Is it intended for us to not be able to salvage/mystic forge exotic weapons/armor from the vendors in WvW? I’ve been looking and can’t seem to come up with any reason why this is the case. It would be nice to have the ability to recover a sigil from one of my weapons since i’ve changed my build but I can’t because it was bought from a WvW vendor

Well looks like JQ has received [Agg], [NS], and now an EU guild named [GD]? Not sure why everybody is stacking T1, its going to suck during ‘Leagues’ when 5 weeks out of 6 youll be fighting ghost town servers. Guilds should spread out instead of stacking T1 servers.

You say that but BG and SoR have more numbers than JQ.

Im not so sure about that anymore. Your SEA is massive, you now have a big EU, and your NA has big kitten NS/Agg/SF/HzH/SG/etc zergs.

Youre on par if not bigger now.

I agree that our NA is on par now. We have one EU guild that fields 25-30. SoR outnumbers us in EU and Sea and Oceanic. We are not trying to overstack at all we just want to be competitive.

SoR only has IRON during EU as of now and fields 30 while other guilds are on breaks. Outnumbered in SEA by SoR? Don’t kid yourself, please. JQ has the best SEA coverage. Guilds like GGYY reinforced you guys not too long ago with 30+ even when your SEA coverage was best. Now, you get guilds like Agg, NS and TKG in NA and Oceanic. You’ve little right to play the outmanned card anymore.

Yeahh, okay. IRON does not field 30. I’m sure on some days they have fielded 30, but the majority of the time there is more than 30 following them. Did you forget about KISS? They were in wvw yesterday. I would also like to say that SoR DOES have more SEA forces than JQ. Sure, JQ pulls off one big ATM zerg, but what about SoR’s SEA groups who are more spread out? Not to mention you got a new transfer that plays during SEA.

BG is even taking a hit during SEA since [ND] (Never Die) had a big issue with their guild being deleted and they aren’t pulling enough people into wvw currently. We lost [Meow] (not a BIG deal, I know) and [Thai] doesn’t rally as a guild in wvw anymore.

I’m sure SoR SEA has noticed all this.

You have no idea what You’re talking about. Yes, ATM has one huge zerg of 60+. ATM fields around 30+ of their guildies, but Waha pulls all the pugs in naturally. JQ often has a HUGE militia group in EB everytime, with around 40+. Don’t even get me started with Ge, TKG and GGYY. These guilds usually field 20 on an average.

Again, can you guys not do simple math on SoR? Lets be modest and just say GC/SAHP/SONG field only 10 per guild, plus NYS’s 30. we’re at 60. Hmm looking pretty solid there huh? Now toss in those IRON/TW/CHOO that extend into that timezone too and my goodness we’re growing much bigger aren’t we?! You guys are so kitten delusional its disturbing. We may have a slight number advantage but its no where near how you’re trying to portray it.

Just finished reading through all 12 pages. Thanks to everyone for 12 pages of positive and constructive feedback. Keep it up and keep in mind these are updates from just the skills team so try to focus on skills traits and other combat related stuff.

See what happens when you guys open up a bit and communicate more fluidly with the community? Yeah, that whole approach of “we cant tell you anything, but we’re working on stuff” never works. To be completely honest, if you guys say what you’re trying to do and open it up with discussion there will be very little backlash if you clearly explain why it didnt end up being put in the game. People won’t QQ nearly as much as you think if you guys worked this way. It may take a bit more effort on your end, but the community will be much more receptive and actually get the feeling you’re at least doing something while listening. The sooner you guys drop that approach totally is the day this game really starts to move to the places it can go.

I was chatting on twitch to the guy from EP streaming the other night when they fought AGG and I figured it’d be good to post here on the subject as well. I fully support GvG, its extremely fun to watch. But the way some of you act about this is pure childish and extremely selfish.

Firstly if you guys ever want to be taken seriously then you need to stop the antics like spamming GW2’s twitch chat when they hold these live streams. You can say you’re bringing attention to GvG that way, but its the wrong type of attention. Most people see you spamming that nonsense and think “Wow these guys are pretty childish for spamming the chat box with this stuff”. There are better and more constructive ways of trying to get this game type added into the game where it wont be effected, etc. If you guys actually organize yourselves and do it in a professional manner you might be taken seriously instead of “lolz #magswag #yolo brah #gvg”. No that doesn’t make you cool, it makes you look stupid. Its fine to be passionate about something, and to strive to improve the community that you enjoy and love but seriously theres better ways to approach this subject.

Secondly on to the difference…like I said earlier I fully support GvG but why do people fail to realize WvW is not GvG? The only place you can do GvG is in wvw, I realize that, but you have to realize WvW was not developed for the sole purpose of GvG fights. If it was there wouldn’t be any towers, no keeps, no ppt, etc. You guys have to come to a understanding that anet is trying to develop that game type, and if it effects GvGs well thats just something you need to adapt to until GvG is given its own area/map/or what ever they plan to do. Like I said, I know GvG can only be done in WvW but you guys just need to give it time, you may be feeling ignored but i’m sure anet hears you guys.

Lastly this kind of touches on the first topic I was speaking about, but it also comes back to trying to get a general understanding to the GvG community. If I wasnt a fan of GvG and I had been watching some of the twitch streams, or saw how some of you guys act on the forums I swear a ton of you emulate veruca salt(think back to willy wonka). You guys want everything and you guys want it now, sadly thats not how things work in the real world. Why do you guys deserve anything with the way some of the community acts? I understand that they don’t represent the whole community, and theres also people who act completely different, but the most vocal ones truly portray you guys in a negative manner. I know that not everyone can understand this, and I know people will probably get all kitten with what I said but its simply the truth.

All in all, I really hope that Anet does eventually respond and develop a map purely dedicated to GvG, possibly like the jump puzzles as in separate map you can jump to. Or even a game type worthy of the GvG community to play. I think that GvG’s are more entertaining to watch that spvp and theres a lot more dynamics going on with movement, combo fields, etc. Hopefully you guys take this as advice and as me trying to help your community rather then in a offensive manner as i’m really rooting for you guys. And if i’ve offended you, too bad I don’t care anyway.

We are aware of this, but it is a non-trivial fix. We are hoping to make changes to this by the end of the year.

The day you guys introduce a nerf to sigils that are working completely fine because some people are QQing like usual is the day myself and tons of other people lose the little faith we have left for this game type. Stop nerfing/changing things that aren’t game breaking because people think its creating some magical unfair advantage when it isn’t. Everyone has the ability to obtain these items and do exactly what they’re complaining about, it’s not our fault they aren’t and we are.

I’ve enjoyed fighting Maguuma out of all of the servers we’ve fought mainly because the individual skill your players have is impressive. Much respect goes out to you guys. just popping in to say that the level of sportsmanship and class displayed by both jade quarry and dragonbrand (particularly the latter) has been pretty terrible so far. for players never seen outside of zergs/full guilds they’re sure fond of the /emote commands.

But actually, thinking about it more, Arcing/Rush/100b. All those could be moved, but what would it do?

What if the CD on 100B was reduced and it moved to 5? WHat would happen if 100B went to burst and Arcing went main bar?

Heres a better idea. Change 100B to whirling blades, have it aoe like #5 with an offhand axe, have a buff where the player is immune to blinds. This frees up people having to rely on stun locking and trying to 100B. This also gives players the option of still being able to move away from the damage, so you dont have people screaming its OP. Slightly reduce the overall damage by 5-10%. With doing this you might see people playing a bit differently instead of almost every warrior doing bulls charge, frenzy, endure pain and 100b.

It was this exact type toxic environment that we were trying to get away from on JQ. We did not ever say in public such a thing to prevent any fall out from it but that is the plain and simple truth. It’s one of the major reasons we moved.

I dont typically post on these things because quite frankly I dont care that you or your guild left. But if you’re going to try and say our community was toxic thats only because YOU put that wedge there. YOUR guild was the one going around insulting the casuals or “pugs” calling them “rally trains” and what not. YOUR guild was the one who didnt want anyone other than your guild mates running around with you. YOUR guild were the ones that instead of trying to help improve the server or explain to people things you instead claimed it was a “lost hope”. I have to say this is a breath of fresh air and the new match up is very much welcomed. I enjoyed the many fights on TC BL last night from both TC and FA, was nice not constantly running into 50 man blobs. Thank you guys for the fights and i’m looking forward to the many more we’ll have this week.

I dont blob and I surely dont zerg, very rarely do I ever support the zergs JQ produces. Where are these smaller groups? Having at least 20 people constantly might be a small group to you, but to others it isnt.

Just need 240 more tokens from TA, I had 44 clovers, last night Balthazar was taken so zoomed over grabbed more shards, ended up with 67 clover, just before i ported back to get more, server resets, Balthazar is contested again(now that is kittening mad) Guess gotta wait 5 more days to take it again lol.

Theres been hundreds of these threads, the only response is anet doesnt want people focusing on UI more than the games it self. The point being though, who hasnt seen each WvW map enough? We got it, you made a very beautiful game, now develop some things that we’d actually want. If I wanted to stare at the landscape i’d go out to a PVE map, myself and others are in WvW for a reason and thats simply not it, sorry.

It seems as though anet doesnt listen, plain and simple. They have a plan and they’re going to stick with it. Their plans may change from time to time, but overall player feedback seems to rarely seep into it. Theres been SO much constructive feedback that players have given on MANY levels to help better this game and it falls upon deaf ears..and thats really sad.

To sum it up though, i’m with ya. I just wish people at anet were too.

In the next build we’ll be implementing exits that allow you to turn around and leave through the portals behind you. Hopefully that will help.

What about making the platforms a invulnerable area like the spawn. This would stop that issue and make people stop camping out the bottom of the portals.

Can you show me where every JQ poster is sulking? You speak of teaching lessons, let me give you one. Once you take a step back and realize that a fraction of posters from each server don’t represent the views of the server as a whole you’ll be worthy of holding a conversation with. While there is a selection of posters from JQ QQing and saying nonsense like usual theres a large amount of BG chest thumping in here. BG as a server has a right to be happy for winning twice in a row. Congrats from one wvw’er to another. To the second question, I play for my own reasons. A portion of my friends have stopped playing or have moved to different servers already, i’m where I am because I want to be. I’d still be on JQ and continue to go out and fight the good fight even if we imploded and sank to T8. I never said it couldnt happen, its just something I dont see happening right now. Would I still have motivation to play? Of course I would, everyone plays the game for their own reasons, winning WvW isn’t why I play this game. If my style of play couldn’t be met in the lower tiers its possible i’d leave but i’m not in that situation at the moment. If other guilds/people want to leave thats on them, I have no ill feelings towards them at all because at the end of the day they need to do what makes their time enjoyable on this game. If that means moving to another server with their friends/guild then so be it. Like I said though, this is just my opinion, many others may/will see it differently.

Also i’m sure HoD/SBI/SoS have good communities, then again i’ve never been there so I cant honestly judge them. My statement was regarding the way all of those servers have placed higher than us, had better coverage, etc. Well we continued to prove to ourselves and everyone else we’re competitive even if we’re not ranked number one. We’ll still put up great fights as i’m sure BG/SoR will as well, thats what I’m looking forward to.

BG was impolding at the time and was on their way to T2. They ate another server and now are no longer imploding, but that does not mean they were doing fine 2 weeks ago. Your comment is kind of stupid.

JQ’s PVE forces would also like to thank Kaineng as they can now all easily get blue vistas and POIs apparently. So I guess the question now is “how long til sea of black kainengs implodes!?!”

Actually the more interesting question is how far will JQ fall now that both EMP and FoO have left? They’ve now lost first place (not just the week, the rank) and all the fair weather players are going to abandon ship (either to PvE or to another server). The easy wins appear to be gone, so the buffer of players they enjoyed from that are a luxury no longer around and the guilds are going to have to work harder to stay in tier one, let alone win it. That’s something a lot of JQ isn’t used to. It’s going to get ugly (you can see the frustration on GW2Guru already) and as hard as the guilds might try to make up for the loss of numbers, people get sick of over time.

Rush to recruit because if the dominoes keep falling like they have been these last few weeks, the next time JQ will be green might be in tier two.

I know youre new, having just bandwagoned to BG and all, so I’ll tell you something funny. JQ lost in T1 pretty much since the game launched til 2 months ago. Losing now isnt going to change much about the server, theres still just going to be a bunch of guilds with low numbers and tons of PVE people who run from fights half the time. Even if 3 servers super stacked and we went to T2 I doubt the JQ community would change much.

But I did hear about a devious plan for all of JQ to move to BG and clog up their Q’s til they get tired of it and disperse. On the even more positive side, this will also give us lots of room to recruit more guilds before we all ninja transfer back in the middle of the night when theres like 4 people playing.

I was like you once. I thought it would never happen to my server, we have a proud history, we are not fair weather, we always fight hard when behind and can handle losing etc etc

The problem is that once a server reaches the top and has tasted the large amount of victories, it becomes corrupt and is more susceptible than ever to collapse. Like a poisoned chalice.

What do HoD, SBI and SoS all have in common? They were the 3 most successful servers in tier 1.

Who succeeded them? Jade Quarry.

Is Jade Quarry immune to collapse? Prior to their success you would say yes, afterwards, I’m not so sure.

The majority of the loyal guilds and players who have been there from day dot, and have been there through the hard times have left SBI and SoS within a short timeframe, the same can happen to JQ or any other server and SoS proved it can still happen after the end of free transfers.

We lose one week and now we’re having this impending collapse? I’ve been on JQ since the start, we’ve won and lost our fair share of T1 matches. I WvW daily and see the same people i’ve seen through out our victories and defeats and I doubt that will change. Any outsider can claim this or claim that, the facts are you’re not a part of our community so you’ll never know just how strong we really are. We’re not HoD/SBI/SoS, we’ve proven to be the most stable competitive T1 server in history even if we’re not first. But go ahead, continue with these implosion comments its time for me to bust out the popcorn and watch the show

I agree with this, the people on the stream were pretty terrible. At least in the patch before there was someone bold enough to ask, “Isn’t that a bit strong?”.

Huge changes to wvw and they presenters were just like “ok”.

I think the WvW community should have a representative on the panel.

I’d love for that happen, and you’re correct, you have people who refuse to ask difficult questions to the devs every time they do this. I mean after the devs left you heard them chime in a bit more about the changes. They should have done that while the devs were on.

I mean its cool we can get some general information from these sotg’s and such but theres wvw players that have wvw specific questions. If you play the same game I play you, should know that these numbers (not just the one you highlighted but all of them) can only be pulled off on a very low lvl player <30 in WvWvW, on a lvl 80 fully geared, even if he is a glass cannon spec in berserker gear, you will never be able to do such dmg.

FYI side strike gives 7% crit chance not dmg and if you are able to down ANYONE by spamming HS i would LOVE to duel you and prove you wrong.

When I get time i’ll jump on and try to grab some for you against some lvl 80s, of course backstab wont nearly be 17k, and steal/cnd will probably be around 5-6k with a following backstab of 6k+. If you even read my post I said granted this person was “upleveled”.

I posted it for a simple reason, the fact that irregardless of being upleveled, at level, a thief can still do massive single target burst, most of the time equaling some builds practically close to being one shot. Similar to the “100 nades” build that the engis had. So heres a few more screen grabs of at level 80 characters, first one is what I believe a gc necro, he was down instantly after this. The 2nd of a tanky ranger, that went down shortly after the steal/cnd/backstab, oh and I didnt spam HS on either of them – Funny thing is they’re relatively close to what I said they would be on a 80 character in my other post, then again I dont know what i’m talking about, you’re clearly the thief god.

Backstab thieves will always insta-kill bad players, or those who do not know how to counter thieves. What you’re showing is pretty much the first posts that were in this forum of whiners.

Oh without a doubt, I totally agree with you. The reference I was trying to make was that its similar to the 100 nades build with the amount of burst is such a small time frame if you’re successful

Because there is play in thief burst. There is play there, and that spike isn’t a single attack that’s 150% your max HP in damage. Thieves need to execute a series of skills in a row, in which at any time the victim has the potential to mitigate or have some sort of play to save themselves or stop the thief. You just don’t see that with the 100nades stuff, or its a window so narrow that we as devs weren’t happy with the play from both sides of the equation as attacker/defender.

And unlike backstab burst, 100nades required a setup of Net Shot or Magnet or else it would be impossible to land. Precasting CnD->Steal->Backstab can be done almost instantly. Both are instagib burst builds with very little opportunity for the defender to do anything about it, but 1 got removed while the other remains.

Are you serious? I’m 100% sure you have never played a thief. Backstab can only be used from the back while in stealth, meaning you will ALWAYS see it coming and it requires more than just steal/cnd/backstab if you want to reach that kind of damage. The only way it’ll stun is with the elite basilisk venom which means you’re using up at least 1 utility slot and the elite slot. One stun break and it’s all wasted.

On my own thief I hit blinding powder and I win the fight. That’s how “OP” the backstab spec is.

Are you sure you play a thief? Backstab can be used on a target in ANY position, front/back/side from stealth, though you get double damage while hitting from behind. You can also trait side strike to get an extra 7%.

And for the record, for those who say you cant take down someone instantly with steal/cnd/backstab heres a screen shot. Granted the person was a lvl 62 mesmer(he added me to party) and upleveled in wvw, this guy was done in one shot. I’m full glass cannon and really have no issue hitting 7k+ on light armors level 80s in wvw, and if I want to be a big scrub like 90% of the thiefs out there i’ll just spam HS and have my target dead in the matter of a few seconds.

Also for those who say cluster bomb doesnt hit hard, you’re completely delusional, a 6k+ crit constantly and with the ability to spam it(when you have the initiative) is just as bad/if not worse than the “100 nades” build.

It’s something we’re absolutely aware of and want to address in the future, one of my main characters is an engineer so I feel ya on this one. My poor quaggan backpack is visible like 2% of the time I play as I kit swap, never mind my weapon skins.

We’re currently focusing our engineering (programmers, not guys with net guns) resources that could work on solutions to issues like kits/skins on major systems that address issues higher priority and wider reaching like lag in large battles, LFG, custom arenas, spectator mode and so on but this issue is absolutely on our radar.

As always, please post your ideas of what you’d like to see solution wise, we love to see the fun ideas y’all come up with too!

I’d like to have audio sounds for blunderbuss/overcharged shot with the predator. Not only that but i’d like to see the aura fixed that emits from it. I’m not sure if its an asuran problem or engineer problem but my aura is extremely small. I’ve seen warriors that have their entire body surrounded by it. The aura also seems to just disappear/reappear when ever it wants which is a bit disappointing as well.
