I got no clue, you tell me.
Totally agreed.
Ele has a large amount of passive or easily accessed failsafes that make them ignore stuff other classes would otherwise need to carefully and timely deal with.
Protection/Shielding automatically negates big hits that you would otherwise need to timely react to.
Plentiful condition removal, mostly triggered by swapping or in-rotation, allows to basically avoid managing conditions that other classes have to instead do.
Long stability allows to ignore CC that other classes instead need to stunbreak.
Healing up also comes easily and passively from just rolling, your usual rotation and resto signet procs.Basically you can focus on your rotation (rotation class is pretty easy) and disregard conditions/damage/CC/burst, while applying your CC/damage by simply playing your rotation.
Other classes need to manage all those aspects every second of the fight with more limited tools and hit buttons based on what they actually need to do instead, which takes a whole different level of skill.
Agreed, this post speak truth.
Amazing semi-glass play. Great job!
Frankly, for pve and wvw any build works.
burrow event can be done under 3min with ele ice bow
True, if you play at Jupiter.
Skipping mobs = not exploit
Standing on a pole that is obviously there for a reason and hitting the boss = not exploitSo what was the exploit you had to use?
I almost fell for that troll. Good job!
Nice. Take me once so I can do that in 2 minutes.
So which dungs take 2 minutes to complete?
I really like those numbers.

He shouldn’t use grub infection on clones but when you start with summoning a phantasm from 1200 range, that phantasm will be his only target because his aggro range is smaller than that.
Grubs are unblockable but avoidable, like ranger traps. The one that spawns during transition is unavoidable, not even invulnerability helps there.
As regular CoF1 runner (one of the best I might add) I agree with Wethospu that scholar runes are in fact the best for dps.
When I check this site it tells me that mesmers and guardians are shining in reflections department while reflections of other classes have very short duration and usually works only on yourself.
The problem is you pump out 1 attack per second on average, and if that doesn’t crit you don’t get the heal.
If there is a fury-pumping Warrior in the team you can do away with RHS pretty safely but 50% total crit chance will not heal all seconds. Check it.
Actually, if you want to calculate average values you will attack at least once per 0.5s. Attacking more than one mob will improve that number. However, I wouldn’t use those numbers.
With omnom pie and sigil of force it’s 4609.
You already have sigil of force. I don’t know how you ended up with that number.
Glass cannons work great when its highly optimized guild group, otherwise no thanks.
Or when you press magical button whenever it needs to be pressed.
Not sure if trolling…
Your build has 1900 ePower (mine 4600), it can be summed up with: overkill survivability and terribad damage.
Yours has 4400.
I use omnom pies for 325 heal proc every second.
Also.
Effective Power
Effective power allows you to make a quick comparison for damage output for different equipment setups with the following caveat:
- Direct damage only – all damage sources affected by the power attribute
- Same profession only – the comparison is inaccurate if we are not talking about the same profession
- Same weapon set only – the weapon set must be the same
I’m new to guardian and want to run FoTM and Arah and want to try your build. Only thing is I don’t have and of tge P/T/V pieces or any of the accended acc yet. What can I use as an alternative (meaning crafted or bought off the TP?) Your help will be greatly appreciated!
For Arah everything works.
I’m not blaming anyone, I’m pointing at overused tactic that is projectile reflection.
I’m saying that reflections are overpowered in their current form. Not every class has access to them as well, making classes like guardians mostly sought for fotm. That’s why your analogy is invalid here.
Ever tried to reflect malrona attack while she was vulnerable? 40-50% of her hp with one feedback with a condition damage mesmer. Does that look okay to you?
He’s adding defence.
You’re serious?
Yes, pressing one button to deal 60-80k dmg makes him awesome.
If you’re using omnomberry pie why do you increase your power by 100 with other food?
I wish I could imagine that.
Reflections need to be buffed. If a boss can instagib me, it should mean that reflected attack should instagib him. Sounds fair.
Blue/greens without jewelry, because open world is easy enough.
Only with a proper team, aka 100% team protection uptime and at least 70% projectile reflection uptime.
Also helps to have an Ele tossing Rain/Geyser and people blasting in for AoE heal finishers. The problem is Guardians with that build are pretty rare, most are GS glass cannon so ask for their build before attempting this.
Eh, most guardians are tanks wannabes, not GC. Standard build is 0/0/30/30/10 or 0/5/30/30/5. I can’t see how’s that glass at all.
This build has 1 effect that’s being proc’d when you crit. Potions aren’t additional dps, they’re dps plus survivability, hence potions > oils.
Alright, name the tool consumables that provide extra precision please.
I’d prefer 10% more damage and 10% damage reduction than 6.72% more crit chance. First option gives 5.2% more dps with his current stats. Moreover, power is almost always better than precision so sharpening stones should be used if you don’t want to buy potions or because there aren’t potions for everything.
Talking about bunker eles in pvp where holding a point is playing an objective and than comparing them to pve rangers, right. Rangers in pvp are currently very strong.
That’s correct. Only the bestest deserve it.
Hopefully what happens when they finally redesign cof
Last time I checked every dungeon merchant was selling lvl 80 exotics. Maybe dungeons should present bigger challenge than moas in open world?
Is there any reason to go for 28/32 dailes?
Imho bosses and mobs should use magnetic auras to minimize the huge skill gap between players who use range build vs plyers who use melee builds.
If I may add, some melee attacks (not just ele) are counted as projectiles.
I was that ultra terrible ele …
Trully to say I forgot that bad ele name and even if I rembered it I would not post it on the forum. Back then I was absolutelly sure his “10s lag” was just an excuse for “pro playing”.
No problem, lets us play together anytime, now with LordByron as a bonus teammate. I am rally courious how you survive as pure GC dd in fractal 20 and above. I might lern something new.
Btw on the screenshot with lupi you have 2.5k hp more than full GC fire/air, and a focus + summon weapon. The trick for soloing lupi is to have enought evades/reflect projectiles/inv on his stage 2, its not as hard if you have them but indeed hard or not posible at all if you dont have them.
20 water (vi, ix) with vine of pale tree and bagh nakh, rest is from wvw bonus. Conjure weapon was for damage, not survivability and phase 2 is the most easy one, you don’t need any relfects (which won’t work reliably any way) because the amount of red circles depends on the party size.

1 moth ago in similar topic I found other 4 pll who also play doungs as dd ele. Unfortunatelly 2 of them was NA server and the other 2 EU were ultra terrible. We could not complete fractal level 10
as 3 dd ele + 2 randoms. One of those “pro dd ele” wrote on forum that he is playing pure GC dd and has no problems at all… on that run he died before he finished burning speed
and killed himself a fev times falling down because of bad skill usage (colosus fractal). The second ele dd was full pvt watter/arcane and did zero damage – in one word he was useless
YES in pve dung dd ele tank is USELESS – remember this pls and dont play pvt watter/arcane in pve its nab and you do nothing compared to any other build that actualy is able to do some damage.
I was that ultra terrible ele and I told you that I was leaving because you can’t play with 10s delay. Check this topic to see the increase of network lags complains in february. But yes, I’m terrible, these days anyone soloes lupicus as ele in full zerker.
In tooltip damage alone the axe auto attack chain is 3950 total damage, in the mists while the Guardian GS chain is 2350 total damage.
The execution time for the axe auto attack is 3.6 seconds, which is ~1096 dps, the execution time for the Guardian GS chain is 2.5s which is ~940 dps. That’s 15%, not including crit, but even here the warrior will come out ahead because they have much more access to fury that a guardian does.
Tooltips don’t include other factors and try to compare axe to sword, not greatsword.
Mes+3guards, try with 5 necros!
Not sure I follow but Lup does toss out single poison jars during phase 2 sometimes in rapid succession. There isn’t a red circle on the ground but you can see it coming towards you. Dodging it is just a timing thing.
“Going underground” happens when someone reflects his shadowstep. He usually uses frenzied blast (big aoe) afterward and red circles appear with slight delay or not at all.
‘Much higher’ being how much exactly?
Because it provides extra precision.
There are better alternatives.
I call it hax, because ranged can’t take full advantage of the zerk build.
(I see myself quoting this guy years to come)(But as a side effect, playing this is boring as hell)
edit: It could be improved even further!
Also, playing full zerker is nothing like being a warrior with 10k. If you think like that your vast experience is equal to null.
Why do people use maintenance oil for pve? Besides, that effective power factor shouldn’t be compared to builds with different weapons and 4600 isn’t high, it’s average.
That bitterness is the result of something.
Sarcasm is hard to detect these days.
Yes, it doesn’t miss when target is stationary. Amazing ability.
Finding yourself with no endurance? = Trait for Vigor/Endurance Foods/
Necros don’t have access to vigor and endurance food is just 40% of vigor. Retraiting in dungeons is a bit problematic.
I usually dont dodge the mass aoe and just walk away from it if I can.
It’s okay if you keep the distance and are lucky.
Trapped in the bubble? Use stability/invulne.
Again, necros don’t have it. Similiarly, thief has stability from his elite only.
Low health and heals on CD? Disengage and go to the edge to heal.
Works when you’re most of your team is alive. Otherwise?
Also, dodging before he casts his AoEs will prevent those AoEs from being placed.
Yes, it’s too hard.
