Haha, PvE Commanders be ‘da worst o’ ’da bunch.
It be more than a fortnight me be seein a PvE “Commander” try ’ta rally people ’fer Jormag. It be ’da worst attempt me be seein anyone try ’ta lead.
Commander should have been somethin ‘ta earn through WvW conquest alone. PvE’ers be not have much o’ a need ’fer it, when they could just be meetin at X waypoint and headin ’ta their objective in a zerg ball ’wit one person targeted.
Tarnished Coast [TC]
I have a thief and a D/D ele, and I think both need a small
D/D Ele needs a nerf to health regen.
Thief needs a nerf to perma stealth. My D/D ele can take on 3+ enemies solo because of the constant boons and health regeneration (Running Daphoenix (sp?) build).
My Thief is able to walk right out to enemy siege while they are using it and start taking it (or the person operating it, or both) out without being seen once.
Yarr, I be usin ’da known “Daphoenix” build, before it be known as such. I was mighty feared that it be discovered and circulated amongst the masses and abused, and alas, it has.
I also be thinkin that the problems be not lyin ‘wit thieves themeslves, but with the currect culling system in WvW. In PvE, the stealth be not long, but in WvW, culling be affecting the rendering o’ the player after stealth. If culling is fixed, stealth be fixed.
’da problem be not with stealth, but ’wit culling.

I have a lot of friends that quit the game and are floating between various titles, because GW2 can’t seem to fix a single thing related to PvP.
Culling is worse than before. There is no incentive to keep battling in WvW after several weeks of playing. The tiers have become a stagnant back and forth, with no real challenge. Overall, the honeymoon is over, the dev team can’t seem to make any progress with making changes, and can’t even offer us a timeline.
I’m so bored, I have 6 lvl 80’s, a 7th in progress, and now find myself playing DayZ, FC3, and the occasional 1hr of WoW that I can stomach. Why? Because overall the PvP and PvE content of GW2 is severely underwhelming after you get past the “Wow this game is so pretty factor.”
Arenanet, give us something new, even if you have to phase it in slowly with patches every other week. That, or make a PTR server. You guys would probably be able to fix bugs much faster ^-^

The OP is one of many reasons why the devs don’t give us nice things.

Currently there are a few classes that need work, some classes that are ok, and two classes that are just a tad too strong.
Ele’s and thiefs both need to be looked at.
Tarnished Coast [TC]
I’m okay with other guilds having to spend points to upgrade Art of War. Maybe that will motivate PvE’ers to actually WvW.
Anyways, I kind it quite funny. PvE’ers actually are being told to upgrade PvP oriented influence tiers in order to do PvE. As a strict WvW’er watching PvE’ers scream and shout in outrage is funny, seeing as PvE has had updates and new stuff done in almost every patch, and WvW has been neglected thus far.

Multiple bonuses to the server for xp, gathering, etc. and server pride. Plus, large scale PvP.
It’s like me going to the PvE section and asking, “Hey guys, why do you guys like farming the same, boring, mindless dungeons that never present any sort of challenge.”

They should bring back orbs, to give us our carrot on the stick.
Swap the current outmanned buff stats with the old orb buff stats.
Let the weaker servers have a chance, let the stronger servers gain more karma/gold for winning.

Current Build I use for PvE/WvW. Swap Spectral Grasp for PvE

*Last skill in Soul Reaping is #12. Not sure why it doesn’t show.
Also, anything with dagger mainhand should be focused around a berserker set. With all berserker armor/gems and ruby orbs, I have 21.6k health, and no survivability issue.

Well, I’ve only been WvWing for the past 3 or 4 days, but it does seem to me that my server (Tarnished Coast) just doesn’t have enough people interested in participating in WvW. We try anyway, and usually fail, but I’m also seeing commanders in map chat getting bitter towards each other, as if there is some sort of power struggle or something. I’m new, so I don’t know the history. But shouldn’t they be working together? Or is it just an inside joke? Trolling, maybe? -shrug-
While this is true that we dont have as many ppl as we use to it seems. It does help to join a guild you can run with, or at least find a couple players you can regularly group with. Dying alone can get very frustrating. Even a small group running around can make WvW really fun and make the other side wonder wth. When you do die theres plenty to laugh at. If your ever on EB hit me up anytime.. you can come be a part of our small stealth group, or join up with the zerg. Doesnt matter if you want to join the guild Im in or not your more than welcome to run with us… we will show you EB can be fun, all maps can.
I’d rather have ‘da current crew we be haven, instead of stomping T3 ’wit a bunch o’ fair weather players comin’ in ‘fer ’da easy loot. While we are currently fighting tooth ’n nail ’fer what we own, it still be a mighty fine fight. I know ’da past few weeks be hardening an already salty crew o’ TSP, and it really helps show which guilds are in ‘dis through thick and thin, and which ones aren’t.
That be said, we still welcome all ‘ta come out and join us, RP’ers and PvE’ers alike. We’ll find ye a group, make ye comfy, and it be you guys that will help us ’ta lead the server ’ta victory.
If the same amount o’ our server that fights Jormag came ’ta WvW, we could fill up an entire BL ’wit just that group alone.

Ahoy matey! Many o’ us know others in ’da various guilds, so it be common ’fer commanders ’ta mess with other ’fer some fun, especially on a slow night.
That be said, you are free ’ta roam with TSP, we run a smaller crew, and currently work along side other guilds. On occasion, I turn on me blue dorito when there be no one on and we have some merry fun!
Tarnished Coast [TC]
I’m down for a flatliner spot.
Tarnished Coast [TC]
WvW puzzles are fine. PvP over a strategic point is fine.
Until Arenanet makes everything in PvE able to be bought in WvW with Karma and badges (which they probably won’t), everyone will just have to suck it up and earn their rewards. I’m tired of too many people asking for hand holding.
Tarnished Coast [TC]
For power builds in WvW
When roaming, D/D + A/F is ideal.
For siege defense, Staff is good

None of the guilds chest thumping in this thread.

Yarrr, last night be a good night. Killed a few Icoa/LotD stragglers, drank ale, and made merry ’wit wenches.
‘ta ’da Icoa ele that we kept o’ killin’, ye really are a determined wench.

Don’t use them.

Speed up the #1 skill or give it more power, speed up the #2 skill tremendously.

Basically lich form.
Your best dps output would be to just spam #1 as much as possible. Use #2,3, and 5 as needed.
Tarnished Coast [TC]
Arg, ’da puzzle be fine.
It be o’ bunch o’ carebears and yellowbelly dogs that be complainin’ about it.
Tarnished Coast [TC]
Ya, I have a friend who’s main’d a necro from the start. I followed her advice and went straight berserker with a 10/0/0/30/30 build. This build is great in groups, great 1v1, straight power/prec/crit dmg, and hits hard.
It’s definitely much more powerful in WvW compared to a condimancer, but I like the utilities of being a permachillmancer as well. A P/V/T set with carrion/rabid trinkets would be a mobile tank that no one would kill and everyone would avoid.
Tarnished Coast [TC]
Don’t buy anything ’till after the feb update. Roll an alt.
If they fix necros, gear accordingly.
If they don’t do anything, again, gear the alt.
Ha ha ha!
My ranger is a month late on is his supposed “class” fixes.
I doubt ’da necro class will see any any time soon.
Tarnished Coast [TC]
Yarrr! Now all ‘da wenches o’ Tarnished Coast fetch ‘dis pirate some grogg and let’s head ‘ta ’da tavern ’fer some songs o’ dolyak runs and merry banter!
Tarnished Coast [TC]
Yarr, players that be tryin ’ta attack people in ’da spawn, aka “invuln” area, and then commin ’ta ’da forums to complain about it.
Also, glass cannons who attack group stacking retaliation. If brings tears ’ta me eye ’ta see them suffer.
Tarnished Coast [TC]
If you plan to PvE, go condi, if you ever want to PvP, go head and just roll condition or make a backup berserker set if you have the money. Or if you don’t, run with a group and use a perma chill build.
Tarnished Coast [TC]
If you want to see how well they do, level on up and play it.
My new lvl 80 necro has a mediocre time against skilled ele’s, and eats the not so very skilled ones that thought they’d hop onto a FoTM class.
Between fear, chill, casting a well that add vuln or takes away their boons, lich form, etc. If you go toe-to-toe with an ele, you’ll find it easy.
Mesmers…I’m still figuring out how to combat their shatters.
I’ve had some success, but this necro is a new 80 so I’m still learning.
Tarnished Coast [TC]
I’ve determined that initially, I’ll run powermancer and then gain gear over time for a condimancer. The reason being is that overall, powermancers can provide a ton of dps out, great survivability, and some CC, all in berserker gear.
I look forward to getting some rabid/carrion armor for small group stuff.
Tarnished Coast [TC]
What part of powermancer didn’t you get lmao
You don’t need to completely focus everything into power to run a power build. You get the runes for the precision, the condition damage helps because…you’re a necro, and almost everything you do applies conditions, and you’re really shooting for the +10% damage bonus. Play what you want, doesn’t bother me. If I wasn’t successful with it, I wouldn’t have recommended it.
I definitely see your argument, however, a counter argument is the the majority of a powermancer’s build is that there is only one attack that does conditions on a powermancer D/D build, and is not worth slotting 100 or so condi damage.
Tarnished Coast [TC]
From what I’ve been able to see.
Aside from Divinity, socketing ruby orbs is the second best pure damage.
Tarnished Coast [TC]
Technically Golems could instantly kill a player – as it scaled with your power I had it doing more than a backstab if it crit, 2 in as quick a succession as they could be cast would kill nearly anyone but a tanky Warrior.
…and anyone who didn’t reflect them.
I, personally, only used them in The Quaggan Revolution (google video) run with siN. Fun item, and easy to counter in my opinion, but people don’t like to switch on their brains it seems.
They rather just stood there and swallowed it all.
Yarrr, ’da problem ’wit this argument ’fer reflection is not every class has reflection available ’ta them, leaving them at a severe disadvantage.
Tarnished Coast [TC]
Fixing to get my necro to 80 and am about to spend some $$ on him.
Before I do, I am trying to figure out which route to go. I’ve seen both do great things, and I can’t make up my mind!
Tarnished Coast [TC]
Bunker Ele is the strongest class in the game!
1v1 it can be argued perhaps because of their ability to out last people. It is due to this and not for pwning faces off with damage. Ever see 2 bunker ele’s fight? Neither can do enough damage to kill the other. Kinda of like watching two bunker guardians fights, but flashier.
Yarr, I had this problem last night when dueling a guardian. He heals, I heals, we went 20min before calling it a tie.
’da best class for 1v1 or AoE damage is an ele.
The best for group utility is a necro.
I see a lot of people underestimate necro’s, but they can do some wicked damage.
Tarnished Coast [TC]
Ahoy lubbers, welcome ’ta pirate territory.

BG, you really didn’t need any golems to get to the delicious cookies we’ve been snacking on in your hills. We’ve had ~8 people on the entire map for the last hour and a half. PVE time since you kicked us off your map
“That’s too much siege” said no BG player yet…
I would also like ’ya add.
“That’s too many golems, said no TC player yet.”
“We’re out of golems, said no TC player yet.”
“There be too many pirates, said no TC player yet.”
And lastly…
“I’m tired of farming all this loot from FA, said no TC player yet.”
Scurvy dogs, thank ye ‘fee all ’da plunder. I have not be receivin so many rares in one week since ’da start o’ ’da game.
Tarnished Coast [TC]
One thing I’ve noticed from FA is that a lot of them seem to be running some pretty scary damage builds. That, when in the right position, they can nuke just about anyone, but when caught unawares or in the open field, things tend to take a turn for the worse. A human ballista if you will.
We found many o’ ’da same problems when facing Choo.
We pirates and salty dogs in TSL have developed o’ mighty fine strat ‘ta combat ’dis type o’ setup, and it be greatly effective at combating Choo, and has wrecked ’da FA groups we be commin across.
If ye be runnin ‘da right setup, ’dis type o’ build be no problem, because they be not gettin’ any attacks off matey.
Why are you talking like a pirate?
Because he is one?
Aye!
TC be full o’ plenty o’ pirates ‘dat be tough as nails and takin ’da enemy’s wenches ’fer our own.

‘Ta ’da Icoa crew tonight in ’da BG BL, hat’s off ‘ta ya. We in TSL were tryin ’da come up ’wit different strats ’ta combat ’yer massive force. Definitely o’ bunch o’ scurvy lads ’ta be reckoned ’wit.
‘Ta ’da FA lads ’dat tried ’ta run into Redlake tower as we were capping it, I fell out o’ me chair laughing as 10+ ran right into me Ring o’ Warding and fell on ye backs. Thanks ’fer ’da laughs. ’Ta da handful that made it through, thanks for ’da plunder!
