this is the bug i mean.. can your devs have alook at whats causing this.. as tring to find the problem can be very annoying..
iv’e found removing the .. from the posts in certain places stops this happening.. i think im just accidentally typing in a code like the bold or underline ones.. but to do with( .. )
phantasms are a standalone npc with their own hp and stats and they’re not clones…so i should be able to use them with F skills too since mesmers rely upon clones/phantasms as much as rangers on pets imo, but Anet doesn’t think so…the only class with this broken mechanic is ranger, and there’s still no reasonable explanation to it…
What about minion necro?
Problem with necro is that you have death shround on F so it’s not related to minions, i’m not asking for shatter while downed btw…i’m just asking why rangers CAN use F skills if downed while no other class can…
to mitigate the fact that our pets literally have to stop every time they want to attack.. so landing an attack with a pet.. is alot harder than you all think..
also the way the ranger is designed.. the pet does a large portion of our damage.. so removing f skills while downed for rangers hurts us alot more than some other classes..
and i know the couter argument will be x class relies on y to do a large portion of there damage.. difference is.. we cannot fight without a pet unless it dies.. everyother class can fight without that y being auto pulled into combat.. so that shows we are slightly different at the core level.. altho it may seem we are the same thing.. we are not..So you’re basically saying that mesmer doesn’t rely upon his clones and phantasms for his dmg and mechanics?

Why not both? I’m a balanced build right now running a little bit of catsassin and I use Healing Spring, QZ, Sic’ Em!, and Signet of the Wild in sPvP. There’s not a 1v1 I’ve lost this far. In mentioning catsassin, I’d hope me running jaguars would be pretty obvious.
stick 15 in NM swap the jag for the stalker, also take 10 in bm for mighty swap..
swap pet to stalker, f2, wait to cast.. QZ, sic’em.. that is a devastating combo if lands correctly..
p.s. take sigle of battle and wep swap for even more if you like

I was reading in another thread and it occurred to me.. why does the game automatically point out the real mesmer in downed state? surely the point of that skill was to confuse.. and have a 50/50 chance on killing the real one..
but as it is that whole concept is tossed down the drain when the game points out “look the real one is there” so that whole design for that skill is lost.. I dont play a mesmer but i think there downed state could use the indicator being removed.. maybe at the cost of a longer CD on duelist’s?
what traits are you using.. im guessing your on the more damaged focused side of things.. if thats the case then using signet of the wild for the heal is not a good plan as u wont have the healing power to make it useful,
if your using purly for pet damage.. then you need to consider this,
Signet of the Wild: increases pet damage by about 25% and provides it with Stability. Active effect lasts 8 seconds. 60sec CD – 1sec activation time
“Sic ’Em”: Increases damage and movement speed by 40% Duration: 10 s 40sec CD
so sicem has a lower CD higher pet damage bonus.. and give him +movement speed (vital for countering ppl kiting pets)
from my point of view sick’em wins hands down..
And many rangers keep saying…oh if you want to counter us you just have to l2p and kill our pets….

the main reason I can think of is this..
a ranger is the only pet mechanic class in the game end of..
the reason i say this is simple.. a ranger HAS to take his pet into a fight.. necro minions are optional.. clones on the other hand kinda have to be use/taken but they are just clones of you.. you go down.. technically they go down..
ranger is a different story.. we have a bond with a separate life for that is still alive if we go down.. and seeing as we have that bond.. he doesn’t want to see me die..

so let me get this straight u want different types of games in gw2 but they dont give it to you but what they give u is some lame kitten custom arena to setup ur rules so u can do basic stuff but you have to pay them… and you going to pay them anyway! oh and you also wana help them “beta test” by paying em!

the custom arenas as they are, are a fantastic base to work from.. think about it.. it took them some time to implement.. but now it’s here.. they have time for game modes.. atleast i hope so..
yes we are limited on game modes.. thats why I want to setup a server for 1v1 and improve on that with feed back idea’s..
giving some money back through this way is completely acceptable when they have a pay once and you can play for life kind of business plan..
they do listen, it takes time to add things in a certain order.. and im betting that the game modes are better off being developed after the custom arenas are built..

one thing that it needs for duel types of arenas are a roster for the next game..
having a mad dash to be on red or blue team at each game is no fun.. a turn based system.. king of the hill type.. would do wonders here..
well speaking for the ranger only.. thats a major trait investment to have that luxury..

edit: and warrior healing is well sub par.. so It cant hurt to let them healz a little bit
what wasn’t fair was the abuse of this mechanic.. a free reset button most never had the luxury of.. best to learn adapt to counter without it..

lag spikes… we all get them.. after patches it always gets worse.. there are so many times I dye to this alone.. full hp skill starts flashing and im on the floor pleading for my life..
what I find more annoying is skill queuing.. so many times I lose my downed 2 ability because I pressed 2 seconds before my death..
They need to add an animation to ranger pets so that when a BM ranger’s pet two shots you he proceeds to pee on your body to make a statement.
It’s not to make a statement… he’s just marking his territory as your now his biatch
ok after playing in a few custom arenas for 1v1 and 3v3 there were a few glaring thngs that could be changed to make them more sleek/functional, here are a few things I would like to see added.
Queuing for next game..
if the sever has been set up for 1v1 to be able to get to fight it’s a first come first sever to join red or blue team to play.. some sort of queuing system would make this problem go away,
being able to turn off nodes so the low score cap for 1v1 doesnt trigger if someone accidentally caps a node
separate spectators from player base,
if there are any polish improvements to customs you have come across feel free to post here
in higher lvls of play, walking out the gate and having your pet literately drop to half health just before you engage in a potential fight is game breaking.. pet swap just mitigates the fact that it is..
for ranger pets, when in a condition heavy pvp fight, if you are killed and the pet has heavy conditions on them, when you resurrect (spawn at waypoint) all of those conditions start ticking and I have to watch them eat my pets health before I even get out the gate.. please address this
probly just a programmer trolling but yeah so many things to fix.. im sure they have a back log of years worth of work already..

not just dyes, if your lacking mats for a certain recipe then you can convert them..
when trying for my orrian armor it took quite afew attempts to get.. without using the forge to get the slivers then i’d still be farming that set..

I have tried every combination of fighting a Ranger in downed state, going as far as testing it with a friend in an empty server. There is no combination for a Necromancer to beat a Ranger in a downed contest UNLESS
A) The Ranger was heavily damaged in down state
B) The Ranger made several mistakes
C) The Necromancer is traited with 50% more downed damage and high crit damage/precision.
That’s it.
A reply I have from a necro is this..
man, power necro beats everyone in downed.. 1k crits in 0.5 secs
save fear for pet
and just hit #1 on the ranger
when well is ready use it

so there u have it.. that was the combination I was talking about.. i may of worded wrongly saying it over rides healing.. it just interrupts, though when my pet runs back from being feared you think he would start healing again when he doesn’t it can appear that the necro’s life drain, steals the healing done by the pet.. or that was my first thought..

use all damaging abilitys on the ranger focus him ignore the pet for now.. wait for pet rez
fear pet.. life drain the hell out of the ranger..
this is all dependant on who is downed first btw.. as to who has access to downed skills first..
can a necro beat a ranger if both are put in downed state? im having a discussion on another thread and this guy swears down a necro cant do it..

You also have to remember that Fear doesn’t work on downed players, so Necromancer’s 2 skill is utterly useless in that aspect unless you pretend to be smart and fear the Pet off the heal, which doesn’t. work.
The poison is less effective than you think.
then why is it whenever im faced with being downed at the same time as a necro there is a life draining skill or something completely over rides any healing.. and i die.. im not sure on the exact skill but im certain, it’s just one that’s not commonly known to do that to our heal in downstate..
i think it’s either they are life draining me or the pet.. im not sure tho
There is no life draining skill that overrides your healing. Poison removes 33% of your heal’s effectiveness but that doesn’t matter since the Ranger pet heal is even stronger than that. Unless the Necro built entirely around downed state, I have no idea what you’re talking about.
thinking about it more closely it could be a combination of life leech and fearing my pet.. either way a good necro can beat a ranger when both in downed state.. it just depends on your level of play..

Then I get downed underwater. I’m punching and kicking this guy and all of a sudden his dead pet begins reviving him again (after the skill cooldown is up I would assume). He get’s res’d and I die.
Not only can I not stomp this dude, but his pet can revive him even when both are downed/dead?
What in the world…
altho i do admit underwater the heal can be strong.. the mechanic it self is sound.. it’s hard to have enough time in a normal ground fight to use it.. underwater you stopped the heal with the interrupt and when the timer was up on lick wounds he just reused the skill..
a little note on pets and lick wounds.. if you kill my pet before i use it.. when i use my downed skill lick wounds it will revive my pet instantly.. as so not to deny me my class mechanic if smart players decide pick on my pet just before i die..
That’s a poor justification for having an “Instant win any tie” skill.

p.s. stomping underwater is possible.. but is reserved for class test dummies.. if you dont believe me kite one into the water and let him kill you.. you will see the game allows underwater stomping in it’s current state.. altho the animation is lame

never destroy as stated above.. salvage for dust/mats then promote then to sliver with the forge
you definitely get free from salvaging tournament items, they seems to split the chance 50/50 between getting getting paid or free..
if your opening old boxes that might explain as they dont have the updated loot tables
a possibility could be that he got cloaked from traits normally and then maybe jumped off that cliff in the bk ground?
looks like you’re refining Chokolata’s Build that focuses on Sigil of Battle and might sharing. His is more for WvW than PvP though.
This is for PvP right? From what I see, the traits are all over the place I’ve never personally ran something like this so I could be wrong. Here’s a couple of questions I have:
they probly are.. i was focusing on pets and might and yes it’s for pvp
- How effective is Companion’s Might? Based tests, it only lasts for 1 second.
look at Companion’s Might closer you could probly drop it as it only works well with shortbow tbh
- If you remove 10 points from Skirmishing, where would you put it?
personally i would get the grandmaster traits in BM and NM and go for natural healing for some more survive and either add nature’s bounty or nature’s protection
- How good is your survivability? Rampager’s is 75% offense, and 25% defense. Add to that, you have no defensive abilities at all
have only been testing a short time.. and only tested in hotjoin.. it does very nice damage to spike fast.. but for that this particular build is very squishy as i was going for more max damage first.. then dial back for some survive

I see were your coming from..
In a real situation.. e.g when using for pvp a player wont hit nearly as hard so the pets up time will be longer.. that is unless your slap bang in the middle of a zerg..
the perceived set up time is not really there when fighting a real opponent.. you dont get to stand there and charge up.. the play style goes a lil something like this
mainly fight with the jaguar to grind down hp a lil bit, pet swap then cast mighty roar to get the gain from quickness, wep swap for more might.. burst target.. switch bk to jaguar when cool down is off wep swap.. rinse repeat
While the research is commendable, I don’t view this as very powerful:
(1) It’s only 10 seconds of might
with traits + runes it’s 18 secs of x10 Might that drops to x5 with 8 secs left
(2) It requires a long elite cooldown
elite not needed every time but helps with burst
(3) Jungle Stalker’s Mighty Roar is a 3 second cast
yea it’s long i’ll give you that.. but for x5 Might I kinda expect that
(4) The example was shown on an NPC and still resulted in a dead pet.
yes the pet is dead but did you see the damage he put out before he died?

the boon sharing is a must, with the jungle stalker it give x5 might for 10secs this is then shared with your pet
so you have x5 might for 10 secs
the pet has x10 might for 10 secs
with the traits and runes these times are longer..
a mode that could be interesting is battle of the bunkers in custom arenas.. where instead of a duel two players fight over 1 node for say 3 mins and see who can keep it contested the most..
this would be a battle of CC and could be quite fun to watch..
I think rallying needs to be removed. And the downed player needs to get an option to suicide since it could be abused by the attacker to try keeping them downed. Imagine 5 vs. 5 each with five different 1 vs. 1 (people fighting at different parts of the map) and one team winning all the 1 vs. 1… they could just leave them downed… let them bandage a bit.. and sometimes attack a bit not finishing them and not letting them rally or fully bandage.
yes you can keep people in downed state longer.. but as an abuse? no not really..
if you stop healing and just attack you die..
no need to “suicide” as that it self would be abused to get faster waypoint rallys so your solution try’s to solve a problem that doesnt really exist

I have “decayed” by 2 places since last night.. so there will be a decay from players over taking in the rankings.. other than that i know nothing on decay coding in there..

one tip for those being suppressed.. stop using the the up arrow to retype a message.. reword it and you wont get suppressed..

The “Sell Your Stuff” page remains empty, regardless if opened via TP menu (O) or when right-clicking an inventory item and select sell at trading post.
I have sell-able items in my inventory.
The buy button is also disabled.
Gem changing doesn’t work. My Gems are not shown in the TP window.Tried closing and re-opening it, still don’t work.
your most probly using a bag that prevents selling of items… try moving them to your backpack..

Sorry but that thing just looks cartoonish like something a little kid would think was cool and the buzz sound is downright annoying after 5 minutes of use (you can hear that thing above the zerg sound of 50+ people). Definitely disagree.
