There is a way to critique a build without the negative impact to the thread that I’m seeing here. For a bunch of people that think everyone should play the correct way, it’s pretty ironic that the positive critique being provided is suggesting to use spirit weapon and burning builds. Come off it already. The intent is clear.

I don’t think they care much about pve diversity and builds but if they reduce vigor accessibility it will either make people play with 2 guardians at a minimum or make people play as a ranged profession. Or just play a warrior who has more dodges than elementalist with perma vigor.
Let me get this clear. People should try my newest build 2.0 (thanks Nike for the feedback!) before they can evaluate it and say it’s really good and stays ahead of the curve. And to do this, you need to spend your money on the new shiny equipment, preferably ascended one.

they already do. they get buffs that halve condition duration, already totally hosing condition builds, which all have a cap or unreasonable limits. Your suggestion would ruin all the condition builds that already have a handy cap.
Snares, you feel that is an issue? Are you not familiar with how defiant works?
I feel like we are either talking about different games or you confuse snares (soft cc) with stuns (hard cc). Condition damage builds have nothing to do with range weapons and they are maybe a couple of bosses who have decreased condition duration.

Give mobs and bosses fast leaps, condition removal so they can remove snares and make them aggroing ranged players more often.
Please enlighten us as to which exploits people are using everywhere in dungeons. I know a couple in Arah, and some bosses have afk spots where you can plink away at them from a distance, but that actually slows you down often, so those don’t bother me.
Most dungeon paths in the game are pretty exploit-free.
Dodging, using reflects, stacking, using zerker gear, only melee, the usual.
It increases your burning damage by 5% too. That’s how the rune works. So long as a ghost weapon pet is up.
Are you sure it increases condition damage as well?
I would probably rune ranger runes so you get the 5% buff from your ghost weapon pets.
But it doesn’t increase burning damage.
Last time I did this fractal was about 2-3 weeks ago but I’m fairly sure that if you leave cultists they still “heal” the seal and if you wipe after killing two of them at any side it resets properly. It was fixed few patches ago.
Another thing, Anet fixing this making it properly reset tells me they don’t see it as an exploit.
I wouldn’t worry about them changing this trait. If they nerf our access to vigor, they will probably do so across the board. Except for warriors.
Class balance in GW2 is like Arenanet trying to solve a Rubik’s Cube. But the only side they are working on is warrior and they don’t see how scrambled the other sides keep getting.
I would worry.
The Guardian and Mesmer vigor traits are something that were on the table and will be on the table for change in the future. We don’t like those traits being that easily accessible. While they haven’t yet been changed as long as our thoughts don’t change internally they are part of the vigor rework we want to do.
Nike, what do you think of my newest build? Does it warrant creating new thread where everyone could give some feedback? I’d love to hear some positive thoughts about it, I’m pretty sure this build will be new meta based on the recent comment from Jon Peters about increasing viability of condition damage builds.

And yes, the npc’s stack 25 frenzy on them all day long. That’s just dumb..
You wouldn’t get one shot without a nearby zerg. Blame scaling algorithm.

Agreed with OP, champ farming should be discouraged. Spamming 1 in your blob shouldn’t give you so much gold.

Biggest downside though, when using Zerker gear with a classic 15/30/0/X/X you become extremely squishy (11k HP, 2100 Armor), as much as a Ele/Thief. Pretty much every boss in FoTM past lvl 28 will one shot you. Same for some dungeon bosses. It’s a very hard gameplay to learn at first.

Did u try full berserker ele in dungeons and fotm? With no points on water u have 11k hp at lvl 80 i play 0-10-0-30-30 and i have to be very smart and fast or i m death, i have to use 3 defensive utility or i m death… and this is my dps build… doesent look so much dps but a death one make 0 damage.. i ve played with other eles with more dps build and i ve spent my timeto ress him… i have also a war and a guard at lvl 80 war is zerk too its really another world… open the lfg tool and u will see lf zerk war/mesmer for any content ppl lf ele only for bow on ac… i play ele since bwe its my main class… spvp is different i know but dpsing on pve atm its freaking hard also with my defensive dps build. So this patch wont work on dps pve contents or u do some modify on build like i wrote before o u have to design the mob attakking differently or i will go to play war if i wanna dps and guard if i wanna give support on team… i dont wanna play ele support i want dps with him

You have problems surviving with 0/10/0/30/30?
First of all, any action-MMO can be summarized as DPSing and dodging sometimes. Also, the DPS spam is basically inevitable. You can’t make open world content challenging, you can only make them epic, as proven by Tequatl, a boss which can probably be done through the use of 80 macros can’t be done by 80 people in a PUG.
Also, there’s plenty of content which certainly isn’t DPS/dodge, its just that the players found a way to completely exploit spawn timers to play the game in a way it wasn’t designed to be played/harder content not being rewarding enough so everyone just spams all the faceroll dungeons.
Try going into a very high level fractal/Arah P4/TA Aetherpath etc with full zerker gear whilst facerolling and see what happens.
Also, next time anyone wants the trinity back, stare at your monitor for a hour straight. Bored? That’s the experience I always get in every game trying to do anything as a DPS.
I’m pretty certain you are responding to the wrong person.
It’s not that difficult. You just need to know what to do. Dying again and again isn’t really a solution for anyone. So just watch this video explaining how to do it.

Anyone bringing 10/30/30/0/0 into pve should consider practical application of said build, not theoretical spreadsheets.
I’ve been doing the world bosses since before they gave decent rewards, heck I remember soloing Golem mk2 because nobody would bother with it. That was fun and so is killing it with a big group of people:)
Every stationary boss like golem mk2 is as fun to kill as killing golems in the mists. Killing them with zerg is even more fun. Don’t take it personally but zerging dummies called “world bosses” is not my cup of tea. I honestly cannot grasp what is fun in using your skills on recharge while standing in safety and not reacting to anything the boss is doing. This is almost like playing typical mmo as an dps character except you can press alt-tab.
Tyler, what about making elemental attunement 15 minor trait in arcana? Warriors have very strong trait right there in discipline line. That would also be in line with other 15 minor traits that trigger only on attunement swap.

I usually hit 2-0 also when killing a world boss, it makes for more fun gameplay and kills the boss faster. You should try it!
Hitting a dummy is similarly engaging despite the amount of keys you press. Plus, half of people are doing exactly same thing meaning your own increase of dps practically doesn’t contribute as much as you’d like. You should try to guest on empty servers with a few friends and do those bosses with 5 people tops. That’s fun, not zerging.
Staff is the horrible choice for dungeons. I’d advise to stay away from it as much as possible.

I’m glad they posted that, but them not saying anything about elemental attunement, cleansing wave, renewing stamina… Doesn’t mean that they’re not still going to move those to master tier… Unless we can get confirmation on more of the things we’ve discussed…?

- Windborne Dagger is going to function outside of combat.
- Soothing Disruption is moving to master tier.
- Cantrip Mastery is moving to adept tier.

Yeah and the other five professions have nothing like that. At least you have the option for permanent Vigor at all. If a Warrior wants permanent Vigor, they’re going to need 20 points into Tactics, an additional 40% boon duration and a Warhorn offhand. Put that trait of yours for 20 points for Warrior into just about any traitline and people would sing praise.
The December 10th patch is also going to reduce the Vigor access of a Thief to half of what it is right now.
This is actually funny you brought warrior as an counter example. Every decent pve warrior build has 4.5 dodges every 20s, elementalist with perma vigor has 4. Warrior can also spend adrenaline to get another dodge and let’s not mention 8k more hp, more passive damage reduction and more blocks. They don’t need vigor at all.
Dungeon requires organisation, I agree. Skill, nope.
Dungeon takes 5 friends to be organised. A champ farm organises 10+ random players.
Finally someone who saw the light. Open world content is very skillful, demands massive organization and is very time consuming.
Berserker’s gear works everywhere in pve, not just dungeons. Saying that just dungeons team failed is a bit too far streched, whole anet gameplay design team failed. Also thank “everyone gets rewarded for his participation” for very deep end game content in open world.
Don’t assume I said that healing was the full spectrum of support. Healing is cherished by many, its a shame its botched in this game.
But you want healing power buffed. This game doesn’t need more passive or reactive play than it already has.
We were obviously talking about PvE, and I didn’t mention it to brag, I merely intended to say that it’s very possible for a staff ele to survive in melee for at least a short while. People seem to think that just because you have 1200 range you must remain at 1200 range at all times and that’s just not true. My average range during dungeons is between 200 and 700 so everyone can make the most use of my boons, heals and combos.
Dungeons are child’s play, try high level (60+) fotm.

you are completely right. Everything you say is right. You know what is good and bad for this game. you know it all. Me, many elementalists, and the a-net balancing team are clearly wrong.

Indeed, everyone knows that ele is decent as a Jack of All Trades. That’s why:
- every single serious team in pvp has an elementalist
- every decent dungeon team uses eles because they are versatile, not because they are might stacking bots spamming 1
- every wvw zerg uses eles for their versatality, not because they are water field spammers
They screwed up on the 4 stat combos on the ascended trinkets, you think they won’t on a global scale? Zerker cant be fixed directly in any way. Things that Anet should have been working on from the get go to avoid what has happened is…
1. Rework Defiant on bosses
2. Improve the Healing Power coefficient on skills in PvE. They are doing this but at a snails pace.
3. Make condition builds less horrible in PvENumber 3 is actually the tough one. Due to server limitations its hard to rework how condition stacks work.

Could you please elaborate? Because doing proper speedclear like those require more input than zerging in wvw. Otherwise, we’d have more competition.
And why did you put word ‘orr’ there? Lastly, pvp cannot be combared on “hardest thing” scale because it’s not pve.

In what aspects may I ask that lower-populated servers are healthier ones for PvE?
In terms of efficiency/progression, I can’t imagine finishing most living story metas (at least under a reasonable amount of time) without a zerg, especially MK’s lab.P.S @OP, I am all for it.
If you have at least 1-2 friends, almost every content is doable and it’s much more fun than pressing 1 together with 100 people ignoring every single mechanic anet designed and then complaining on the simplicity of this game. The best part is that you can actually complete meta events faster than with your typical zerg if you put some effort into it.
Lastly, anet will not merge 3 servers into 1 because of wvw matchmaking issues.
If it takes 0 skill, why don’t you do it?
Also, oh the irony… A champ train farmer complaining that dungeon running takes 0 skill. It’s almost painfully ironic…
