted by a group that seems very hostile to ANet, and represented in the worst possible light in this thread.
The whole thing I think has been blown ridiculously out of proportion. It’s pretty obvious that the topic of GvGing on the WvW maps is a hot topic for many, with people passionate about the issue on both sides. It’s pretty clear to me that he became a target for a lot of people’s frustrations about the issue.
He made a mistake in thinking that what was happening was breaking the TOS. He used a phrase that people took wrong. And people assumed he used his tag to dominate them when he was just trying to stop people from being jerks.
I know he is upset about how people are interpreting his actions because they are SO WRONG about his motives. He loves the game. He loves WvW. He loves his home server. He hates to see it getting abused. He hates to see people’s fun being ruined by other people’s bad behaviour. But he is one of the most kind hearted, open minded individuals it has EVER been my privilege to get to know. So to have people see him in that light is, I’m sure, very upsetting to him. To have the situation become so negative would be equally very upsetting to him.
I would ask that everyone who knows him (and many of us on the server do and play regularly with him) to be just as vocal in your support of him as the people who seem to be screaming for his head are.
No one is perfect. He certainly doesn’t claim to be perfect. But he has worked very hard to make the game what it is today, and has always been a fantastic representative for ANet.
For those who have made judgements on his actions, please consider, even if for just a few moments, the different view point I have made above. And in the end, please remember that to err is human, and to forgive is divine.
(Edit – I want to make it clear, I’m not speaking FOR him. I have barely talked to him since this happened, and all my comments are based on my observations of him over the time I’ve known him.)

LOL @ Charming Rogue! We’ve beaten him 7 times so far on SBI and this was the first time we saw this glitch. But yeah, it’s always a bit of a let down to have something cheese out on you, no matter how unintentional.
Fighting Teq on SBI, the 50% Battery Defend Event started, and Teq moved to the middle area as normal. however the UI showed 2 instances of the Defend the Mega Lazer event, followed by a third instance of the event failing immediately after starting. This froze the main timer. However, players were able to DPS Teq in the ground, and bring him to 25%. This started the 25% Battery Defend Event, which proceeded as normal. Teq landed again, but once again was in the ground and the timer for the main event still did not start. Players were then able to once again DPS Teq at their leisure. They got full rewards, including the end chest.
This was the 2nd time we defeated Teq today, not sure if this glitch related at all to our previous win. Doubtful, as we beat him twice yesterday as well without it glitching.
Thank you for bringing a real epic fight to the game! I can see the huge potential of how people will have to work cooperatively and strategize to win this battle, as opposed to just deal damage.
We didn’t win on SBI’s first try, and sadly, there are some that are already complaining it’s unbeatable (which is pretty funny when they’ve tried it all of one time) but I am sure we will get there, we just need to learn to work TOGETHER!
Thank you for all the hard work that obviously went into this!
Amazon Basin (on SBI) has been doing Guild Missions from the get go, but we decided to set ourselves the challenge of the GRAND SLAM of Guild Missions by doing all 5 Mission Types at the Highest Tier in one afternoon.
I’m happy to say that we were successful! We had a close call a few times with Bounty, but in the end, it all worked out.
Want to say thanks to those on SBI maps that helped in small ways – like the guys who were in Southsun who held off on doing the Karka Queen to prevent an overflow situation, and the folks on random maps who helped us find bosses! Not to mention friends of our guild who came to help us at the end. We surely do appreciate it!!
Currently, when you complete an achievement within a category, it changes in appearance. For example, Ambient Killer in Daily goes from the default unhighlighted brown to the highlighted purple.
I personally would LOVE it if the category/subcategory window, like Daily under Daily and Monthly tab, also highlighted when all items within it were done.
I’m an achievement points chaser, and I find I’m constantly opening each category and subcategory (particularly under General) to see which Achievements still need doing.
This change would give me an indicator without having to open up each and every category and subcategory of which Achievements I still have to progress on.
Pls?

Just an FYI……
I can’t say I agree with you DeWolfe, but I respect your right to your opinion. The free kites were a thank you to those who bought gems in a certain time period. If they had said “IF you buy gems now, you’ll get THIS later” would it have convinced you to buy gems? It’s not true that there’s a limitation – you will be able to buy the kite later (just as you could buy the minis.
As for the starcake recipe, that was to fix a bug, in that people who bought the Rich Dragon Coffers SHOULD have had a chance to get one and didn’t. Similarly, people got a BLSK when they identified a bug. So they are two separate things.
I love the Kite as well, but most of all, I love that you guys appreciate the way your players support the game, and surprise us like this!
Cheers!
In our experience, our guild members who guest onto our Guild’s “Main” server do not see the Guild Mission info. This does not interfere with them participating and getting credit. The lone exception is Guild Trek – they can’t participate because they can’t see or ‘interact’ with the Trek locations, but there are no personal rewards for that one, just guild.
I’m going to start this post out by saying that I love GW2, and I enjoy pretty much every minute I spend in the game. There are parts that don’t appeal to me personally as a player, but that friends of mine really enjoy (like Keg Brawl, for example) and so I’m happy they’re in the game, for their sake if not mine. But I do feel that there is something lacking for me, and quite simply, that’s a home. As it stands now, I’m just a homeless vagabond…
In GW1, I viewed the Guild Hall as my home, pretty much. I could go there from anywhere in the game, and hang out. It was more like a dorm than my personal home, of course, because my guildies could also hang out there, but it was my ‘refuge’ if you will. I could access all the same vendors that I could in a city, but without the distraction of local chat. Having access to the Guild Hall didn’t mean I never went into the cities, because I did. It was just another choice for me in the game, one I used as the circumstances fit.
When I heard that there would be ‘home instances’ in GW2, I got super excited, envisioning a real ‘home’ for my character within the game. When information came out about personal story and how the choices I as a player made affected the game, I expected that these choices would be reflected in my home. I expected that, as in that boring ‘Real Life’ thing, there would be costs associated with ‘personalizing’ my home, but that those options would exist. Sadly, it’s not the case, and I wish so much it was different. I can honestly say that except for when required by my personal story, I never visit my home instance, because there’s nothing there for me that I can’t get elsewhere, and there’s no benefit to it over any other place that’s a lot easier to get to, like LA.
So here’s my plea – please consider implementing a personal ‘home’ within our ‘home instances’. Have them reflect our choices in character creation and personal story. Let them come with the ‘basic’ items that fit my toon, and let me pay to upgrade as I can afford, with whatever currency (gold, gems, karma, laurels, etc) that you see fit.
Take my main, a human Ranger. She was raised among the nobility, so her starter home could have been a fairly stately manor. (Had she been from the common folk, perhaps it would have been a more normal house, and from the streets, a flat.) The other choices I made in character creation (my stalker, not searching for my true parents, dignity, and Melandru) could all be reflected in my ‘home’ from the start. Perhaps a small shrine to Melandru on a table? A picture of me and my stalker on the wall? A pile of documents on a desk that talk about my efforts so far to find my parents? Things like that.
Then, as I progress through the story, these items could change. When I find out the truth about my parents, instead of the documents, I have a memorial for them in my home. Once I choose an order, a wall hanging with the appropriate symbol would appear. Maybe a picture of my Order rep would appear on the desk after Claw Island? There are so many ways to make it “my” home, based on the choices of my personal story, right up until the end of my story and the fight with Zhaitan in the Arah story dungeon.
Aside from décor related to personal story, you could have furnishings, wall colors, textiles, all sorts of options for people to choose from. Let them choose colors based upon the dyes that a toon has unlocked, and they have even more reasons to get more dyes on more characters.
Right now, toons can get from anywhere in the world to Lion’s Arch for free, either by going through Heart of the Mists and then into the LA portal, or to WvW and again, into the LA portal. I would love to see an option to go to my ‘home’ for free (one way) as well. From my home I can then leave the instance and be in my home ‘city’, which isn’t that much different from what we have right now.
The end result of all of this would be a home for my characters, a reason for them to go to the home instance, and tangible evidence of my status as a hero in the world of Tyria.
I know that others may feel that the time that would be necessary to develop this could be better spent in other areas, but I really would love to see my personal story have meaning even after I’ve completed it, and I think a ‘home’ could bridge that gap.
Good point, thanks, we are playing on Stormbluff Isle.
Last Sunday my guild was doing Guild Missions and we encountered a severe amount of lag and a large number of disconnects during the Bounty in Brisban fighting Diplomat Tarban.
Today, I was in the area leveling an alt and again experienced quite a bit of lag. Changed to a different toon, in Metrica I had no lag, but as soon as I entered Brisban, got lots of lag again.
I did ask if anyone was doing the Tarban bounty when I got the lag, and no one appeared to be.
I realize it could be just a coincidence, but fully half of our guild (about 20 people in the zone) dc’d during the Tarban fight on Sunday so thought I would mention it when I again saw unusual lag in the zone.
Our Guild often finishes the Rush in 10-15 mins, then we wait around for another 15-20 mins to get the dynamic event credit.
It would be really awesome if the folks with “Mission Control” who can start a Guild Mission could have the option to say “We’re done, please end the Guild Rush” once we’ve gotten our 15 people through.
To be honest all of the living stories were boring and the super adventure game box was just a silly experimentation. Can we please do some more work on the boring skills system?
I am sorry you didn’t enjoy them, but please keep in mind that your opinion is just that, yours. I personally have VASTLY enjoyed the content that has been added to the game since release, both one time and ongoing. Judging by the number of people that I see doing the content while I’m doing it, I’m not alone in that feeling.
Our guild, The Amazon Basin [AB] on SBI has been running Guild Missions since they were released.
We’re really enjoying them, so thanks for the addition of some great Guild-oriented content that gets us playing together and earns us both Guild and Personal rewards…Kudos!
We have noticed a few ‘oddities’ here and there that I thought I’d compile. I did browse for a bit through the forums and didn’t see them mentioned, but if there are duplicate threads about these, my apologies. I’m putting these down as ‘bugs’ because they don’t behave the way I expect, but it’s possible they are meant to work this way and it’s my understanding of Guild Missions that is ‘buggy’.
The first bug we have seen is that any of our members who are NOT based on SBI cannot see the Guild Mission information. They are able to guest to SBI and participate and earn credit, but the information doesn’t show up for them as to who our bounty targets are, which trek locations we are after, or what Rush or Challenge Missions we have active. Their “Active Mission” window in the Guild Interface remains completely blank. My impression is that, since they are able to earn the personal rewards as a member of the guild for participating (i.e. the 50s, the 2 rare or better items, and the Guild Commendations), Guild Missions are indeed intended to benefit all members of the Guild regardless of what server their account is based on. So it seems odd that they won’t see the information.
Second, those who are based on servers other than SBI but guesting over to participate in Guild Missions with the guild cannot participate at all in Guild Trek. Even if we tell them a location, when they arrive at the location, the glowing circle isn’t visible to them to interact with.
The third and final issue we’ve seen is related to the permissions for Guild Missions, called ‘Mission Control’ in the Ranks tab under Permissions. Only our Leadership Team has this ability checked. We’ve tested it, and from the point of view of ‘activating’ Guild Missions (i.e. clicking on the “Activate” button for a particular mission from the Current Upgrades / Consumables list) it works properly.
However, the second part, “Interact with items in the world to kick off Guild Challenges” doesn’t seem to be working properly. Members of our Guild who do NOT have the ‘Mission Control’ permission are able to “Interact” with the banners for Guild Rush and Guild Challenge and begin the event, sometimes very prematurely. For example, we will plan to run Guild Rush at 5 PM server time. I may “Activate” the Rush at 3 pm to give folks time to make their way to the location if they haven’t mapped it yet. By the definition of the permissions, no one should be able to start the Rush until a member of the rank with “Mission Control” permission touches it. However, that’s not the case, so we’ve had to stop “activating” it in advance as a result.
Thanks for checking into this, whenever you get the chance. They aren’t MAJOR issues, since we’ve been able to work around them, but better you know and be advised.
As a big fan of the emote system, I’m happy that they continued in GW2, but I sure do wish we had more. GW1 offered almost 3x the emotes that GW2 does, and since I’m hopeful we’ll see more in the future, I thought I’d put in some of my ‘most hoped for’ emotes….
/patselfonback – for when you’ve just done something really awesome
/beg – to be used just before opening a big chest
/pout – to be used immediately after opening a big chest and not getting anything great
/console – aimed at another toon, to make them feel better, when THEY’VE just opened a big chest and didn’t get anything good.
My sympathies on your Bounty attempts, I’m sure it’s very frustrating. We’ve not had Sottz since the update, but our plan is this, based on what we’ve heard from others – and maybe this will help other guilds too…..
Anyone who finds Sottz is told to immediately activate him. Since we have most of our Guild on Vent chat, they can tell us the nearest waypoint and someone else can ping it in guild/map chat for the rest while the first kites with Sottz.
Even if the person who activates Sottz dies, once Sottz is activated, my understanding is that he stays activated. Your ‘dead’ guildie can then ping waypoints and provide directions if the rest of the calvary hasn’t yet arrived.
I know it eats into your time, but we’re talking less than a minute, really, ad that’s pretty much as long as you have if you DON’T activate him, but this way you won’t lose him again.
If someone else has tried this strategy and it doesn’t work, please let me know?
Our guild has done it both ways, in terms of tracking them in advance and not doing so. There have been times we’re not found a target in over an hour of looking.
However, the guild events, even the Training one, are meant for large groups. It’s possible for a group of 10 or more people to find MOST targets and defeat them in <15 mins. I think your chances would be VERY reduced under 10 people.
Good luck, but I’m pretty sure you could find a better use of your building time and 300 influence.
Guild Commendations are the personal rewards a member of your guild gets for ‘subduing’ a target during a bounty. Along with the 2 Guild Commendations, you earn 50 silver and 2 items of at least RARE value.
Note that the bounty itself doesn’t have to be a success for individual rewards to be earned. So if you do a T1 bounty and only get 1 of the targets, you will still earn the personal rewards for being in on subduing the target.
Each account can earn a maximum of 2 Guild Commendations per week, regardless of how many bounties they participate it. It doesn’t matter how many guilds either – it’s 2 per week max per account.
You must be repping the guild that runs the bounty and be in on subduing a target to earn the personal rewards.
So, to clarify….with the new patch, they introduced the ability to earn 10 laurels from completing EITHER PvE or PvP monthly goals. So, in April, whichever you complete first will earn you 10 laurels. If, after that, you complete the other, you WON’T get an additional 10 laurels.
However, anyone who HAD done the PvE monthly prior to the update can now go and do the PvP monthly and get 10 laurels from that, netting them 20 in total for the month of March.
This ONLY works if you’d done Monthly PvE and not Monthly PvP prior to the update. You aren’t supposed to get it for both, just the first you do, according to the patch notes.
So, that’s why it seems like it’s an exploit, and why I’m hopeful to get a clear answer from Anet on the issue.
I’d love another 10 laurels, but I won’t do it if they say it’s an exploit.
I would really appreciate a response from someone from Anet in particular.
I realize it’s a bug, and not meant to be occuring this way, but is it considered an exploit if someone who has already gotten 10 laurels from PvE monthly to now do the PvP Monthly?
A clear statement would help a lot of people decide if they should or should not do this.
Thanks in advance for your response.
It’s not clear if the post means they are reducing how OFTEN the attacks happen or if they’ve changed something within the event itself. One would certainly affect how frequently Maw spawns, while the other will affect what happens during the event.
However, we’ve not seen the event on SBI either, so it looks like the first is likely.
Our guild has run several successful Guild Treks at Tier 3 and not had any issues. The icons are inset into the ground, so can be hard to see, but we’ve always found them.
As for the locations that are ‘unknown’ on Dulfy, they were ALL unknowkittenome point, people went out and found them. The names of them and the pictures are pretty much all the clue you need.
For example, we got Risewild Hills before it was ‘found’ on Dulfy. Looking at the image made it clear it had ‘sylvari’ influences. We looked at the maps for Caledon, Brisbane, and Bloodtide, and sure enough, there was an area in Bloodtide called Risewild Hills. So our guildie went there, explored around, and found it.
Hope that helps.
While I had focused on my main (as she was doing most of the gathering for my Legendary), I had let my alts snooze. I did start to play them a bit more, but I had also neglected Fractals, so started doing that quite a lot after I got mine.
So no, I didn’t stop playing the game. I did spend more time on my alts than I had, but I still play my main way more than all my alts combined.
During the Caledon forest Meta event, “Defeat the great jungle wurm”, I have been finding it extremely difficult to target the boss on my ranger using short bow. This has resulted in several occasions with me not being able to get credit for the event. During a recent run through it, there were several people in local chat saying the same thing. I ultimately switched to greatsword and was just at the very end able to get in a couple of swings which ‘auto-targeted’ on it, and got bronze for the event.
I’m not sure if it’s related to his particular animation (e.g. his coming up out of the ground and going into the body spin) but I’ve not had this challenge with any other mob in the game that I can think of offhand (ie I can target wurms of various levels throughout the game with my shortbow).
There have been several threads talking about how quickly this boss goes down compared to other meta-event bosses in starter areas (like the Fire ele, Shadow Behemoth, etc) so it could be that the amount of time it takes to be able to acquire him as a target by clicking on him OR by autotargeting is a much larger percentage of the overall time the boss acutally ‘lives’. However, he’s obviously taking damage from SOMETHING, most likely random untargeted AOE.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not about not getting the loot at the end from the chest (although, I admit it’s disappointing). It’s just a bummer to be part of a chain like that and not be able to finish it off. And if there is something in this boss in particular, that’s affecting the ability to target him, there may be others in the game with similar issues.
The ‘reward’ is the achievement points. You get 2 for completing this title, similar to many other ‘titles’ like the various ‘Slayer’ and whatnot.
Admittedly, I’m sitting at level 15 FOTM and have done maybe 2 runs in the last few weeks (just been really busy), so I have no first hand opionion, but from what I’ve read here, it seems to me that with the new rates of drops from dragon chests, they are better in that they guarantee a rare but they are worse in that they guarantee you won’t get an Ascended item. Maw chest at least gives you the chance.
So, it’s like selling your rares or forging them. You can sell them for around 80 silver (the guarantee) or you can chance getting an exotic or even a precursor.
Just seems like RNG in a different format.
Sounds like you did everything right to me. You said she was already hostile when you got there. Were you online when the Mission got activated? Maybe you don’t get credit if you log in AFTER they’ve started the mission, even if you do enough to get the DE reward?
Bad luck, either way.
I just got 5 for completing queensdale earlier today, plus a bl key.
FINE stones? or just regular ones?
