Standard 3 point capture map with 2 artifacts on the side of the map.
Offensive Artifact – Give your team 20% damage (both physical and condi). Wielder of the artifact summons a reaper that automatically stomp any downed enemy players unless they get rallied first.
Defensive Artifact is called Shield of Life, give entire team 5000 HP and 100 Toughness. Wielder of the Artifact get 1 free rez when they go down.
PvP is about capturing that glory, and Coliseum adds to that theme.
There is a crowd mechanic – crowds will cheer/jeer whenever someone get stomped, rallied, artifact captured etc. Adds a bit more immersion/moral support.
They want see player reaction to two side buffs that open at the same time – do you commit 1 player to each, 2 to each? How do you retain map control? No dominant strategy has prevailed in the playtesting.
One of the differences between this map and other maps is that secondary objectives like artifacts do not immediately give you team score. While you may be able to get the artifact, you still need to capitalize on that buff with your team before you can make use of it.
More open area around the midpoint, will be interesting to see how players maintain line of sight while staying on the points.
What really define this map is that the buffs are incredibly strong. They are curious to see what influence it will have on competitive play.
Hey everyone, I have written up some guides to the second and third boss of this current raid wing for those interested in reading. They are some of the most enjoyable bosses in this raid so far and has some pretty interesting mechanics. As always, the raid mechanics aren’t complicated to figure out so going in blind and looking up when your are stuck is usually the better option.
Ugly wool glider skin is now available in the gemstore by purchasing the Mini Angry Wintersday Gift for 400 gems which unlocks a small quest. It is dyeable with two dye channels.
According to the new livestream showcasing the new wintersday update, there is a new shoulders that is a bit like Nightfury but give a snoweffect instead. You will need to buy the blueprint for a few gold/karma and then do wintersday activities and put certain sigils in the mystic forge.
Hey everyone, I have compiled a list of all of new armor, weapon and backpieces skins that were added with HoT so far and their acquisition methods. In total there are 3 full armor sets, 1 heavy only armor set, 8 full weapon sets, and 22 backpiece skins. This doesn’t include all the misc weapon/armor pieces that are from specializations and random drops.
Note that due to the timegating and some other factors, the recipes for some of the items like guild armors, tenebrous/shimmering weapons, legendary backpacks, and scribe backpacks are not fully known yet. Will update as I get more info. If you see any weapon/armor/backpiece I have missed please let me know!

Hey everyone, for those who are having trouble find the Hero Points in the new Heart of Thorns maps I have wrote up several guides for them. Right now I have Verdant Brink, Auric Basin, and Tangled Depths finished and hoping to have the final map done sometime tomorrow.
While I get this achievement, Sylvari Soldarity, makes sense from a story perspective and it could be a nice optional achievement, why is it required for the meta achievement of ACT I to get the mastery point and ascended amulet?
For those not aware. This achievement require you to have a sylvari character able to do the first mission of Heart of Thorns. You literally don’t have do anything, just be Sylvari.
I realize that it is easy to make a character and get to 80 these days and achievements shouldn’t be easy but what about players that don’t have an additional character slot for just a sylvari character? This kind of forced racial requirement could set up a slippery slope?
Hey everyone, with the release of Guild Halls, I thought it might be helpful have a guide on how to claim your guild hall and the type of material costs you can expect for the first couple key upgrades.
Lost Precipice is in NW corner of Verdant Brink and can be reached with some gliding. Gilded Hollow, however, is in the middle of Auric Basin map and will require someone with Exalted Markings mastery in your guild. Teleport to friend is a great item to have here since you can have one person run to the entrance while rest of the guild can just teleport.
The event to claim your guild hall scale up with number of players in your instance so bigger guilds have a challenge while smaller guilds does not need to fear about getting overwhelmed. Minimum number of players you will want is probably a group of 5.

For those who missed the lastest guild chat livestream, they revealed more on the 3 new legendaries and the new action camera mode that is pretty cool. Here is a recap for those who missed it.
You do not siege golems blueprints to craft them. It is actually called Memories of Battle or something, just uses the same icon as the golems. Obviously it is from WvW I guess.
There was a raid panel at the Twitchcon today with lots of Q&A about the upcoming raids.
Main points
Don’t need commander tag to form squads for raids, can do a leaderless squad. It has less control than a commander tag full squad but it is sufficient for raids.
These raids will be hard to PuG
First person to enter the instance will set the progress. Rewards are on a weekly basis.
Expect unique rewards from bosses with higher drop chance (10%), exclusive weapon skins, ascended rewards, precursors for legendary armor
First raid wing will be released before the holidays 2015, second raid wing in early 2016.

Hey everyone, I thought I would make a video showing all the reaper animations for every gender/race for those who are curious about what race/gender combo to roll at release for example. These are the animations for beta weekend 1 and may not be final.
Still waiting for confirmation concerning auto loot working in WvW or not, despite twitch chat blowing up and asking this question repeatedly, they failed to address the question.
I can clarify this a bit. If you waypoint away before something dies and it dropped loot, you won’t immediately get it. If you return to the area, you will get the loot as soon as you can see it. It will basically pick up all loot you can see. The exception is WvW, since loot bags always spawns at your feet. If you waypoint, the loot will spawn at your location and should get immediately picked up. If your inventory is full when something drops, it will be left on the ground and you will have to pick it up manually after you clear out some space.
