So my 2 coppers on the topic:

I’m an avid WvW player, and I agree there are some problems with the current mechanic, but I don’t see it to be as bad as most make it out to be.

Rally on Stomp: Good idea. Risk is high to stomp in mass of AoE. Only tanks can do this at cost of their health and possibly down attempting this. No need to limit amount that can rally since this is a very risky thing to do in a zerg fight.

Hard Resing in combat: I see no problem with this mechanic as it is. If people are dedicated to resing then they aren’t dealing damage to the enemies and can be easily downed by AoE damage. (Stealth doesn’t prevent damage). The risk vs reward here is fine.

Hard Resing OOC: Please do not limit this. Slow classes like mesmers and guardians will severely suffer from this when they have to rerun the entire map to rejoin the zerg.

[PvX] My blasts prioritize my combo fields

Posted by: eleshazar.6902

eleshazar.6902

Why don’t they just allow up to 3 combo fields to stack? If your combo finisher passes through up to 3 combo fields, your finisher procs each field.

Or they can kick it up a notch and design different elite combo finishers that have their own unique characteristics. i.e. Blast Finisher for Fire + Lightning + ethereal = new finisher.

The problem here is the unpredictability of what you are going to proc in situations like wvw. If we allowed the effect to proc on each field separately then fields would be very overpowered, and fields would be thrown down everywhere. If we switch to your suggestion of a new finisher then we are still left with the problem of your result not always being what you want/expect.

But regardless, I’m kind of done discussing this with you. You clearly won’t concede your point and I won’t concede mine. True I was slightly rude to the OP, but a lot of us are sick of warriors in this game, and unless they balance them out to not be so OP they are going to see their population drop drastically when ESO comes out.

First off refer to panel discussion by the development team on warriors pre-launch: “we intend the warrior to be a simple class to play.” If you want to find the exact minute in the video when they say that, be my guest. You seem to be one of the few people on this forums who doesn’t know that they publicaly said that….

Second, if you were competent in math you can caluclate that 6 80s x r60 + (there are some significantly higher than 60, but I didn’t point that out clearly, so we will assume you thought they were all just 60) 6×60 = r360. So saying that your guildies are between 300-400 is relevant why?

Third: Saying that a warrior can be killed does not mean that they are balanced and not OP. You can be logically overpowered and not be invulnerable. As I pointed out, when it comes to equal skill between a warrior and someone of another profession, the warrior will win. If I face a warrior on my guard who is just as skilled as me (in a wvw situation since the stat balance is different in pve) I will lose. Plain and simple.

I’m not saying that you can’t be skilled on a warrior. I have met some warriors that are far better at this game than me. They do have an easier time, but you can tell the difference between a good player that times their interrupts, bursts, condis, cleanses, and heals perfectly, and someone that relies on the broken mechanics of their class.

And lastly, since it seems you need help with your warrior build here is OP WvW build #1:

http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fIEQNBhYD7kzhogzdwFCmIDAmH/AURqCwlegGbpB-jUCBofCyEEAkIQUCwpmFRjtyqIasKkYaXER12bFRrGA-w

With this you have almost 30k health, and if you keep you don’t spend your adrenaline your HB will deal a total of 9833.65 over a channel (15% +8551 base). And if you use “On my mark” first on your target add 10% dmg to that (over ~10.4k). And that’s assuming you don’t crit a single time in the channeling of that skill. And I’m assuming you will complain about the no stability…. In which case you can flip out the stun breaker for balanced stance instead. Although personally I think endure pain in WvW is better.

Nope, I actually have 6 classes at 80 (main guard, but have thief and warrior at 80 as well and play them all a lot [r60+ in wvw on all of them]). And I don’t run a back stab build on my thief.

I know I can kill a warrior, and they don’t scare me (regardless of the class I’m playing). The problem is that with equal skill between a warrior and another class, the warrior will ALWAYS win. They can be super tanky, and still deal heavy damage and leverage condition supplements. Plus it is designed by Anet to be a starter easy class. So while I have to do keyboard acrobatics on my ele in order to deal damage and stay alive, the warrior literally can button mash and make about 10 mistakes before I kill him. If I mess up once I die.

Something tells me you are main/only a warrior. Try playing a different class, that requires skill, against a warrior and you will understand why something like this suggestion is so ridiculous that it is laughable.

I laughed so hard at this post. This guy seriously thinks that a grandmaster that can situationally give you 50% damage buff is ok? (So a warrior that crits for 10k would then crit for 15k [more than the base health of a guard, thief, or ele]).

I think that this warrior meant to put:

soz, i thinking that war UP.

these be the new trait sugest tht i come up with

while war hp above 100hp: 100% buff to dmg AND enmy lose all armr bonus and suffers from bleed, poison, torment, cripple, chilled, and revealed and moa form.

wht u guys think? thts not OP?

I don’t think he suggested any conditions being applied to the enemy while having this trait taken? I also didn’t see him mentioning having over 100 health as a requirement for the buff. And is there even a trait/skill that ignores enemy armor? I think that would be pretty cool if implemented correctly. Anyways if you take another look at his post he suggested that it would be BELOW 25% health, for the extra damage increase to take place. That would not benefit healing signet warriors so I find that quite funny. He also did not say that warriors were underpowered in any way whatsoever. He simply suggested that these traits were lackluster and, compared to other classes, they are. Though in my opinion I would not care if either of those traits were buffed, as I always have and will use Berserkers power and have never used berserkers might. I would hope that in the future you will take the time to read the post, and re read if you must so that you understand all that is being said before you comment.

Oh I understood his post perfectly. I’m just mocking it because the suggestion of 50% damage increase even if it is barred behind being under 25% health (which for some warriors is as high as 7,000) and having full adrenaline is ridiculous. It would make warriors even more broken and overpowered than they are now.

I can just imagine the fight between a warrior and a an ele/thief/guard:

1) Warrior stands still while a thief comes up and back stabs the warrior.
2) The warrior slowly turns around as the thief continues to unload all of his initiative into this warrior trying to down him.
3) Warrior yawns as his health slowly goes down to 7,000.
4) Warrior does a quick hundred blades and downs the thief with a 15K hit (1 hit KO).
5) Warrior resumes his mindless state.

[All] Staff skill balances between classes

in Profession Balance

Posted by: eleshazar.6902

eleshazar.6902

As a note I have all of the staff bearing characters at 80 and play them quite frequently.

My only comment here (since I think a lot of the suggestion the OP has are pretty flawed and will never actually happen, no offense but you are asking for way too much here) is to have the staff 2 detonate orb on guard be a blast finisher. At that point I think the guard staff would be fine. It isn’t meant as a dps (or an ally healing) weapon. (If you think the main benefit of empower is to heal allies you are sorely mistaken/don’t play guard much).

As for your changes, you are asking for them to be buffed too much and in ways that a lot of people won’t want.

[PvX] My blasts prioritize my combo fields

in Profession Balance

Posted by: eleshazar.6902

eleshazar.6902

As a person who mains on guard (although I have all classes, including the illustrious ele and engineer), I don’t think that prioritizing my fields is the answer. Light fields are only useful with whirls for the condi cleanse, but blasting or leaping through them is near useless if I have another field option.

I like the list idea personally. That way the advanced players can chose what they want, and if you don’t customize the order, you will just end up doing what you’ve always done in terms of priority. (Which by the way, correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t it time based already? FIFO? In other words bottom field priority?)

Also on the side note of finishers and combos, can guard please get the detonate ability on staff 2 as a blast finisher? It would match our trident skill two which is nearly identical. We really only get hammer and focus five as blast finishers, and if you don’t carry either you kind of get screwed since we have no utility blasts. (Or you could make a utility be a blast like smite condition).

WvW - Three Likes & Three Hates

in WvW

Posted by: eleshazar.6902

eleshazar.6902

Likes:

1) Season 1 (The feeling that whether you won or lost each week actually mattered)

2) Defensive Preparations (Like traps! More of these, and possible not quite as expensive, or more powerful [maybe a magical shield]).

3) Suggestion: Let players move supply. Now hear me out on this. I’m thinking a system where your movement is decreased by 50% and all of your utilities are disabled as you “carry” supply. This would prevent zergs from just instantly filling up a keep (because a zerg that can’t fight would suck), but would allow small groups to really make a difference. Maybe make it so that you can’t drop the bundle unless you are at a supply depo (i.e. you make it all the way or you die trying) or make it so that if you drop the supply it is destroyed.

Dislikes

1) Zerging. Self explanatory. These big massive mindless zerg fights have been encouraged in this game for too long. Look at the positive feedback that you got on the marionette fight because you didn’t go with the zerg button mashing mentality in creating that fight. People like to feel like what they do matters.

2) Participation Imbalance. Notice I didn’t say population, but participation. I play on Gate of Madness and we are technically a “high pop” server. But we are vastly undermanned in WvW. I think server transfer costs should be free for people moving to a lower ranked server than their own. And the fees for transferring up the ladder to a top tier server should be hefty. Case in point: Look at how many devs play on JQ/SoR/BG for WvW. Come see how unfun a matchup between HoD and GoM is because we get rolled and those that like WvW don’t stand a chance. Make the out manned buff actually affect our ability to compete, not just make us not cry over our astronomical repair costs.

3)Oceanic Guilds Night-capping. Basically a server that can recruit an Oceanic WvW guild will always beat one that has none. People have to sleep/go to work. A server can’t compete with a server that has 24/7 coverage. There has to be a way to limit the amount of impact you can have on off peak hours. Maybe a reduced PPT? Or again, make the outmanned buff matter so that the 1-10 people playing on a map at 3AM can face the 30 people that show up from Asia in the middle of the night.

I can’t say it enough that I love that this fight breaks down the zerg mentality, and rather you feel like what you do really does matter. Couldn’t agree more! I loved the marionette fight and really wish they would leave it around as permanent content.

We weren’t forced into a massive zerg fest.

We felt like we really contributed to the success of the event.

We got to use siege.

Difficult, but not so difficult that people get frustrated and quit after beating it once.

I hate the wurm fight though, and I don’t want to do it anymore. After doing it twice I’m done. I run on a good machine and even I felt affected. Also stacking in a zerg and just spamming buttons doesn’t feel epic. It is boring and I wish the game would take more of the split group approach that happened with the marionette fight. 20-25 people in a group (lane) is the max amount of people I want around me in a fight.
(Reason I prefer to roam with guildies in wvw as opposed to zerging in EB).

Evil Puppet Lady: Thanks Anet! :D

This is not a sarcastic post!

I really enjoy the evil puppet lady (guild’s nickname for her) fight!

There is just something about it that makes it feel challenging, but not like a giant zerg fest (Like Teq was and which is why a lot of us didn’t like it). My guild is predominantly a WvW guild that hasn’t been a huge fan of the LS, but we convinced our guild to make an attempt on the fight, and even our most anti-PvE players asked if we could try again the next night!

I love the incorporation of siege, the smaller 20-25 man fights, the ability to use finishers, and the ring mechanics. We had each lane cheering on the others, and it really was a lot of fun to do. I have most of the achievements, and yet I keep going back to do the fight again because I enjoy it. We even had a dev that recently transferred to our server fighting along with us.

Just wanted to give you guys that, oh so hard to find, positive feed back.

(Give the guys that came up with this fight a raise! [and if at all possible don’t take it away!!!!])

Not really a big deal, but the finisher’s on the clockworks in PvE that are defending the probes will always be finished by a regular standard stake finisher, even if you have a different one equipped. As a guardian (seconds slowest class in the game besides my mesmer) this would be awful to me. I can rarely use this skill to escape a fight because I’m so ridiculously slow. PvX - Guard Staff 2 Blast Finisher Suggestion

in Profession Balance

Posted by: eleshazar.6902

eleshazar.6902

Suggestion: Add a blast finisher to the guardian staff 2 “Detonate Orb” ability to match its trident counterpart.

Reason: Guardians have access to two blast finishers above ground, focus 5 (45 second cooldown) and hammer 2 (4+1/2 second cooldown). None of our utilities are blast finishers. I think that it would match the trident underwater skill 2 where you can detonate your orb for a blast finisher. As the skill is a detonation it makes sense that this should be a blast. Also this would make a weapon with very little dps (and which is honestly only used for empower and occasionally line of warding) much more appealing.

Well if the devs would take two seconds out of their day to just say “It is coming in summer, or it is coming next year, or it is never coming” People would stop making these threads. If they don’t respond there are just going to be more and more threads of this nature.

I feel their pain, I’ve had my 3 gifts and have been waiting on a precursor for the last 5 months. I’m up to 725g now, and I’m dead tired of grinding for more to afford dusk. It seriously has me hating the game now. And after I get my legendary (more of a stubbornness thing at this point since I’m determined to finish what I started) I’m seriously considering switching to another game. There are some other gard hitting mmos coming out, and ArenaNet has done nothing but disappoint with their recent moves with this game. So sad to think that these are the same people that created the awesome guild wars 1. Well I guess there is a reason that GW1 is ranked higher on most MMO lists than GW2…..

Some players behaviour ...

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: eleshazar.6902

eleshazar.6902

Well, grind if one of the reasons IMO.
I used to play dungeons for fun. With ascended I need a lot of mats and money so I prefer to do CoF p1 in 10 mins than 30 mins. Which is makes me sad.
Sometimes I have feeling I will never grind all the items I want. Then I play for fun for a while but this forces me to make a break from play finally knowing that playing for fun will not make you closer to your goal. Skins didn’t create this feel of necessity as ascended so I consider this as one of the evils.
The whole game population now is separated into different groups.
1. Ppl who grind and want to maximize profit. They will not tolerate if you decrease their time/profit ratio.
2. Ppl who play for fun. Mostly no way you can keep up with grinders. This forces you to be more and more casual and finally leave.
3. Probably somebody who can do both things. Not sure how.

This is 100% true. Those three categories are what is wrong with the game in my opinion. I find myself becoming less tolerant of other players who are new to the game (and have to remind myself to remember I was new once too) because I need to run x amount of dungeons in x amount of time in order to make enough gold to buy x grindy item Anet has introduced. I rarely give myself time to have fun anymore doing things like wvw and pvp because they really aren’t equal in terms of money. So instead I find myself mindlessly running the same 8 dungeon paths everynight just to make gold. And I hate it so much that I want the best possible group that can finish it as fast as possible.

This, in my opinion is what is going to kill this game. I don’t remember grinding this much in GW1, and although I did run cathedral of fire repetitively on my monk in GW1 I actually found it challenging to do solo and it gave me satisfaction to do it. Dungeons in this game are the same fight and boring stack and spam OP skills repetitively. I usually talk to friends on the phone when I run dungeons, and tend not to even pay much attention anymore.

Would be nice to actually do fun parts of this game again :-/

Precursor Crafting-Throw us a bone on timing?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: eleshazar.6902

eleshazar.6902

I don’t think that would be reasonable speculation.

We know precursor crafting was supposed to come out in 2013 and was delayed.

I really don’t remember them saying this, but lets take it as a given.

We also know that any new legendaries that were to come out, would be trinkets/rings/backpiece (as per Colin). So put 2 + 2 and you can say with confidence that precursor crafting would be involved with current legendaries. Otherwise, they would have to come out with new legendary weapons early this year.

We know that if Legendaries move into a new slot that slot would be trinkets/backpiece not armor. That its quite separate from doing a new round of weapons skins. I put 2 and 2 together to get “since the art for the weapons isn’t ready yet, we held off on the whole thing which is why it slipped to 2014” .

Someone posted above where they said that.

Also to point out I’m pretty sure that it was confirmed that precursors that are created via “crafting” will be account bound. So the only way that this will affect the market is when players take the time to figure out which is cheaper: buying a precursor or crafting one. The price will then normalize to slightly higher than crafting since the crafting will probably involve time-gating (and some people prefer to spend more rather than wait). True some mats might inflate a bit, or deflate, but I think overall the balance can be maintained by Anet on the economy even with the introduction of precursor crafting.

I honestly don’t know why they didn’t implement it, besides to be unique. I love the idea of the trinity and being able to fill a niche roll. IMO the reason why they are having to nerf zerk is because without the trinity DPS is all that makes sense. (Brings up the point of why they are trying to help out support builds by nerfing DPS if there is no such thing as a difference between support/DPS in this game….)

Precursor Crafting-Throw us a bone on timing?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: eleshazar.6902

eleshazar.6902

Precursor is a special weapon you need to craft a legendary. For example, you need the Lover’s shortbow to craft the legendary Dreamer in the mystic forge.

As far as crafting, don’t count on it dude. If/When it does come out, it likely will not be a lot less than just buying one now. I imagine it will be something along the lines of…

  • Two crafts at level 500
  • 250 ecto
  • 250 of a new mat gained by forging an exotic of the weapon type, skill points, ascended mats.
  • Item made of:
  • 100 of an item that costs 1g+ each
  • one super expensive sigil
  • one super expensive recipe
  • 250 of some ascended refined mat.

The moment the recipes are actually released the trading post barons are going to buy the bulk of the mandatory mats and relist them at super inflated prices.

Just go ahead and abandon any notion you have that they will launch the recipes and people will just be able to too-ra-loo-ra craft them. Whatever the system is, it will eat a good bit into the reserves you have saved to actually make the legendary and cause more frustration than farming the gold to buy one.

IMO players should be able to get one precursor, soulbound, per character, by completing a difficult and lengthy, weapon specific quest chain or scavenger hunt. Ala Black Moa Chick. That keeps precursors from flooding the market, it gives players the one they want, it can reward varied gameplay and it doesn’t demoralize players who look at this huge expensive list of stuff they have to collect or save and feel burnt out before they begin. Crafting precurors will be none of those things.

Well I’ve had every other piece of my legendary for almost 6 months already. So I’d spend the 700g I have right now to be able to craft my precursor. It still saves me the extra 200g I would need to buy it on the TP.

And in response to you Nike. I’m assuming it will be difficult, but it will be cheaper than buying on the TP. The reason I’m assuming this is because ANET is implementing this because they said that they are concerned with how inflated the prices of precursors have become. By that logic why would they make it take an equal amount of gold to craft it as it does to buy it?

Precursor Crafting-Throw us a bone on timing?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: eleshazar.6902

They stated that they would give us a way to craft a precursor weapon instead of having to grind for 900g to buy it on the TP or like me attempt to get it from the mystic forge and give up after wasting 200g.

The data mines have already shown that they have put some of the stuff in the DAT file (Seeking Dusk journal like item). Just not sure when they will release it.

Unless you are asking them to tell what will be involved, which I’m NOT asking them. I know they won’t answer that right now since they aren’t allowed to. I’m just looking for a vague estimate which they might be able to give as to the timing. It would go a long way to pacifying those of us that are frustrated with waiting.

Precursor Crafting-Throw us a bone on timing?

Anet,

Can we get an estimated timeline for this? (i.e next few months, summer, next year). I know you guys don’t like to give exact dates since people get upset when those dates slip (which I get, it happens to the best of us), but since there was developer comments on the forums over a year ago stating that you guys thought the precursor prices were out of control at 200g, it might be nice to finally know when we can expect a solution. It was stated that by the end of 2013 there would be precursor crafting which hasn’t happened.

I’m just wondering if we can get a bone here? I don’t know whether to keep grinding to 913g for my dusk (at 700g right now with over 2.3k hours played) or if I should hold off a few more months and possible save a few hundred gold.

Thanks for any hints you can throw our way.

Good idea on the reduction of certain range/frequency of NPC statements in the world!

Here are some that I can recite from memory because they repeat so frequently:

1) “Your weakness makes me laugh!” <— Ice Fractal (Son of Svanir boss says this way too often).

2) “Prove the sun shines through you. Face me in another form!” <— Xotol(?) in caledon forest.

3) “No, no no!….” <— Dredge in Sorrow’s Embrace repeats this statement every time a player walks over some trigger and it ends up going off 10 times at least within a minute.

4) “You heard Grast, hold the line, send the intruders to Grenth” <— Kholer in Ascalonian Catacombs, same problem as the dredge in SE, repeats the line for every player that walks past which leads to “You heard Grast, You heard Grast, You heard Grast, You heard Grast, You heard Grast, hold the line! Send the intruders to Grenth!”

5) “We have cleared the entrance to the citadel of Flame!” <— Citadel of Flame Announcer Lady

And there are really so many others. I like the fact that there are sound effects, and it is cool that I can joke and say one of those lines and other players will laugh because we all know how annoying they get. But a slight toning back of the frequency on repeated lines/ fixing the triggers in dungeon runs on certain NPCs would really be helpful if you ever get a chance!

Thanks for your hard work!

Burn Build guide unsticky?

The only people that think that you can make conditions work on guardians are people new to the game, people that do not have an in dept grasp of the game or are the developers in charge of class balance.

Very true. I’m glad it was un-stickied. Guards that say they run burn builds raise red flags in players minds indeed….

I’m actually working on us making a small change to the interface that will help with this, but any changes to the log-in system are Kind of a Big Deal, so it may yet be a while before we get that made.

In the meantime, kind players helping others is very appreciated!

I love how you capitalized “Kind of a Big Deal” which I’m assuming is a guild wars 1 reference to the rank 1 of the “God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals” title track.

/I see what you did there….

BLTC Error: Invalid Authorization

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: eleshazar.6902

eleshazar.6902

I have had this problem for the past few days where almost every time I try to use the trade post (any tab) it just has an html header in the upper left hand corner with “Error: Invalid Authorization”. The only way so far that I’ve been able to solve this is by quitting the client and then restarting it. This fixes it for a period of time, but then it will go back to that after a while of playing the game. I have tried a -repair of my client, but that hasn’t seemed to fix it either.

It does get really annoying not being able to use the TP most of the time without completely shutting down the game. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I know the BLTC is very buggy so I’ve found ways around most of its problems, but this one I haven’t found a simple trick yet. If anyone knows one around this problem please share!

Rashaman's MM Necro Build

in PvP

Posted by: eleshazar.6902

eleshazar.6902

So I came up with this build about a month ago, and so far it has been highly effective in both Team Q and Solo Q. I figured I would share it in case anyone was looking for a solid minion master build for a necro.

Build:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fQAQNBmWDbkQrVvWzXjePBI9IaqneSx3gDpYXpB-T0AgyCtIaS1krJTTymsNNCYFw+jTAvAA

Key Points:
- Build is designed as a bunker build
- Minions serve as tanks to take most of the damage
- Minions deal damage and siphon health to keep your health up and slowly dps the enemy
- Minions block most ranged attacks, forcing the enemies to get in close to fight you.
- Use minion activation skills to hard and soft CC the enemy while you stack conditions
- Conditions and minion attacks wear down the target quickly with constant dps
- Death Shroud is mainly used defensively, but is very useful to destroy phantasm mesmers’ clones.

Description:
Pretty straight forward to play.
Once in the point cast down your flesh wurm.

When people come up use staff first to throw down some base conditions (staff 2+3, save 4 + 5 for later if need be). Your minions will be very effective at obstructing ranged shots (especially slow bolts like scepter shots from guards), so they will probably try to get in close. If it is just one player I generally switch to scepter/warhorn and trigger warhorn 5 to start gaining some life force while slowing them down and damaging them for getting close to me. Then while you start to pile bleeds and poison on them with scepter start using your minion skills (knockdown from golem, blind from shadow fiend, immobilize from bone fiend) to make it harder for them to hit you, all the while depleting their health with minion attacks and blood stacks.

If they load you with conditions wait until they load most of them then cast staff 4 throwing all of the conditions back on them.

The minions in this build are pretty tanky, so use them to your advantage by getting behind them when possible, if one or two goes down the recharge to recast is reduced, so get them back up as soon as you can.

The blood fiend should be on a 16 second cooldown, so if you need to add some damage and gain some health don’t be afraid to sacrifice him. You will gain health, and he will also trigger a death nova dealing damage and poison to any enemies nearby.

Weaknesses:
- AoE will hit you and your minions which negates their tanky purpose. The minions and you are pretty tough, however, so most aoe damage doesn’t affect you that much. You have two fear interrupts and warhorn 4 as an interrupt so watch for telegraphs for aoe attacks.

- Massive conditions. Staff four is really one of your only ways to fully mitigate conditions. You can switch your traits so that you have your minions pull conditions, but so far I have found that this build kills quickly enough that you don’t need to cleanse conditions more than the initial time. The sustain from your minions attacks is substantial and you also have death shroud as a defensive mechanism. So if you are fighting a condition build just make sure to cc often and to kill them quickly.

Overall I’ve found this to be a pretty solid build that stands up pretty easily against every class, including heavy tanks, and high dps. If you have any questions/comments about the build feel free to ask below!

Guard Patch Notes

What we got in return is what no one wanted and what the designer said wasn’t going to be good enough. So how does one digest that? Not well I’d wager. I’m sure you have or maybe have a great memory, but go back and read the post, then follow up suggestions.

I agree, but what I’m pointing out is that devs aren’t obligated to post and it’s a fallacy that devs aren’t paying attention to players just because they haven’t taken action on the forums. It’s easy to conclude we are being ignored but it’s never done on a whim … there is a reason they didn’t implement our ideas. They have a direction they feel they have to follow. That’s their job.

What about stuff like “We’ll have a discussion about the damage of shattered aegis soon” and then nothing? How does that play into your line of thought?

Devs decided to not do it? Their agenda changed? Someone got hit by a bus? That’s pretty much my point … any dev presence you see here isn’t a requirement … it’s a courtesy. They don’t need us to do their job.

Honestly I’m having trouble taking seriously someone who has links to burning guard builds in his signature….

You are correct they have no obligation to respond to us. (Although their pattern of moderation shows that they do close threads like this when they see them). I would suggest, however, that you are just blindly assuming that they read every thread on the forum, which you also have no proof of. Just saying “it is their job” doesn’t count as proof.

Odd question

in Account & Technical Support

Posted by: eleshazar.6902

eleshazar.6902

Well to be honest I know they aren’t reading the threads. Several people derailed one of my threads with personal insults against the lead developer and the thread wasn’t closed or flagged, which means that no one has read it.

I’ve posted in a million places how fed up I am with this particular issue, and no one listens. Many players are very angry about the same thing, but the developers seem to have a conflict of interest with this specific issue, so they ignore us.

I would really just like to write a respectful letter appealing to them in a professional manner. As it is they simply ignore most of the player base. It just makes me so sad and frustrated how unwilling this new Anet is to talk with its players. I played Guild Wars 1 and absolutely loved the game and the company behind it. I felt they were very caring and listened to players. Now I really have a vastly different view on ArenaNet after seeing how they have implemented GW2 and how they treat feedback. It really does make me sad that they have sunk to this level.

Why is it so hard to get ArenaNet to address big issues? I understand that they can’t address every little problem that everyone has, but when ~50% of the player base complains about something with no response it makes you wonder.

I really think it should grant 10 stacks of confusion (60 sec duration), 5 stacks of torment (10 sec duration), 4 stacks of bleeding (10 sec duration), and also gain 5 gold on critical.

Because if it doesn’t then Warriors are clearly the worst class. I mean come on! How are they to play guild wars 2 if they actually have to try!!! :‘( Don’t make the poor warriors less OP!

Problem with guards dps output?

Problem with necro bleed caps in dungeons?

Problem with Mesmer condi removal?

Guard Patch Notes

in Guardian

Posted by: eleshazar.6902

eleshazar.6902

These changes haven’t done anything to improve the Guardian class. Most people have tried these changes and then said “Ohh yea, they aren’t much of a change”. Still no soft CC, still MASSIVE problems with our weapons, still massive problems with our trait lines, just…tons of problems but we haven’t heard anything about the real problems. Apparently they think we’re just fine, but its hilarious at how outdated our trait lines our and how bad most of our weapons are. Well it’d be more hilarious if I hadn’t have put so much time into my Guard.

Quoted for truth. I’m still debating on running a warrior main instead now that guard is clearly not as good as a warrior. The two things that hold me back: 1) Spent so much time and money on my guardian so it would suck to lose all of that (although my warrior has some of what I need already). 2) I feel like I will get bored with the game if I play warrior since it will be too easy.

Good defensive/bunker PvP build?

Posted by: eleshazar.6902

Don’t go Guardian for bunker sPvP. I main guard, and brought a new level 12 war into TeamQ yesterday with only a shield running 0/0/30/30/10. I used a shout build and hs. Was button mashing and bunkered better than my guard who I know how to play very well. (We won almost every match and two people in my party had never done PvP before, but they brought warriors too and didn’t die to less than 3 people).

Welcome to Warriors being overpowerd. Take advantage of it like everyone else that plays GW2 easy mode.

You are going to be dueling a guardian with a warrior. You will win. If you don’t…. be embarrassed.

Perma vigor? I love how well you don’t know our class hahahaha.

But seriously way to kill guard? Just use conditions and go tanky. Guards can’t deal damage easily, so if you go 30 in toughness and bring healing signet guards literally can’t kill you. OP Warrior for the win!

Warrior healing signet

in Warrior

Posted by: eleshazar.6902

eleshazar.6902

base heal of Healing Signet is 392 hps just wanted to clarify that…400+ is anything with 20 or more in defense. If you have more than 2 dps Condis on you, healing signet is worthless. Healing Surge is better overall than healing signet, like Hyperion stated.
The only way to use Healing Signet effectively would be to use vigorous shouts or regen banners with a decent Condi-bunker build or something like that, and being able to keep as much distance between you and your target as you can(if their melee) or maintaining as much pressure as you can by spamming everything you have… then just sit there and wait for your cool downs…
But healing signet is pretty useless generally. Both Mending and Healing Surge are better than HS

Lol…. healing signet worthless? Yeah virtue of resolve for my guardian heals for 36hps without traiting into healing power (if I trait I get 100hps). On my warrior running 0/0/30/30/10 in sPvP with healing signet and shouts I can’t be killed by less than 3 players (case in point I stand there with shield only every night and call out Warrior OP just to prove how broken War is…).

Try playing other classes and you will realize how broken Warrior is. I have all so I’m less biased. I enjoy warrior but it is Guild Wars2 on easymode. No doubt about it.

You are mistaken Obtena…. There have been attacks in this thread against on of the lead developers. (I was not the one lobbing the insults, just observing). The point of my comment is that the fact that this thread hasn’t been closed means it hasn’t been read. Sure if there was nothing violating the ToS in this thread then your post would be correct that they don’t need to respond to our griping since it is their choice whether to do so or not. Them not closing the thread due to disrespectful remarks and callouts to specific Anet staff means they did not read the thread.

I have no clue where to post this. So I’m sorry if I’m posting in the wrong place.

Is there a way to contact Anet with a non support related issue? For example if I want to write a letter to ArenaNet?

I try to communicate with the development team on the forums via posts, but they never answer, and I suspect never read what I post. I also don’t want to pm an employee because I feel that is rude, and also they probably ignore their inboxes unless they are expecting a pm from someone.

Any help you guys could offer would be greatly appreciated.
