Lunatic Inquisition guide (for those unsure what to do)

in Halloween Event

Posted by: dulfy.1493

dulfy.1493

I had the pleasure of playing Lunatic Inquisition a couple times and had a blast. The first 2-3 rounds I was utterly confused and didn’t had as much fun. Therefore, I decided to make a little guide in case you were as confused as I was. Bascically, you get sorted into two teams, villagers and lunatics. Villagers have to survive and gather stuff while lunatics hunt down villagers convert them into lunatics.

What I post below is sort of a TL:DR summary. If you want to see a couple more specific things, please check out http://dulfy.net/2012/10/27/gw2-lunatic-inquisition-halloween-event-guide/

Villager

  • Survive and gather stuff to hand in to the NPCs on the four corners. What to gather? Look at the map below
  • If you are feeling brave, you can go to the middle of the map, pick up a hammer, and bring the fight to the lunatics
  • You run fast, but you don’t have out of combat regen and can only gain health by eating food/banquets you find
  • Watch your buff bar, if you see a Mad King command, find a good spot, stand still and type in the command (ponder, cower, shrug, salute, dance) or you will get damaged!

Lunatics

  • Kill villagers! Eviscerate (#2) does alot of damage!
  • Use traps, did you know you pick up food on the ground and make fake banquets to poison villagers? Pure evil!
  • Use your Eviscerate whenever you can as it deals a lot of damage. if a villager is running away, use plant scarecrow in their path and use your Mad King says ability. These will all generate points for you
  • Mad King says ability is especially powerful. Once casted on a villager, they have to stand still and do the command (ponder, cower, shrug, salute, dance) or they get damaged!
  • Use teleports to quickly get around the map.
  • You can sort of run around the four NPC that the villagers are turning in stuff to hunt down villagers.

Map
Here is a map that should help you quite a bit.

You welcome!

To answer the other questions, the achievement you get is zone specific. Skritt burglers in different zones transform you into specific animals.

Hey there, L80 Mesmer looking an active PvE focused guild to run explorable dungeons with. I have very little interest in PvP or WvW and just mainly interested in running dungeons with a small group of people who are interested in the same stuff.

  • Level 80 Mesmer, being 80 for quite a while.
  • Ran AC, TA, COF, COE, HOTW, Arah on explorable mode before and interested in running all of them to collect dungeon armor
  • Not interested in large zerg guilds, a small static group preferred..
  • You can either PM me or contact me ingame (name is Dulfy)

Thanks!

Gearing at at L80, a semi comprehensive guide to endgame gearing

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: dulfy.1493

dulfy.1493

Hey everyone, it has being more than a month since GW2 was released and alot of you are probably reached or about to reach L80. I thought this would be a time to release my endgame gearing guide that I wrote in the past week. Basically, if you are not sure what to do at L80 to get all exotics, then this might be a worth a read.

Guide here: http://dulfy.net/2012/10/03/gw2-endgame-gearing-guide/

The guide is fairly lengthy and and to reduce the amount of vertical scrolling, I have enclosed most of the information in dropdown boxes. This allow you to skip the sections you don’t want to read and jump onto the important bits right away. I will also include a TL:DR summary here.

Those who care only about exotics might find these three charts helpful

Basic Information

  • Item tiers (White (trash) < Blue (fine) < Green (masterwork) < Yellow (rare) < Orange (exotic) < Ascended (red-pink) < Purple (legendary)
  • Item affixes (Berserker, Rampager etc)
  • Salvage everything that is L70+ for rare mats w/ discussions on salvage kit usage
  • Map Completion your 60-70 and 70-80 zones for L70+ exotics

Trinkets & Backpieces

  • List of Masterwork & rare trinkets you can get on the TP
  • Mats you need for exotic trinkets
  • How to to obtain Ascended rings and backpieces

Armor

  • Fine/Masterwork: Cursed Shore karma vendor location and stats
  • Fine/Masterwork: WvW karma vendor location and stats
  • Rare: What mats you need to get a full set crafted (1.5-2 gold for the full set)
  • Rare: WvW karma vendor also sell a rare set for 95k karma
  • Exotics: Select sets based on your stats preference
  • Exotics: Four ways to get full exotics: crafting (10-12 gold for full set), Dungeons (token grinds), WvW (Badges of Honor grind), or Karma (Orr Temple karma grind at 42k karma/piece)

Weapons

  • Fine/Masterwork: Cursed Shore Karma vendors or WvW vendors
  • Rare: WvW karma vendors or T3 cultural vendors if you got spare karma
  • Rare: How to get them crafted w/ full mat list.
  • Exotics: Full mat list for regular crafting, mat list for mystic forge crafting, you can also get them from dungeons and wvw

Runes/Sigils

  • A list of most exotic runes/sigils in the game with methods on obtaining them (mat list for those that are crafted)

Food

  • Peach tarts for 26% magic find and +60 power (<20 copper each)
  • Onomnomberry stuff if you want 30% magic find
  • Lotus Fries are a cheaper alternative if you just want 30% magic find (1/3 price of Onomnom stuff)

List of cooking material farm w/ maps

in Crafting

Posted by: dulfy.1493

dulfy.1493

Hey everyone, I compiled a list of cooking material farms that I encountered while exploring all the leveling zones. I thought this might help those who are trying to level up a chef although the mats themselves are not too expensive on the trading post.

Here is list, the top section is sorted by the cooking material while the bottom is sorted by zones with map for every zone along with the nearest waypoint
http://dulfy.net/2012/10/03/gw2-cooking-material-farms/

What are farms?

Farms in GW2 are a collection of 8 identical cooking material nodes. They have a 23 hr respawn and can be found in almost every zone. During the beta when this was first discovered, one of the devs said that they contain cooking materials that can be found only in those farms.

I am not a chef, why do I care about these farms?
Farms are a great way to get unidentified dyes. Unfortunately, not all of the cooking materials in them sell well. Most sell only a couple copper while others sell for a max of 30 copper each.

What cooking mats are available in farms?

  • Artichoke
  • Butternut Squash
  • Cabbage
  • Cauliflower
  • Grape
  • Lettuce
  • Potato
  • Spinach
  • Strawberry
  • Sugar Pumpkin

Well armors in MMO often do not correlate with battle effectiveness or otherwise everyone would be in boring thick plate hehe.

Semi high res gallery of crafted armor sets

in Crafting

Posted by: dulfy.1493

dulfy.1493

Hey everyone, I made this gallery over the weekend to help those who are wondering what armor models are available via crafting. I know a preview window exists but I feel that it doesn’t do some of the armor models justice do to its low res and weird dye combinations. It doesn’t have the set from the karma recipes and doesn’t have all the races and female/male genders. I got as many as I could and welcome any submissions of the races/genders that I am missing (you can contact me in game and I can mail you the set as long it is not the exotic or the rare set).

I took these pictures on max graphic settings in areas with lots of light. Some dye combinations are not optimal unfortunately.

Here is the link to the gallery (make take a moment to load): http://dulfy.net/2012/09/24/gw2-crafted-armor-gallery/

Here are the sets available

Tailor

  • Embroidered
  • Student
  • Acolyte
  • Winged
  • Feathered
  • Masquerade
  • Exalted

Leatherwork

  • Seeker
  • Outlaw
  • Leather
  • Rascal
  • Prowler
  • Noble
  • Emblazoned

Armorsmith

  • Chain

  • Splint

Comprehensive guide to Twilight Arbor Explorable dungeon & token farming

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: dulfy.1493

dulfy.1493

Hey there, after the recent COF buff, alot of people are looking for other dungeons to run for cool armor and legendary weapon components. I have being running Twilight Arbor with a couple of my friends for quite a bit and I thought I would share some of my experiences farming/running this L55 explorable dungeon.

General things to keep in mind

  • This dungeon has very little waypoints, you won’t unlock the second waypoint until you kill the 3rd boss. It is a very long run back if you die
  • Condition removers are a must here if you have them, alot of things here (i.e. blossoms) stack poison or confusion so getting them removed here will make your life eaiser
  • Volatile Blossoms are your friend- if you get downed and there is one nearby, hit it for instant rally

Path Selection
You can pick paths after you defeated the Greater Nightmare Vine (shared boss for all 3 paths). One path is a bit overtuned while the two others are similar in difficulty

  • Up (some nasty spider trash but the bosses are fairly easy, especially last boss – 25-30 mins)
  • Forward/Forward (Highly difficult path, nasty trash that does knockdown and bosses are difficult, 1-2 hrs)
  • Forward/Up (Trash a bit easy but the bosses are slightly difficult, 30-35 mins)

Token Farming
You get 30 tokens for the first time you run each path per day (daily reset at 5 PM PST) so it advisable to run path 1 and 3 (Up and Forward/Up) everyday so you get 60 tokens. Running the same path before the daily reset will only reward you with 20 tokens.

Rozgar spins my whole team (CoF)

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: dulfy.1493

dulfy.1493

The trick for that part dealing with Rozgar is to not stand in the direction he is facing as he will spin in that direction. You will also want to pull him out so you have more room to dodge his spinning attacks and those from his greatswords. Once you get him down to 70-80% (burn all your elites etc), it gets alot easier.

Here is a video.

Like the previous poster said, run the Magg route as the other routes seems to be a little buggy. You can finish the Magg route in <17 minutes with a good group and receive around 30-50 silver, 125k xp and 20 tokens per run.
