*they’re
They are part of the world…or rather Tyria is part of the mists.
“The Mists is the oldest thing in existence, the proto-reality that exists between the worlds, constituting the fabric of time and space that connects the multiverse together. Within the Mists are worlds (of which Tyria is just one), each with their own realities and histories, floating as islands in the ether. " http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/The_Mists
Hell I think they should include the few (nothing special) POIs in the heart of the mists to map completion. Granted those aren’t hard to get but it would make people realize OH HEY, there’s this PvP place too.
When we get new maps, I want more heart quests and another set of maps to complete.
The Mists are part of the maps but they’re in the mists…a different realm/dimension which is why you don’t see them on the main map.
They consolidate the boosters into two stacks (Combat Booster & Reward Booster). Clicking on one of the new enchanted booster gives you the option to choose which boost you want.

Why should the warrior banner work on fully dead NPCs?
Not one other revival skill works on dead NPCs. Battle Standard is the ONLY revival skill that will revive an NPC from full death.

For those that haven’t found it yet. You can get the enchantment powders directly for gold.
Visit the Black Lion Armor trader and you can buy the Enchantment Powders themselves to convert your boosters to the two new types OR bring all your boosters with you and you can convert them directly.
NOTE Bring your killstreak boosters to the Black Lion Armor Trader and you can convert those to the Reward Booster.
You cannot convert killstreak boosters with the powders.
You cannot select a killstreak booster from the Enchanted Reward Booster.
Price:
10 silver = 1 Powder
50 silver = 5 Powder
1g = 10 Powders
2g 50s = 25 Powder
Karma boosters are still 2 karma > 1 Enchanted Reward Booster
My husband and I have separate game accounts and easily use the same paypal account to purchase gems.
The email account attached to my paypal is not the same as either game account email.
This answer your question?
Having done 100% map completion 8 times already…if you need WvW find time to WvW. Lots of times you’ll find a good group and they’ll take as much as they can on a map. I’m starting map completion on my 9th character and mapping WvW is the only challenge to finishing. I like that there is a bit of a challenge to completing. Still TONS more fun than scraping every edge of the map to try and get that last .01% of the map to finish cartographer in GW1.
Happens too often and the officers in my guild (myself included) have accidentally kicked each other, regular members….and it’s nice that “kick from guild” was moved down from right next to kick from party, but there really needs to be a confirm. PLEASE.
You have the option of not doing the dungeon (or mini-dungeon) by paying coin & skill points.
(I’ve done all of the dungeons several times myself) The Flame Temple Tombs is hard but it’s a mini-dungeon, it’s supposed to be hard. Get some friends/guildmates/random pugs from the map and go through it together.
It is a cool system that stretches players into trying different content all over Tyria. It is like the skill hunts from GW1 and helps point players to content they might not find on their own (like the mini-dungeons).
I like the new system.
You do have options. Unlock via the activity for the skill or pay the coin/skill points. Sorry you don’t like the available options.
Suggestion: unlock just the traits you need as you level up then go through and collect them all once you get sufficiently high enough in levels.
High level content (not all Max level obviously):
Fractals
Dungeons
Temple Events
Tequatl
Karka
Triple Trouble Wurm
World vs. World vs. World
sPvP
Achievement Completion
If the content above that is in the game isn’t hard enough for you, try to solo the dungeons, do WvWvW naked, find and fight all the champions in the game by yourself. Find a way that is available to you as a player to challenge yourself. Lots have found ways to do that, why can’t you?
Now on to the reward aspect of your query…
Re·ward
ri?wôrd/
noun: reward; plural noun: rewards
1. a thing given in recognition of one’s service, effort, or achievement.
A reward is something given for completing something. Hence Blues & greens are a reward. It might not be what you want but it is something given to you for completing the content. All of the events above give you something for your effort and as such you are rewarded.
You say you don’t like the rewards given, well pretty much too bad. LOTS of people (me included) think the game rewards and drops suck. The only way the drops will get better is if ANet does something with the loot tables. We can’t fix that.
The end game for Guild Wars 2 is what you make it given the content available. They’ve told us that starting with Season 2 of the Living Story it will be lvl 80 content with harder achievements. If after you try that and it still isn’t your cup of tea, I’d say you need to find another MMO.
The risk of hotjoin.
there is a penalty for solo and team queue (right?)
Just finished map completion on my 8th character, starting on the 9th.
Going to work on personal story
Dungeons Every Day
Having Fun.
Hard mode dungeons would probably be easier to implement, and more fun. No wps, no repairing, no leash mechanic on mobs. 3x the gold and tokens on completion. Boom!
That’s what I was thinking Hard Mode and Vanquish mode of dungeons.
Dungeon Hard Mode:
All weapons, armor, traits and Skills are locked upon entry and you cannot change them until exiting the dungeon.
Exiting the dungeon resets progress.
Make the dungeon scale for the number of players in the party. Current normal difficulty is for 1 player and it scales up from there.
No skipping any event encountered is allowed.
Vanquish Mode
Every mob in the dungeon path must be killed.
All bonus events must be triggered and completed.
Obviously the rewards for Hard Mode & Vanquish Mode would need to be worth it for people to consider doing them…so make it so that the dungeon chests are green or higher (no more blues) and the bonus for completing is a minimum of 3 gold.
Don’t let them get me I"m too…Don’t let them get me I"m too…Don’t let them get me I"m too…Don’t let them get me I"m too…Don’t let them get me I"m too…Don’t let them get me I"m too…
the items you got through using fortune scraps were always account bound.
Tradable ones are ONLY gotten as drops.
Edit: Even the wiki link you posted has the answer "Fortune Scrap Vendor for 200 Fortune Scraps or 1 Golden Fortune Scrap (Masterwork version, Account Bound) "
How about they just remove the essence of luck from the chests…feels like such an insult to get that out of a BLC.
>.<
two guildmates succeeded in getting it yesterday where they were unable to get it before.
Oh look next page bug…
I think for this we deserve a new WvW map… Just saying…
(doesn’t have to be big, just some deathmatch field with 3 spawns and a crazy keep in the middle surrounded by a lake and 3 bridges)
Just imagine the bugs and game breaking issues that would arise from them making a map, when they can’t even get achievements from a SECOND season to actually work properly…
Clearly, hovering scorpions would be a good first step.
Too bad we don’t have scorpions in the game…. they’re devourers. Mechanical Siege Devourers. :P
What is your issue?
If you bought the finisher and double clicked it you can now find it in your hero panel. All of the finishers you have access to can be found there and you can activate whichever one you wish to use.
For the Boost enchantment powder to work you must first have a boost in your inventory to convert.
The “Enchanted Combat Boost” can be one of 4 types: Strength Booster, Speed Booster, Armor Booster, Rejuvenation Booster
“Enchanted Reward Booster” can be one of these: Experience Booster, Magic Find Booster, Crafting Booster, Karma* Booster, Gathering Booster (* it takes 2 Karma Boosters to convert to one enchanted Reward Booster)
1- Rune & Sigil extractor that is geared towards getting things out of WvW/Karma gear (not infusions) Sell a 6 piece kit so you can remove the runes from an entire armor set. (~300 gems for set) [will not work for infusions]
2- Bunny Ears, Rox Quiver, Grenth Hood, Wide Rim Glasses as well as all other former town clothes only pieces that are now helms
3- More animal ear helms (Cat, Fox, Dog, Insect antennae, etc)
4- Karka Hatchling Backpack (like the little cuties that latch onto you while roaming Southsun)
5- Boost Enchantment Powder 10 for 125 gems, 50 for 500 gems, 100 for 800 gems (or similar pricing)
6- Permanent Accessory Kit that uses the account dyes and lets you change your accessory color anytime. (1000 gems?)
We really need a cheaper way to get runes/sigils out of karma & WvW gear. I wish we could at least use a Black Lion Salvage Kit and just recover the runes/sigils only from this gear. (would not work for infusions)
I’m a bit confused, could someone explain if I get this right. Say I have:
50 x Strength Booster
50 x Speed Booster
50 x Armor Booster
50 x Rejuvenation BoosterIf I use one powder, and one strength booster, I then have:
49 x Strength Booster
50 x Speed Booster
50 x Armor Booster
50 x Rejuvenation Booster
1 x Enchanted Combat BoosterThus on using one of these I actually now take up five slots instead of four. Even after using 50 of these, I’d just be back to four slots again. So, do I really need to use 100 of these just to free up one slot (assuming that I get no extra boosters in BLCs), or am I misunderstanding how they work?
That is absolutely correct. I want to be able to buy these as they are on their own. I’d hope something like 10 for 125 gems, 50 for 500 gems, 100 for 800 gems ….yes my price guess is cheap because I personally would need hundreds of them.
because if everyone had a passive speed boost then everyone would be running the same speed and some would want to run faster than others and we’d be asking for more speed. Rinse. repeat.
Just remove combat speed and I’d be happy. >.<
If nothing else, at least give me pants for my guardian, with no butt cape.

In other words…there are options, explore the wardrobe and find what you like. Mix & Match armor has always been my favorite way to go.
6 back items/profession.
1/75/150/225/300/400/500 I suppose, just like crafting tiers are… The question is why China has them and we don’t. And I’m also interested about China living story, too. Of course it will be the same as ours, but do they start with season one first or not>?
I really do want these backpacks, for the most part, they’re quite awesome….and I need that bear!
For China’s living story I think they’ve said they’ll be at the same place we are, so I’m sure we’ll have some sort of cutscene to catch people up on the story to date since S1 won’t be in the journal yet.
the only time I crash at Karka queen is when I forget to turn down my settings. Looks like total crap but I don’t crash, so that’s something at least.
The tanning rack one is the first level of the Huntsman.
The ones with the potions are artificer.
These are all screenshots from the Chinese GW2. Each one shows the progression of the back item but I don’t know how it all works on their end. I personally don’t like all of them, but I do think it’s an awesome concept. It would be neat if each iteration unlocked at a certain level of each crafting profession.
Think of it this way.
If you jump into a comic book series when the current issue is at Issue no. 4 you don’t automatically get Issues 1-3 for free. You will have to purchase the previous issues to catch up on the story.
This should apply to any new accounts created anytime after the season starts as well as those created before but people were unable to log in for a few minutes to “record” the episode.
Looking over the LS season 2 blurb I spotted this “Past episodes will be available for purchase for 200 gems”
Does this mean if we want to reply any LS content we need to pay for it in gems? Is it an unlock a chapter forever fee for every account or is it character bound? If we pay for a chapter can we team with people who haven’t?
Personally, not sure how I feel about this move. To me it seems to step over the ‘morality line’ and move GW2 to a payment model I don’t really like..
Hmm
If you log in during the release window of an episode (e.g. two weeks) you unlock the episode for your account. You can replay it as many times as you want for free. If you miss the release window and you want to play an episode that you didn’t unlock, you can purchase it.
It’s a lot like watching television in that you can watch (and record) an episode for free when it airs. If you miss it, you can buy the episode off iTunes later. Does that make sense?
Except you’re playing it, not purchasing it. You can watch it for free again using your DVR.
You log into the game to “record the story on your DVR” so you can play it again for free.
If you forget to set your DVR (by logging in to capture the content) you can’t get that show for free anymore.
No, under the On Demand menu of my DVR for free. Or streaming over the internet. The point is, we don’t need to purchase and own it.
You’re paying a monthly sub fee for your On Demand menu content, that isn’t free. Guild Wars has no monthly sub fee so if you miss the episode when it airs then you need to purchase the show and you then have forever access to it.
Streaming over the internet by and large violates copyright (depending on the content provider, local laws, etc) and we’re not talking about pirating the episodes.
To get the content for free, log in once during the time the content is available and you have forever access to it. You don’t even have to do anything except log in. It’s easy.

I have no idea how these are earned but I’d love to have these available to us as well.
Can you imagine a Norn Ranger with Bear form, with the Bear backpack and a bear pet and a bear mini pet. >.>
But seriously, those are awesome back items and I’d love to have those as options for us as well!
I think it has more to do with the fact that there is a difference between attack animations and actual skill animations. In the case of barrage the projectiles leaving the bow are classified as attacks and as such are affected by the particle effects, whereas the projectiles hitting the ground are classified as the animation for the actual skill.
According to the logic of the OP, if a necro equips Meteorlogicus and uses Grasping Dead we should no longer see hands springing from the ground. Instead we should see smoke and electricity or some other effects that detract from the actual skill animation.
The last thing I would ever want to do is defend this company, but what people fail to understand is that some level of readability has to exist for these skills.
I completely agree, some level of readability does need to be maintained for the skills. And that does make sense on the skill animation versus skill type.
It took me a couple of months to get 250 giant eyes. A couple of my guildmates helped by donating an eye here and there but mostly I’d do dungeons, play the game, farm for gold and every night put in a buy order for however many I could afford. The fact that the eyes only come from heavy moldy bags makes the price stupid high and they’re hard to get. I don’t even want to think about how much I spent on getting eyes, but it was worth it to me.
I want the crafting profession back items that China got! http://imgur.com/a/e4D2e
And racial back item skins would be amazing too!
The first thing I did was shoot off an arrow and murder some poor defenseless creature (and the daily was ambient slayer! Go me!) I then proceeded to drop barrage, expecting a bunch of golden arrows sticking out of the ground at the very least and man was I disappointed.
It took me a while to make Kudzu as well and I would love to at least have some flowers included in the barrage even if it isn’t a full on arrows are flowers like the other skills.
However, the reason Barrage arrows aren’t different is because they’re not technically a projectile as the other skills are. It is an AoE skill. Barrage cannot be reflected back at you so the projectile change for our legendary does not apply.
Side note: reflecting unicorns back at the source is hilarious…..as is the throwing unicorns for the downed skill. XD
It would destroy the TP market for minis. So I think it’s a rather bad idea. I’d rather have them add a slot to your hero pannel where you can equip them.
I don’t much care about the market but a slot to equip them would be most excellent.
I don’t have high hopes that this will work very well for me… Currently if I go to my hero story panel it only recorded about half of my personal story. Even though i’ve completed all of it, if I attempt to scroll down past half way it freaks out and crashes my game… It has been this way since launch.
Hopefully the redesign fixes this or I won’t be able to earn those fancy achievements since I won’t be able to get to the replay button.
In principal I think it is a good idea, but Anet is pretty good at taking good ideas and crushing them into oblivion.
Sounds like you either have a problem with your computer or you need to repair the client….I"m leaning towards computer issue. I’ve never heard anyone having a similar issue.
Your second picture shows you know the recipe for the leggings, but you were asking about the shoulders….
Do you have the recipe for the shoulders? You can’t discover the recipe for the shoulders, it is purely learned through consuming the recipe.
You’re all talking about potions and doing work to get those items, but it required no work on my effort. Am I not thinking about the same thing? I have a devil horns skin…
They’re talking about the Selfish & Selfless Potions you could get for 250 Lost Heirlooms + 10 Gold during the attack on Lion’s Arch events.
The only reason I didn’t get the horns/halo before was because I thought it was a waste of gold. I got enough of the lost heirlooms to get at least three of them but just wasn’t worth the gold. If I could get the potion without the gold sink I might have gotten one.
My real helm devil horns are way more awesome than the tonic ones because I can dye them and they’re a helm. :P
seems like i get exotics about 2-3% of the time from random drops/lootbags…
Where do you normally play? That is probably 100x the drop rates for exotics for most players.
I would have to agree there. I maybe see 1-2 exotic drops a month. >.<
Let me help with formatting here…
Ascalonian Catacombs
- Spider Queen now correctly sprays deadly poison regardless of player range.
Twilight Arbor
- Malrona’s Poison Volley is no longer considered a projectile and cannot be reflected
Sorrow’s Embrace
- Dredge Carrier spawns various enemies at different stages of health
- Champion Golem [names] have grown tired of standing in one place and now move around while attacking
- Champion Dredge can no longer be pulled by guardian Greatsword 5
- Tazza’s champion has grown tired of being left behind and now follows Tazza if she leaves the room.
Crucible of Eternity
- Golem [name?] now moves around during the fight
Edit: got to love when a post is deleted before you finish replying >.<
The most imbalanced NPC in the game is a toss up between Sieran and Owain. Though I’m pretty sure that Owain being completely off her rocker makes her win hands down.
