I think they may have intended at one point to have another further exploration or something. In one of the middle layers there is another jumping puzzle that leads to the roof near a big fountain/waterfall structure.
I’ve gotten nothing but trash talking on my thief tonight. I’m not good, but I was decapping and rotating like I was supposed to. Yet the second they all wipe in mid they blame me. From then on it just escalated. And now every single match has been people complaining endlessly because I’m on a thief.
Honestly, I have a lot of respect for people that are good at thief, because it’s by far the hardest class to play. You either do everything perfectly or you get one shot. And there isn’t much you can do in this warrior/guard/necro focused season with absolute no balance.
And what exactly does all of the trash talking do anyway? Is it going to encourage you to try harder? It just makes me want to ruin the rest of the game out of spite.
It’s comical how rude people just because they have a computer screen as a cloak of anonymity.
My thoughts on this:
- Kormir was blessed by the the 5/6 gods before she went on to absorb a godly essence so, if Lazarus is weak and Abaddon is weaker (as Konig said) then they may not be able pull off the same feat that Kormir did.
About who Lazzy really is:
- I think it’s Modremoth. He’s able to implant his mind into things, if the timelines line up, he died during the ritual, he knew about the baby dragon from the very beginning. When the baby was attacked by green/molten dragon minions, he appeared. Knowing that we are the ones that finished him off, he intends to use us to take down the other Dragons so he can get more powerful and then turn his attention to us.
- Or it’s Glint. Because again, the Mursaat knew where the baby Dragon was, it knows the commander, and it has bigger plans than taking over Kryta.
- Or finally, it’s the Colossus from the fractal. As soon as we set him free he was transported into Lazzy’s body. 10/10 for story telling Anet!
On a serious note, I do get a similar vibe from the Cliffside fractal and the new raid wing. It almost looks like they could be from the same area of the world. With fractals being broken sort of reveries of past events and what not, it would be pretty awesome to find that same area in one of the future raid wings.
I kind of prefer the old set-up. Having the spots to shadowstep/port to did give it a more unique experience. I mean, I know they’re still there, but it just isn’t the same.
Seem to be the way to go this season. Everyone just roll ranger, root, pew pew, heal, repeat.
Seriously, is it a daily or something? Anyone else having at least 2 or 3 rangers in each match?
In woodenpotatoes latest video he discussed that. It’s a confessor you kill in one of the human personal stories.
Update: My mes in Noble’s Folly got in fine. So strange.
Anyone else getting a network error when trying to log in? First time on tonight and I keep getting it when trying to log into one of my ele’s parked in Lion’s Arch.
I did just server transfer yesterday so it could be some residual bug or something. Haven’t tried another character yet…
Well they can close it if they want. I went with CD after all. Kind of wishing I had gone with dragonbrand knowing some guildmates are on that side and I just saw them last night in the enemy zerg. lol It seems a little better so far. People definitely seem nicer and there isn’t as much Commander idolizing/clique behavior. Only been one day though so who knows.
Is there a way to see which servers are which tier?
I’ve tried looking it up and found a chart that has match-ups but nothing about what tier it is.
I wanted to try moving to a lower tier server for wvw and am currently on Isle of Janthir/Fort Aspenwood but find that not only do we seem to be outnumbered during most of the times that I play, but most of the fights seem to just be against large zergs.
Was kind of looking to get into a server that would allow a little bit more solo play or at the very least balanced low-group play.
I’ve been hearing the holodancer music from the atherblade fractal in various random places lately.
Not sure if there’s an existing thread on this or not, but I personally would love a Monkey King Combat tonic.
Exalted would be fun as well but might be a no-go due to animation issues.
Oh, and DEFINITELY a Largos combat tonic!
A new pass item somewhere in the mists. Perhaps one of the serene islands overlooking the observatory.
Sword shield or sword sword and great sword are fine. Sword shield is a bit better though due to two blocks, an evade, shield wave and two stuns. I’m marauder but seem to be surviving just fine.
Although I personally would love a new jungle-themed map like Tangled Depths, I would like to suggest something more reasonable to the majority of the playerbase.
Darker nights. How awesome would it be to have much darker maps with night and day cycles. Being able to strategically attack while it’s dark and they won’t as easily see you coming. (Nameplates aside.)
Not to mention how much cooler the trebs firing would be against a pitch black sky.
Something similar to the snowblind fractal, but perhaps not AS dark.
Broke out of the map and there’s nothing underneath the corn that I can see that would be triggering it. So it’s definitely at ground level.
Well, one of them does sound like a ghost screaming. But the other sounds like a destroyer. lol
I’m there now checking it out. Definitely creepy. It’s not really a human scream. It’s a bunch of different sounds.
It kind of sounds like it could be a destroyer or something. Maybe it’s the future spot of a primordus invasion!
Why would you max out guard killer first? Just wondering.
I always go for provision master/auto-looting first and then go from there. Trying to max out supply capacity but it takes a lot.
I’ve noticed that with the frequent long loading screens when my character comes back I can no longer see them unless I use a tonic or a potion.
This episode wasn’t my favorite so it isn’t everyone’s. But I favor the dragon plot anyway. I don’t see Taino being corrupted but I do see her dying or potentially unintentionally empowering the dragons or attracting the attention of some other sinister being. They’ve avoided revisiting or focusing on her the past few episodes so I definitely think they’re building up to something significant. I’m still hoping for a discovery of rata novus though.
The reason I prefer thief is also because the staff 5 helps you to prevent over or undercalculating a jump. Specifically the beams that are sometimes spaced or slanted to be tricky.
Mesmer is great but staff 5 on thief is practically guaranteed to help. If you aim the center of the circle where you want to land its pretty much guaranteed to land on a solid surface. I used it for the orb puzzle in timberline falls and it’s excellent for any puzzles that have wooden planks or narrow beams. The only ones that will probably give you trouble and be better on a Mesmer are aetherblade, the second part of morgans spiral, and possibly southsun but those are generally more difficult anyway. The griffin one might also pose a bit of a challenge.
I think in the end Lazarus is just Lazarus. He’s probably getting close to find his missing aspect. Perhaps the missing aspect is why we are able to see him.
I like the idea of Gleam but I’m just not sure anet is going in that direction.
Same with the six god theory.
I have every one maxed out except armorsmithing that’s just above 400. I only followed guides though. It would be too overhwelming and inefficient without guides.
I think rifle is the only thing that really makes sense for elite spec for thieves.
Either that or a bard class which could be pretty cool.
Although mesmers could easily be a bard class as well.
Sounds interesting but it would probably be greatsword instead of a brand new weapon type.
Sounds kind of death knight-ish.
Speaking of WoW classes, I’d love to have a demon hunter-esque elite spec for revenants involving dual axes or maybe even dual greatswords or something.
Revenant is a really visual class with a lot of neat almost phase-shifting abilities that I feel would work really well with a high mobility agile assassin profession.
It’s difficult to figure out what niche they might want to cover with revs next because they already have a decent condi build, a tanky build, a healer build even though it’s clunky and I hardly see anyone using it, and your standard melee build.
They definitely don’t have many ranged options though, so I can definitely see how a spirit summoning kind of range build would be a possibility.
Mace and shield healing medic spec probably.
Would also be cool to have a mace spec that involves assembling golemn suits/machinery but might be difficult to balance.
A focus as a remote control? LOL.
I’d love to see more developed with the arcane. I feel like arcane has always been kind of that random 4 spell traitline that doesn’t have any attunement or real part of the class.
I’m not a big fan of condi builds but ele is kind of lacking a specific condi build that actually does comparable damage to others. Perhaps a longbow or something?
I’d personally rather have and am leaning towards greatsword as their next weapon, but I hope they give them a lot more survivability for that.
Currently have Magi’s for my auramancer but am really wanting to get to the point that I can start farming Nightmare Challenge mote for the guild decorations.
Think it’s worth it switching over to cleric’s for the extra survival to help the team out or should I stay Magi’s?
I don’t have the quickest reaction time but may not be as bad once I get used to the mechanics. I don’t really raid but I did kind of choose magi’s in case I wanted to.
Working on getting the rest of my monk runes for the extra healing output and didn’t know if I should stick to the stats I have and use them or wait and switch to cleric’s. I also have a healer druid which I understand is still the most viable for raids in case I wanted to heal.
Anyone tried cleric tempest and liked it better than a pseudo-damage build? Without enrage timers in fractals it doesn’t seem like it would be a bad trade off but I’m not sure how much that extra toughness will actually help.
Probably been mentioned before, but I was thinking one day when trying to defend SMC while greatly outnumbered and it would be cool to have a little more variation in the siege we can deploy.
Some ideas would be a barricade, even if it’s just like the wooden spike walls you build in silverwastes.
Some more traps would be cool as well, like the wooden spikes that are hidden and trigger x-amount of times and then disappear perhaps.
I wish they were a tad bit larger with more meta events though. I do enjoy them and think I lean towards bitter frost myself for the diversity of landscape buy I kind of miss the big meta events. The thing about the new zones is just that all the events are kind of the same and there are fewer of them. I guess people prefer those more but it would be nice to have a little more variation. Leaning towards wanting another vertical jungle type map for the next one though.
Would be happy with verdant cascades near the raid or something though. I feel like we’ll end up getting more of rata novus soon.
Easiest is creating a looking for more post for the second raid wing that’s cleared, taking bloodstone dust to the pot of soup in the labor camp and making easy bloodstone bisque.
It only accepts bloodstone food which is account bound.
Can the non-race character still equip the gear, or does it just not show up visually?
The gear won’t show up in the equipment tab.
I’m sure this has been brought up before, but up until recently it had never been an issue because I never bothered sharing my ascended gear between different characters.
If something is transmuted to look like cultural armor, it won’t show up on a race that that cultural armor doesn’t belong to and you have to transmute it before sending it to another character.
Is there anyway this can be changed somehow in the future? Possibly by removing the transmuted look when a different race wears it? Or have it default back to it’s original appearance so it can be equipped without having to log back onto the previous character, waste a stone, and then bank it?
It would be nice to get another transmutation overhaul in the future in general, or possibly just do away with the cost of transmutation stones. I mean, I get plenty from wvw and pvp, and I don’t know how many people actually buy them.
But my main point is just that it’s frustrating having to transmute something to a universal or common appearance before another character can use it. It wastes an extra stone and makes the hassle of gear sharing even more tedious.
I also heard some of the people in the instance near her praising Caud, so that might be a little extra bonus of having her.
I completed the story once, and then tried going in just now after completing the final instance a second time last night for achievements and Wisteria, and now the door is giving me the message that it won’t budge.
It seems doing the instance a second time caused it to glitch out and lock me out of the vendor.
I did it for the second time last night to get Wisteria and it was much easier. Granted I was on a staff daredevil so I had a lot of dodges, but it seemed like there was less to avoid this time around. Avoid the red circles, click the special action as soon as you can, and throw the crystals to break his shield as quickly as you can.
I didn’t even get hit by the jade construct for some reason this time. I just focused on the boss and was on the opposite side of the room. Not sure what happened with that. Maybe I hit the construct with a crystal or something and it caused it to do less damage?
I did break everything the first time around though. lol
Bloodstone Bisque did in fact work for me last night as well. Should have updated it sooner.
Well we’re pretty close in the new raid. I’m curious to see how much of the current area will be explorable. I’m loving the assets in the new raid though. The new architecture and kind of overgrown forest theme without it being a jungle. Would love to see more areas like this that aren’t allocated to just raids.
Honestly, I’d love to have an explorable version of these raid wings that just doesn’t have any mobs in it or something so people could walk around and see it. Many people don’t. I just saw the complete wing of Salvation Pass the other day making bloodstone bisque for Wisteria and it was unlike anything you see in the open area which is kind of sad.
Could he be a disguised forgotten?
I like the Gleam theory.
Could it be Evennia? Seems suspect that we find all of these letters from -E lying around that are clearly there to protect Queen Jenna.
Buy lanterns for your guild hall!
Not gonna happen, but it would be cool if the gods showed back up at some point now that they’re bombing this entire city devoted to them.
I wonder if when they rebuild it they’ll put in a canthan district.
I can’t say I’m all that stoked about this part of the story compared to possibly revisiting the giant hole in Tangled Depth’s where I assume they were going to put another part of Rata Novus, or Taimi and the elder dragon plot.
Was really hoping for Isle of Janthir or something back in the jungle but I imagine it will be a quick chat with Braham and then the rest will be centered in the new map and Divinity’s Reach.
I wonder if we’ll get that huge undiscovered area at the convergence of td/drytop. I always imagined that to be a cool area filled with old forgotten ruins. And the topography of the painted circle has always intrigued me a lot. Just seems like it would be a really cool place to explore and finish off that part of Tyria.
Then again the area near Timberline Falls is still a giant undiscovered rectangle as well. lol
Well I love the idea of personal housing and always have, but at the very least I hope they get around to reducing scribing costs a bit more, redoing some of the recipes and simplifying them a bit like the fact that you need 3 ceramic planters for one non-basic plant, or at the very least adding a bunch more decorations.
Really hoping they add some this patch but I keep hoping that each update and it doesn’t really happen.
Would be great to get portals/chests/actual buildings like ceilings and floors and cheaper walls and things to build reasonable structures with.
I don’t know how hard it is to implement but a lot of the decorations we already have just seem like assets that are already in the game used elsewhere and coded for use in the guild hall.
I do sympathize with you though. Even the cost to be able to upgrade your building enough to be able to start scribing is costly. I can’t lie that I’ve swiped my card a few times just for guild hall upgrades and decorations. lol But it’s something others can enjoy too.
Sound like a goat?
I feel like I remember seeing when they were announced some talk about how more would be revealed as the expansion progressed, particularly behind the importance of the crystals you use to capture them. But I might have been reading too much into it.
It does seem like there was meant to me more to them, at least the Gilded Hollow with the updraft near the top or the chamber underneath the crystal platform that’s locked from the vault room.
I do wish they would add more to them or make them a bit more interesting somehow. Give people incentive to explore them. I’ve personally spent hours and a lot of gold decorating them and building jumping puzzles… and although it’s enjoyment enough for me, I would love to feel like others are getting some enjoyment out of it as well. At least add in a larger variety of decorations and make scribing cheaper.
I know it’s meant to be a gold sink and a guild group activity, but I think with a few changes to the scribing system from economy to complexity a lot more people would be interested in it. It’s really overwhelming for someone to get into, especially someone that’s new to the game.
Would be great to have asura portals you can place in them leading to other areas of the guild hall, a chest with you can put items in as a reward for the jumping puzzles.
Make certain decorations possibly tradeable on the trading post since a lot of smaller guilds won’t have access to some of the basic decorations needed to decorate their guild halls and give scribes like myself a chance to possibly recuperate some of the money we’ve spent.
Make a daily/weekly raid-style boss summonable in the guild hall to encourage guilds to do it as a guild mission or even other guild missions within the guild hall somehow. Mini-invasion challenge you can start.
Have npc’s and animals in them so that they’re a little less empty and stagnant. Somekind of livelihood outside of just vendors maybe? Ambient creatures… lol
Training dummies… possibly ones similar to the one in the aerodrome so people can test their damage and healing and what-not.
From a programming perspective I imagine a lot of this isn’t a walk in the park and they probably haven’t spent too much effort into developing them because I don’t think they’ve been extremely well-received or warranted a lot of resources, but I feel like this is one of those things where if they took a risk and invested more into them they would discover that people are actually interested in them.
Also, I hate to throw this idea out there, but I imagine they could make a killing on the gemstore with decoration packages.
