This isn’t nearly as important, but i feel it’s unnecessary to create a whole new thread for it:
Why call it “specialization” if there’s only one per profession? A specialization warrants multiple choice, as without it there’s nothing special at all; you’ll be exactly the same as everyone else. “Special” is a path one chooses that is very different from all others. And as there is only one path to choose for each profession, it just sounds really bad and is also misleading to call them specializations. There’s far more choices in the existing hero-point progression already. Thus they should be called “expertise” instead, as that is an improvement that doesn’t warrant multiple choice. Everyone can have the same expertise, but everyone cannot have the same specialization as the meaning of the word “special” more or less is “close to unique”. Everyone having the same path to go no longer makes it “special”.
Sorry for the English lesson, but this is how it actually works in the real world and i’m surprised that nobody at AN have picked up on this already.
because they’ll add more as time goes on?
I’d say about this long:

@dsslive: My assumption comes from the only announced legendaries not being the ones we want to see but rather, backpieces. Are legendary backpieces cool? Sure. Is it what we wanted legendary info on? I am not sure about that. I think we want to know about the weapons.
I am sure there are people that are way more into legendary back pieces than weapons. I’d be willing to wager a dapper llama that those people are in the minority though.
When they say that only three new legendaries are coming with HoT’s release day and they announce a few backpieces…that isn’t the best way to communicate to players and doesn’t give me any confidence that weapons will come at all. heck, they’ve been saying new legendaries are coming since 2013. Why should I hope at this point that any of that will actually come to fruition?
Well for all info there will be people that are not interested, and those who aren’t, all info will be released in time, what the “majority” (something that is completely unknown) wouild rather see is not that important. The information will be released in due time.
I don’t remember saying anything about having hope. But i’ll counter the question with this, why should you worry about something with reletively little (and sometimes confusing) information
In due time we will know all there is to know, so it might be bad, it might be good, but worrying over it just stresses you out, so why bother?
Because when Mike O’Brien and Colin stood up in front of an audience at PAX South at the beginning of the year they knew what those legendaries were. Same for Linsey Murdock when she did this blog post all the way back in March: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/a-legendary-journey/
She knew what the legendaries were and what they weren’t. They need to work on their communication. They know what players(monetary supporters of their game)are thinking when they talk about Legendaries. Not a single player at PAX South was thinking, “Hooray! Legendary backpieces are coming!” Not a one. Not a single person at home that set aside time to read Linsay’s blog was thinking about backpieces. Not a single person. And they know this and yet they continue to put out misleading information or just flat out don’t care. Either way, they need to work on their communication.
This goes back to 2013 dude. I’ve had two and a half years of patience. I log in to get my daily rewards now and log out. I am looking for something, anything that screams to me that ArenaNet wants my money for this expansion pack. Nothing has done that yet, and going from saying in 2013 that Legendaries are coming and then they don’t to saying that new Legendaries are coming in 2015 to a blog post in March that says a “handful” are coming to their are 3 coming on HoT’s release day, and then showing me 2 backpieces. Wow.
I’m all out of patience with it.
“they need to work on their communication”
Not really news there, totally agree with that.
As for the legendary backpieces, no one was expecting those because we didn’t know they were even an option, so ofc at that time no one “wanted” those (well expected those, legendary armor ahs been a topic for quite some threads , backpiece counts as armor right?) That doesn’t make the information unimportant, they talked about legendaries , the scavenger hunt, all that they still have to do is shown an actual expample of a legendary weapon really.
As for the final part, i still stand with what i said, people get so up in arms , it will never do anything other then stress you out. Just take things as they come and decide whether its worth it to you from what you know.
tl:dr
They need to work on communication (big wauw :p) , nobody expected backpieces so ofc they werent thinking about them and chillax and just take it as it comes

I am not a fan of the constant flow of those vanity items. But there it is: it’s vanity, you don’t need it and you can enjoy the gameplay without a legendary or a skin you can buy. That said: the game is at least fair and you can buy the items with ingame gold. Granted, since the exchange rate is extremely bad and even items like additional bag slots cost an insane amount of gold they should lower the prices or make items like bag slots, hair cuts etc. available via in game gold. I think that’s the price we have to pay without a monthly fee.
We still have to see what HOT has to offer. Yes, content doesn’t look much compared to other MMOs but even then you can sink lots of hours in it. There are games as short kitten -10 hours like The Last Of Us. But no one complains about the price tag of 10-15h.
The point I had in mind when I started the thread wasn’t that we needed new vanity items it was that we were told new legendaries were coming and we all thought: “Yay! Finally, new Legendary Weapons!” None of us thought it would be only 3 and two of them would be back items(Fractal Back item announced in a blog and a PvP back item announced at gamescom).
The Legendary weapons that were said to be coming literally years ago when ArenaNet themselves said they may never do an expansion are now behind a paywall of an expansion.
Think about that critically for a second. We were told on multiple occasions we were getting new ones and now not only are they behind a paywall, there may not be any new weapons. They may all be back items! The third one could be another back item(One new legendary requires us to do Fractals! Awesome! One requires PvP! Again, awesome! They are giving reasons to play this content and rewarding people with legendary items that like this content) The third one could require WvW play or the new Guild Battles or new map completion goals and it could be another back item.
No one was thinking about legendary back items. We were all thinking we were getting new Legendary weapons. Not only did they wait until the HoT character slot pre-order window was closed before announcing this, they haven’t even answered my original question!
My original question is: Are we getting 3 new legendaries at release and only 3 more after that, or are they releasing one at a time after the initial 3? Are they doing them in groups of 3? Are there any new Legendary Weapons?
The legendary backpacks have not been stated to be using the mastery tracks, the pvp one is gotten through pvp (by building it up) and the fotm ones is most likely .. well , fotm related. Is it possible? could be, but nothing has said that these will use the mastery tracks and scavenger hunt like the legendary weapons. So i’d hold off on assuming the backpacks are alrdy 2 of the 3 new legendaries.
We were all thinking we were getting new Legendary weapons.
- we are getting new legendaries, i think you meant to say, a new FULL set of legendary weapons.
As for your last question , i believe they come out in groups of 3 in subsequent patches, with 3 being at the start with HOT. So far nothing has been pointing that the legenadry backpieces fall under those 3, while it is a possibility, i’d hold off on getting worked up about it or worry about it till we have more information on it.
Well i’d love to get a new race to play around with, maybe tengu or largos.
Oh and +1 to the UWcombat overhaul
Calling gamers “spoiled” for expecting quality in a product for your money is naive and symbolic of a problem involving gamers and just throwing money desperately at any gaming company willing to make a game at all close to your already low expectations.
Technically, no one was talking about quality but quantity, this thread isn’t about how good the legendaries we will get at start and their scavenger hutns will be but how many there will be.
So technically, they’d be calling people spoiled because you expect quantity.
Anyhow, that’s all folks :p
Sorry but you are just gonna have to be patient, they wont roll that track out before HOT comes.
I’m okay with this really, not much more to say.
Except for those all up-in-arms about the lack of information/general disgruntledness about the information we did get concerning the pre-purchase. No one told you you HAD to pre-purchase now, you were free to wati logner to get more information. Be more wise with how you spend your money and don’t jsut jump in with eyes closed.
(i guess this is more of a general comment than jsut in this thread, but saw it mentioned again so thought, why the heck not :p)
Well this is a bit of a non-issue really. The reveals and the other specs aren’t necesarily being worked on by the same people. Just because they reveal X spec, doesn’t mean that working on an already revealed one gets put on hold.
Don’t worry, we can have both reveals and the exisitng ones being worked on at the same time.

What would happen when Anet releases more Specs like this? How will it even work if lets say i have 3 new specs equipped and they all change the virtues?
just a comment on this, elite specs won’t be able to be mixed, so let’s say they add another elite spec, you can’t use both the new one and the dragonhunter one. You can only use one elite, and combine it with 2 core specs.
Anyone else expecting to glide... but don't?

Not yet, so far, but i’m sure once HoT releases and i’ve spent hours gliding through the jungle, i will msot likely forget it’s not possible in old zones followed by numerous painfully hilarious deaths.
So this proves that two elite specs (of different professions) can very well get the same weapon.
Which we already knew about anyway. Glint datamine and shield art has been known for quite some time at this point and artwork is a greater indicator of reality than mere skill tooltips.
Very true, but datamines are speculation until we have something official like this pic. The only reason I point this out is to put those " NO? This profession is already getting this weapon, so this other profession won’t be getting it." claims to rest.
bull crap.. Datamine unfinished skills, is different from a Datamined art work which isnt something people can just code together. Artist take time to make those. Which is why they are more reliable than the skills.
Thief Staff has art work. Not just skills.
Ele sword had only skills.
Rev Shield had models made.Sure. Here’s some early artwork for the thief.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/0/05/Horia_Dociu_Sniper_concept_art.jpgThough it isn’t datamined, just let me know when that makes its way in game
That’s a picture of 3 years ago. I get the point you’re trying to make, but try to atleast be relevant and have some up-to-date examples.
The thief staff (the ingame model AND concept art) , the ele warhorn (both ingame model AND concept art for the traitline, the Revenant shield spec (ingame model) all came during the exact same time. Both ele and , now, revenant have proven to be correct, the conclusion one could make from those is that thief staff will indeed also be correct. And i do not mean that as fact, nothing is fact, no one is stating it is, it is still datamined information and not confirmed. But trying to use a 3 year old piece of concept art isn’t exactly making a relevant point. If it were to some randomly datamined concept art of that type then yes, it would ahve some relevance (even though its pretty kitten old) but that wasn’t exactly the point.
So yes, nothing is confirmed, but people can make a conclusion about it, considering everything else from that same datamined batch has turned out to be correct. But nothing is confirmed, until it’s confirmed. And to make that clear, it’s not necessary to use such an outdated example to make that point. Try to stick to more recent and relevant examples.
I’ve read somewhere that they are planning on giving them different icons. But got no official source
It is to be expected that atleast some of the expansion content will also be added to thsoe accounts that do not purchase it. I’m thinking in regards to professions (new animations/new skills) , armor sets, new professions. Anything that would still be relevant and open in the old world. To expect the size to remain the same, especially with an mmo, is pretty silly.
They HAVe to patch in all those skins/weapons/skills/animation etc etc. Because they can’t jsut show a big gap or replace skins you dont have on your client with big black blobs of nothingness.
So ye, the size of the gw2 file is gonna change for all users , hot or not.
As for in general concerning MMORPG’s, these types of games are known to be constantly updated , patched and changed, so ye, if you’re going to play an mmo you need to be aware that the size of the initial file will change. That’s just a fact when it comes to mmo’s.

That concept art is from livin story season 2, its a young caithe. Caithe has that face (which is not available to us) and it is one fo the more human faces.
I didn’t actually realize that it was an image of Caithe until you told me.
Doesn’t look much like her as she is ingame I think.
But Caithe does still have a lot of features of the original sylvari design, I’d guess because she was one of the first (sylvari) characters they created.
It’s her younger self, the one we played in one of the chapters, hence why the hair is different, the face is the same tho, it’s jsut the artsy style that coutns for the difference
Also, i would LOVE caithe’s face or more similar, there’s nothing wrong with variety.
The shape of the face is wrong, the nose is completely different.
Hairstyle is different too.
In itself the art is okay, but the resemblance is just poor. It’s just concept art though.
well ye that’s my point, it’s concept art, its not gonna be 100% accurate
Ummm what’s the weapon. I thought it was shield but realized it was diamonds in background.
It is a shield, a crystalline one

No ^^ Anet won’t let people with excess gold get the expansion, basically, for free. Sorry to say but you’re gonna have to pay actual real money, the only thing you can get in the gemstore is the upgrade from standard edition to deluxe.
If you haven’t received your slot, try support. They’ll be able to solve that for you.
The living story season 2 only offers story instances (with achievements ), all the maps that were added are available even if you do not own the chapters. As such you do not need LS2 to enter HoT.
It’s more than likely a placeholder, no need to be worried till it’s known for sure.
Your beta characters play on a seperate version of your acount , no progression from any of it is going to be saved. When you log into your regular characters they aren’t going to be there.
After not having played for awhile, these mobs certainly showed how i’m not that used to the combat anymore ^^ died several times, but kitten that was awesome. Loving how these mobs are actually strong (or i jsut suck rly much :p), i did do a lot better with chrono then with rev, but then i’m more used to mesmer so makes sense.
Keep em how they are, they should be more challenging.
since you’re in the betah and i’m not, a more pertinent question is this.. can you imagine yourself playing against such mobs for a 2 or 3 hour session? that’s the important bit (for me), that’s the gauge. that’s what’s been on my mind.
I wanna say yes, but i haven’t really played enough yet to really know Will play for a longer time tommorrow so i’ll find out.
It’s part of the pact commander mastery line. You can turn it on and off whenever you need it.
Depends on whether you use the squad chat, coze the mentor tag won’t have that, but otherwise i guess they’re pretty similar ye
Only way to get on the new map is to wait for ArenaNet to make it accessible.

I do believe its partially because all the old precursors have had that whole rework in how they’ll be available, which might sound small, but i’m betting its a lot of work for each “scavenger” hunt" it could be a reason why they dont have a full set.
They’ve been talking about that idea for a couple years now. It came up not long after release, and was supposed to be coming as part of some feature update long ago. Now it just looks like something that’s been pushed back and shoved into HoT to make it seem more substantial. Even though work on the feature has supposedly been around since before a retail expansion was even being considered.
Trust me i know, i’ve been waiting for it for ages since RNGesus pretty much loathes me when it comes to precursors :p
It could be pushed back on purpose to fit in with the expansion, in which case the old pre’s scavenger hunts would have been rounded off already.
But.. it could also be that they went through various concepts on how to introduce it and it kinda came together very close or at the same time they were working on the expansion. Which means they’d still have to do all the work for it.
there isn’t really a way of knowing which is the case, tho. I’m more inclined to go with the second. (ignoring countless other possible reasons that are not the ones i mentioned ofc ) but that’s just me.
-snip-
only rly gonna adress one thing, but regarding the “it only being content if we choose to use it” line. That’s not really how content works. Dungeons is content whether you actual do dungeons or avoid them like the plague, they’re still content. A collection that i choose to do is as much content as the one i choose not to do.
So ye, if you choose not to go through certain content, that content doesn’t really tend to disappear. It’s still there, and counting as content.
Anyhow, back on topic (if i wasnt alrdy :p) i had hoped for couple more, even tho i knew we weren’t getting them all at once, but i dig the concept of legendaries coming as the story develops. Hopefully that means they’re more tied to lore, but who knows really I do believe its partially because all the old precursors have had that whole rework in how they’ll be available, which might sound small, but i’m betting its a lot of work for each “scavenger” hunt" it could be a reason why they dont have a full set, but i’m not really worried tbh. I mean i dont even have one legendary yet (hoping to change that with HoT , gimme that bifrost pre plox :p) so i’ll have plenty of time before i even start looking into the directions of the otehr legendaries. So if it comes a couple onths later i dont mind.
It might not be needed but i’m hella glad it is coming. you may not find the revenant interesting but i’m sure there are plenty of people who do (me included).
I love the entire concept of summoning legends, and had a lot of fun playing the revenant during the test weekend. Yes the numbers needed some work, but thats what the test weekends and beta’s are for, to get feedback on that.
So no it’s probably not needed, is anything really NEEDED tho? Either you like the class or you don’t, but whether it’s needed or not is quite irrelevant since classes are there to offer a different taste. Just like all the current professions are unnecessary in theory, the only thing they bring is different packages that speak to different people.
You are not getting my point.
They made it to make it easy for new players. But they made it for everyone.Kinda repeating the same sentence…. Can’t you spot the difference between:
“Do something for someone to reason”
And
“Do something to reason” (where reason is for someone in particular, but only the reason, not the something. But that something is something done, for everyone)
?“I’m donating food to kids in africa because they are hungry”
Here it’s clear that i’m giving food to kids in africa“I’m donating food, because kids in africa are hungry”
Here is not that clear. Maybe I’m donating food to an ONG that distributes this food between Africa, Middle-east, etc?
But in the end it doesn’t matter how you choose to interpret the sentence but how Anet interprets it. It says what it says, if you choose to see it differently , in the end, won’t matter even a little bit
If you have an issue with the price as a whole, that’s a different issue, but they are not handing out free core games.
Wrong!
From Regina Buenaobra:To clarify: $50 is the price of the expansion. We included the core game as a free bonus to make it easier for new players to get into it.
My point is really valid. Although I know it’s a mistake from their part, because it leads to misinterpretation.
Now don’t go to “the free bonus is only for new players”. They say they include the core game as a free bonus, and I really don’t care the reason. They just do
The quote from Regina says “make it easier for new people to get into it” this part is quite important to the sentence.
dsslive.8473: I know what she/he was saying. She/he found a minor flaw in my argument and capitalized on it instead of the point. that’s it. She/he agreed with what I was saying otherwise. And the absolute lack of tact in this thread is the only thing I’ve taken “personal”.
Actually s/he just pointed it out, s/he didn’t use any of that to argument against your point. If i see an error in a post i’ll still point it out even if i agree with it, there is no malicious intent behind it. They aren’t trying to invalidate your argument with it, they are just pointing it out because it’s inaccurate and thus irrelevant to the point of the thread. Haven’t really seen anyone being tactless, tbh.
Anyhow, this isnt really relvant to the topic so i’m gonna leave it with that. Alrdy made my position clear, i’m fine with it as long as it’s an option to not show them. all the best to you.
(edited by dsslive.8473)
It really doesn’t matter who develops the game or publishes or stands on the street corner and sells bootleg gw2 disks. The point is, I as well as many others (yourself included) would like to have a “own name” type of option. I came to the community forum to express my hopes for the future of gw2.
I’m not trying to be difficult Inculpatus cedo.9234. I’m just frustrated that I have to defend my stand, even from the people that want the change themselves. A similar change would have absolutely ZERO impact on the people who don’t find value in it. But screw me right? “Welcome to the Internet: Where even when you’re right, you’re wrong.”
No need to take every reply so personal. Calm down, take a breath.
All Inculpatus was saying is that other games under ncsofts names don’t have any relevance to Gw2. It’s not saying no to your suggestion (or yes for that matter) just that the comparison you made between two different games by two different developers dont rly have an effect on one another. that’s it really.
As for the other replies, yes, it’s a simple request, but if you’re going to voice your opinion on it, you need to realize that people who disagree or see no merit in the request are going to respond too and that its nothing personal just differenting opinions.
As for my own opinion, i wouldn’t mind if it was added, as long as it has an option to disable it, while i personally dont want my character name to be displayed, i see no problem with others wanting too. Given it’s possible to opt out.
Actually, you are all trivializing this a bit much. Its not a critical problem but it is an increasingly annoying one IF you want your name have some relevance or meaning to the character or to just simply look like an actual NAME as opposed to gibberish. The maximum combos numbers people are throwing around are silly: “uomnyuogo” is not a name most people would chose but its probably one of the combos in that total. If you want your name to be quasi-reasonable/sane/recognizable as an actual NAME you’ll find yourself spending an ridiculous amount of time trying variation upon variation upon variation of the name you want without much luck. Been there, done that. Annoying as hell.
In before the names don’t matter crowd: If it doesn’t matter to you do us all a favor the next time you make up a permanent character you want to play . . . roll your face across the keyboard and take that name. The rest of us will take the pronounceable ones that actually look like names.
I’ve made plenty of characters over time and will make plenty of others in the future, i have never had to spend a ridiculous amount of time to find one that was available, and no, i dont use names that are jsut letters squashed together, they’re all totally plausible names, hardly that original
As to the commitment to never reset names….I seem to remember a whole lot of other commitments that changed as time passed. Please see “living world”, “no grind” and “no expansion” for details.
What’s the commitment that changed with living world? it will continue after HoT, maybe there was something else, so pls elaborate.
“No grind” , that commitment didn’t change, you can get the gear you need doing whichever task you want. There is optional grind, but that isnt going against what they said. You dont need to grind that one dungeon to get the gear so you can finally get pased this other dungeon, etc …
I don’t know where you got that information but they never said no to an expansion, they said at the time they weren’t thinking about one but that it was a possibility, they were going to see how they could expand the world with living story. Apparantly they decided why not both, but not a change in commitment as they never said no to one.
You wouldn’t be punished for originality. If you have not logged in for 2 entire years straight you are most definitely not entitled to sit on 3, 4, or 5 letter unaccented names especially if you are too lazy to spend one second to log in once in TWO years.
Anet have already said otherwise.
And anet is going to eat those words one day, mark my words, because all the NA/EU servers are using the combined account pool and at least a third of those accounts have probably not logged in two years. I wish I had their data so I could provide inactivity charts.
They weren’t thinking clearly. The mmos that wiped names did so even despite working with a fraction of the account pool per-server, it still needed to be done. It needs to be done here even more (if we go on the amount of servers: 20 times more or more), and the time bomb is ticking.
They did just fine with gw1 after 10 years where you could only use 2-worded names, considering you can use 1-worded names in gw2, i’m sure they’ll be fine.
You either upgrade you current account or make a new one entirely with hot on it. You can’t make a new account of the core game while upgrading your old account.
No they won’t, they were for that one closed beta. It came and went.
You wouldn’t be punished for originality. If you have not logged in for 2 entire years straight you are most definitely not entitled to sit on 3, 4, or 5 letter unaccented names especially if you are too lazy to spend one second to log in once in TWO years.
And you are not entitled to take away their names.
Gw2 is, and will always be, a game where you can get long breaks and come back to find your account intact. Don’t like that? sorry but it’s not gonna change.
Borsook says:
“if your name is so original why do you mind if your char is renamed? nobody will take it so you can claim it back, since it’s original right?”
wtf are you afraid of then
oh wait
it’s just people who started when game opened, took all the good names
and now sit on them thinking it’s okIronically, Toxic and I do the same thing… take names and sit on them even if we have no intention to play kek
I make new characters regularly and have never had any issue making single word names or double word names. It’s not that hard.
Also, ye i could come up with new names for my characters but the name is as essential a part of the character as his/her looks. It makes a character whole, and i’m not okay with part of my character being taken away just because someone can’t think of an original name. I never had any issues creating names, maybe you just need to step up your naming game instead of wanting others to be punished for your unoriginality.
I have never bought a even a single extra bag slot, i always just had enough with the space i have. And when its full, i go to a merchant.
While the price maybe a bit high, it’s a luxury item at best, it isn’t needed at all. So i dont think the price will go down.
p/p can’t decide of its a condition weapon or a power weapon. Staff won’t be able to decide if its a melee weapon or a ranged weapon. You see the comparison? X can’t decide if its a Y weapon or Z weapon.
I 100% agree with you on the dual pistols part, but how do you know about the staff? Despite evidence supporting staff, we don’t even truly know if it’s the thieves elite weapon, let alone the skills that are going to come along with it.
Side note, I’d prefer the staff to be a melee weapon, as a magic-wielding, ranged “shadow assassin” theme would fit better for a focus or scepter in my opinion.
people data mined a picture of “staff theif” (you know…like how they datamined a ele with sword. look how true that turned out)
and now they assume that they getting a melee staff like revanent(you know. the thing people hated for its horrible dmg and cried about)thief getting ranged staff…doesnt really make sense. as we have so many ranged staffs, and even ranger staff is ranged.
theif melee staff, is like wise a bad move. cause look at revanant’s reaction to it. now thief players are assuming a staff will be “good AoE” when in all likely hood its going to (if its real) be pathetic dmg that is a gimmick, and nothing more.
Rifle has the potential to a new playstyle. with dmg potential while avoiding making any of theif’s current weapons irrelevant (they will all have their roles wile rifle is stationary long range)
but staff would either be horrible underperforming and weak.
or
would replace sword as the theif AoE melee weapon.
or
would replace shortbow as the ranged AoE weapon.
in the end, it doesn’t fit.
People commented on revenant staff based on its numbers not its playstyle or its skills, numbers ahve since been adjusted.
As for the datamining, yes , it is not official till it’s announced. But your comparison can be improved a bit. See the thief staff (both picture and weapon) were datamined at the same time as the Ele warhorn (and the picture used on the spec line). The ele warhorn came true, so…
But yeah, ofcourse we will not know till its officially announced.
Whether it fits depends on the actual weapon skills, of which we know nothing. Yes thief already has dagger and sword mainhand. Warrior has sword/gs/hammer/axe/etc mainhand, yet they all function differently, until we see the weapon and its skills its hard to judge whether it brings something new to the class. There’s more to playstyles then melee or ranged.
I mean dont get me wrong rifle would be a cool weapon, but atm there is more pointing towards staff (recent datamining) than to rifle.
Either way, i’d be happy with either. Can’t wait to hear what the spec of thief will be.
if we talk about datamining
i’ll point to beta test datamining of vanilla GW2
when Thief concept art still had rifle in it
and thief datamining had rifle skillsbut before release, it got delayed, and then launch came, and it got forgotten(or was it? Anet was it forgotten, delayed, or postponed?)
so rifle has had dibs far longer, going so far to have concept art with game’s launch.
I don’t think it works that way
But as i said, no datamining is official, it could be staff, rifle, or god knows what else. The reason people feel staff is more likely is because there is more proof towards it. Whether that comes true remains to be seen. No way to know other than to be patient. Would be silly to already be so sure what it will be before hearing anything about it.
Tho i would certainly not mind for that concept to be introduced, as long as it comes with that amazing armor she’s wearing.
p/p can’t decide of its a condition weapon or a power weapon.

Lets get this straight NOBODY says we are getting no reveal next week stop thinking just because they haven’t said anything it means we are not getting a reveal unless you have tangible proof stop giving out misinformation.
They’re not going to do a reveal of an elite specialization, when you can only play the 4 ones that ARE revealed that beta weekend.
probably not no, but just because there is no elite spec reveal doesnt mean no information. We didnt get an elite spec this week, but we did get information. There’s still Challenging content to be talked about.
It was recently revealed , here’s the link:

so you’re telling me to accept they get a free game for which i paid 60 euros. yeah… really makes sense. that’s a lot of money, guys
a game that you paid 60 euros for 3 years ago, the game has since then become cheaper, the cheapest its been was 10 euros, kinda the same amount of money the char slot costs that they give you.
You’re free to wait till the next expansion after HoT, since HoT will come free with it, then you get the same benefit , or wait for the one after that and get both for free.
As with any game the longer it has been out, the cheaper it gets.

What Ayrilana said, you do not pay for the base game, you buy only the HoT expansion. As such it IS sold seperately. New people just get an extra free bonus.
The base game has no impact on the price of the expansion.

This! I agree. As someone who has been playing since launch/beta, I find this completely ridiculous. I had to pay $59.99 for the core game + now I need $49.99 for the expansion. That’s $109.98 for the core game and the BASIC Expansion! BASIC!. Meanwhile the new player pays $49.99 and gets both. What the actual hell? How is this fair? This feels like a giant slap across the face of everyone who purchased the game from the start.
Thank you Anet,
Good to see how you don’t give two sh**s about your long-standing loyal customers.
Sincerely,
A p***ed off customer who has been with you from the very start.
The base game has been constantly on sale for like 10$ so tehy’d still pay less then you, you’re free tow ait till the expansion gets really cheap to pick it up if you think its too much.
Plus ofc the 3 years of playing. But what does that mean to anyone.
Games get cheaper over time, if you don’t like that, you’re free to wait till a game is rly cheap before you pick it up.
