Hi Chris,

Great to see these interesting topics pop up!

Is there any chance we will be seeing more feedback on the already closed ’’Fractured’’ sub-forum? There’s already a lot of great suggestions that were made there.

Maybe if we can get a better idea of where you would be comfortable on giving feedback we can get more productive in the CDI. A bit of pingpong one might say. I’ve experienced a lot of negativity surrounding the latest fractal living story. And I feel we’ve not had proper closure of that yet, mostly regarding the vision for the future and feedback on a lot of things that were promised but not yet delivered.

Regardless I will be making a big ol’ summary of fractured now and where it should be in the future.

So, what do you guys want to see this release?

Personally I’m really looking forward to exploring the more distant areas in LA.
I love me some exploring.

- Tengu wall
- Jumping puzzles
- Moa racing
- Watermellon farm
- Sewers that lead to a shipwreck yard
- Tavern up high

Can’t wait!

“All essential services that are unique to Lion’s Arch will be redirected to Vigil Keep for the time being, including Asura gates to other cities, Fractals of the Mists, and incarcerated cactus-faced troublemakers. Personal story steps will be accessible through a new entrance. Hwang’s team has taken steps to ensure that the city will remain fully explorable for map completion, although if you’re especially fond of a particular view…well, you might want to grab screenshots while you can. We were also warned that exploration isn’t exactly going to be as safe as it currently is.”

Mind the words ‘’for the time being’’.

They seem to be hinting at transforming LA. And for the event it will be a war zone.

Might sound a bit greedy… but I want… I want it all.

I want cute gimmicky lovestruck weapons. I want silly events like the sanctum sprint.
I want big quality of life improvements. Expansion like content.
I want temporary events. I want permanent events. I want reoccuring events.

I do believe they are listening. I just hope they can find a proper balance in all of these.
Yes, I have to agree that the past living story did feel a lot like 2 week upgrade of too little matter. But, if you compare what we get now to what we’ve been getting in the beginning… there’s improvements.

Now I’m really anxious to see what they’ve got coming for us. I’m sure they realise that there’s a huge request for big things. But so far I’ve not seen too much player base suggestions coming to fruition.

First things first, I want to see what becomes of the CDI topics.
There’s been a lot of constructive and good posts there with brilliant ideas.
Once they pick up on that I feel we can move forward to the things we all want to see.

Will we see more character progression on a personal level?

We’ve seen a lot of characters develop, but I feel that there’s been very little personal progression since launch pretty much.

For instance, I’d love to help out the orphanage in my home instance more.
Get them a nice big playground in front of the tavern. I imagine the seesaw and the slide are getting a bit stale for my little friends.

While leaving those silly clowns in the carnival to go bank rupt.

Not really sure if this topic is meant for that, but I’d like to believe my character and her relationships fits under the topic.

I just can’t stand the idea of an omnipotent antagonist who doesn’t really have too many reasons to choose us as her protagonist.

Or at least, it hasn’t been shown yet. Which makes it really hard to attach to the story.
That in combination with slow story telling…

eekzie.5640

- Guild Progression

  • Guild Hall
  • More guild items (Not necessarily guild related, just more funny goofy items to spaw)

- Ascended

  • Uncertainty with legendary armor/trinkets whether or not it’s going to be worth getting them if you need to replace them later on.
Add additional stats to switch to for a cheaper price after the first armor has been crafted. It’s too expensive to get multiple ascended armors for a single character. Let alone multiple armors for multiple characters.

- Infusions

  • Agony Infusions
Currently it’s too much related to money rather than upgrading.
If you make this mandatory for high level fractal than it should not be simply related to gold. There’s already enough gold related progression right now.
  • Stats Fine infusions. We have no clue whether these will be useful later on. Big investment and a lot of uncertainty.

- Magic Find
Can introduce more ways to obtain luck. PvP salvaging feels super sub-par.

- Legendary

  • Lacking visuals
  • Acquisition
This can still need fine tuning, mostly concerning the precursor.
Currently being worked on already, but we’re not being asked our opinion on this.
  • More legendaries

- Fractals

  • Skins
    Combine all skins
  • More skins for higher levels
  • More instabilities
Please fine tune the instabilities more. People should not be looking to skip levels while they are trying to level up. If that’s the case then it’s clear you’ve made the instability play too big of role.

- Item Acquisition

  • Gold Grind
Right now almost every new item means you have to either complete the meta or you can buy it with gold.I feel a lot of character progression is lost this way, as you can just buy your way into it.
  • RNG
It’s nice to get that one time epic loot drop. Or to think it might drop. But there is almost no epic loot item you can work towards. Again you need either luck or gold for those.

- Account Progression

  • NPC Acces
Bank / Guild Bank / Merchant / Trading Post
These are currently only available to get via gold or RNG. These items are extremely user friendly and increase the quality of life tremendously. I don’t see why they aren’t opened up to a wider audience. These should also be shared across all of your characters through easy interface buttons.
  • Unlimited harvesting tools should be shared across all your characters. Should be an account unlock, more than an item.

- Character Slots

  • You should have the option to arrange your character order yourself.
  • At least 8 characters should be visible from the character selection screen.
  • Add a better interface for people with a lot of character slots.
  • Add more interfaces to choose from.

- Bank Slots

  • Can use a better and more appealing interface
  • Hide bank tabs (same as hide bags in inventory)
  • Change size (same as inventory)

- Bag Slots

  • Better appealing icons. Go crazy here. Earn your goofy bag skins.
  • Rename bags.

- Titles
There’s just too much left to explore here to do just in a small headline. It also feels pointless to discuss it because we have no idea of direction with them.

- Home Instance
Same as titles. Too many possibilities without any direction.

Conclusion
Based off the feedback I will get I can go into further details.
These do list my biggest concerns regarding the current character progression.
I can’t give my exact views on everything because it wouldn’t do it justice in a relatively small description.

Character Progression

Gear visuals
- Limited Items

  • These should not be more expensive than a legendary per definition.
I understand how supply and demand work, but a legendary should be the most expensive item to get.
  • Too unclear when something is limited or not.
  • One time usage instead of unlocking it.

- Storage
There’s little to no proper way of storing anything related to visuals that you have. If you want to switch out visuals you are limited to your inventory.
You have to carry your miniature around. You have to carry armor around. You have to carry tonics around. This feels outdated and is very inconvenient.

  • Gemstore Skins
They should be account bound and not one time use only. Same way achievement skins work. Why can you only buy full armor sets?
  • PvE Skins
Add skins together on a single item (same way legendary stats work, pick & choose out of combat).
More upgrades to certain weapons. I don’t see why you can’t add a glow to fractal weapons for instance.
Aside from that right now almost all armor related skins are acquired with gold. There’s dungeon and karma armor.
Since release nothing has been added that doesn’t require gold.
  • PvP Skins
Needs a quality of life overhaul, it takes too long switching visuals out and if you want to switch gear from 1 character to another is such a hassle.
Better overview of how to acquire skins. It’s a complete mess if you’re new to the game.
    - Runes
They’re currently being reworked. Although we have no clue what’s going on and what’s going to change.

- Features

  • Free WP’s to main cities / Home instance. This needs to be earned through permanent living story achievements.

- Skills

  • Useless skills need to be reworked. PvE / WvW / PvP need to be split off for more interesting skill options. Right now they’re all linked to eachother, which pretty much splits the usability up way too much. Because something is viable in sPvP it should not be changed, even though it could be absolute trash for PvE.
This makes skill options way too limited right now.

- Weapon skills
I would love to see each weapon slot have 3 weapon skills to choose from. Often I’m stuck not using a weapon skill at all. Simply because it is ineffective for the gametype I’m playing. This is partly because, again, some skills are super useful in a certain game type. While they are trash elsewhere, but that leaves them in a bad situation.

- Karma
Simply need more options to spend karma on useful items.
Right now it’s only true usage is obsidian shards, gold and cooking materials… this should be broadened up a lot.

- Useless items

  • Pointless merchants. Yes I’m late on bringing this up, but there’s just almost no interesting merchants in the game… at all.
  • Bloodstone / Empyreal / Dragonite … I’ve lost count on how many I’ve thrown away. Trying to get people to play all of your content is nice, but don’t make it mandatory.
This leaves people who have a certain part they enjoy with a bad after taste. If you love doing world events, you’re swamped with dragonite. If you’re doing a lot of fractals you’re being swamped with Empyreal shards.
The whole reward scheme seems messed up for this. It’s too narrow.
A fun way of going about this would be to spend for instance 5,000 of one type to get a harvesting node in your home instance (that gives like 10-15 each day).
For example: I spent 5,000 bloodstone dust for a dragonite node. (Just spouting out numbers)

- Traits

  • Add trait pages
  • Switch between trait pages
  • Split WvW / PvE trait pages

It’s not ’’claiming’’. This isn’t a black and white subject. I’ve never once said that you should share ones opinion. I said that you should take these opinions in consideration when it comes to armor design and that therefor, to me, it is a poor design choice.

Also this wouldn’t seem like the best way to express freedom of sexuality or artistic endeavours much. There’s way better ways. So your argument doesn’t hold much ground.

Putting aside that you haven’t even made an argument as to why it isn’t acceptable. The point of a freedom of expression and artistic license is that you don’t get to judge what is and isn’t in your own words “the best way” to express it, as it is a freedom and what would be the point.

I like the way you try to arrogantly railroad over your opposition by simply claiming they are wrong. But frankly you lack the substance to even form an argument, let alone counter the one I just posed.

You lose, good day sir.

I guess you haven’t read what I’ve said then.
I just have high doubts that this would be chosen as an expression of art.
And you don’t have anything to back up that argument so I don’t see why I would be convinced.

I’m not trying to sound arrogant. That’s just another false presumption that you like to label me with.

I’m just going to repeat myself.

It is not about personal opinion. It is about opinions being well based on arguments.
Whether that is my view on this armor does not matter. Simply because these opinions can be formed and actually hold solid ground they are valid for judging whether this design is or is not misplaced in the game. It is not about me personally having such an opinion.

Then it is only normal to take these opinions into consideration when judging whether or not the armor is justifyable. I’ve expressed several opinions on well based arguments so that you can take them into consideration on whether or not the armor should be in the game. Others have also posted arguments as to why such an armor is sub-standard. Again, I’ve only given opinions to show how people can think about this armor. This is not about what I think, and it shouldnt be about your personal opinion either. This is about the issue that this armor raises for people. And then you should ask yourself whether or not a small alteration is justifyable to solve it.

I hope you realise repeatedly saying you’ve made an argument doesn’t make it so. You haven’t in anyway justified why you think this armor is… In your own words “justifiable” you have merely claimed that because you think it is not, therefore it is not.
This is not an argument.

So here… I am going to do you a favor by giving you a counter argument.

Claiming this armor is unjustifiable is an oppressive attack towards freedom of expression, freedom of sexuality and freedom of artistic expression

Your move.

It’s not ’’claiming’’. This isn’t a black and white subject. I’ve never once said that you should share ones opinion. I said that you should take these opinions in consideration when it comes to armor design and that therefor, to me, it is a poor design choice.

Oddly, the T3 Medium thread just got merged with the Flamekissed debate. I think they are highly different topics. The former is about questions of taste and whether a risque armor set “cheapens” the game as a whole, while the latter is about exclusivity of cultural armor and the release of a variant of it for gem purchase. But whatever.

Be warned, the two threads of debate won’t make much sense together. I recommend clearly stating which of the two issues you are discussing in any future posts in here.

Yeah I’m not entirely sure why this happened.
I doubt it would benefit the discussion for either of the two topics…

Here is an even easier solution. Why not just…NOT purchase the armor you don’t like and let other players have a chance of experiencing the unique artwork of the t3 medium themselves? How hard is that? Is a thread on the forums really necessary demanding a change to a well liked piece or armor? Let me answer that for you, NO IT IS NOT. These types of posts are toxic to the community because there is really no real problem being presented here. The Flamekissed armor fiasco was a different story. I personally did not purchase the t3 medium for my thief because I found the pants to be ugly and the asymmetrical style of the top just looked weird on other bottoms to me, so i opted for the krytan top that’s in the gem store. As a female I don’t find the under boob “offensive” or “impure” in any way, nor would I dress that way irl. So please stop trolling the players of gw2 and go play the game.

An easy fix would make the armor beautiful for a wider target audience. Doesn’t seem like she’s trolling. I honestly see no reason why they chose for this design in the first place.

And if it’s not offensive or impure for you thats great. But keep in mind others might for good reasons.

I’m asking here to take in consideration that people can get offended by it and that warrents a change. The change I proposed is so slight that the people who have the armor would not mind too much. Therefor I can’t see why you wouldn’t want this.

2. its not about asking the question again, really. my point there is simple. The whole issue is an opinion. one can write there, its not proper, its tasteless, its crude etc without ever saying anything like “i feel that…” or “in my opinion”, it still doesnt make it anymore than an opinion. Frankly i dont even know why this needs clarification. Is there something here, that makes your values universal, that other people MUST be forced to accept your views? Why do you want to force your values on others? Why must we accept ur views?

I’m just going to repeat myself.

Well, since Anet is removing glory in future updates, I don’t see where getting more glory would be useful for now. I’d rather sell the booster for some silver, since gold will be the universal currency. What about 10s per booster? 25g a stack doesn’t see so unreasonable

I don’t see the correlation between gold and glory boosters.

Also, glory boosters are used to get glory. This is just a suggestion on how to get rid of all the excessive glory boosters people have before they become useless.

@IceVyper – if the OP had simply asked for more gear variety, I’d be among the first to support that. But that’s not what they asked for. They asked for removal of a a piece of armour they disagreed with for personal reasons. I -completely- tolerate people who don’t want to wear skimpy armour, but these people need to develop some tolerance of their own instead of trying to force their personal views on everyone else by getting the developers to remove revealing armour from MMOs entirely.

I asked for a simple minor alteration that doesn’t undermine the armor in any way.

oh god, this is still up.

1. This feels like… an attempt to bank in on the recent Flamekissed issue to either a) feel glad abt themselves for also being able to “affect” the game to their liking by screwing aportion of the community or b) to get some form of payback on some segment of community over the mentioned issue. I do hope im wrong because if it is, its in poor taste.

2. Why is it there are still attempts to say its “not abt my opinion” when the entire thing is abt opinions. Fact is this wouldnt seem odd enough if it was a regular discussion of opinions.

3. And for the fun of it, to reply one of the Qs up there. I do not haf medium human t3, because my friend has it, and i dont want to dress our toons alike. my friend bought it because of liking the design, specifically more so for the underboob. Had my friend not have it, i would certainly have gotten it… for the same reasons. I’m not using this as any part of an argument about majorities or what not.

1. Simply not the case.
2. I’ve already explained why. Asking the same question over and over again does not help your case.
3. Like I said, this is not about personal opinions of whether or not the armor is good looking.

By now a lot of people are still stuck to a lot of glory boosters.

A simple solution to not make them absolutely useless is to make them tradable for a glory consumable.

This way, you can still use glory boosters when you’re playing and get the full benefit.
Or you can trade them in for an amount less than you would get by using them during gameplay.

Lets say each game takes 10 minutes, and you play 4 games each hour.
You would earn about 400 additional glory from this.

Ofcourse, you can earn a lot more glory if you’re trying to be super productive. But I’m trying to get to a fair amount of glory that a glory consumable would give you.

Lets say a glory consumable would give you 250 Glory each.
This way you can get rid of your excessive glory boosters in time, but not get the same benefit as those people who actually used them.

To me this seems like the perfect solution.

Felt important to share this sentiment.

in Fractured

Posted by: eekzie.5640

eekzie.5640

I’m also concerned with a lot of stuff that was said in the live stream up front.
That actually made the fractals look very promising. But a lot of the things they said were simply not true.

There was said to be a lot of feedback back and forth coming for the forums.
The lack of developers responding shows this was a lie.

Fractal weapon boxes were said to be in game.
They’re not accessible to us, so why even mention them for this update?

There were supposed to be balance fixes to make every fractal in the same category more in line with eachother, time wise.
They did not make any fractal shorter except for the uncategorized one.
They left the easiest fractal the same length. They only fixed exploits for the longest one.

I would not be surprised if ascended armor boxes will not drop in fractals (yet).

Leaderboards are a joke, just a bad concept all together.

The fractal money reward was supposedly going to be in line with other dungeons.
Seeing how Arah p4 (about comparable length to a fractal) gives 3 gold, this is clearly not the case either.

The meta reward was said to include ‘’materials you do not already have hoards of’’.
Seeing how they were exactly that… super disappointing.

The mystlock instabilities don’t live up to their potential because they feel wrongly fine tuned. There’s some that are extremely easy compared to some others. It was explained in the live stream like every instability would just be a bit more difficult for a team than the other. But for instance, the level 43 is extremely hard for certain parties (especially if you roll the wrong fractal). It’s not just ‘’a bit more difficult’‘. It’s near impossible for certain compositions to beat certain fractals there all together.

All in all I’m just super disappointed in what has actually been delivered, compared to what could have been delivered in this update.

Why do you play the class you play.

It just makes you do more fractals more frequently. Which I’m fine with.
I’ve done over 15 fractals before I got the last one I needed. So I’ve been on the bad side of the RNG spectrum of this meta.

As long as the chances are within reason (25% is the lowest chance for a specific fractal) then I don’t see the problem.

Just keep in mind, the more rolls you have the more chance for the percentages to come through in the end.

What you seem to miss is that it’s not about my opinion.
It’s about the reasonability that people can be appalled by this.

And apparently a lot of people here only care about themselves and show absolutely empathy towards the possibility of this.

/endsnip

ok, let’s say for a moment that the thread is about the possibility that people can be “appalled” at the armor.

I am absolutely sure you speak the truth… There is a group that thinks it’s socially unacceptable.

I have a couple questions for you, if this is truly the case:

1. Why wait until now to post the thread, when it has been in the game for over a year? Did it not “appall” that group before now? It is odd that it only comes up after the Light Human T3 debacle.

2. Why is it that if the thread is not about your opinion, you keep saying “I” this, and "I: that?

3. Finally, how can you care about yourself and show absolutely empathy towards the possibility that you are in the minority on this one? (yes…in case you missed it, these are your own words directed back at you.)

1. A-net seems to finally listen in on forum posts since as of recent.

2. Because my opinion, even though it’s not needed for the point I’m making, is making it easier to express what is wrong with the armor.

3. I’m not sure what minority or majority’s stand on this have to do with anything. The biggest problem that this thread has already shown is that people perceive me as a prude who think too much of pixels. This is not the case. But that leads to the problem being that people can show no empathy towards what is really the problem. That leads me back to point 1. People are having a hard time understanding why underboob is not acceptable, hence I need to express my opinion to enlighten them.
Then, they take it as ‘my opinion is just an opinion on the topic’, while what I’m trying to do is show them why such a design has no place in a game. And so far it has only resorted to simple kittening.

I’ll try to reword it a little to make it more clear.
It is not about personal opinions and that includes mine.
The problem is that the target audience consist of people who have good reasons to have a negative opinion on this subject. I’ve given examples as to why they are well based opinions.

The discussion shouldn’t be whether you ‘’like underboob’’ or not. It’s whether or not underboob is acceptable in a game. And then, for once, please take in mind that it’s not about your personal opinion.

Sorry for going offtopic a bit here.

It is off topic. This thread is about one persons views on an armor, specifically how it is ‘immature’ and ‘insulting’. All personal preferences of course. People are saying how changing a piece of armor simply due to (an obviously small) opinion would be dumb.

However in contrast the thread you linked (and the reply that you posted) leads me to believe you are on the side of allowing people to keep a set of gem store armor that..
A) was not intended to be made for other races, and made an armor set non exclusive.
B) was put in the gem store and made the original armor worthless (half price)
C) Spit on the efforts of people who worked hard to design their characters based on the actual t3.

So no, the two threads are in fact not related. Take your campaign elsewhere.

What you seem to miss is that it’s not about my opinion.
It’s about the reasonability that people can be appalled by this.

And apparently a lot of people here only care about themselves and show absolutely empathy towards the possibility of this.

(..)

You’ve made your spam clear. You can’t understand what I’m saying and I’m fine with that, but don’t take it personal and keep spamming.

The whole problem is that people find this offensive.
That is not subjective.
Then, my opinion is that people who are offended have a solid point to base their opinion on. It is indeed a tacky armor, and people can get offended by it.
Now comes in why this is posted in the discussion… Is it people overreacted or not.
I believe it is not. Whether you (or I) agree with them is irrelevant.
It is relevant whether or not it is an overreaction to this armor.
I’ve already explained why I don’t think this is the case.

WHAT doesn’t fit in the game ? Boobs ? Underboobs ? Revealing clothes ? A tiny bit of nudity ? What doesn’t fit in the game ?

Up to a certain level it is acceptable, sure.
You don’t see me critisising those which are acceptable.
There’s plenty revealing armor in game that’s done the appropriate way.

The point being that this is offensive to certain people because it is too tacky is why it doesn’t fit in the game.

GW2 has a much higher then normal range of armor styles to choose from. There’s skimpy, there’s teasing, there’s elegant, and there’s puritanical. There is at least one set from each category on the continuum for each armor class.*

Don’t like the style of one, don’t use it. The range of choice is great to have. A refreshing change from most MMO’s that don’t even allow for that much.

*-in the case of medium armor, probably exactly one choice each. The rest will all be trench coats.

Like I said, it’s not about me personally using it.
It’s also not about other armors.
Please keep this on topic.

You never wrote why. You described it as immature; something fit for women on street-corners. But you didn’t write why- and why is that?

Like I said, because it doesn’t fit in the game.
Quality wise. Etiquette wise. Design wise.

The problem is that it really is about your personal opinion of the armor. You call it “impure.” Now, I personally don’t like it myself because having costumed for decades, I’m quite aware of what would happen the moment anyone wearing that got into Thiefly acrobatics. It wouldn’t only be the under part showing! It’s also an odd part of one’s assets to display.

Still, it doesn’t lower the quality. There are a lot of skimpy and a lot of non-skimpy available to suit a range of tastes. The detailing on that armor is a lot better than on some other cultural pieces (I’m still sad my Norn T1 Medium doesn’t have a dye channel on the dress for the trim and tassels, for instance, I think that lowers the quality).

The armor’s well made, you simply disagree with the design choice that went into the chest. Others are going to disagree with you on this. To you it doesn’t belong in Tyria. To me, Tyrians seem to have different cultural norms on what’s appropriate in formal settings from what many Earth societies through history have preferred. Noble humans show a lot of skin. Charr and Norn likewise — well, with Charr it’s fur. Heck, Sylvari put on clothes because it seems the thing to do, not out of any shame.

This is simply a matter of etiquette gone wrong. Overexposure in a way that is inappropriate for the game. There’s a line where something is too trashy, and this one goes over it. It’s no longer professional design to me anymore. It’s a joke.

You can discuss whether or not that is the case, but if it makes people feel like that you’ve got to show compassion towards them. Aside from it being inappropriate as well. It’s just too far beyond the suggestive spectrum.

So what is this topic about?
Again you speak of “this design” and “that standard of quality.”
I personally find it beautiful. Perhaps you should explain how you find it, first, and your reasoning for doing so.

You might want to read what I’ve said then.
What I think of the armor itself is irrelevant to this topic.

It is not that I am unhappy about the armor.
I’m unhappy that they would allow this design to take part of the game.
It lowers the standard of quality that armor pieces have in game.

This is up again because the previous topic was closed as people couldn’t behave themselves. It’s already getting quite toxic in here because all of you seem to get the wrong impression of what I am expressing.

Please keep this on topic and clean.

This is not about me not liking the armor.
This is not what this topic is about.
So please, if you’ve got any comments regarding that keep it to yourself.

The biggest problem I have this armor is that it simply doesn’t live up to the quality I expect of a game. It’s not a stylistic choise, it simply is too far of what I expect a game should present to you. I can not support designers who willingly make you look like you’re working on a street corner.

A simple alteration to the armor would still leave it skimpy, but it’d remove the impure aspect of the armor.

Not buying it doesn’t solve the problem. This is not about me personally buying it.

The level of immaturity that is explicitely adhesive to the design of a showing underboob is one I do not wish to have in a high-standard game.
It also does not belong to the fantasy world that is Tyria.

Please keep this discussion civil and on topic.

The following attachment shows how to solve the problem without undermining the overall look and feeling of the armor.

So don’t buy it. Request new skins. Do NOT request changes for existing skins. Your opinion is not the be-all, end-all of the discussion. The world does not revolve around you.

People can choose to wear the skin just like you can choose not to.

I love the delusion that cultural armor is in any way prestigious, too. Plus, as the gold->gem rate rises, gem store armor will soon be more expensive than the cultural armor.

Not buying it doesn’t solve the problem. Your ‘’do not request changes’’ is simply you feeling entitled. The armor change I viewed to you does not undermine the armor in any way. It simply removes the indecency.

You’re being too short sighted with thinking that it is simply a choice that is being made regarding this armor set of whether or not to buy it.
I already told you it is not. I will never get the armor set.

But the level of immaturity that is explicitely adhesive to the design of an underboob is one I do not wish to have in a high-standard game.

My wife is trying to decide which medium armor user she is going to make just to use that skin.

Those that don’t like it are welcomed to their opinion, but changing the armor to your particular tastes is rather self absorbed.

Do you go into clothing retail stores and request that they change the style of clothes you don’t care for?

Not so much a choise in taste as far as style goes. More that I don’t feel right that a company would willingly advert this level of tackiness through the most expensive and on top of that prestigious armor.

I honestly don’t care about the armor. I find it ugly all together. That doesn’t mean the game should lower it’s standards to armor styles like those in Tera.

I totally agree there should be coquettish armor styles to choose from. But this kind of armor passes the flirtatiousness level and in itself is tasteless.

I’d rather see them do grawl on 43

But a definite yes to seeing developers/QA-people tackling their own challenges!

49 is actually the easiest from the 41 to 49 fractal instabilities in my opinion.
So I wouldnt be too interested in that one.

How is 49 easier than 47? No, really explain it to me. Losing 10% dps(or more) is better than not using elites which are pretty useless beyond timewarp and warbanner?

Easiest. Not necessarily the fastest.

Team Arena will provide the most gold, followed by Solo Queue, followed by hotjoin.

I believe we’ll be giving specific numbers on Friday’s livestream.

I understand that the team arena format is a higher competition format… but that leaves me lingering with a question.

Are the rewards for playing solo / tournament arenas going to be linked to your rating?
If not the whole argument of rewarding a more competitive scene kind of goes to waste, as really bad people would still get rewarded more in low rated matches.

Skill level is relative. Ten equally skilled players in the lower end of matchmaking are playing just as hard as the top ten players. Their game experiences are identical for their skill level.

This isn’t about rewarding people for being better at the game – that’s what the ladders are for.

The problem is that ten equally skilled players in the lower tier are more likely to have less time invested in setting up matches. In practicing for those matches and in the whole preparation together.

I’m not saying that the rewards for winning low rated matches should be negligible… but if you would compare the competitiveness of a solo que of people fromt he top 25 in a 5v5 against eachother… or some unranked 5v5 team arena… I would only assume the solo que will be a lot more competitive.

This is in contrast of rewarding high competitiveness.

Why on earth would you reward someone AT ALL for losing? This will just encourage afk players or people bsing around for free money…

Gold in hotjoin ..why? I don’t see the logic here not trying to sound like an arrogant kitten just it doesn’t make any sense to me…. maybe the steam on friday will clear things up.

People who put in time and effort should be rewarded, regardless of the outcome of the match.
Even now if you lose a game you still get rewarded with glory.
Considering they are replacing glory with gold, why would they change this all of a sudden?

The rewards of winning should still be good enough to make you want to actively win.
An idea here could be to reward you based on total points won. In example, winning would give you 500 pts would be 25 silver and an additional 10s win chest. But losing with 300 pts would then give you only 15s.

What if ranks were easier to obtain?

in PvP

Posted by: eekzie.5640

eekzie.5640

Alright… so my idea is pretty straight forward.

Right now having a high rank in PvP seems pretty meaningless.
The reward of having finishers unlocked is pretty cool, but the problem is that a lot of people have just sky hammer farmed it. This, to me, makes rank very meaningless.

Rewards for ranking up also seem very lacking. Ranking up from for instance 31 to 32 would leave me cold. Adding something worth while and making ranks easier to obtain from now on would give you more satisfaction.

Resetting everyones rank or removing it would seem too destructive. It’s still a nice way to indicate time invested. But, how about from now on it’d be easier to earn?

This would need some fine tuning with when you get what reward.

There’s a lot of things you can come up with here, for example:
Increase the ranks needed for finishers (every 15 levels?), but triple the rank points gained.

This would still give people who had a lot of time invested something back for their time, while making it more obtainable to distinguish yourself from pityful farming.

Leaderboards and ranking question.

in PvP

Posted by: eekzie.5640

eekzie.5640

Your win/loss rate doesn’t determine your rank.
PvP rank also has nothing to do with it.

The leaderboards use rating. If you’ve beaten people with lower ratings, you get less points compared to beating people with a higher rating. This way, even with a negative win/loss rating you can be very high ranked.
