Wednesday Aurora Glade/Gunnars Hold/Drakkar Lake, Eternal Battlegrounds was pretty laggy.

But I’m just going to go out there and say I’ve been experience skill delay more so than ever since the stability changes. So I’m doing the easy thing and just blaming that.

Anet has added a “How to Address Lag” guide: https://help.guildwars2.com/entries/91354558-How-to-Address-Lag

As you can see from the guide, you probably just need to update your drivers. I wish this was sarcasm, but the guide actually mentions updating drivers several times…

Yeah if it were only my machine and not server-side sigh. GG Anet take a long look at the last patch, and see where the coding went ploin-shaped. More than 60-ish players in an area = 5 second skill lag. Even ram skills won’t fire. Head to EotM, and there is zero problem even with 2 mapblobs clashing.

BLs = terrible lag with 60+
EotM = no lag with 100+
PvE = no lag with however many fit on those maps

Something wrong with that last patch that messed up the Alpine BLs(don’t play much EB so no personal knowledge of lag there except general complaining from some players I talk to).

Don’t want to bring my tin foil hat out or something, BUT THE STABILITEH CHANGES ARE TOO MUCH FOR THE SERVEEEEEEEEERS!

Eotm blobs are usually just happy-go-lucky upscaled characters with no use for stab! While the BL’s have bajillions of stab-using classes.

I’m not saying the changes should be reverted, but just create a rift between PvP balance, WvW balance and PvE balance.

And for the record, I’ve never seen a PvE group demolish a “Boss’s defiant stacks” to this day. You’re reasoning for the change was unfounded to say the least.

Suggestion: New Gamemode

Team Deathmatch, just with towers and siege and keeps and whatever else.

First of the three to lose 300’000 tickets (lives) or the one with the highest score at the end of the week wins.

Mid-week 300k gets will determine overtime, where a random debuff is thrown in for all the competing servers!

Map should be chock full of chokes and open-fields and things and ridges and canyons and mesas and plateaus and grasslands.

Too satisfy the devs’ PvE needs, throw in epically strong bosses in certain locations with a mobile patrol pattern. Server that gets the last hit will get a random buff!

Outnumbered players get regenerating supply and automatic siege blueprints placed on key points! And PvE mobs that players can’t rally off of!

Now, shoot me down and criticize my suggestion!

Main negative thing is: Players will not be able to play this game mode because the servers can’t hold the pressure of the bajillions of stabiliteh numbers flying around.

What metric would you suggest determined a winner?

Stability changes are meant to balance PvP not WvW

Did you play pvp recently? The only change in pvp is the elites transformations, that can no longer be boon stripped once and then be a giant glowing punching ball. But if it was the only fix they wanted, they could have had the old stability tick. Otherwise, in 5v5, wasting 10 cc abilities on a 6s stab is a complete waste: strip it, then use ONE cc and it’s more effective.

Colin said somewhere one of the idea behind the stability stacks was that in large scale fights, they found it lame that one guardian popping SYG meant five people could walk through any number of static fields, fear walls, mesmer pulls, etc.

Obviously Colin is a necromancer main that never gets stab.

“If I don’t get it, nobody can.” Kinda thing.

I’m wondering how some people functioned on the frontline before the change if the new stab is a deal breaker. Did you really just into the opposing train without worrying about evading damage and CC because of your stab? If so then the old stab needed to go because it encouraged bad habits.

Stab didn’t go anywhere, you actually have to be away of what’s going on around you now. Your shouldn’t be running blindingly into CCs in the first place. If anything you eat CC so your backline/damage can do its thing. Some peo0le act like it was their stab that was changed, not everyone’s.

The groups that adapt and don’t settle with this “pirate meta” (who the hell came up with that) are going to be ones who wipe the floor with zergs.

We had to run blindly into cc’s because we never wanted to look at each other for 15 minutes before actually pressing a single button. I’m playing GW2 for fun fast paced action-orientated combat. Not “yawn, have we pushed yet?” gameplay. I also dislike dying.

Players that main PvP are the ones favoring this update. Players that say this update is " a good thing because the meta is stale" are bad at WvW and haven’t played it “competitively”. As for the guilds that raid and do TDM in OS : PIRATE SHIP NEEDS TO BE SHOT DOWN, THANK YOU AMERICANS FOR MAKING IT MAINSTREAM. AND THANK YOU EGONIGMA FOR USING IT IN EU. ME AND TWO OF MY MATES DISLIKE YOU. A LOT.

Now before I get shot down and salted upon let me clarify : I’m just a paying customer that was just informed that my favored game mode has been changed quite drastically by altering one game mechanic. I don’t know the reason for this change as I felt that specific mechanic was well balanced as I never felt it was “OP” or a “Trash tier buff”. Only people maining WvW that are liking this update are the members of the less-used classes who think they’ll be relevant now.

Its a good change for the meta. It will hurt melee a lot and probably shift people to have more clever engages to avoid cc’s or make fights more ranged focused like they are now.

Its also going to help fight really big blobs a lot better by spamming CC’s that have no target limit to control them.

It’ll shift the meta to a pure NA one: Wait until enemy pushes in, drop everything and wait. The EU meta of melee trains clashing will be destroyed.

Yep at melee ranges that you can dodges block blind root chill and STUN to counter it. Stab is a passive game as it is stun is more of an active game or the more passive stuns lines etc.. are on very long cd.

You forgot you’re in a sea of red that are also doing this to you. Do you know you cant dodge when you’re immobilized? So all 5 warriors (leg specialist traited) just press one button and then F1 after. Guardian pair completely rekt.

This happens anyway, it should allow a smaller group to get more value for playing smarter.

It doesn’t happen if the smaller group can utilize their stability to chip away at the larger group without getting CC’ed and vaporized immediatly. I have video proof where smaller groups win larger ones. Unexperienced or tiny groups lose, because they do not utilize their boons correctly or evade damage correctly.

Its How I see it!
Maybe some new players complained because they saw their outnumbering blob getting killed by a guild group… and dev thought those people coming over once in a month were worth more attention than those who constantly make WvW fun.

How is throwing up stab before you bomb and having at least 2 gurds per pt skilled play? It could be that these small groups of mostly gurds are able to stay in the sea of red not because of skill but because stab is op.

Considering you have Indomitable Courage and Superior Aria traited you will have a maximum uptime of 19 seconds of stability(with 2 guards that is) and Stand Your Ground is on a 24s cooldown. It takes only one cc to catch you in that 5 sec downtime.

In that sea of red you are: Constantly being damaged and constantly running into CC.

Now tell me, how that requires no skill whereas a Ranger/Engineer(with specific traits) can damage you at more than 1.2k range? When a warrior can use Endure Pain + Berserker Stance and be immune to all damage for more than 4 seconds while still being able to DPS?

Do you even know how much things you have to keep track of if you’re a guardian? Eg. Does your party have stab? Does your party need heals? Where can I place my consecrations so that my allies can profit most of them? Every class takes skill. The guardian just more so in organised WvW.

This “zerg” gameplay is the reason why Gw2 is fun. If I wanted roamer fights I’d go play PvP. It’s a 80 man cap per side for a reason.

Outnumbered fights are possible! It’s just bad players that cannot adapt to their circumstances that qq about “the sea of red” (Was not referring to you as a bad player, Phantom). This is a change that bad players will profit from.

You guys do realize they’re making guardians useless compared to warriors?

Anet ruins another game mode that the GvG community have worked their kitten off to get where they are.
They’re throwing away the money, time and dedication the GvG community gave to their gamemode.

Its needed badly stab alone was a hard counter to entire classes. Nothing like being an ele getting immune from a good bit of there effects its as if you where not even casting spells most of the time.
Now will this changes any thing it may but it looks like stab not going to last long so it maybe a very well timed effect BUT it seems that it maybe going on a much lower cd. So at the end of the day some one who knows how to play is going to stab a lot better then thoughts who do not and it really should be that way.

How could you possibly think that? It’s an extremely short duration when applied to allies and mediocre when applied to yourself. It doesn’t hard counter anything and this WILL RUIN THE WHOLE META OF GVG, guardians will become USELESS when compared to Warriors now. And it’s going to remove all needed skill. Just spam stability as much as you want.

It’s game over for WvW.

Anet will reduce WvW to pure ppt and/or roaming. Melee classes will be destroyed in large scale fights. So people wont run melee anymore! Ergo, no zergs or guilds.

Stacking all the servers isn’t going to work. Some people have “server loyalty”. Which would only create salt on the mashed-up servers. Also most of this thread handles about NA’s “problem” with T3 and T2 and doesn’t really take into account that most (EU) silver league servers are quite happy with their situation.

(I’m from EU btw and afaik most of the servers are happy about their situation, except maybe the lowest tiers.)

Your “solution” isn’t going to solve anything, only create more queues.

Keep the Ultimate Dominator how it is, you americans should just learn how to have fun, Less PPT more PPK! And I know what I’m talking about cos EU has a over abundance of Ultimate Doms and our own rank 10k (bless his grindy heart), but I haven’t heard of ultimate dominators on NA nor have I heard of people that speak about them.

So leave your sentry stacking to night shifts and go enjoy the glorious GW2 combat system like a good zergling.

Why did someone revive this thread? Also there are 10+ people that have Ultimate Dominator. Sacrx for example made 6-7k kills in a day when RG was still rolling. Yakslapper is impossibruh and so is everything else, but Ultimate Dominator is easy as balls to get.

yea in t1 its surprisingly common to see enemy groups run, even if the numbers are balanced, Im not really sure why but I will say this particular server doesnt like to fight open field unless they outnumber 2or3 to 1 lol

Day 836273563 of the Ranger plague.

Get onto EB.
Enemy server have nice and beeg blobs running around, obviously having fun.
I go to our local Dorito.

Dorito is an upscaled ranger.
I look at the blob. More upscaled rangers.

I start roaming and what do I find? Level 80 rangers with bears.

I lack the range/gap closers to get close to fight said ranger.

Entangling roots seem to be gripping me. I get bugged into stasis.

I say " Ranger mains should get Ebola."

The 3 other people playing non-cancerous proffessions say “Amen.”, “Fook yes!”, “Yup.”

I log onto my guardian. Have nice fight with roaming thief. A large dog howls. I use Shelter. I get immobilized and die after the 12451678175 projectiles hit me in a timespan of 0.000000000069 seconds.

RIP.

I’ve never been so angry/frustrated/dissapointed in this game my entire life. I’ve enjoyed my time. Butt seriously. What the kitten???

EDIT: 2 on Kodash aswell? unfair tbh.

I dunno about you but every EU guild that a dev chose is WvW dedicated (as far as I know). And about the 2 on Kodash those just happen to be 2 of the best WvW/GvG guilds in EU. So yeah. Not unfair. They’re just better.
