Hey everyone, here is my interactive guide to the 30 Golden Badges achievement added with this release. I have to say this round of scavenger hunt/jumping puzzle combo is some of the hardest content I have seen so far from a personal point of view. While most of it is fairly simple, about 5-6 are tough to acquire or spot with 2 of them being especially tough from a jumping perspective.

• The golden badges are numbered with the least amount of backtracking possible. The exception is #30 as I wanted to save one of two hardest badges for last.
• Badges are rated in terms of difficulty, this should give you a headsup on how much time might be required to acquire each badge.
• Map is fully interactive, clicking on an icon will lead you to a blurb about the badge with some pictures and a timestamped video for that badge.

Thanks for everyone that helped with the badges. It was an exhausting search and my constantly fail of jumps didn’t help either.

Ooh, so you can cycle through them and just not use the blue and green ones when they pop? I was thinking I’d have to bring a friend to burn him down in one go.

Indeed, just leave him alive and watch him teleport around. If he port to green color beam, he will give a green buff. If he port to red, he will give red etc. Just make sure you kill him after he ports to the red beam for that achievement.

It is much faster than killing it and then wait for respawn if the wrong color buff is provided.

So here is the issue with the Faucet of Light boss and the Better Red than Dead achievement.

For that achievement, you can only use the red color. The little guy tend to go to the green or blue color beam and give you green or blue buff instead of red 80% of the time. There is a bit of RNG annoyance in there. Sometimes it can take 5 minutes for it to finally give you the red color buff when killed since it is totally random.

This isn’t a big deal for most classes as they can probably kill them in 2-3 cycles. With mesmers though your illusions are killed instantly when summoned even if you have the protection buff. This means you are not doing much damage with the buffs without your illusions and you take much longer.

What end up is an exercise in frustration caused by an achievement that uses RNG to waste your time and probably not designed with mesmers in mind.

The facet of light is extremely punishing for mesmers since the illusionss die instantly they are inside the big circle next to the boss. I can barely do any damage while inside the circle without my illusions

Hey everyone, for those who are working on the silverwastes achievements or the luminescent shoulderguards collections I have finished up two guides related to it that you may find useful.

Silverwastes achievements: Most of the achievements are just copy/paste of a set of 3 achievements (defending, kill rare legendary, and kill underground champion) 4 times for each fort. There are some other misc achievements like lost badges, bandit chests, and bandit crests as well.

Luminescent Shoulderguard Collections: Goes hand in hand with the silverwaste stuff and EP5 story content with some additional legwork in Caledon Forest. Easy collection to complete though if you tend to do all the achievements anyways.

GW2 gemstore released something pretty decent this week. Newly added to the gemstore are Ceremonial Plated Outfit and Belinda’s Greatsword (i.e. the katana) for 700 gems and 600 gems respectively.

I read somewhere that if you hadn’t yet made the mysterious vine, you should be able to just start it now without hitting this bug. Can you or can anyone else confirm?

Yes you are perfectly fine now. Everyone that have their ascended backpiece now had to remake theirs after the patch.

What do you mean by “not skip any steps”? What steps are skippable?

Bascially Arenanet’s bug skipped everyone to the Ascended step by converting your Cultivated Seed to Pet Seed. However, because the process does not allow any skip,s most players are bugged and cannot craft the Ascended version or the 2nd exotic step. The only exception are those who made the Mysterious Vine after yesterday’s patch or those who went and remade theirs to get the Cultivated Seed back

Hey everyone, here is a guide to the Mawdrey Ascended backpiece which is the Ascended version of the Mysterious Vine/Cultivated Vine backpiece you may have seen previously.

To craft Mawdrey, you must craft Mysterious Vine and Cultivated Vine backpieces in sequence and cannot skip any steps. Because of the bug which Arenanet have yet to fix, players wishing to craft this Ascended backpiece currently have to redo Dragon’s Reach EP1 on their alts and regain all the items to craft Mysterious Vine again. This method is only feasible for players who are either rich or impatient. Rest can wait for the patch to begin their crafting.

Mysterious Vine (Cultivated Seed) –> Cultivated Vine (Pet Seed) –> Mawdrey & Mawdrey II

Mawdrey II is a “plant” that feed on Bloodstone Dust. It can only eat 200 Bloodstone Dust per day and give you a Gift for each 50 Bloodstone Dust it eats. The gifts are mostly greens, some gathered plants, and general junk. You will receive Mawdrey II for free when you crafted have crafted Mawdrey

There is a bug with the tentacles in securing Goldenlight Hallow become invul and unable to be killed. This is not just 1-2 tentacles, this is pretty much all the tentacles, causing the 10 minute Concordia clear achievement to be unobtainable.

I am not sure what cause it, it could be me running too far ahead from Magister after rescuing her. I had this bug 4 times and on the 5 time I run after her and picked Braham instead of Rox.

I think it is a bit more in depth in a couple of places like weapons/utilities etc and also a bit more picture heavy. Spoj can probably tell you the exact differences though.

  3.Unload – Unload your water pistol at your targeted location (8s recharge, 900 range)
  4.Dump and Run – Create a large splash at your location while retreating backward (10s recharge)
  5.Bucket Minion – summon a skritt to hold a balloon bucket (60s recharge)

• Places a table on the ground that you and other players could interact and use.
• Give you the option to have a 1 minute Bobblehead buff or 1 hr.
• Everything around you appears to have Bobblehead.
• Unlimited uses, click the table again to remove the buff.
• Works in sPvP, WvW, dungeons and sticks around when you die. Buff disappears when you change map.

Hey everyone the gemstore was updated an hour ago with the much anticipated Ancestral Outfit for 700 gems and also a mini jaguar for 400 gems.

• It is an outfit that covers your entire armor, can be used in combat
• Can be dyed, cannot mix/match with other armor pieces
• Unlocked for entire account, can use on all characters without using transmutation charges.
• Male charrs get a dragon on their tail.
