LOL, still crying the numbers thing? Must be pretty sad over there if that is all you can keep coming up with. And the lame “our 6 defenders held off an entire 30+ SF zerg all by ourselves” or maybe the “I took on 7 SF invaders on my own and won” amazing stories. I am sure that MAYBE that happens once in a while but if all the stories we hear from you guys were true there is no way we would be winning.

i’m not crying. but it is pretty obvious no matter how you slice it that you have more people active in WvW than we do. it is apparent to me, tho, that we are more active than you early in the morning.

and as for “we 6 held off the zerg blah blah” stories and PvDoor and whatnot… what i observed and described this morning hardly qualifies. SF came knocking on the door of their own keep… wanting it back i’m sure… with only maybe 10 people. we had somewhere between 5 and 10 ourselves (i didn’t count ours, for reasons which will soon become apparent in my little storytime) i was one of the ET people standing on top of the wall shooting. someone yanked me off the wall… bravo. nice move. >applause< and me being a squishy ranger quickly got my kitten gift wrapped and handed to me. so instead of WPing, i lay there dead and reported the % left on the gate into map chat while the rest of our forces were off flipping towers or whatever they were doing (i dunno. i was dead) i watched those 10 +/- SFers drop a single ram… which never finished getting built. it got destroyed at 50% done. i watched for a very long time as they slowly whittled down the outer gate from 50% to 0%.

then they rushed in to the inner gate, which was still at 50% for some reason. they got doused in oil… several died. and i watched as the gate slowly climbed back to 75% while the SF people milled around, shooting the door.

i did not see cats. i did not see ballistae. i did not see trebs. all i saw was disorganization. and a few painfully slow minutes later our reinforcements arrived and chased the small SF force back to their spawn.

fair enough, when your organized people started logging in at around 12:30 EST you started using siege and took back your keep and whatnot, but all in all, color me “not impressed”

they must not. i must say it was rather humorous and entertaining watching their inner gate go UP in health as they were trying to beat on it this morning, as we were fixing it faster than they were hurting it. to be fair, they were a little distracted by the boiling oil and whatnot.

look at the bright side... its another week to laugh at them while watching them PvDoor with no siege trying to retake their own keep

lol. had no problem with a 4-5 man group flipping camps the past 2-3 days. just check the guy for the buff before you move in. easy.

it’s early yet. the action heats up a bit around 8-10 pm EST. but even then... remember, compared to the big boys at the top tiers, all 3 servers are sparsely populated in WvW. there will be "dead" periods

last night... i was running around EB and ferg BL with a group of friends. we were running in concert with a pack of people following a commander (started with 4 in my group, eventually got 5... the pack with the commander had maybe 15). i know we left a small group defending stuff in our own BL (probably 5-10) and i’m sure we had a few floaters solo-flipping camps and killing vet guards here and there. if we left 2, or even just ONE, at each thing we owned for defense, pray tell: who would we actually use to attack with, hmm?

i appreciate the LTplay commentary, tho. you’ve cemented my resolve to not spend a single penny or gold coin to transfer further up the ladder. we can flip camps and towers in 5 man groups (or less) just fine, thanks, so please don’t bother to transfer here to "show" me anything.

Lol…wish people remember when they add me to their friends list, and when they do I can see them too. It is also hard for people to find me when they spend 90% of their time in PvE. Makes me laugh inside especially when there is talk about the numbers we field….Lion’s Arch is a pretty safe place.

It wouldn’t be so annoying if switching from 2 weapons to a 1 handed weapon didn’t put the offhand in the next empty place in your inventory instead of next to the main hand weapon. I’ve almost sold weapons because of this..

i’ve seen Mend people here and there all weekend.

i’ve noticed a difference in how our score looks first thing in the morning over the past... oh.. say... week or so. maybe a tad more. instead of logging on in the morning and seeing we owned NOTHING like i used to, i now log on and see we take up our 1/3 of the pie graph... culminating with waking up one morning to see we’d taken stonemist overnight or early morning (which i posted a screenshot of).

to me, it means we either have more people... a night crew forming possibly... or we have a portion of our day people shifting to night and morning for some reason. as i’ve said more than once now.. i’m not noticing a marked increase in fighters during my usual active times...and in fact i’ve noticed a slight decrease at times (to the point that i wonder how we’re holding our lead over fergy O.o ) so i’m not sure where these hypothetical new people are hiding.

if we did, i’m not quite sure where they are hiding. i didn’t see a strong force on the field from our side till at least 9:30-10pm (EST) last night, and by strong force, i mean we had enough to generate a 15-20 person zerg to go take towers and had enough to leave 5 guarding the keep. i think we even had a few making mischief in EB at the same time.

earlier in the day (around 6pm EST) i poked around in WvW a bit and we had trouble scraping together 5-6 people at a time… even with a trusted commander to follow.

altho by the time i did finally have to call it a night, due to needing to wake up for work early the next day (yuck), it looks like i probably missed some fun. we were definitely preparing some serious shenanigans! such prettty neat rows. O.O

so they have mice and keyboards now that at a single keypress can open your inventory, find whatever random slot the weapon you want to use ended up in, and drag that item to a weapon slot? twice in the case of a two-weapon set?

if so, d***, i’m impressed. i want one

Pvdoor,Nightcap..noo ET n FC is much too skilled for these,it makes you look weak when you whine. Many times they are not outmanned and are still beaten,even when they “nightcap”. Oh Et never caps towers that are undefended..LOL,next time bring 20 golems :-) if you are looking for pity in your posts you got it, but please dont play the victim..ET does just fine when SF sleeps I think considering SF has to fight red and blue it kinda makes it even, considering FC and ET never fight each other.

yer funny. ya know that? i wasn’t looking for pity or sympathy. i was stating a fact. SF has more people than ET or FC. and they have a stronger WvW night time population. >shrug< we play with the hand we are dealt. if the next server to fall to tier 8 has a less populous nightcap crew, the matches would most likely be much more even. would we pwn it? probably not. would it be a ROFLSTOMP? probably not.
and ET and FC not fighting each other? don’t make me laugh. that little “alliance” as filthyrat was so fond of calling it (which it was actually just a non-agressive agreement that we didn’t even all agree to) crumbled in less than a week. trust me, there was loads of fighting between FC and ET last week

oh yeah. and despite what they’re saying… SF fields far more than 30. lol

lol. it’s not the size of their zerg. it’s their kitten nightcap crew. really takes the wind out of your sails when you go to bed owning your whole borderlands and feeling fine, and wake up the next day to see the whole borderlands painted green and all your reinforcements and siege gone because someone PvDoored it overnight while it was undefended.

SF got an influx of players after they dropped to tier 8. but now they’re stuck here… makes me LOL when you guys keep saying “omg you losers would get ROFLSTOMPED if anyone else dropped to that tier with you!!!!!1!!1one!!” seriously. if we got paired up with a server with similar numbers, it would be a much more even match, like the first two matches when SF FIRST dropped to tier 8.

learn how screwed up glicko is before you say stuff like that, please. glicko is a hot mess, and we’re stuck with it.

who would i want to face? at this point, ANYONE ELSE. that about cover it for ya?

even if i had to go to my inventory/hero screen to swap them… but yes. i want to be able to save weapon sets for future use. set 1: sword and horn. set 2: sword and dagger. set 3: dual axes, and so on.

anyway. i wasn’t asking for more slots. i was simply relaying my feelings

i myself would be VERY happy with the ability to set up weapon sets that i could swap in and out of the primary 2 slots when i am not in combat…it would facilitate the swapping of 2-weapon sets… what i mean by that is… it’s very easy to swap a bow or a greatsword while out of combat. it’s a single weapon. double click. 2-weapon sets are a bit more tricky… do you want that axe or dagger in your main hand or your off hand? gotta drag stuff around… less convenient.

be nice if there was a way to say “i want this sword and horn to be a set, i want this sword and dagger to be a set. i want these dual axes to be a set, etc.” and i can drag click that set (while out of combat of course) to make it one of my 2 sets for active in combat weapon swapping. THIS would not be imbalancing… just slightly more convenient.

i came here from DDO. the weapon sets combos are practically unlimited there. i have 2-3 that i cycle thru on a regular basis, but i have about 12 more sets i can quickly and easily click on at any time. even mid combat.

coming here it was a rude surprise that i could only use 2 sets at a time…it feels very limiting to me compared to what i’m used to that i can’t swap (from the SB/GS i currently run with) into a longbow on the fly to rain some arrows during a tower siege… or swap into a sword and horn for the damage and buff…just because i’m in combat…and as fast as things can change on the field of battle, i could find myself in combat wishing i had a different weapon.

whether SF wants to admit it or not, you DO have superior numbers, you DO have more time zone coverage, and that ALLOWS you to play sloppy.

don’t get me wrong, i am totally not saying that you don’t have skilled players in your ranks. you definitely do. but you also have alot of PvDoor and losing fights you shouldn’t.

i honestly wish you well and hope you move on to greater things soon… not to be rid of you, but because WE are tired of the same match up week in and week out, month after month. you are as fed up as ET or FC is. However, i think when you meet a server with closer to your numbers/coverage, it may be a bit of a rude wake-up call to some of your numbers.

Something to note, was it me, or was there something amiss with ET last night, it seemed like, after we took second, a good chunk of people called it a night, there was no Queue for ANY of the areas, and normally Friday on reset there is sometimes a 5 min wait to get into EB. Last night… Zip.. nothing.

i noticed that too. we had a good push right before reset, and then it’s like everyone disappeared. i was running with groups of 5-6 facing down zergs from BOTH other servers in the 30-40 people range at times… normally on reset night we manage field enough to at least look like we have similar numbers when the zergs clash.

grrrr. i’m at work. i missed the fun!

i dunno about anyone else, but i am gonna be SO confused tonight… i’m gonna be trying to run in the red doors, and running from my own guards wearing blue… lol

on land: Jaguar for sneaky ninja wall climbing and surprise attacks goodness. reef drake to sneak up and scream some confusion in your ear. devourers sound like a great idea for a nasty melee boss mob. i’ll have to break mine out next time i’m killing the Nageling giant, a dragon, or Maw or something. my pets die so fast doing those >.>

in water: shark. cuz… sharks are awesome. and again, a drake. i have to give the jellyfish a try.

how i die in WvW:
— 85% of the time: i lag like a kitten and by the time it clears i have a spear in my chest
— 15% of the time: someone skilled just kicks my kitten.

i see no problem with sending a cat or a bird to the top of a wall this way. makes sense. if its a cat, it has claws. it climbed. if its a bird, well duh. it flew. nothing is more fun that watching people leap off the tower fleeing my kitty. you can almost see the “OMGWTF” on their faces. XD.

sending him down to guard the gate when a tower is under siege is also fun. and F4 right before he dies. poof. no more pet to beat on. haha. :-P

i would be very sad if this went away. it’s too much fun, and i heartily thank Xsorus for showing me this.

so i spent the last 2 days doing exactly what i said i was going to do… despite our somewhat stronger showing that usual in WvW, i avoided it. i ran Maw, killed dragons, leveled an alt. made my way to Orr and loaded up on jewelry boxes, explored… a bunch of stuff i’d been neglecting. and then this morning… after a leisurely morning making the rounds… to check what events were up, and 2 quick blitzes of AC paths 2 and 3… the call appears in guild chat “we have nothing. 0. GUILD ASSEMBLE! RED ALERT!” i think the whole server had a “aw heck naw” moment. i know i sure did.

i’m not sure if i will be playing WvW tonight. i am still somewhat disgusted with, and need a brief break from, WvW, but for one glorious hour we rampaged across the lands, retaking our homelands from green and blue and sweeping the enemy from our borders. there was no snark in /map chat. there was very little disorganization, we just got it done.

we may be the severe underdogs in this fight, but dang… for one brief moment it was fun. Thank you Commanders and PK for this great experience.

The problem I see with wvw is out of the three servers playing. Pretty much the only factor that effects who wins and who loses. Is whichever server has a queue for a larger portion of the day. Example one server only has a queue for like an hour or two at primetime the other server has a queue for 12+ hours of the day. Who do you think is gonna win. Yet if your on the server with a long queue and in a clan your can’t always get in and play with your clannies in the same boarderland.

lol? i’m not quite sure if you’re trying to say the side with the big queue is winning or losing. we NEVER have a queue… except reset day. and then it’s a super short one. and we’ve been getting stomped for… a long time now >.>
