Frostgorge Sound Train IS NOT RUINED come visit Tarnished Coast for North America. You can get a lot of karma + coins + and Champion Boxes and way, way, way better than WvW Karma Trains. Champions: Fish, Kodan, and Norn spawn after you killed Wurm, Drake, (Quaggan), and Troll three times.
Basically, the new rotation we figured out is: Wurm, Drake, (Quaggan), Troll (add Ooze if you want) – 3 times, and Trio (Fish, Kodan, Norn) – and restart. FGS Train is more profitable than it is before. With Karma rewards you can purchase and open Lost Orrian Jewelry Boxes for gold.

OOH, Where is the Ooze? Don’t ever remember seeing that one!

Easier way to think about the new rotation is that it stays exactly the same but you skip the trio every other time. And you can easily get the quaggan every time now too!

And YES! More karma rewards too!! I can see putting down a MF and Karma bonfire now for FG train….still not as good as the Karma in EoTM, but still fun

One of the earliest ideas thrown around was “server specific borderlands”, in keeping with the theme of the server. It never happened.

I would love this. I personally don’t care if each map is tactically the same….and really you should have some sort of “home advantage” on your own borderland. This is your home map and you should know all the nooks and crannies of your homeland better than an enemy territory.

Keep them all the same size with the same number of camps, towers and keeps, skillpoints, etc but for each world having their own special landscape would be epic and awesome.

No they won’t be. There’s a dev post somewhere that addresses this. Simply due to the sheer volume of the work required for that, they simply can’t unlock such items.

There are a few that would require hardly any, such as most event items since the vast majority of them either have achievements you get the item from or achievements you get from getting the item.

The only thing i deleted that bums be out are the mad king books from the first Halloween event. Accidentally deleted em when cleaning out my bank not to long ago.

Sure, it might be hardly any to check and restore for one person, or even half a dozen. But 100s? Possibly a 1000 or more? We don’t know how many accounts are active, how many have what levels of achievements, how many have which skins in need of being restored. Etc. Would take quite a bit to try to encompass all the potential possibilities. That takes man power, processing power, and time. All of which cost $$.

Its just simpler for them to draw the line at if you deleted it, you’re sort of out of luck. It sucks, but they do have to draw the line somewhere.

All they need to do is add a check in the system for achievements and if you have an achievement tied to a piece of gear it would unlock the skin. No one said anything about going through everyone’s provide by hand and unlocking it for people who have the right achievements.

It is unfortunately more complex than that to write the code to do a check for that in the achievements.

While I personally haven’t deleted any of the achievement skins I know those that have and I’m hoping that maybe at some point achievement skins can get added to the wardrobe for people who earned them but for whatever reason no longer have them.

As far as transmuted items, think of it this way…If you had used a transmutation splitter on your item you will get the skin of the items you would receive by using the splitter. The skin for the item appearance and the skin for the item stats. Any other transmute along the way that skin is lost to the ether and you’ll have to re-acquire it if possible.

1- Your world association will be based on your participation throughout the tournament. If you play on multiple worlds during the tournament, the world you represented the most will be the one with which you are associated.

2- You’ll be locked out of WvW for two weeks after transferring….

3- You should probably pick a server and stick with it….and get your Meta and take what your server earns while you PvE to your heart’s content as it seems you don’t actually care about your server community.

The tournament isn’t to get the most points, it’s about server pride and fighting to keep your enemy down at all costs! It is still anyone’s game and the season isn’t decided yet.

The upgrade component removers are still in the gem store. I’ve had to buy some for my husband and I get get items off of karma items. That’s what you will need to do too.

In the video they said that it is an ACCOUNT unlock not character. so 10g seems reasonable to me.

Edit: and it’s just the new ones added, old ones will remain unlocked for everyone.

So, getting a weapon with a new skin and then tossing it away gives you the skin?

Destroy as in : right click on item “destroy” and the item disappears but you unlock the skin. You’d use this option for karma items that you cannot salvage or sell to a vendor.

No, you have to equip/bind, destroy or salvage the item to unlock the skin.

I have no idea why you’re talking about town clothes when they’re being taken away anyway. You’ll get tonics. Only head slot town clothes will even be relevant to charges.

which is a shame, in a way they are cheating the ones who bought town clothing.
they should ether refund some gems to equalize their worth or make sure the town clothing isn’t a tonic but a model/skin just like every other armor you see.

I’ll tell you what. All of my town clothes that is converted to tonics will be refunded.

you might think you got your gems back but what really happens is that you lost what you bought, they just return what you spend on them.

It may be a loss in your eyes and for many many others. The fact is that when they made the mix and match town clothing pieces they didn’t make them with being used in conjunction with armor. As town clothes are basically a 4th class of armor the mixing and match items really don’t work properly with the other armor sets. And while some armors do still clip with other sets in the same weight class, there is a whole different set of problems with using the mix and match town clothes items with armor.

Getting back on topic though, I’m happy to get 5 more extra transmutation charges to play with. I’ll get quite a few from the PvP ranks and the transmutation crystals/stones I have but with 11 characters (so far), I’m quite happy to get more charges!

I have 11 80s as well (husband is up to 15 now)…..but shouldn’t need to screenshot anything really. Just need to log in each character to unlock their skins and dyes, and go to the PvP lobby too in order to unlock those skins.

Just be sure to use any glory you have now and use up as much of the PvP crafting materials as you can because that stuff is going away completely.

No idea what the OP is going on about…. I put in lots of buy orders for Giant eyes, usually about 20-50 eyes at a time….I always went up quite a bit more than the highest buyer because I hate playing trading post PvP and got really tired of being outbid by 1c here and there and everywhere.

I’ve finished all of the monthly categories (not PvP) and wonder if I get to do monthlies again after the patch….

Wow!! That is a whole lot of characters o.o I would eventually like to have three of each race (one per weight class) but the OP has a whole amount of dedication that I don’t. And I thought my husband was crazy for having 15 level 80 asura…..I can’t imagine doing that with more than 20 or so.

I just want the matchups and final rankings to be fair to all servers involved. Any one server should not be punished in final rankings because they were up against tougher competition for most of the season.

I have all of the living story items…every last one of them…sitting in my bank. I’m not worried about getting it all OMGNow, it’s a long term goal ;P

Probably the fused weapons are going to be harder to get and I may have to settle for not having all of the first halloween skins (eventhough I want them).

That works for the EU gold league because there are 9 teams……NA Gold only has 6 teams and so it looks like TC and JQ are getting the shaft.

Expect the JQ and SoS constantly swap places as long as TC finishes 2nd. TC/JQ can at best finish 3rd or 5th in the 7 week tournament. Due to TC/JQ having 4 tier 1 match-ups and SoS winning 4 tier 2 match-ups. A 6 server league is not the best format for a swiss tournament, but the 9 server leagues will be more interesting.

Yeah, that’s what I was afraid of….. so there is a high chance that SoS will be 2nd overall despite them not actually being better than TC/JQ.

Very unfair tournament…..and I don’t like it one bit. Coming in 3rd to BG & JQ, that’s fine, but coming in 5th behind other servers who get placed higher because they have easier matches….just not right.

Well as I nearly have the dye collection complete already, might as well give myself a goal of completing the wardrobe too! And yes, I know it’s going to be crazy expensive….especially all the T3 armors, but it’s a long term goal

So they’ve said that the matchups are “Swiss style” but it’s not a true swiss style match because the first grouping should have been completely random which would have allowed the top three teams an easy win for their first game….but with the Gold League there wouldn’t have been enough groups to have three separate matchups allowing the 1, 2, & 3 ranked servers to all get a first place.

According to Swiss style rules, after this week Sea of Sorrows, Jade Quarry and Tarnished Coast will all have 6 points, only two of those servers can be placed against Blackgate and as JQ and SoS will both have one first place in the tournament those two servers should be against Blackgate. Thus Tarnished Coast will be matched against Maguuma and Dragonbrand.

If Tarnished Coast gets stuck with Blackgate again next week, then there is something horribly amiss in the tournament match placements and either I have found all the wrong information regarding how “Swiss” style works or we’re not at all using “swiss” style.

I just don’t want my server being punished in the final rankings because we were stuck with the harder competition the entire time.

So can someone please explain how these matchups are actually determined? (Though I guess I can wait until reset tonight to see who we get)

Now that we have a wardrobe coming I actually want to purchase that skin to unlock it. I wasn’t willing to pay 400gems for each piece for a one time use and not knowing who I would want them on, but the new wardrobe system I will likely be buying more of the gemstore skins!

Maybe they can put all of the skins back in the gem store for a few days once the patch hits so people like me can fill out their collection.

If you feel like you need some of the gemstore items without ponying up the gems, try out key farming. The devs have directly said (I’m not gonna look it up, so disbelieive if you want) that key farming is fine.

Keys also drop in the open world….though very rarely. It would be cool though if say the Champion Spider queen had a chance to drop the mini of her. Likewise for other champs that are minis. As far as the other things, We get plenty of that through map completion.

When my loot drops get really REALLY bad I’ve started to just log in, do dailies and then do something else. I love this game but the loot drops suck for those of us that aren’t lucky like Vol…..I really hate how some people get everything.

That begs the question of whether or not you’re even working on your magic find bonus. Mine’s at roughly 130% after no more than a month and a half. Not to mention if I’m going around hitting up the lootstick events, I’m running a magic find booster, a laureate magic find booster, omnomberry bars (the highest % non-boon MF food), a guild magic find banner, and a heroes banner. And if I really wanted to go balls to the walls, I’d pop the karma/laureate karma and laureate gold boosters. After all that, it puts me at something close to 300% MF.

When I run temple chains, I’m looting an average of 30-40 heavy moldy bags an event. This doesnt touch on exotic gilded coffers or other misc gear drops that typically get salvaged mid-run to save room.

Absolutely I am…..When MF gear was a thing I ran full MF gear + MF infusion, my base account MF is 152% and after my normal boosts I’m over 300% MF and even with that zergging in WvW or the Champ train in Frostgorge or any other large event my loot tends towards blues and greens, maybe 2-3 rares and sometime once or twice a month I might get an exotic drop. Maybe, if that.

Because of my crap drops even with MF well up there it really makes me think that there is something somewhere in the system that screws with the drops of certain accounts. That or MF is a placebo.

Major: Boon Duration
Minor: Healing Power
Minor: Vitality/Power/Precision/Toughness (one of these)

Really anything with lots more boon duration would be nice. The extra healing power would be great too.

Condi classes would be great with a set like:

Condi Duration
Condi Damage
and Vitality/Power/Precision/Toughness (one of these)

Or revamp ascended armor to include the 4 stat combos you can get with trinkets. It would make getting ascended armor more viable and wanted.

I have some of the tokens but not enough of the dust to craft anything >.< too bad the stuff is accountbound.

I’d be all for removing the trifling amount of silver for event success if they raised the karma and set the coin drops from mobs to 1c-5 silver per kill. Why 1c and not 0? Because it’d be nice to regularly get something from killing a mob even if it is just 1 copper. Either that or set the drop rate to be 0-5 silver on a kill and make it slightly more common to get funds from killing a mob. This would make the gold on kill infusion more desirable and the karma infusion nicer to have as well.

Maybe they’ll boost the karma for a successful event a tiny bit? Yeah probably not.

The little downsides like this I’m willing to take for all the other awesome stuff coming.

The one case against making unid dyes being account bound is the Gift of Color.

You can still buy them with Laurels….I doubt they’ll change that and as such you’ll still be able to make the gift of color.

For most of my characters I’ve stuck with one stat set, I’ll happily carry around mulptiple sets for different stats.

This is brilliant, I love and and I want it now.

You’ll only get the stat switching on the real legendaries.

Also, I hear bragging school has an opening you’d fit in nicely there.

Coolness overload. I have almost every dye (except for the special event ones) unlocked on my old main and was sad to switch because of dyes but OMG yes.

The skins being unlocked is going to save me so much bank space too.

One question though:
Some skins I’d gotten I’d sent to the PvP locker to free up bank space (like the consortium ship in a bottle focus)….how do I get that into my skin locker? Are the two being merged?

After working my tail off since pre-launch to be able to make two legendaries myself I’m pretty disgusted at them just giving away a legendary weapon.

After reading your posts on this matter, it disgusts me that you’re on the same server, I’d be happy to personally educate you in the skill difference between Wv3 and PvP any time.

After thinking about it, Yes this is a good reward and deserved. Pre-congrats to those PvPers who win. Enjoy your free legendary or gold you get from selling it.

My first posts on this were done out of my passion for this game and my frustration with the loot system. I hate so very VERY much how one person can throw 4 random rares and get a precusor on the first try and someone else like me plays for thousands of hours, throws countless numbers of items in the forge and gets nothing but crap.

I personally think PvP is ruining the PvE experience because a whole lot of the skill balancing is done with PvP in mind and not what PvErs have to deal with. PvP “mobs” are not huge bags of health so what does it matter if crit damage is changed or conditions are nerfed. “What’s good for PvP is good for everyone.” is not true….but I expect this sort of attitude from this part of the forums.
