ah yes, some one pointed out that the blog says it only goes up to 50. so yeah… why we need 3billion agony resist again? are they going to make it do more dmg now?
Well it’s already obvious there will be a lot more mechanics with the instability.
I wouldn’t be surprised if agony will be revamped completely as well.
With agony reset you wont be able to play at level 30 either let a lot 50 so what do you care.
I care because I spent at least 4 ecto stacks on my back pieces (granted 2 stacks we’re required) and a kitten load of gold and my time to get up to level 50. So guess what? Now I get to spend more gold and time to level back up to 50 just so I can play the new fractals? kitten that!
Besides according to the devs you won’t lose your current AR
Basically what will happen is your backpiece will receive an AR infusion slot now.
It will be automatically filled with +5.
Lets say you want a new backpiece, you still have to spoon up 250 ectos to get the slot. But, in the future it will not even get the +5. It will be empty.
well since he said it would be a little easier up to 50, im now wondering if there is an above 50, especially since they are adding this seemingly unlimited agony resist, whats it for if 50 is the cap?
What I’m thinking is there will be a lot of changes to the out of order scaling. For instance, mages in the ascalonian fractal. That would make the leveling easier.
But, you will get something in return to make it harder. The instability stuff.
I’m looking forward to the new challenge
And I’m thinking the agony will work in a different way than it does now. Hence a higher level will be needed. But that’s just my speculation.
Yes. 15 characters
You just said you already got compensated in the form of better drops (which there actually is no evidence that suggests your drops are any better other than at the 10, 20, 30 tiers). Now you want extra compensation on top of those better drops in the form of a payment per level. Either your extra levels rewarded you with better drops and you deserve nothing, or your extra levels didn’t provide anything and thus were meaningless and now deserve nothing. There is no scenario here in which your extra levels deserve compensation when they are removed.
Orly?
There’s more posts like that to be found, but I’m too lazy to scoop it up for you.
And I feel the need for a compensation for reseting the levels. Doing higher levels took more time / skill / attention / etc. And you got rewarded for that. You didn’t get much of a reward for leveling up to 50. You got a reward for doing high levels, not for getting there.
That’s the key point, getting compensation for the leveling. Not for missing out on previous loot or whatever.
The whole game is endgame. The only difference is you stop leveling.
There isn’t any difference from before.
You could hop in a level 48 fractal with a character that had level 1 rewards before.
The only thing that’s removed now is the grind towards a high level for multiple characters.
The only people I feel sorry for are the ones who recently leveled up characters to a high level.
People who had multiple characters leveled have had plenty time to reap the benefits of doing so.
What I don’t get is why people proclaim level > 50 resets to be more meaningful. You weren’t supposed to go higher than 50 in the first place. Seems like a fix rather than anything else to me.
I think we should get 2g per fractal level resetted.
Accept fotm difficulty is exponential. there fore g will be exponential and destroy the economy what is 2^50 power. 80-30=50. If anyting I agree there should be a title fractal master or something for those who actually got to 80 or some amount.
I honestly don’t expect (or would appreciate it if) people who exploited their way above 50 to get rewarded for it.
So lets say you have a +7 AR Infusion.
You place it in the slot for AR in your ring.
Now, you want to upgrade it.
Do you have to start from scratch?
Do you have to use a gemstore item (presumably upcoming upgrade splitter).
What’s going on here?
Doesn’t seem like you’ll need it.
We don’t know how the new agony is going to work.
Considering the new infusion slots will have more potential
‘’It goes very, very high.’’
Seems to me the current slots will suffice for enough vertical progression.
Levels over 30 didn’t give you any benefit, so you aren’t losing anything when they change your meaningless rank into a meaningful one.
Yes, they did give significant benefits. Having multiple characters at 50 was useful in case your team needed different professions. Even the chests at the end of the first three fractal levels were significantly different. I’ve done plenty level 48’s on a level 1 character (and switching at the maw to my 50), and there is a clear difference.
The reward is probably going to be everything you get progressing back up to 50
If you remained at your current level (with max of 50), then you could still do this regardless. That’s not a reward. It’s being put back in the treadmill without any compensation.
It’s because they added a leaderboard. If you love fractals enough to get to 50 without any decent rewards, I’m sure you’ll have no problem doing it again with decent stuff flying at you as a result. Resetting everyone 30+ to level 30 for a chance at a top spot in the leaderboard is fair.
I personally don’t see the point to all these leaderboards, but I guess enough people do to warrant their existance. In any case, it was done to make a level starting position for those to climb the ranks again. We will all live.
Getting to level 50 was not because it gave kittenty rewards, it was because it gave a better chance at fractal skins. Significantly better. As well as more exotics, more relics, more karma, more rares, more T6 mats.
I’ll not pass judgement on the leaderboard. Cause right now to me it seems like everyone will get to 50 and the leaderboard will be useless. Only thing I can imagine is ‘’who plays the most leaderboards’’… which is still useless.
The reward is probably going to be everything you get progressing back up to 50
If you remained at your current level (with max of 50), then you could still do this regardless. That’s not a reward. It’s being put back in the treadmill without any compensation.
It does seem quite lame you just get reset without getting anything in return.
Especially for people with multiple level 50’s for instance.
I honestly don’t care about people who exploited their way to get level 50+. It was obvious you weren’t supposed to do this.
Perhaps give people some kind of reward for every level from 30 – 50 they had?
Would seem like a reasonable solution to sooth some of the hatred.
Yep and here lies a Catch 22 problem that we have to solve right? (Yes i know Catch 22 inherently can’t be solved, but nothing is impossible with GW2!)
I think feedback can be commented on, without giving the whole game away. I think questions can be asked and answered without giving the game away to. The problem is it just isn’t good for us to talk about specific work in progress before we are confident about it. So i suggest we ask questions and feedback on any areas of the game but don’t go into specifics regarding development of said items?
This is something we should discuss more in this thread.
Chris
The issue I’d like to raise here is that you’re also not talking about specific work that’s not so much in progress anymore. Like, perhaps a week or two before it goes live I would guess most of the things are already finalised to a point where discussion could take place?
Or am I wrong here?
I think this is an idea worth discussion for sure. But i have a question:
Would in game polls affect the immersion for the player?
Chris
To me it’d really depend on how the questions would be asked, what the topic would be and the choise of answers.
For instance, if you get a poll after beating a boss in the middle of a dungeon… that would be indeed immersion breaking. If you would get a poll after finishing it, it’d be a nice way to see what people think. That way, you get the answer from people who played that content. You could also put certain parameters to that (i.e. play through all paths of the dungeon, or complete the same path 3 times).
Now what I would love personally is that we could perhaps comment on the idea that you want to implement. Let’s say the account wallet. I feel if there’d been the kind of collaboration you are now trying to establish it’d be a much better feature. It came on top of my mind because you can’t deposit prestine relics in there (which at the time seemed like an obvious thing). And now, with all the new crafting materials that really soak up inventory space and that I keep having to throw away… it feels like the feature again is not living up to it’s potential.
So it’d be nice if we can say what we absolutely don’t want in advance… or what’s missing instead of having to give you feedback afterwards.
And here the forums could absolutely shine. As you could give us the exact reasons why stuff is going to happen the way it is (as it’s not far away in the pipeline), and it’s still subject to easy last minute adjustments.
We definitely listened to the feedback surrounding CP and were aware there would be some concern before we deployed the content. We weighed up the pros and cons and went with it.
We will be offering a lot more player choice moving forward but have certainly learnt lessons from CP. We want the players to not just shape the social aspects of Tyria but the world itself. This is a topic i can’t go into more detail on currently.
Chris
This is what I mean exactly in my previous post in this topic. Thanks for taking your time by the way, I appreciate it.
And now you bring up the pro’s and con’s…
I can list a bunch of stuff here that you’ve also thought about.
But the biggest issues that are still left unanswered is why you would couple two completely unrelated choises together and just force people to make a bad decision?
And why do you let people who wouldn’t care about specific content choose it?
I’ve heard dozens of people who don’t do fractals, or don’t feel strong about them. Yet, they get to choose for people who care deeply about it.
I’ve just picked one topic here where I feel ArenaNet completely missed out on an awesome idea. And I’m sad to say that your response doesn’t really give me hope for a better future. And that’s a whole nother issue that seems to linger around which I could go on about for a long time.
(edited by eekzie.5640)
/respect
Also, I’m not sure if I should direct this onto you and the question is a bit outdated…
But I’ve felt a really strong resentment towards the Cutthroat Politics.
Mostly because the fractals were connected to something else to vote on.
To me it felt like you could vote on Spaghetti with Yoghurt or Curry dish with Soup.
I’m afraid that the choises the in game player base will get in the future will be a lot like this. Whereas people who simply don’t like yoghurt will now vote for the other combination. And I feel that it’s a very limited choise that way.
Could you perhaps share some of the philosophy behind that whole catastophy I call Cutthroat Politics?
I feel that a lot of the negativity around the forum really comes from ArenaNet only reading posts. Yes, it’s a more effective way to go through the forums and get feedback. But, I don’t think it’s the best way. A lot of good idea’s I’ve seen come forth were through indeed collaboration. Conversation. And that includes the people from ArenaNet on the forum.
Now, we’ve already heard for quite some time the issue is being addressed… and to me it does seem like the amount of dev posts have gone up. But, when there was true collaboration on the SAB… we see someone getting truly burned down by ArenaNet.
All I would direly wish to see is more explaining why certain things can, can’t and will or won’t be implemented. Often enough you’ll only see these reactions to something that we’ve already been informed about. For instance, when the account wallet was announced I saw a dozen of dev posts explaining what was already explained in the original announcement. But, when there were questions that weren’t explained in the announcement you rarely saw an answer.
All in all it just seems the communication part from ArenaNet is extremely filtered to give a bunch of generic replies. A lot of thought behind updates is left to guess. And on top of that, there’s so much vague stuff going on that people are left in the dark. For instance, there’s been a lot of fus and some big cry outs about the Bloodlust giving out stats. All I’ve seen is what came down to ’we’re thinking about it’.
I really do appreciate this topic, and I do feel ArenaNet listens. Now all I would like on top of that is that we can also listen to you. Cause now it feels like talking to a brick wall a lot of the times.

Thanks, as always, for the feedback.
And thank you guys for not having a fight with scarlet where she just escapes randomly after you kill her. That was some class A lamesauce. Twice.
Take a look at your support account.
If there are no replies within 3 days of the ticket, I would suggest taking a look here
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/Tickets-for-Review-3-days-and-older-merged
We hadn’t logged on for like a week and then get banned :/
File a support ticket if you haven’t done anything wrong.
The moment of your login and the place where you were during the suspension don’t really say anything.
ANY boss finished the boss week dailies. It didn’t have to be a dragon, or Teq. To complete the Boss Week achieves you never even have to SEE teq. Just collect the items, and fight 1 boss every day. That could be the Fire Elemental, or the Golem, or the Maw Shaman. Need I continue? Now if you don’t mind, how about you go somewhere were you DO know what your talking about and harass those nice people instead. Obviously you didn’t get screwed, so why do you care anyway?
Except that you are wrong.
There were 2 different dailies, one where you could fight any world boss and one specific to tequatl. So basically you could get 7/9 without ever doing stuff related to tequatl.
Enter dungeon → Invite people
???
Problem solved
Best
1. Fractals
2. SAB
3. Rose backpieces
4. Gauntlet
5. Bazaar
Worst
1. Skins locked away the Black Lion Chests
1. Kill [x], find [x], smash [x] achievements
1. Cutthroat politics voting linked to Black Lion Keys
2. Flame & Frost (exception of the dungeon)
3. Temporary Dungeons
4. Scattered storyline
5. Scarlet
Special notice: Too many small updates, looking for something of higher quality and bigger quantity at one go.
What I would absolutely want is missions. GW1 Style.
Best way to tell story. I feel that the ‘’story dungeons’’ were actually good ways of trying to get the lore across, but that it was lost in transition as you could keep on going with your personal story line. If they added those 2 together, the personal story line would’ve been so much better for me. The current dungeon has somewhat of a resemblence, as you can do additional stuff besides the main dungeon for achievements. It’s absolutely lovely.
And please for the love of God, if you’re trying to have a kind of ’’joker’’, at least give us a reason not to kill us. Her escaping ’cause she feels like it is just random, lame and pathetic.
(edited by eekzie.5640)
The que time is so absurd because people are using other ways of getting in before ‘’the que pops’‘. This to skip que’ing all together. The que only pops when for instance 20 spots are available (I don’t know exact numbers). While ‘’Join In [xxx]’’ will let you in earlier.
I’ve succeeded getting in full servers every time after tequatl has been slain, as plenty people leave.
(edited by eekzie.5640)
Wait……………… I’m on Desolation, can’t get out of overflow………..
Getting in the server we were doing it on did prove a challenge.
Best advise I can give you: try joining after Tequatl was killed.
Glad we could help!
We will continue helping people getting the achievements and getting Teq down. Though what servers we organize on may change.
Yeah, I’ve completed it on Desolation, Vabbi, Ruins of Surmia and in an overflow with you guys now
It’s been a real pleasure doing Tequatl with you several times.
Just completed the last achievement with you, and it’s been a total blast.
Doing it the way it’s supposed to be done really shows how fun of a boss it is.
Big shoutout to the 180 people on teamspeak
Else everyone can just afk the achievement (and would also promote doing that for the achievements)
here is the video of Tequatl being killed with 4:40 mins left. Desolation server people on Ruins of Surmia
Huzzah sum1 did record it
He spammed that he was streaming it multiple times
Many Commanders are not good leaders and would use this ability to put guildmates on the turrets.
I’d rather have 6 less experienced people on turrets, than 5 experienced and 1 troll.
Just saying.
The 2 skill isn’t the be and end all of the skill of using a turret. if all you do is spam 2 on recharge you’re denying the attempt increased DPS and condition removal.
2 and 3 are vital to survival of the zerg.
Maybe something along the lines of cleansing once every 30 seconds or get booted for 3 minutes.
You should try to get in right after the tequatl encounter. At that point most people will move out of the main server. It will quickly fill up however. So if you don’t fit in the first batch of people who made it in, it’ll most likely be another tequatl later for you.
It is sad, but ANet really should keep trolls in mind for future content. Really hard content should be instanced if you asked me. Maybe.
You’ve already seen people resorting to this tactic.
Vabbi had 5 people doing the event. Then, people got together in that server to do it and it was completely filled up.
I was in an overflow specifically sought out to have as least people in it. Then, we completely filled it up with people who wanted to kill him.
It takes 15 minutes to do it. If you win, you get massive rewards. If you lose, well tough luck, you lost 15 minutes.
What’s the problem?
It takes a lot of preperation getting everyone together to defeat him.
There’s another 6 minutes defending the lasers.
And the reward is daily.
Tequatl really needs better loot to be done on a more consistent base.
There’s really only one issue I have with Tequatl right now.
That is that 100+ people rely on 6 people on turrets.
Now I would love if they added 2 or 3 turrets.
Ofcourse, the scales would have to stack a tad bit faster to compensate.
But I feel this would solve a lot of problems for majority of the large organised groups.
That being said, I just finished tequatl with 1 minute left and I thoroughly enjoyed doing it. Kind of reminds me of Elite Missions in GW1 where you needed a lot of cooperation and preperation.
I would love for all previous events and achievements to be available, alongside with a whole new addition of festive events
(edited by eekzie.5640)
Alright, so we’re going to be seeing Ascended Armor this year.
Now, that’s super cool. And it’s definitely something I’ll be working towards obtaining.
The issue I have here, is that somewhere in the future I’m sure we’ll be seeing Legendary Armor. And that would make the previous armor obsolete.
Now what I would like to propose, is that instead of Legendary Armor requiring a precursor of sorts… it would require a piece of ascended armor.
This way, you can use what you’ve already worked for and turn it into something even more epic. Your ascended shoulders that you’ve cherished will now become your Legendary Shoulders, with an even greater skin.
Now I understand that these things are not in the near future, but I would hope that they’d stick in your mind long enough for them to flourish into realisation one day.
Try contacting support, they’ve fixed item deletion before. Not sure if it’s possible with the tonic though.
The main problem for most people is that there were too many death pits, which if you screwed up by getting knocked off by assassins for instance would instantly kill you. Where in world 1 you could get knocked down, but you could just get right back up.
Then, alongside with that, were too many new mechanics that really didn’t have a place where you could get used to them. In bigger and longer levels.
Not so much bad designing, just a bit over enthousiastic.
All in all I still love world 2. And on top of that: certain things don’t work too well with the mechanics of an action mmo…
I was planning on spending money on buying character slots, but due to a fortunate bug when I was trying out the gemstore and purchasing a slot, I got 5 instead of 1. That was a while back.
After that, I’ve mostly bought stuff with Gems that I got with Gold.
Until they add something worth buying (like quaggan hats that you can use in combat), I’ll not be buying anything. I considered buying some gems for the infinite continue coin, but I still had like 5k gems laying around and I’m not sure if it’d make a difference support wise.
None of the other living story is worthy of any support from me, and I’m really sad to say that.
Aside from awesome skins, or actual account upgrades (such as more bank tabs / bag slots), the thing I would like most is an infinite fine transmutation crystal. I would love to support that, even if it was really pricy.
(edited by eekzie.5640)
It would be funny if it was a troll cloud, except that the checkpoint in front of it is bugged with the spikes on the floor.
You can’t open it yet.
Data mining showed a skill (upgrade from the glove) that you need to get to open it.
It’s currently not in the game.
You mean like those legendaries I see everywhere? I see so many (sadly the majority of them) people with names like X ThiefZ X and Xx GuardIaN xX running around with them and wonder what great task they did to obtain them. They should never ever have made them sellable on the TP.
King Toad skins are time limited and can’t be obtained until playing though the Hardmode yourself. I think thats fine. I’m on a T1-Server an I don’t see that many of them. Way more legendary users. After 1 Month you can’t obtain them anymore so I believe thats completely fine. They should increase the difficulty to obtain legendaries though. Time gated and Soulbound.
No, I’m talking about the discrepancy between the tribulation mode weapons and the regular ones.
The tribulation ones are easier to obtain than the regular skins.
Let’s say a legendary was easier to get than an ascended weapon. That wouldn’t make sense. And at this moment, I feel its exactly like that for SAB skins.
The issue I have here is not that they are easy to obtain. And yes I do admit the first try at getting through the areas can be a bit time consuming.
The issue I have is that it’s this trivial for me to obtain something that is considered to be hard, and if I want the blue counterpart I have to put a boatload of time in. For one skin.
It literally takes me about 20 – 25 minutes to finish all three zones in world 1 in tribulation mode. Then add another 2 gold… voila, you’ve got a skin.
Compare that to how hard a regular blue skin would be. Even though that should be obtainable from ‘’normal mode’‘. It just seems like there’s a huge discrepancy between them.
So you can get 28 Toad Skins. Good luck getting that many regular skins now. (Given that I missed the first two days, I’ll be getting 26 weapon skins… )
Now, this might be the same issue for World 2.
I personally haven’t tried doing world 2 yet for the simple reason that there were fixes on the way.
The new build fixed the shop in World 1 Zone 2. Just got it.
Which shop was fixed though, the one at root level?
The one where you would get the free torch.
It’s right after a checkpoint.
Just before a poison lake with 5 lilly pads on it.
