there are no zergs there, because peopel on the low populated servers know that they are low populated and due to this simply aren’t interested in WVW at all, because they know they lose so or so anyway always.
But if you merge servers together to increase the overall population for everybody on the affected merged servers, people on the merged server could gain more interest in WVW, because they have then the manpower to come up with competitive zergs …
I meant zergs in pve which are the cancer of this game. Empty servers are the most healthy ones in pve.

Most eles use this trait. You said you wanted to discourage putting points into arcane, but every ele who only had 10 points will now have to jump up to 20.
Every ele player I know that has just 10 points in arcana use renewing stamina, not elemental attunement.

Sure, but that doesn’t apply to everyone so speaking in absolutes is debatable. I think it’s easy to forget that there is a segment of the population that don’t run engineered teams and I’m certain the correlation between people running non-engineered teams and those that would consider this build is pretty high.
Most of my guild does not run engineered teams either. Everyone is welcomed.
I’m not saying that Mesmers deserve to have better endurance regeneration than other classes. But Mesmers certainly are a class which need it more than others. I also feel that ANet made a wrong call on the Elementalist. Moving the trait to Air or Fire might would have been a wiser choice. But I’m so tired of arguments which basically break down to “They took my toy, so others do not deserve to keep theirs!”. And that’s basically what is going on right now. Everyone crying for nerfing Guardians and Mesmers endurance regeneration because theirs got nerfed.
I would say it’s true that other professions are asking for vigor nerfs for mesmers and guardians, I do not think those professions have trouble with survivability, unlike elementalist for instance. Not only its vigor trait was 10 major, instead of 5 minor, you still had to get critical chance for better uptime. And now it’s going to be even worse.

yep. Attunements (and ofc swapping those) is our core mechanics and something like Elemental Attunement should be a part of it, not an “optional” trait. Active ele playstyle (swapping) should be promoted while right now in PVE what matter is FGS4wall, LH1, StaffFire1+2. Those plystyles should be suboptimal and dont even taken into account by advanced ele players.
Few “advanced” ele players are actually playing build that is not about fgs/lh/staff. Check sticky Zelyhn’s guide.
It does not circumvent game design purely on the fact that Anet can choose which skills are unblockable and thus unreflectable e.g. Bloomhunger. Ergo, they designed the skills to be reflect-able.
Also, it actually does take abit of timing and practice to achieve a lupicus p2 skip.
Except that none of bloomhunger skills are unblockable.
Arcana
I see the logic in not wanting the two changes in this line to counter each other. Moving good adept traits to master level is contrary to reducing the need to spec into this line. That being said, Elemental Attunement is just a beast of a trait and could honestly be compared with most grandmaster traits. I think a good compromise would be to place Renewing Stamina back in the adept tier, placing is where the other professions get this type of trait, and instead move Final Shielding to the master tier where it could live alongside Arcane Retribution as two good choices in arcane builds that take Arcane Mastery in the adept tier. That could leave some interesting builds such as: 0/30/30/0/10 for fresh air, diamond skin, and renewing stamina. It also still leaves builds that put only 10 points in Arcana a chance to gain Protection by going 30 air for Tempest Defense, and 10 Earth for Elemental Shielding and still have 30 points leftover.I still believe there is work to be done at the grandmaster tier in Fire at the very minimum and that Air and Water are the only truly good grandmaster choice right now. There are also still a handful of just terrible traits that will still get looked at, but we felt like we were already bordering on changing too much.

Mesmer and guardian have their vigor traits as’ 5 minor, please consider not moving renewing stamina.

Every minor 15 trait for elementalist triggers upon attunement change. Maybe it’s time to make elemental attunement similar, moving it to 15 arcana.
It’s not like lingering elements trait works correctly.

You have too much faith in anet. Lingering elements is still broken after 14 months.
Let’s compare pve meta builds of warrior and ele. Ele will have 2 dodges every 20 seconds while warrior 4.5 without wasting adrenaline (it gets even better with using burst skills). Warrior has 7k more hp, about 300 more defense and better sustainability with healing signet. Only thing that ele will have is projectile defense with 25% uptime.
Seems like I’m going to depend on guardians instead of dodging to survive.
Then maybe the profession simply isn’t your thing. Personally, I don’t have the issues you complain about. Between the staff’s control skills, the Earth Elemental and the perma protection/heals I don’t have much more trouble staying upright than warriors do in PvE. When things get to extreme though, I move, but that’s also how things were in the other games you mentioned (even if they were much less mobile). I’d say percentagewise, the Mage and Warrior in WoW move as much relatively as the Warrior and Elementalist do in GW2.
Don’t play a light armor profession if you can’t handle avoiding damage otherwise.
I really would like to see that in fotm 80. You either lack damage or stay at range which is nothing to be proud of.

Elemental attunement should be 15 minor since every other 15 minor trait triggers upon attunement change. Renewing stamina should stay at 10, it’s not like mesmer hasn’t have exactly same trait at 5 minor while having more tools to survive.
Every patch is making fun builds even worse, while buffing 1-spam-lh or 1-2-spam-fire-staff. Soon this class will be more boring than longbow+bear ranger. It’s already worse than warriors.

In pvp/wvw builds I tried to go as low as possible in water and arcana, In most of the builds I pick only 10 in both – for watter 5 and arcane 6 traits. After the patch it will be 20 watter and 20 arcana – bravo ArenaNoobs, WTF balance continues…. again you managed to achieve exact the oposite you wanted to have “This patch’s goal for the elementalist was to increase the power of the Earth, Air and Fire lines, while taking away some of the need to go into the Arcane line”.
Also one of the most powerfull ele pvp build arcana 5,6,11 is gone. New Diamond Skin in competetive pvp will be useless (cuz it is very easy to counter witn anything except 0 power builds) so my pvp condi/tank ele will still pick earth 12 for perma active signets so for almost 4k heal every 20s.
That’s exactly my thought. I was running 10 points in arcana both in pvp and pve. If I want vigour I need to get more points in arcana. Never ceases to amaze me.
Glass ele will have to depend on guardians to survive. Great change promoting teamwork. /sarcasm
Persisting Flames is meta in PvE. Fresh Air is meta everywhere. New Diamond Skin is going to be pretty tough.
Now you won’t even have vigour. Good luck being carried by 1-2 guardians but I would prefer not being dependant on others.

Okay, can anyone explain me those powerful traits of fire, air and earth?
There are 3 identical vigour traits for ele, gua and mes. Guardian and mesmer have that traits as’ 5 minor traits while elementalist will have it at 20 points. What is the logic behind that, especially when an elementalist is the squishiest of those?
Until bosses are improved so that builds besides berserker are viable, the Trinity still rules all. The Trinity is the best system at the moment, and Anet is proving that with their non-trinity system. When conditions/bunker/support builds become viable in PvE, only then will Anet’s combat system truly shine. As it stands now though, the combat system is the worst combat I’ve seen in a very long time.
One of two things will happen if Anet ever decides to do something about this.
1.) Anet will improve bosses so that berserkers alone cannot defeat it. They need support/bunker/condition builds in the group.
2.) Anet will add the trinity. (This is a lot less likely). (.0000008% chance less likely).
It’s just a matter of when Anet will improve the bosses, because time is ticking, and people that don’t use berserker gear are leaving or have already left.
You seem to be completely confused because support does not mean you cannot play with berserker gear. Only viable supporting stat is boon duration which is tied to runes not your gear.
Combat system is bad when you play with other 100 people.
HA was intense with Infuse RC/Infuse Monks reuired 1/4 , 1/2 second reaction time.
It required good reflexes, mana management, weapon switching etc, it sure as hell wasn’t just standing in one place casting 2-3 heal skills again and again.
I thought tombs were pvp but I might have been mistaken. How many people were managing their energy in pve?
Im for or against trinity, there should be an evolution, sadly GW2 didn’t create one.
Holy Trinity was replaced with holy Zerging/DPS spam, occasional dodge and #5.
Zergs happen not because of lack of trinity but because of “everyone is rewarded for the participation”. DPS spam is the next logical step of zerging. You can get very active and engaging combat if you avoid zergs. I myself tried to do temple events in Orr (those that are being constantly zerged by the mindless 1-spamming drones) with just 2 people. Result can be watched here.
Or Cambodian for even more.

Good example would be Dredge fractal’s final boss. Since you have to kite him around the map, you’re pretty much useless if you don’t have ranged weapon. But regardless, it’s true that you can melee pretty much everything, but you have to have a specialized group for that. You can just jump into a random pug and start to melee everything, because you don’t “believe” in range weapon. You will end up being down 90% of the time and end up being a dead weight for the whole party. On higher level fractals it’s never a good idea to melee straight up.
On the side note, fractals are not like dungeons. You have to be prepared for things, bring 2, 3 maybe even 4 weapon sets so you can adjust to different situations since you never know what’s coming next. It’s not a Zerker melee playground like most dungeons.

And what traits do you pick with so many points in valour? Few more percent to crit. There is nothing except critical damage this trait line has for whatever reason. You do not make a build around trait lines bonuses only. Plus, valor with the exception of strength in numbers, is a complete selfish trait line, it is like picking 5 signets instead of banners because your dps would be higher. Finally, you have no vigour which means you need a team support to sustain yourself.
tl;dr apply practical thinking into spreadsheets.

Ok enough flaming; I’ve actually looked over "IAmLegionAndIAmOne"’s Video’s on YouTube over all Paths more than once, Young Somalia, and I’ve actually hosted one or two before ad ended up being kicked because I asked why they wanted to glitch/skip a huge part on a specific Path after they’d been discussing whether they’d have a ban or not, which as proof I had been watching SignsOfKelani’s Videos covering that… Apologies if I didn’t mention that, I didn’t feel as if I’d get flamed for stating my opinion and asking for help!
To avoid further confusion, do you mean skipping mobs as in running past them or skipping as in going outside intended path by using so-called jumping puzzles?
lupi is not hard if you don’t encounter the rare bugs that I mentioned.
Then you can bump appropriate bug reports.

I like challenges but arah is absurd especialy with a Pug and the bugs
aoe circles hitting you and instakilling you even after you dodge out
sometimes the boss puts down too many aoe around you even if you would have like 5 dodge you would still end up inside an aoe with no room to evade ( instakill )
Bosses with slow animation so that you could dodge it but it also roots you so you cant dodge ( instakill )
Trash mobs wiping pugs sometimes (lol)etcetcetc….

Hm, I sometimes join parties with people who have less than 1.5k AP and somehow we complete it. Lupi is a breeze, especially when my party starts to cheer me up.
I guess your staff crits are even better because of 5 target limit.
