SoN rez and Lick wounds both dont work when on a slope. when downed player and pet are on a different elevation, the heals and rez simply dont work. easily reproducible bug (happens every time reliably).

all that testing and the fastest kill for a heavy golem was 6.1 with ranger and pet…
try 2.7 secs with just a pet
yes we may kill faster… but… warriors take longer to kill… well er wait scrap that my bunker ranger can outlast most “bunker warriors” (if they even exist)
straight up auto attack is not the best measure… if you were to play properly with all skills.. like 100blades then your going to see more balanced results..
to take up peoples time to collect said data? then troll them on how long it took them to do something pointless?
that being said it’s not her or your job to need to actively investigate (with data) because you are scared…

if killing faster gives better loot, thats a design mechanic… if you get better loot by (exploiting an unintended mechanic) then yes technically you should report it..

You can kite alot of bosses and champions using it without them being snared, I know its saved my bacon a few times being able to outrun stuff while pet and others hacked away at it. Plus once you use it for awhile you just feel like a turtle without it, and honestly, if you’re a BM build what other utilities are you going to use? The shouts have huge cd and you’re probably already running the signet of the wild/stone. So I guess you could throw in a random trap or something for your last one but without being specd for them it wouldn’t make much difference. All depends on your gear and spec I suppose.
BM spec here<—- signet of the wild, quickening zephyr, (and sic’em if it wasnt bugged) swapped for flame trap, not speced for flame trap but low cd + high condi ticks = nice damage as a temp replacement..
i can see how signet of the hunt can help kite, apart from that it’s pretty useless..
but if it’s saving your life more often then not, then it’s a hidden gem thats over looked by the “this doesn’t do max dps” type of player.. a dead ranger does 0 dps

the only bit that would be hard is the pathing if a enemy jumps off a ledge then your pet will take the stairs.. but tbh i think thats out of bounds coding wise atm
what are you talking about? Mesmer AI is just as stupid as pets. The only difference between mesmer illusions and pets is that they die before they become a liability.
your probably right.. I had “heard” that they were better at reacquiring unstealthed players but i have no proof or have really seen myself.. was taking what another said at face value.. that being said it’s quite possible that they are better at this one thing..
now that paids are no longer in the game… what will happen to the paid tournament tokens?

I would love to see the damage normalized for the range difference.. In what twisted world do arrows do more damage the further they go? that just does not make sense..
even in pve staying at max range is quite a job to pull off..
mainly because..
dead mesmer inside keep.. use guard to get pet on wall.. use search and rescue to revive dead mesmer.. mesmer then makes a protal into keep so others can gain access and attack the boss…
I think this was the sole reason.. not the legitimate use of just using on walls

I dont think it’s cheap at all… because
1. our pet dies and has x amount of our damage
2. A.I. is not that intelligent
3. it’s apart of me so technically you were never that far out of range from the (combined me)

Ranger pet damage does not show up in the combat log.. nothing at all…
Im running a BM Bunker build atm, so my pet out damages me by far.. yet i have no log of this damage and never have..
can you give a good reason as to why pet damage does not show up in the combat log?
This game is not balanced enough for dueling, this is not a vital feature at all. Classes still have bugs that render many builds useless. It would not be fair to the community to implement dueling before they fix the necessities.
balance has nothing to do with training against professions you have problems with..
when the bunker ele build first showed itself I had all kinds of problems beating them..
then i went into a dueling server with 3 ele’s by chance.. stuck around abit dueled them all.. and by the end of it.. I could beat them..
so your “This game is not balanced enough for dueling” comment does not hold for me..
this would help people learn their profession and teach them to take down others..
not to mention the quality of life fix it would create by not having “dueling servers” that I get ported to every time I hit the play now button..

the band aide fix the community came up with to use the empty servers creates a problem from people entering..
I know for a fact these people do not intend to go into a room with only 2 people in.. all they are doing is hitting the “play now” button and that will take them to the “dueling servers” every time..
I had to stop using “play now” after getting ported to the same dueling server 4 times in a row you tend to just give up on it.. and just manually join one..
so as it stands our band aide annoys the people dueling and the people looking for spvp rooms..
please add this vital feature…

Hi, i’m just curious, are you guys aware of the pathfinding issues with movement skills like bull’s charge and greatsword rush?
This is usually where:
1) your character will hit an invisible object/wall along the path to the target and the skill will cancel.
2) you will hit an invisible object/wall and keep moving in place until the animation finishes.
3) you move to the target fine but then the skill cancels seemingly randomly once you reach them, or you run into them for a bit before it cancels; ie your character never swings the sword or does the “knockdown check” to the target.
4) you overshoot the target completely (usually run through them) and miss.Just curious of those issues are being addressed, because it really hampers the warrior’s ability.
I’m not very familiar with the bugs other than that I experience them on large targets. Here are some things to keep in mind: Swapping weapons will stop you mid-movement. Using frenzy causes skills like bulls charge to only go half distance.
I also misspoke earlier. Our current combat log is not pulling from the much more robust information that the death breakdown uses.
Your comment about frenzy and other movements (Bulls, Rush, eviscerate, etc) is half leap distance intended? Or is it just a by product of twice the action speed?
If yes to the first, can it be adjusted to covering the same distance twice as fast?it’s intended

Just wanted to point out that ranger pets damage does not show up in the combat log at all and if you are BM build like I am then the pet does more damage then I do, but cant see anything in the combat log which makes the log useless to me..

I swapped sic’em out for the flame trap, mainly cus sic’em is bugged atm. if you dont need the range on the utility then i would suggest the flame trap even if not speced for it.. does more dps then both..
How is this an exploit? Its just abusing the kick feature, same as regular dungeons.

they are exploiting the kick mechanic for personal gain..

I think this bug comes from being in the mists for extended periods of time.. or thats what it looked like to me..
question? do you spend alot of time in the mists? and did you try using the TP while in the mists? cus that might be the cause..

Stats are based off who uses the finisher, so it works like other beneficial effects. Blast does area healing like Cleansing Wave, Leap heals yourself, projectiles give regeneration on yourself, and whirl shoots out healing bolts. Pretty sure the healing bolts don’t heal yourself :/—Relyk

Do certain blast moves provide a different magnatude aoe heal or is the heal amount dependant on the healing stat of the blaster?

Some water fields seem to disappear once blasted, some seem to persist is this correct or is it just my perception? (it may just be that some are shorter lived)
I think this is just your perception altho I could be wrong.. reason I say this is my healing spring on my ranger lays down a water field and I know it wont disappear once it’s been blasted..

just went to have a look at this to see what you ment.. yes it’s pretty hard considering im lvl 80 full exotic
one tip i can give for this solo (if you can that is) if you can run past everything, go straight for the skill challenge when you get there fight / rally off kills
it’s pretty intense with that method but atleast your not worrying about respawns also you miss alot of mobs that just run back cus they moved too far

but seriously for people that level it would be near imposs solo for sure unless they want them to revisit that area at a higher lvl later with help..

Admittedly I didn’t read each and every post in that thread, but the thread seems to be about the player losing track of the cursor or the cursor disappearing from the screen. I have noticed that too, but my issue is that the mouse becomes temporarily detached from the game. It’s like GW2 gives up its mouse focus and lets the mouse run free on my Windows desktop until I click on the game window again. Does that make sense?
could it be something thats running in the background that is causing this maybe?
a pop up, messenger,or even something obscure like maybe auto update?
because thinking in general there isnt really a way for the game it self to lose focus of the cursor
however there are loads of things that will take focus from gw2 that are running in the background
next time it happens try see if anything on the desktop changed..
I think the main reason for ignoring the underpowered ranger class is this..
when the game first came out there would of been the goto class.. the ones people have played before.. In my opinion they wanted to shy people away from all going for the generic classes.. and get people more into the higher learning curve classes..
that being said ranger had it even worse.. botting
they are the perfect class for this and it being a new game they want the economy to thrive.. if the ranger was as good as the other classes then this would make botting even easier..
I think now all that has passed they will slowly bring the ranger up to par with the others while no one is looking..
im really sorry for bumbing an old thread but wanted to voice what i thought
the only complaints from micro managing pets are from high lvl dungeon runners this is mainly because pets get 1 shotted by mobs there..
if your doing anything else you never really need to micro manage
you dont have to spec for the pet you purely choose traits that only effect the ranger.. but if you ignore the pet altogether then your missing the point of the class and it’s advantages..

as a short term fix if your not using said extra monitor then maybe just turn it off for when your playing gw2.. not ideal but only thing i can think of apart from this..
maybe try changing the set up of the screens so they think they are on top of each other..
so to move to the other monitor you have to move your mouse to the top to switch screens..
might get abit of getting used too but might be a temporary fix till you find better
One thing I wanted to point out..
The reason for burning to be applied at the end of the skill is intentional..
as the flamethrower stops there is excess fuel which would be the burning..
I doubt that a flame can carry on burning plate metal after a few secs with nothing to sustain it..
so the burning can only happen at the end to burn the excess fuel
This has actually been happening to me. I am not using a master level sickle and I can not get anything besides Ruined Plant Fibers. Any fix? And no I am not in combat at all. This is happening in every zone I go to, no matter the level zone.
try using the highest quality sickle you can for your lvl..
have you tried a different build? if you are dying fast then you are properly a full on glass cannon..
try add some toughness and healing power to your build see how that works out
I used to die very fast.. but then i speced beastmastery bunker.. now it takes ages to kill me but i do admit that was a sacrifice to my dps..
if you dont spec right any class will die fast
