About LS content.

in Living World

Posted by: eekzie.5640

eekzie.5640

Some notes.

- There’s been a lot more updates that did not involve zerging. Dungeons/fractals/dynamic events/super adventure box/gauntlet/marionette/Scarlet fights
- You only have to log in for the new LS to get it for free. So you don’t have to play it to unlock it.
- You don’t have to get the best gear with best runes and best everything. All of the content is doable with exotics or less.
- There’s been a lot more story on different outlets than in game. They acknowledge this is an issue and are trying to incorporate it into the new Living Story Panel. Especially for players like you so you can easily catch up with what happened.
- Paying for the content is optional. If you don’t think it’s worth it, don’t buy it.
Heck, you can even hop along with someone who has it unlocked!
- Like you said, there hasn’t been too much permanent content added and they are already indicating this will change with the upcoming living story.

Now as far as not knowing where the game is going, I agree.
They have to deliver with LS2 as there’s been a lot of critique for LS1.

The issue here is your attitude Seifer.

If you wan’t to change what people use, you don’t insult them and tell them they suck.
You give them advice. Sway them with knowledge.

Then if they don’t want to, move on.

Actually was him who started yelling in teamchat about interrupting ele (Again with a/s-lb war) after he dropped in 3 secs flat instead of trying to stomp the downed engi to rally him. (Btw he already got a “shut the kitten up noob” straight from our thief even before i could answer him because i was just trying to keep up 1v2) You’re bad…fine. You’re using worthless greatsword (Maybe just because you want to show off your pve legendary noone cares about)…ok…fine. But complaining in chat saying nonsense while i was actually trying to get you rezzed because you sucked so much….no that’s enough. And i was way too kind anyway…just trying to make him realize gs wars are not really suited for decent pvp..

At this point being full toxic is the only way i suppose

I don’t see why it would matter who starts being toxic.
You’ll see on the long run that you’ll not achieve much if anything with it and it will only make your own gaming experience worse.

Exclusive =/= hard.

No, you’re wrong. The more scarce (exclusive) something is and the greater demand there is to have it, the more effort will have to be put out to acquire it, in order to outdo the efforts of everyone else who didn’t get it.

Simple example:

I give out 5 miniatures to random people in the game. They are account bound.
These are now the most exclusive items in the game.
Were they hard to obtain for them? No.

There are plenty of things where there is a great demand, and great effort, but there’s no actual skill required to achieve it. Perfect example is one you’ve already given.
The chaos of lyssa is not hard to obtain. It’s really easy.
Why is it exclusive? Because of low drop rates. It is not hard to get. Simply buy it off the TP.

The difference in the ToL and the HoH was that the ToL is a temporary event.
The actual difficulty from getting the miniature here is the setup of the event. Only ‘x’ amount of people can get it. It is not a time constriction like for certain miniatures.

You’ve also given good examples of a miniature that was fairly difficult to obtain. For several reasons: time contstraint, limited drop rates and you have to have a top score. The only limit there was how often the event occured. And here lies the issue with the ToL. If they give out the lama every time, it’s not special for the top players. So it doesn’t seem to be reoccuring. And on top of that, the ToL limits people to set up a party of other people. And since we don’t know how the rewards will be handled, it could end up being really easy to obtain for the parties that got into the ToL. And if you’re too late? Tough luck.

So all in all I think it’s a very bad reward for the people who get it.
And it’s a bad item for the people who want it but can’t get it.
Too many restrictions on something that shouldn’t have it in my opinion.

@Hannah

There’s plenty people who do not fall under the category of who you describe.
The ‘’learning curve’’ does not apply to everyone, and that is mostly for a simple reason.
You seem to think that mechanical skill = learning curve. But there’s a lot more to it than that. Learning how the game works is the biggest issue that we’re discussing here. Not so much that people can’t perform well.

I do have to note that so far every piece of content I’ve played through was easy to medium in difficulty at most. The more ‘’hard-core’’ events right now, such as Tequatl and the Three Headed Wurm, are in a state where they aren’t hard. It’s just organising and knowledge that is the issue. Either you don’t have enough people willing to cooperate, or they don’t know what is expected of them. That is not to say they can’t do it or they can’t learn how to do it.

@OP

Biggest issue I have right now is poor display of what’s going on.
Ask people what the visual difference between a symbol of protection or symbol of wrath is. I doubt anyone will know.
This puts combat more into a state where you expect certain things from certain people. For instance: I expect a guardian to give me aegis to block important attacks.
Like in CoE, when you’re trying to burn down the Destroyer boss in one attempt. There’s a ’’Dragon’s Tooth’’ falling from the sky that does knockdown. Plenty of guardians I’ve been don’t know this. And plenty of people I’ve given aegis don’t realise they don’t need to dodge.

~Snip~

I remember in the beginning of the game people were complaining about precursors being way too expensive. 50 – 100 gold for one. It was an unrealistic goal and pretty much everything you summed up applied back then as it does now.

Certain things were easier to obtain, not only because there was less demand but because of them being too easy to farm or too little use for them.
For instance, the T6 materials are now used for account bound legendaries.
Ascended items are now also account bound.
Thus, people have way more incentive to go for them. Thus increasing the demand after the supply has been put on a fair place. This is simply just a swing in the supply/demand curve. Not that there’s too much money coming into the game.
Same thing applies for precursors.

Like John said, it is much more your personal perspective rather than a wide perspective by everyone in the game. As he also said, this is what the charts also indicate.

I don’t get this obsession from Anet to make ’’exclusive’’ miniatures.
There’s loads of people who collect them. They even pay gems to collect them.
You’re just giving them the boot.

I honestly would not have an issue with a limited PvP reward track to give out an exclusive miniature that’s only available for 2 weeks.
I don’t see the correlation between miniatures and PvP though.

So exclusive minis are bad because then minipet collectors will have a hard time collecting all the minis, but exclusive skins are fine because nobody cares about skin collectors. Or maybe it could be an exclusive title, because nobody cares about title collectors. Or maybe it could be an exclusive tonic, because nobody cares about tonic collectors. Minipets are of course the only thing that anyone could ever collect in this game and it is such a travesty that an exclusive prize would be a minipet instead of any other thing in the game, which couldn’t possibly be collected.

You wouldn’t have a problem with a PvP track only available for two weeks because that’s doable with time and effort and has nothing to do with scarcity and demand for skill.

Whining is easier than winning.

Exclusive =/= hard.
It’s already impossible for a lot of people to collect all skins. For a variety of reasons.
Therefor adding one more to an already incomplete collection isn’t as bad as the miniature.
Give them an exclusive statue. Name a skin after them. Name a miniature after them.
Do something that does not conflict with what people like to do in your game.
The reason people care so much about the miniatures has a long history dating back to GW1. There’s a very good reason why people like collecting them.

Giving a special finisher for instance would not be that big of deal, simply for the fact that there’s very little thought behind ‘’collecting finishers’’.

I also wouldn’t mind a hard miniature to get in PvP. Like, really hard.
Look back to how GW1 handled this. The miniature Ghostly Hero had a chance of dropping after winning in the Hall of Heroes.

TL:DR
You totally missed the point. Miniature collecting should be hard. Should not be exclusive to participating in random one time events. That doesn’t mean it’s hard. It means it’s put behind a wall.

So, on the drawing board… lets talk rewards.
Exclusive reward for PvP tournament?
- Oh, that sounds interesting. Like what did you have in mind?
Miniatures.
- Not exclusive PvP skins or cool things related to PvP?
No. Miniatures.
- Why?
Exclusive. Miniatures.
- What?

That’s literally how I imagine it to go. I can’t fathom any reason why they chose for this reward. And I don’t even collect/care about miniatures.
I don’t mind exclusive miniatures, whether by completing a limited event or something along those lines… but they have to be reasonable achievable to make collecting miniatures worth it. I honestly would not have an issue with a limited PvP reward track to give out an exclusive miniature that’s only available for 2 weeks.

Thief for – Single target damage / stealth
Guardian for – Protection / blocks / heal / might / reflect / condition removal
Mesmer for – Aoe and single target damage / reflects / condition removal

As far as ‘’best dps classes’‘, right now you’re best off in a well coordinated party

Aside from that generally you’d want one warrior, one ele, one mesmer.
Thief can’t really replace any of them as far as party utility goes, but can still deal fine single target damage and fill in the last spot.

They’re fine for fractals, but you don’t really see people looking for them.

72hour isn’t that bad when you can just go hot join. It kind of sucks for people that have unstable internet that get DC’d often.

I have bad internet days too, and here is a little advice that will do great things;

If you know you have bad internet, and you know you will make the experience uncomfortable for 9 other people, as well as yourself, do yourself and everyone else a favor; Do not queue. As simple as that. Fix the issue, once its working again: queue.

I have great internet so it isn’t an issue for me but those people paid money for the game. They have every right to queue up for a ranked game. Why do they have too limit their game modes because of an unreliable ISP? What’s next? If you have a high ping and are more susceptible to die from lag then you shouldn’t be allowed to queue cause you are slowing your team down?

No, then you will have lower ranking to compensate for the lag.

If you make the game unejoyable for others you should be punished. Whether that’s by leaving/disconnecting and ruining a matchup or by calling people names.
Oh but I paid money so I should be able to swear. That sounds rediculous.
They are different kind of situations ofcourse, but you get the geste.

I would love for there to be 3 different save functions. One for PvE, one for WvW and one for PvP. Firstly the pages would look similar to what the current equipment page looks like. There will be a button where you can manage your templates.
- Load from Templates
- Save to Templates
- Template Code

What do you actually save?
Ideally you would save everything combat related.
You will save them to a new tab under ‘’Skills and Traits’’ called ’’Templates’’.
Under this tab you can manage your templates that you saved.
The templates themselve will save into a notepad in your Guild Wars 2 file. Same fashion as GW1 did it.

But, to make them useful I would love for the system to give you ‘’template bags’‘. In these slots you can save your equipment that is then assigned to that specific ’’bag’’. Kind of like how many people suggested saving/switching trait pages would work. You will still have to carry the equipment in your normal inventory to load that template.

What do you actually load?
Once you load from a template it will try to select the equipment from your inventory that is as close to your template as possible.
For instance, let’s say you have saved: “Berserker Iron Sword of Serpent Slaying”
It will then load accordingly in this order: Sword, Highest Rarity, Stats, Sigil

How do you view other people’s Templates?
If you click someone linking his template, you open it under your new ’’Templates’’ tab. It views everything that the person saved, and there you can choose to save it.

Now, how would all of this look?
I made 2 examples. One for PvE/WvW and one for PvP.
Each of these modes would have their own slots. In my example I gave 3 icons, but it would have to be a lot more ofcourse.

I just wish Legendaries 2.0 are account bound to show players are accomplishing something rather than 1 click on TP to get it.

Don’t want to sound too sarcastic, that’s not my point at all, but to get 2000-3000 gold is quite an accomplishment, isn’kitten I hate farming, I do totally have utmost respect to those who crafted their legendaries, but I was doing a lot in order to overcome my hatred towards farming in order to collect 3000 gold for my legendary. More than farming I hate crafting, so I hope you do understand me.

I stand corrected, making your own legendaries is much more fun and less grind than straight up farming for 2000-3000 gold. You get to explore the world maps, kill tons of people in wvw for badges. Beside people rather rmt 3000g than farm for gold nowaday.

Edit: I still don’t get why Ascended gears are account bound and not Legendaries.

Except that legendaries are account bound.

Combo Fields?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: eekzie.5640

eekzie.5640

Static field is an important sorce of swiftness for medium sized zergs where you dont have 20 staff guards alone spamming their symbol all the time. The same goes for speedstacking in dungeons. For example the underwater fractal before the dolphin part. You also cant override other combo fields since the combo field layed down first is the one that counts. If anything you can annoy them by laying down a wrong combo field first where should have been put a better one.

-

on a condition build this one second burn is like 600 added damage through nothing but a secondary effect on a projectile alone. Its not insane but its definitely not laughable. The second part doesnt make sense, they all work in pve and you can use them, just dont expect to break world records (like with many other things as well)

Static field is not an important source of swiftness. It is an easy source of swiftness. That’s why it’s used. Convenience. Same goes for the guardian skill.

And the fields can be disrupted. That’s big enough of a flaw.

The 600 damage burn on a condition build on a projectile creating character aiming through the field having 20% chance to actually get the 600 damage.
Right. I’m not laughing. I’m crying.

Projectile finishers are weak because they are easily spammable.
A third of all combo fields being viable for dungeon speedclears is also not bad at all(But more situational light, not water at all) since most are designed for pvp

I simply do not care about projectile finishers at all in this game. The effects are so negligible that I’ve never tried to get this effect. The amount of effort needed to create the situation has more of a negative effect than the benefits it gives.

I would say for dungeons only using blast finishers on fire fields is always useful.
This comes down to 1/45th of the skill combination being useful.
And that 3/45 combos are worth the time.

This doesn’t really seem that good at all.

Most cases, as in pretty much anything that’s not a firefield + blast combination.
Or the situational blind/stealth.

What, combo fields are an essential part in the high end of every aspect in the game.
Be it fire and smoke fields in dungeons, Water and static fields in wvw or any existing fields in spvp

Static field is a usefull skill for CC. The combo field it provides is not, mainly because swiftness can come from guardian skills now.
Light, dark, ethereal, ice, lightning and poison are in a pretty terrible position right now imo. As well as leap/projectile/whirl finishers in general. Blasting is soooo much more important than any of the others.

The problem this causes is that if I place a field on top of yours it has a significant negative impact.

If you don’t stare at your sell order all the time, you won’t be frustrated by things like this. The best real-life market advice I have ever gotten was ‘set and forget’, when you item sells eventually you are 100% free of the feelings that caused you to make your post.

That only works if you don’t need CASH now. I mean I can’t just go up and call JG Wentworth annuity payments instead.

The point being sell and forget only works for people who are rich enough to not need more in the short term. Most players are not in that position.

So make a better assessment of when an item will sell.

It’s really as simple as that, if you want to sell an item faster you will sell it for less.
That’s how it works.

You can either wait for a higher buy offer and fulfill it, or simply put up a sell offer so low that you expect it to sell fast.

Or in other words: stop being greedy if you don’t want to get undercut

That’s only for match-ups.

Additionally, the skins say a couple of things: this player is a veteran player, and they completed an event way-back-when. Re-releasing them is a bit ordinary, as it diminishes the rarity of the skins. Someone who’s only played the game for two days shouldn’t be running around with, for example, the fervid censor backpiece that I had to earn by doing a meta-event.

I like this design direction. The solo – to hell with everyone else – players will eventually fall off and the people looking for this kind of thing will have a game we really enjoy. It isnt for everyone, but I like what theyre doing.

No, the people who don’t want to organise it every single time because nobody else is putting in any effort will fall off. Which will leave it to: organised guilds/groups or simply failing the event.

The Crown Pavillion

in Festival of the Four Winds

Posted by: eekzie.5640

eekzie.5640

So here’s my take on The Crown Pavillion, and why I don’t like it.

The bosses themselves are actually quite fun, they have some new updated mechanics and are reasonably challenging. As in, you can’t just run up and auto attack with a couple dodges. So that’s good!

Now here’s the part what I don’t like.
Organisation.

Simply that. At this point of the game you have to set up an organised server. Even though the event can be done easily (silver or gold) in every server I’ve been in.
Now why is that? Because organisation sucks when you’re on your own. I can’t hop on and enjoy or organise it. There’s too many people who go achievement hunting or simply don’t listen. And even if you get to organise it, you have to explain the fights to people. I don’t mind explaining it once or twice… but you have to do it every single time you want to do it… And we all know how well people listen, so often you’ll have to explain it multiple times in a single fight. Oh, and there’s likely people who don’t even speak English now. Or there’s simply people who don’t want to put in any effort. And again, you’re stuck to trying to find and organise a server who does want to put in at least some effort… This just leaves me extremely frustrated and makes me just simply not want to do it at all.

So in short:
The events are more of an organise and explain challenge, rather than a fun fight that it could’ve been.

What I would like:

After the donation phase, you need to stand in a circle (a lá Commander Siegerazer) and once every circle is filled with 10 people (arbitrary number), it kicks off the event.
This way you’re certain every boss is being done.

Trying to split people up with rewarding mechanics is good. But the game has too many aspects to let it simply rely on that. I don’t see it working in a megaserver where there’s people who want to kill it, people who afk, people who don’t care, people who go for achievements.

I do think that it’d be nice to have a Living Story revolve around sPvP.

  • except for the TA path ofcourse.

My question is did anyone who posted hate against Liadri beat her? I’ve seen plenty of people on the forums against the OP and similar OP’s who enjoyed her, like myself.
On a side note I beat her with a staff guardian only while using a shout condi cleanse build, not specced for DPS. Continue please.

Hehe, I kind of did the same.
Beat her mostly with retaliation.
It was definitely not a dps race.
More of a ‘if you don’t do anything but walk around in circles too long then you fail’ kind of thing.

The bosses were awesome fights.
The camera wasn’t as bad as people make it out to be, you could easily work around it.
Sure, it’d be a lot better if there weren’t issues with it.
And for people who complain about zerg lagg, sorry but get a better gaming station.
I’ve played with a 4 year old laptop on lowest settings in a full map and it was fine.
The floor was memorisable and added to the difficulty.
You could disable the flashes, I do agree those were just horrible.
Can’t range the orbs? Use AoE. Again, even though it might or might not be game design, it was making it more interesting. I don’t see it as a bad point.

All in all, came down to trying it a dozen times to master yourself. And that is what I missed, and what the gauntlet brought me. All the con’s don’t even slightly come close to that in my opinion.

The whole point of these re-occuring events is that they are temporary.

Compare it with an amusement park. If the ride is always available to you, after going for a couple runs it’s not that appealing anymore. Where if it’s open for a short time every month you’d like to go there every month.

And, to me, it seemed that S1 was a lot of us testing rides. See which ones we liked. And the ones we didn’t like got removed. Even though some of the popular rides also got removed here, which is sad.

I don’t think things such as the gauntlet or SAB would be suitable for a permanent addition to the game.

I do agree there needs to be more suitable content added that’s always accesible.

Do you have a Superior Rune of the Krait in your Aqua Breather as well?

I love that I am not completely realiable on another person here.
That means so much to me, and it’s the biggest reason why I love GW2.

Gone with the days where an instance would take 3 hours instead of 30 minutes because your tank doesn’t know how to aggro, or because your healer doesn’t know how to position, or your dps does no damage per second.

Where should GW2 be heading?

- Stat balance
Make conditions as viable as zerkers when they spec for full damage. Specifically in PvE this is needed.
There’s several ways to achieve this. My personal preference:
So first of all I would love to specify should make bezerker damage different from condition damage. Condition damage is flat, as in a constant stream of damage (bleed ticks for 300 damage every second). Bezerker damage is fluctuating damage. (100 – 300 – 500 in 3 hits over 3 seconds).
If you look at how you can increase condition damage, it is simply lacking.
You can use: Condition damage (and might) and condition duration. That’s it.
Bezerkers can use: Power ( and might), Precision, Ferocity.
The biggest issue here is that all the stats of a bezerker amplify eachother.
You don’t really achieve this with condition builds right now.
I would love a rework to power to give it some sort of amplification to condition specs as well. My idea would be to add the ‘’weapon damage’’ to the total damage pool of the condition damage you would deal.
Easier to show what I mean in an example

Scepter auto attack on a necro now does this:
Blood Curse – Damage: 204 – Bleeding(6s) 471 Damage
Rending Curse – Damage: 204 – Bleeding(6s) 471 Damage
Putrid Curse – Damage: 292 – Poison(4s) 624 Damage

What I would want the Scepter auto attack to do:
Blood Curse – Damage: 204 – Bleeding(6s) 471 +202 Damage
Rending Curse – Damage: 204 – Bleeding(6s) 471 +204 Damage
Putrid Curse – Damage: 292 – Poison(4s) 624 +292 Damage

This way, you can utilize your power just as efficient on a condition necromancer as on a bezerker warrior.

- New skills
Give weapons skills to choose from. To keep it ’’easily’’ balanced, give each slot 2 weapon skills to choose from. Then when they are in a good state, go to 3 choices per weapon slot. It is essential that you keep them bound to the slot so that balance won’t be too big of an issue.
First things first, I would love to see more Elite Skills. I feel these would add the most to gameplay.

- New legendaries
Greater variety of legendaries. I have the hunch this is already in the working and will be related to the new way to obtain pre-cursors. All I can say is I’m looking forward to it. PvE tracks rewarding you with a pre-cursor of your choice in the end would be awesome! One track to choose a specific rifle-precursor box at the end? Use it to make the new legendary or The Predator. I’m really looking forward to this, and the sooner the better. Heck, why not tie it into the Living Story season 2? Make it an epic adventure to go through your reward track and get pre-legendary loot!

- Skill Balance
I would love to get more statistics here.
For instance, least used skills should be made more interesting.
Some skills sadly serve no purpose. Such as Signet of Mercy.
That’s my biggest concern.
I feel individual topics would cover the more problematic issues better regarding utility skills.
But please, get a topic up for each specific weapons for each profession.
Take a good look at how each specific skill functions, and how to make more skills as usable as others. There’s several weapons that need some love.

And on a small sidenote, perhaps show people in wvw with basic weapons and no backpieces when you use ‘’Best Performance’’. Thanks for reading!

- Horizontal Progression
Stats are a possibility, but not in the way of replacing gear.
Ascended gear should never be replaced. But, you could think of adding an additional slot for ascended gear. Another slot for a special ring that increases a certain condition damage in PvE? Definitely a lot of possibilities / cool stuff to come up with.
Do more of what people like! Upgrading an item multiple times, according to what I’ve seen, is what people love. Spinal backpiece and the fractal backpack as examples.
Another possibility would be ‘’the more you use something, the better it becomes’‘. This could be tied in to exploration / new zones.
What I don’t want: watch out for power creep. Ascended already snuck a bit of overpoweredness in. As I said, this is manifesting itself more heavily in downscaled content with ferocity.

- Combat
More emphasis on how combat works. Offer more custimization (to tone down effects). Less ‘’on hit’’ effects, these clutter vision too much. The marionette is an example of something that worked really well.

For players I would personally love a lot more colors/shapes to distinguish certain area of effect. Some examples:
Things that work well: Sanctuary / Wall of Reflection / Feedback / Portal / Banners
Things that don’t work well: Hallowed Ground / Null Field / Healing Spring / Wells

For monsters: More emphasis on telegraphing of boss attacks. These offer the best gameplay I’ve experienced in any boss fights. Make it obvious what the boss is doing, what you need to do, but keep it challenging.
Less ‘’one hit KO’’ mechanics.
Take Mai Trinn for example. Her own attacks are not telegraphed enough, but the shots from Horrick are. It’s obvious what you need to do, but it’s not too easy. No one shot KO’s, but you’re being spammed with damage and conditions while maneuvering.

- Class balance
I’m totally open for a new way to approach class balance. Right now I feel that a lot of the tweaks and modifications are minor and are pushing classes closer to eachother, but the tempo at which this is happening is too slow for a lot of people.
I hope to see the CDI on professions have shed more light on what the community wants. But, I would like to see this realised by more drastic changes. Heck, let’s go crazy and double the damage of a ranger with a longbow. If it’s too strong, tone it down. Give that pet a mighty shout, granting swiftness for 3s every 30 seconds to your party.
In other words: I would love it if you were more open to drastic changes and see how the community likes them!

I’m going to start off by saying that this is my personal opinion of where I would like this game to go. There will probably be a lot left out as I’ll try to state the things I would love to see the most. This also means that I will not give full examples of the progression I would like to see to keep things clean.

- Instances
It’s been said before, but playing with people you don’t know can be problematic when something happens to the instance leader. Simple solution: create a new host after the instane leader is no longer in your party. And on top of that let vote kicking require at least 3 votes, considering 4 people can vote, I feel 3 is a better amount to warrant a kick.
Que’ing for a zone should come back. ‘’Join in’’ should redirect you to the que if a map was full. This should solve a lot of the issues people are having when they are doing world events.

- Gemstore
More meaningful items that increases user friendliness.
An example would be a 6 slot bag that you can purchase that is shared amongst all your characters.
No ’’lottery’’ themed items.

- Living World
More impactfulness on the world. Often people come back to the game from a break and ask ’’what’s new? what did I miss?‘’… and sadly now the answer is ’’not much’’. Not because the content was few, but because it was temporary or non-replayable.
For example, the LA events were fun to do. But when I got there after the events, I was done exploring after 15 minutes. Thew new fractals are amazing, but there’s a good possibility a lot of casual people will not get to see them in a timely manner.
The aetherblade path is a good example. Although there’s not a real incentive for replayability.
I feel the story part of the living world has been discussed enough.

- Dungeons
Balance the rewards. Fix the exploits. I can’t stress this enough.
Get a topic up to create the top priority issues in dungeons and address them.
You want the community to know that you’re listening? That’d be a perfect way.
Take a better look at scaling down. Since the ferocity all of the lower level dungeons are too easy. More dungeons that offer interesting rewards and have interesting mechanics. Right now there’s too much of an emphasis on ‘’line of sight’’ in most of the dungeons. This creates boring gameplay and less replayability. So, whenever new dungeons will come around take that in consideration to make for a better experience.

- Fractals
Balance the rewards. Fix the exploits. Same deal, get a topic up in the same fashion as dungeons would get one. The biggest issue right now I feel is that the rewards are too random. You can’t work towards a nice reward, and I feel really sad when I get something I don’t want. Another issue is that fractal relics (prestine and normal) don’t really have any use after you get what you want. In comparisment, you can use dungeon tokens to get rares to salvage or exotics to forge.
The instabilities are not increasingly becoming harder. They are a random mixture of quirky mechanics.
On a side note, there was a preview stream up for the ’’fractured’’ release and a lot what was promised still has to happen. More clarity on this subject would be greatly appreciated. As well as more feedback on the ’’Fractured’’ sub-forum.

- Exploration / New Zones
If there’s going to be new zones they have to have interesting mechanics to them.
Southsun cove is a good example of how not to make a new zone. After the events that happened there, there’s not much reason to go back except for the karka queen.
So, what makes an interesting zone?
Right now we only have: Exploration / Events / Bosses.
Take a look at what worked in other games.
For instance the ‘’Fissure of Woe’’ in Guild Wars 1.
The area was challenging, rewarding, not always accesible*, gave you things to desire, offered a special merchant, interesting enemies/bosses, fun mechanics, surprises and special loot.
Another simple idea you could do is make the whole area transform you into a special being depending on where you are. Go through sand: Wurm, water: Shark, grass: Panther.
But in conclusion: make the area interesting enough for people to come back to.

I agree OP, but I don’t want the things you want.

I want a new expansion with 10 new levels, 5 new zones, and maybe a new prof or race.

The absolute last thing I want is an increase in the level cap. What a big kitty you to people who busted their butt for ascended gear.

Did I say anything about new gear? :0

Increased level cap requires increased level gear. How about trying to run Fractals with level 70 gear, and see how fun that is.

Think he’s referring to something like we see in Diablo 3.
Paragon levels.

After max level you get points per every level you get.
Right now we only get skill points. He wants a system where you would still level up, but no increased gear cap. For instance, if you reach level 90 you get an additional 100 all stats.

Horizontal leveling like that is already seen in fractals in the form of Agony Resistance.

It’s an interesting idea that I personally would like if implemented properly.
