And this one too: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Chinese-back-skins
On the crafter backpack section though there’s one line that leaves me wondering what that means.
….“come with a bit more combat flexibility than many players might have seen.”
What does this mean ?
I’m guessing it just means you can choose the stats of the back item at every level of creation, rather than being forced to use the very small handful of lower-level backs with set stat combos.
That would make sense. There are very few options for sub lvl 80 backpieces.

I have large concerns regarding not crafting mats, but rare items themselves.
I am afraid that may lead to large imbalances of supply of specific items in the long run, as well as to discrimination across classes, both real and psychological – which would lead to a lot of frustration while playing and knowing that you’re playing the wrong class.
For example, how should necromancers, thieves, engineers and elementalists feel about never getting the expensive Dusk or Dawn and getting some trash precursor instead? Or how should I feel if, say, I’m using my guardian to farm for a dagger precursor for my ele?
While they may not have as much of a chance to get one of the greatsword precursors, they would have higher chances at getting one they could use (and some are equally expensive).
I don’t have anything to worry about since I’ll never see one drop for me period, regardless of which character I’m playing. :P
I love this change. I don’t want more mithril, but I do like that my loot tables are changed up and I might actually get an exotic weapon my main profession uses. I have a third guardian that needs gear and this will help.
And it is not going to stop heavy classes from ever getting silk or items that salvage into silk, it is just going to reduce how much un-usable gear you get.
Overall, so far I’m really liking the upcoming changes. There will be bugs and issues, but I’m liking where this is going.
I’m one of those excited to finally see us getting these. I probably won’t use 99% of them, but I love having more back options.
Your summary #3 is wrong.
You are less likely to get armor/weapons that your profession doesn’t use. This does not mean you won’t ever get them.
Overall though, I like the changes and can’t wait to have my bear backpack while running around with a bear pet and bear mini pet >.>
Please just keep it light and fun like it has been with Kate and not the bro-fest that the ready-ups have been in the past.
Points of Interest and Ready Up are two completely different shows, created for different objectives. They are not intended for the same audience, although players can enjoy both if they play all aspects of our game. While Points of Interest discusses Living World episodes and showcases Fan-Generated Content, Ready Up focuses on competitive information, events and updates for WvW and PvP. The tones are different because players expect different things from each show.
I hope this clears things up
Yes, very much. Thank you!
I still watch the ready ups for the info, just personally don’t like the atmosphere of all the bro-talk…I understand that some people enjoy that though so I’m not in any way suggesting you change the way the Ready Ups are because I don’t like it.
I love this change. I love doing dungeons with my guildmates but some of them don’t always have stable connections. This means we don’t have to worry about the dungeon booting us out if whomever started the dungeon DCed and couldn’t get back in before the instance disbanded us.
Love this change.
So tomorrow we’ll see “cool new items we’re adding to each crafting discipline!”
Wonder if we’ll get these? (Wild speculation)
I still really want these back items and want to have the ultimate bear ranger (just for fun)
Please just keep it light and fun like it has been with Kate and not the bro-fest that the ready-ups have been in the past.
We will miss you Kate! Good luck on future endeavors <3
If I still drank alcohol I’d have to try a few of these. I might have to find/make some non-alchoholic versions.
Knockdown is a “fun” mechanic.
I just hate combat speed. >.<
You need to contact customer support, change the password to your email and game password. (Personally, I would change passwords for anything I have stored on my computer as well) I would also check your computer for any viruses and malware to ensure they do not get your newly changed passwords.
Then you will need to discuss this matter with customer support and after 3 days if you still do not have a solution to your issue you will need to post in this thread and include the ticket number.

Also, not everyone has multiple accounts….
They generally only change your display name if it is your full first AND last name. Kaida.1478 reflects only one of those and others have found the same answer as you. If people can find you based on just your first name then you likely have a larger issue at hand. Unless you had advertised here that your display name was your real first name none of us probably would have guessed.
Edit: And googling Kaida gives a whole bunch of results and does not easily point to just you.
I don’t think it’s fair that my Mawdrey II went on a hunger strike and barely ate anything for several days in a row. Still getting more bloodstone dust in that she’ll eat :P
Now can we get the bunny ears back?
I like it in Gendarran….loads much faster than DR and I can still go to any major city from there. (Talk to the helmsman)
Grats to the winners.
Still kinda sad I didn’t even get a mention, but that’s okay. Grats to everyone!
I have 12 lvl 80s and one who I haven’t gotten to 80 yet….he’s level 63. So yeah. Pretty useless if that’s what I get. Would much rather a +20 levels scroll starting from any level you’re at.
Seems like there is an issue with the proposed reward structure:
- Tickets are rewarded after the end of each week’s match
- 1st gets 200, 2nd gets 150, 3rd gets 100
- You have 1 week to use your tickets before the next week’s reset or they are forfeited
- Mistforged Weapon costs 300 tickets. At this point, I don’t see how a player can ever have more than 200 tickets in their inventory. It looks like they want people to buy the Hero weapon (100 tickets) and then possibly upgrade (200 tickets). However, in that case, why do they still show the 300 ticket option for the Mistforged weapon?
“- You have 1 week to use your tickets before the next week’s reset or they are forfeited”
You misread that. You have 1 week to PICK UP your reward/tickets. You can save them forever and never spend them or spend them at the end of the tourney. They won’t go bad.
THANK YOU!
Thank you John, Mark, Zach, Tyler and everyone who worked hard to fix this based on feedback. Thank you for clearing up the confusion too!

Vague post is vague. They don’t mention that the colors cost, but they also do not specifically state that they will not cost.
I don’t believe they’ve changed their mind yet.
It isn’t vague at all…
“We’re also happy to announce that once you are a commander, you will have access to a variety of colors. Choose from red, yellow, purple, or classic blue to customize your commander icon!”
It clearly says that once you are a commander you have access to all the colors. It literally couldn’t be any clearer.
Never mind what I said. A red name posted and they did indeed listen to us.

Blog post seems to indicate that now colors won’t cost extra. Which is great and shows they listened to the immense amount of negative feedback.
Or the blog post is intentionally vague and doesn’t actually tell us how the additional colors will be unlocked, or if they’ll be a gold sink, or what….
Unless there is a line in the blog post that says “Additional colors will be available at no extra charge beyond purchasing a commander tag.” then I am not going to believe they’ve listened, heard or changed their mind.
We should get some answers today as the blog post that will be out later is “Command the Rainbow.”
Somehow i don’t think we’re going to like them, though.
You know what we get? Less information than was already given. The blog post is there and it answers none of the questions we have. It would be really nice if someone could you know…answer the questions on how it is going to work…how much are the colors going to cost, etc….
Ashe Stranglewood dares you to find him. He is a master of the shadows and stalks his foes through the jungles of Tyria. [photo1] He slips out of the forest floor and you get a brief glimpse of him. [photo2]. Ashe and his trusty More Drum Wolf are seen in a nearby village looking for a brief break from fighting. [photo3]. But Ashe has now gone off to hunt another bounty. Do not look for him, as you will not find him. Ashe will find you! [photo 4]

You get it on the anniversary of the day you you created your first character in game. I got mine yesterday since I was in early access. Same stuff as last year… mini pet, birthday booster, experience scroll for new characters up to level 30, etc. Nothing amazing, but the 24-hour booster is nice for faster leveling.
Monday the 25th is the first possible day you can get the second birthday gift. It doesn’t matter if you were in beta or not. All characters that were in beta were deleted before the 3 day headstart.
Pics or it didn’t happen. :P
Send the unruly Taimi back to school so she knows how to deal in the real world.
Give off duty soldiers time to relax after fighting Mordremoth.
Let Moto silently reopen SAB to continue testing.
We don’t need the new worlds, but please just let it reopen so we have something else to play around in! Let it count towards daily dungeons. Add it to the rotation with Crab Toss, Sanctum Sprint, etc. Don’t let my infinite continue coin to gather more dust. I want to go back and earn more of the toad weapons!
If the old version of Penn-shelt still existed people wouldn’t have to do this.
I will still do my best to do the events as intended when I’m down that way, but one against a zerg doesn’t always work. And if people in the zerg who are trying to fail the event are abusive to me because I’m trying to do the event as intended…well that’s a quick report. Doing the event as intended is not trolling, btw.
I hated Gwen…. she just would not shut up!
So I’m going with Traherne. Don’t like him much either >.<
There is inflation at play here. I bought Venom for 19g back however long ago I bought it. I bought Rage for 50g a while back….both are now legendaries and I love them.
I made Venom because it is awesome and I couldn’t afford a land based legendary. Same goes for Rage. They’re both amazing.
:p
I would happily PvP if they put these armor sets as bonuses along that reward track or even their own track.
What I find most interesting about this thread is that a year ago: https://dviw3bl0enbyw.cloudfront.net/uploads/forum_attachment/file/15987/Untitled1.jpg
But now that much gold will only get you about 700 gems.
I just want to know if I can buy a book now and use it after the patch to pick the color, or if the only option you’ll get is blue. If I can buy the book now and get a colored one after the patch that’d be spiffy. There’s no way I can justify 300g for a tag just to use for guild missions….and that’s the only reason I’d be using one.
I’d be extra nice if the Stalwart & tribal were rewards along the way too….
I like this sheet to see if it’s worth it to upgrade materials

From what I heard on map chat, you need to have the backpiece with you
Nope…mine was in my bank when I did it.
Yes, it is a grind. BUT If you look at the big picture it’s an ascended (infused) backpiece you get through doing the story. If you start the story on a new character and play through the entire story from start to finish you’ll have done harvesting and such along the way and (hopefully) have the amount of foxfire needed to complete the backpiece as you go through the story.
Please make clay bricks and foxfire a collectible and depositable.
29. There is a range indicator on your abilities. There’s a red bar below the skill if you’re out of range.
Was that always there? I swear I’ve never noticed it before. I have 11 characters at 80, 1 at 63 and 9 of my lvl 80s have 100% map completion…..so I have been pretty oblivious. o.o
Recently learned this one.
If you’re swimming and need to get to the surface fast, hold down Jump. You’ll move upwards in addition to whatever direction you are going.
You can also map a key so you can go down. I used ‘C’ as it is right there above my spacebar. That way I don’t have to point my camera angle down to descend and it makes fighting underwater easier.
You didn’t get an exotic ?
Hahahaaahahaa! Tell me another joke!
Gloop gloop everywhere!
You have to get down to the Steam Minotaur platform to charge your orb. I did it shortly after the patch, so if it broke after that I don’t know.
To get a key to the minotaur: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Matrix_Cube_Key
So sick of the armor costumes. The Ancestral outfit should have been light armor, the ninja outfit thing should have been medium and this ceremonial should be heavy.
It is okay to let us have different things >.<
The outfits should be costume type things like the witch, mad king, etc.
I still want the bunny ears dangit!
Same issue here. My cultivated seed is mysteriously now a Pet Seed.
It was stored in my bank.
I made the first iteration of the backpiece before today’s patch.
I completed the story steps and some of the new bits to make the backpiece.
I didn’t notice anything was amiss until I went to plant the seed in my new pot and nothing happened. I then clicked on the seed and it pointed at Fractals and so I looked on the wiki and found the recipe for the fractal pot, but I don’t even know if that works yet or not >.<
Organize the trading post items so that Items are in the correct category and useless (empty) categories are gone.
giant eyes only come out of heavy moldy bag
fixed. There is only one way to get giant eyes.
This kept happening to my husband trying to find a T4/5 Drytop. It’s not just in the dungeon area that it is happening. Happened in the Open World section of LFG.
