No way! Does that mean that downscalling actually works?
Splendind job! Now it’s turn for mesmer, engineer, ranger or necromancer ;p
So that means we don’t have 20 skills but 16?
Thief can apply aoe weakness.
I tried to reflect frenzied blast (aoe in p3) and it kills you so there’s no point.
According to the tooltip it also reflects projectiles…. Is that wrong? I don’t use focus that often, unless its for WvW for Swirling Winds and Obsidian Flesh. I’ll have to test it out.
It won’t reflect any lupi’s projectiles because they explode upon a contact.
Wiping with 5 bunkers, horrific.
If you don’t stand like a mannequin, yes. Seeing as you’re coming from spvp that shouldn’t be a problem.
This is a way more better video and he is fighting lvl 80s
Is this a sarcasm or you’re just trolliing me?
Staff bunker was fairly popular until 15th Nov.
Does that mail you received indicate that it should be at faceroll, almost afk difficulty?
Magnetic wave doesn’t do anything except damage and removal of 3 conditions.
Anet hasn’t changed staff at all, just EA.
Keyword “usually”.
I’m using 0/30/10/15/15 or 0/30/0/25/15 with s/d and d/p. Maybe that’s why I suck.
Usually more than one guardian means twice as long bosses fights.
Most efficient gear is zerker (efficiency ~ 1/time).
My thief is being loved for ability to rez safely, yay.
My build was something like 0/30/0/20/20, zerker with scholar runes. Though I’m curious about thief’s build.
EDIT: Nevermind, I see it’s 0-30-0-30-10.
Also, I’d want some good thief to teach me how to play them, I’m mostly responsible for rezzes in dungeons runs and I’d like to change that. Any good thief in EU?

Isn’t that what most pre 80lvl do? Especially when your targets have 100x more hp than you do.
Problem with guardians is that We don’t have huge base damage
Actually, base damage of guardians tops warriors’.
Another thing, will you equip jewelry at all? Most pre 80lvl chars don’t do that all. Rest of the gear should be blue around 25 lvl.
congrats haviz! if you ever do it again I’d love to see that vid
Always thought ele could do it easier than most with all their invulns, blocks, and high dmges. Also surprised you used dagger over sceptre main hand. why’d you choose that?
Preference I guess. Stronger autoattacks as well.
I did not know that about HB. All I see is huge damage numbers keep popping up and 30k ish is the highest I’ve seen it on the last hit.
Just check your combat log, yes that thing exists.
Yes, your build is one of those fotm bunkers. Point taken.
Only top proffesions. If you want to conduct proper test your party needs to have engineer, ranger and necromancer. Preferably only those proffesions. If not, no one will take you seriously.
Good damage for some time plus it gets rid of swarms during p1 nicely. I don’t really need 3rd defensive utility. If warrior can take frenzy, why ele couldn’t take something offensive?
Rolling a bunker doesn’t solve issues with crap damage.
I never did a full Lupi solo on my Ele nor seen a video of it, so i can’t really say “Yes.”
Maybe not a vid but still.
I realize this is sarcasm but so you know, I actually run very similiar build to the one I posted while yours depends on standing in backline to not lose unscathed contender bonus. Plus, if you ever read so called FAQ, effective power holds validity when comparing same weapons and scepter autos can’t even hit 2 mobs at the same time. Besides, playing ranged in this game is kittening boring.
Daggers have a lower base damage than staff so with daggers the most power you can get is 2000 (these numbers are approximate)
Power != Attack. You have actually 1 more power and 1% more crit dmg with both daggers than with staff.
Ele excels in support role (similiar to guardian) but they fare rather well in dps department. Problem is, it’s harder to survive with glass cannon setup as ele than it is as guardian/warrior.
I have around 12.8k hp in pve and somehow I manage to retain my bloodlust stacks throughout whole dungeon with d/d, s/d and lightning hammer.
Nope. That’s now how it works
A few Fridays ago I spent an hour+ on Simian and assumed we just couldn’t hack it. When we were perfect with sparks she would heal for exactly the amount we did…
The next night we tried again and after another hour+ on Simian we realized the bug. The 50% heal regardless was frustrating and we called it a night again.
They mentioned in the last patch they fixed “her healing ability” but I did not see anything about the 50% bug. Thanks for the post now I know not to try again until it is fixed or I build a complete DPS Warr.
It’s a loong way to Simian to chance it any other way.
What could dps war do if you had encountered that bug?
I run the bunker build for the same reason that everyone else runs it. Alright, so you’re saying the only reason people run dapheonix’s build is that they can’t dodge. Otherwise if they were better they can do all that dps while being just as survivable AND support if they were just good.
Same reason why tons of tears were shed in warriors forum after food (!) nerf. Apparently they can’t play full zerker anymore in dungeons other than cof1.
You fight with bare hands? Reasonable Attack for anyone interested in these sigils would be around 3000 and at that level the +100 power is more like 3%
Damage formula:
Damage done = (weapon damage) * Power * (skill-specific coefficient) / (target’s Armor)
Trash mobs had their hp vastly reduced.
I’ve had groups that took 2hrs to clear a path vs groups that took 30 to clear the same path. I’m a big believer in enjoying dungeon grouping rather than speed running. But clearing trash isnt enjoyable in GW2.
You spent 1.5hrs on clearing trash?
It’s horrible experience now, pre-nerf everyone could get some fun. Now? Impossible. It’s like anet doesn’t want us to have fun.
Thank you
/15chars
AC isn’t even doable with lvl 80, not to mention 35. Stop embarassing yourself and just admit you’re blatantly lying. Community can’t be wrong.
Pre-reckless dodge nerf I know for sure an ele could do it because Haviz managed to get him to 10% life in phase 3 before dying. The reason the reckless dodge may have affected it is because Robert stated that he was fixing “things like it” along with the reckless dodge patch. Not sure if this killed any abilities the ele had previously for getting out of the bubble.
But best of luck getting it done
I haven’t been using EA since october, but yea, ele can definitely do it, though you have less room for error than with warrior/guardian. There are a lot of skills to get out of the bubble.
Same way zerker warrior can survive, dodging.
The above build is great but if your going a glass cannon why not go all out and grab something like this build ?
Effective Power 6533.55 ( 6534 )
Critical Damage 121%
Critical Chance 64.61% ( 65% )LOL haha now thats a power house
Try this in pve, Effective Power 8400 ;D
Bunker up, dps is overrated. Support all the way imho.
Ele can’t do dps that’s obvious, same as guardian. We’re meant to support, end of the line.
That’s solo from Arah explorable:
Full zerker’s with scholar runes/ruby orbs.
decent players bring their own support.
the OP was speaking of the “average player”
I don’t bring any support, except skills that increase overall damage.
path 1 is simple, i mean path 2 and three.
by correct positioning i mean, yes stack in corner, and then I rotate my aegises and blocksSubject Alpha is easy because he use burn condition just before his devastating AOE, burn condition converted to aegis, negating it for the whole group.
every class that is able to convert conditions to boons, like the guardian pure of voice
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Pure_of_Voice
can use it to their advantage.
again, support roles are useful and strong.
Except that burning is converted to aegis only with pure of voice and you get burning condition only when you actually don’t dodge his attack. So someone dodging his attacks will get 0 benefit from your support. Awesome.
