Gee and here I was under the impression that clearing content means something.
It means something when you’re not being carried. Completing every path just once when almost every encounter can be brute forced while spamming autoattacks under timewarp is something I can’t consider prestigious.
The more you stray from one or the other you are getting diminishing returns on the stat.
Multiplication of two numbers doesn’t imply diminishing return.
Blind exposure is just awesome, espcially with leap of faith because it stacks with the more targets you hit. You hit 2 targets, they both get 6 stacks… you hit 5 targets they all get 15 stacks. It is a nice boost to dps.
Blind exposure with leap of faith is rather bugged than being awesome.
As Codo says 0/0/30/20/5 is meta atm and discussing a max build with out the base of such a build is moot imo.
Meta is the current state of game, doesn’t mean it’s the best. It’s why meta evolves. I consider AH being completely unnecessary trait if you can mitigate damage through other means.
Did you already complain about the “devaluation” of the “prestige” of the DM title?
No because there’s no prestige in that. Never was.
I’m just now wondering if we are going to see even more pleas or she becomes one of the 99% of the bosses which you can defeat with one hand or even finger.
(edited by haviz.1340)
Still waiting for that video that clearly shows the bug.
A plea has been successful, no need for that anymore.
Full offensive warrior can do it in ~6 minutes so including time for phase changes and his AoE life drain but also counting your reflections and timewarp (which I believe you could try using in phase 3 instead of phase 2) it should be doable in about 100s. Two people are able to kill him in 5 minutes and that’s with elementalist and 12 stacks of empower. If you want to do it even faster you should also consider swapping your guardians for something more offensive unless they run full zerkers with something like 20/25/0/25/0.
I have not completed Arah, sadly. Joined pugs and most would just leave. I would love to find a group of people to run it with.
I think it’s rather pointed towards “established” runners.
I can organise some runs (EU) but there’s one rule you might not like it
If Weth pug he prob just solo the boss and let people die to make it easier. Sadly 99% of my deaths in pugs are from trying to rez downed people.
Weth does pug, at least sometimes, doing hardcore run. Death or exploit = kick. You should try that sometimes, it definitetely brings refreshment to boring runs. It’s much more fun than running with same group.
Like this one super-tank Guardian who just kept running around whole phase 3 and I could barely hit it.
Lupi kiting you!
On the topic, Lupicus (thank god not Lupus) wasn’t changed, still same as before.
It was good while it lasted :<
We’ve been gutted.
UNLESS you have a ability to contribute to party aka battle standard time warp then you need to be using summons to help with your damage n yes rangers are hated at simin ask anyone reason hounds work bc their there for 30 seconds pure dps n do not bother with whole sparks bc im talkin when the sparks been place for final burn at 50 percent.
Amazing.
extra damage in time warp just like if u were a theif ud use theives guild your stacking dps
First you’re saying rangers are useless because of pets, then you’re saying hounds of balthazar is a must.
I have 75% crit chance on my guard unbuffed so I know that much is readily achievable. There’s really no reason to go above 80%, as you’ll be over-buffed while you have fury applied to you.
I meant that with fury, in a group with 1-2 warriors or just 1 aura sharing elementalist it’s almost perma fury.
Another thing idiots don’t realize is if your human and unless your a Mesmer You should be running hounds of Balthazar
Wait, what?
Killing her straight after 4-1 is skill, right? Not sure why else everyone should have Stability.
I guess so.
Another thing idiots don’t realize is if your human and unless your a Mesmer You should be running hounds of Balthazar
Wait, what?
What is the best Critical Chance % range for a DPS?
For DPS best critical chance is 100%.
Stealth is op in pve and needs nerf. Who tought that perma stealth is a good idea?
Currently Common Knowledge I bet there are several faster ways to make money that people aren’t talking about, for example until recently you could get almost 20g/hr running TA a certain way and making tortured roots, then the new karma amulets had to come out and ruin that :<
I feel your pain, I have Operative’s Creed recipe.

Your values are not damage reduction but damage increase.
Yeah, once you get the gear you never want to walk in that dungeon ever again!
Heh.
Dodges have a limit, and it’s not difficulty to be spammed with 20k hits, it’s gimmick.
Shooting a dog with an automatic rocket launcher isn’t really giving him “difficulty”, just giving him no choice but die.Any real answer?
Mossman has rocket launcher? o.O
Advantage of a knight guard (one is more than enough) is that he can pull the pack all in one spot and survive even the craziest pulls, while GCs can dps without interrupting for unneccesary dodges/evades. Melee kiting is still kiting.
Adventage of a guard is that he has other things to mitigate damage. Full toughness (~2000) gives you about 33% damage reduction. That’s not even near the craziest pulls.
If you’re min-maxing then most of the damage (for warrior atleast) relies more on uti/trait setup than gear anyways. In my case, same build, but different uti can make a 100b difference up to 6-8k. Zerker vs zerker can be very different and I choose not to drop my damage uti just to survive something one guard could accomplish easily for the whole group by himself.
Then we play very differently and I won’t convience you otherwise.
The “regular” Arah is skipping 90% of the trash anyways and fotm is so full of abuses that it’s not even funny anymore, those are horrible examples to use to back yourself up. Point is, GC can’t “tank” a risen group pull. Ofc anything can be kited, but in that case, your downtime makes due to that, makes your quest for max damage a moot point.
Those are arguably 2 hardest contents in the game. What else is there? Caudecus’ Manor? You don’t “tank” at all with GC.
There’s no need to try and high throne yourself. I also have DM myself and I play all the aspects of the game, from dungeons to paids in spvp. I think my knowledge goes a bit further than the narrowminded “speedrunning” specific dungeons/paths that you’re trying to rely your argument on. Difference between full zerker+full knight’s with zerker jewels is miniscule at best in damage, but at the same time the knight user can take tons of more punishment.
I’ve never throned myself, some dude did that.
I don’t speedrun any dungeon because you can’t speedrun Arah with random pugs I join. How playing paids in pvp has anything to do with aggro mechanics in pve? I play every kind of content except tournies but I had no idea you can learn from there how to manage you aggro.
If you run full knight’s (I assume armour and weapons) plus zerker’s jeweles you have 19% damage reduction while losing 8% damage when you don’t crit and 23% when you crit, that’s with 2000 power (warrior and guardian can both have 100% crit chance). I don’t see how “miniscule at best” and “tons of more” fits here.
Relax bros, we all know havis is the ubeer leetzors sauce dungeon master skipping, simin destroyer and arah lupi solo-er, zerker gear ftw, his word is the law and if he says you’re bad then you are, period.
Agreed.
So pro bro, I’m 95% zerk also (5%=legy), but I don’t pretend skipping = mad skillz.
You might be even 100% zerk, however you use guardian(s) with knight’s gear to get mobs off you, at least that’s what I got from your statements. Even if you play warrior/thief with 100% zerker, that’s nothing exceptional, most people do. But you stated that guardian who holds aggro (aka tank) helps you with dealing damage as other proffesions (aka dps). My counter argument is that you don’t need “tanks”.
Skipping isn’t hard, it’s most often easier than fighting but try to persuade average gamer that he should swap utilities/weapons/traits beforehand or dodge properly. I don’t pretend it’s hard because it’s not, I’m merely pointing common observation from pugging. Even if you got that impression from me, give me a counter-argument, what’s so hard when you’re not skipping? Mobs aren’t particularly challenging.
I see that there is no point in arguing with someone who is skipping 90% of the dungeon and running full bers.
Make it 95%. And skipping is often harder than clearing.
So just because I’m running knights armor, half bers/knights jewels and keeping an aggro on me, blocking, dodging and kiting so basically keeping mobs busy with me while my friend/s deal damage means I’m terrible and I’m leeching…. ok.
Yes. You have too much stat points wasted on useless stat. How would you feel if I run with full mf armour and half bers/mf jewels?
Farm less CoF 1 then.
If that’s even possible, I only farm Arah or fractals but sure. I’ll keep that in mind.
lawl
What’s so funny when you just want someone not terrible at dodging and not hiding behind defensive stat?
Are you arguing higher toughness doesn’t yield in higher aggro? Or you have zero experience in who gets the aggro when you have full knight guard vs zerker warrs in the party. :P
Yes, I have almost no experience with playing with guardians running with full knight’s armour. My party usually consists of people with 916 toughness and sometimes I’m playing guardian. When I know that I have guardian in full knight’s armour I really want to kick him immediately for leeching.
And that guard/warr grabbing aggro from casters comment I made is related to:
A: guard should be able to grab mobs with GS 5, hold them in place with hammer and keep them on himself with high toughness.
B: Warr should be able to outdps any caster and keep the threat on himself since he’ll draw more aggro in melee than ranged.
And that’s why I can’t imagine playing as ranged character. I would die from boredom.
I’ve seen people glitching out bosses, but the really questionable stuff was in Arah P2 where the party leader had the group glitch inside the map.
The famous Ship.
This trait is bugged.
If I recall correctly from my last tests, without rune of soldiers it works only with Stand Your Ground and Retreat. Hold the line sometimes removes conditions but never converts them into boons while Save Yourselves doesn’t do anything.
With Rune of the Soldier it begins to work correctly but it still removes and converts just one condition while it should remove one and convert another.
I’m playing a 0-20-0-20-30 build right now, trying both S/D and D/D but I can’t tell which one deals more damage. Can swap between the two no problem but I like to have a “main” and “secondary” set still.
Is Zephyr’s Boon even worth it when playing S/D?
If you’re running S/D it’s better to grab Bolt to the Heart (VI) and Air Training (X).
I’ve tested yesterday:
Warriors Rush needs 2.3 seconds to finish whereas Eles RTL needs just 2.0 seconds. And yep, its true that RTLs traveling distance is much larger + has a shorter cooldown.
So at the end RTL in each way is far superior to Rush.
RtL doesn’t deal that much damage and with doesn’t allow you to get rid of immoblize with one trait. We can compare them all day long.
What gear are you using? Toughness can often be the culprit here. Mesmers/thieves are probably full glass and if the guardian&warrior can’t grab aggro from you or keep it on themselves, then it’s fully their fault.
There are no tanks in this game.
Regarding your build, the Valor tree has so many good selective traits, I am surprised you only have 10 in there. I then assume your gear is all PVT for the loss of points in traits.
At higher levels you’re gonna be 1-2 shotted regardless of your toughness. Active damage mitigation is what you want, not passive.
Valor only decent traits are v,vi and xi and i,x,xii if you have at least 2 meditations which are mostly used in solo play.
I have ~20k hp with 37%crit and 47%crit damage after food, sigil boost and oil.
Regarding RTL, it was already nerfed. RTL to escape and RTL to catch are very important. I highly doubt they will touch RTL to be honest.
And that’s why wvw is not balanced and mostly for pvers. Foods, oils, other consumables (venom), ascended gear, pve skills, pve confusion and so on.
hello new players to guild wars 2. bags use to drop 100%, people farmed the first mini boss/boss for em and like the next day it was changed. the end.
the big offender in Anet’s mind was the good old Arah token run(use to kill crusher/hunter and reset. first for tokens in the beginning, then for bags later).
Hello, new player. Welcome aboard.
brought our whole group to that state , we were all going wtf at that point , hence why i said it was a possible bug , rather then just say outright hes way too strong (even if he is)
There is no bug with going straight to defeated state.
yes cause the concept of a FEW people getting a rare bug is unheard of that its IMPOSSIBLE , if everyone doesnt get the bug and only a few do then its not a real bug amiright? (rolls eyes)
I’m the one who should roll eye in that situation. You’re the only one who spews such nonsense even after I’ve told you that one attack cannot bring you to defeated state.
-snip-
What I’m seeing here is “I can’t improve”. None of those bosses requires brilliant strategy of zerg rushing. If you keep dying, it’s time to reconsider your current approach and zerg rushing will never do it. You’ll never improve if you keep zerg rushing instead of killing the boss without dying.
i didnt check cause i was out of red circles and whole freaking party was getting the same thing , like i said its possible he bugged out. does the reference bugged out elude you? =P
No one ever reported that fairy tail of yours. Either you were extremely unlucky which shouldn’t happen again and you have nothing to worry about or you can’t admit you died to AoE.
Subject Alpha. But, like Lupicus, a good party can overcome the mistake, though not without effort.
Okay, there’s two now, anything else? Also, have in mind that both of those bosses are encountered in two last dungeons.
And why on earth are y’all fixated on Lupus so much? It’s not like he’s the ONLY boss where no-res matters.
Okay, list other bosses which can wipe your party while you attempt to rez, because I think that’s the only complain here.
i was because i saw a random 30k hit with only 2 grubs and bypassed down state.
edit: it was a random bolt (not his charge , not his kick , not his aoe , but a random bolt that is not easily noticed)
Have you checked your combat log with that mythical 30k? No. You died to his AoE and you never saw it coming because some “smart” guy used projectile reflection/absorption skill on his shadowstep. There’s the only possible explanation. 1 hit, no matter how hard hitting will not bypass downed state. If you don’t believe me, make new Norn, go into Frostgorge Sound and get hit for 200k while you have 300hp. You’d be downed, not defeated.
It only happens during the transition, when lupi infects nearest target. Usual infection was fixed and he won’t target npc/pets/minions/illusions during phase 1 if there are any players in his range.
He deserved to be kicked but If I was to kick anyone who exploits I would have to 2-3 man dungs when playing with friends+pug and solo when playing with pug.
Just in case anyone’s still thinking about spewing that horse kitten that you need x amount of warriors, I just killed Simin for the third time with the following group:
- Necromancer
- Engineer
- Engineer
- Elementalist
- MesmerProof: http://imgur.com/iE0VjkP
All classes can help the group put out the required DPS, you just need to know how.
As for the Sparks, I’m 3 for 3 on Simin and have never had a problem with them, so I’m not really sure what problems the rest of you are having. Maybe there’s still a problem but it’s never been a problem for me personally pre or post patch.
Made ELA analysis and it told me its photoshopped. That’s simply not possible. 2 engs and necro cannot do it. /s
I expected more replies then this =O, yes I’m using evasive arcana. Could a dev respond on this matter if they changed anything with the dodge mechanic =S
They fixed the issue with autoattack interrupting dodge roll. From update notes:
- Fixed a bug that could cause chain skills to sometimes interrupt dodge rolls.
That’s alot of critical damage. xD Might wanna fix that.
He added basic modifier of 1.5 so he’s additional critical damage is 92%.
@Razor.6392 Ups, yeah I mean arcane wave.
In terms of sigils, do sigil of battle and sigil of fire share cooldown?
They do. Either grab bloodlust or force. But if you want to run dungeons bloodlust is often not worth it (everyone skips everything) maybe except in Arah where you can farm those stacks at the beginning. Though I would suggest getting both of them and once you farm bloodlust stacks you swap for dagger with a force. For wvw, bloodlust stacks can be farmed on mobs so it’s good enough.
Have in mind that force is straight up +5%dmg modifer while fully stacked bloodlust with 2000 power is +12.5%dmg.
All of what I said is true, but you win, I’ll waste my time to take some screenshots, since apparently what I said is so extremely hard to believe that I can’t blame you for doubting me! (I don’t wanna imagine what numbers you pull off with your super PVT build for you to doubt me so much)
No worries, it’s same on guardian forum. Try to convience them that guardian can be build with really nice dps setup and you’re gonne be told that if you want to deal damage you should have rolled a warrior.
If you know your class and dungeon, not playing with berserker’s gear is just gimping yourself because of your own laziness to actually use two hands for playing.
Can you please actually fix this, nothing like having your party frantically look for the last grub at the P2 transition to have it spawn right behind lupi
Let 1 person come near him to get infected, he infects the nearest player/npc/minion/pet/illusion.
