Around Lyssa you’ll find Sparks AND Vet Air elementals. If Dwayna is contested only the vets have a chance to drop lodestones. If Lyssa and Dwayna are both open then all elementals around Lyssa have the chance to drop lodestones. It is possible you were killing Sparks around Lyssa while Dwayna was contested which means you have no chance at getting lodestones.

However, if both were open and you were still not getting drops….RNG is RNG.

They’re really good for monthly masterwork crafter.

How do you know they’re “bots” and not people just doing an event.

If your language is set to something other than English in the game it is likely people don’t see your chat at all due to the language filters that are on by default. Or they have chat turned off, or they really just want to do the event.

Just because people seemingly ignore chat does not make them a “bot”.

I like the defend events personally. I’d rather defend Lyssa that fight her again any day. I hate fighting Lyssa and her stupid 40 second long Corrupted Gaze that even if you stun break and manage to attack her, she’s still immune to damage.

Better solution, make the traits unlock for defend events as well.

There already is…via email – I’ve used it several times when logging in whilst travelling.

Hmm, that’s true. So I guess it’s people with lax security with their email being the bigger issue and not using the two factor authentication (which is awesome to have).

It would be nice if we could collectively assist Anet in combatting the hopscotch merchants but it is as if they’re sticking their heads in the sand and pretending as if hopscotch messages don’t exist.

And no matter how many times the merchant messages are blocked & reported, that still doesn’t solve the immediate issue of the constant bombardment.

I know they can’t force people to use secure passwords and keep their login information secure but there should be some type of lockout in place if the game recognizes you logging in from a different location.

Rift for example will let you log in from a new computer but you’re required to unlock access to your bank, guild bank, messaging, etc. before you can do anything. This would be a good solution to help protect accounts that are not as secure as they should be.

Realize that the portal shown in the teaser may be the OTHER SIDE of the portal so we’ll never find one that matches something on this side that we can see.

There is some convoluted set of requirements for lodestones to drop.

Im on Tarnished Coast and ran into this today. Guesting did fix it, but it was still annoying, especialy sicne the first server i guested to, Ferguson’s Crossing, was also bugged. Luckily the one on crystal Desert went fine.

On a side not, when i got back to Tarnished Coast, she wasn’t bugged. But that could be because now, she appears as I have completed it so…there you go.

Bug:

Alexandra was hostile even though no one was doing the event, and i couldn’t talk to her to start the event. Tried to kill her, and her health just went right back up to full over and over again.

EXACTLY the same with me except I guested to Blackgate. When I got back after guesting she was no longer hostile and the event was complete.

True and there are people who have chat off completely, map chat off, say chat off or just don’t read what’s there in the first place….but better option than nothing at all. :P

One Queen Jennah mini was fine, multiples were not. Unless we have a Mystic Forge recipe I’m unaware of that can use them!

Put a Mini Queen Jenna in with a Mini Logan Thackery and you’ll get a Mini Dead Snaff.

Can’t you still get those as drops (or from some other method) during the Tequatl event that happens several times a day? Unless the original method to get the item gets removed, I doubt they will provide a MUCH easier method to obtain the item (that DOES lessen the exclusivity of the item).

I am not saying A.Net shouldn’t change the drop rates (it would be nice but won’t happen), but since many people are not doing the LS because the general drops are low, the amount of this item will remain low and the price high (BECAUSE PEOPLE WANT IT). Also, if they changed the drop rate to make it more available, people would be complaining because it is supposed to be a unique item and everyone has it now. You can’t have it both ways although many on this forum would like to (mainly blame A.Net for everything).

It doesn’t matter if it is the ugliest skin in the game, if it is unique and rare there will be a subset of the game population willing to pay ungodly amounts of gold just to say they have it and you don’t.

People are clamoring for this item not just because of how it looks but because it is rare.

Too rare in my opinion. It should not be rarer to get than a precursor…for a RECIPE.

I hate “exclusive” items that are only such because of a stupidly low drop rate. Exclusive as in hard to EARN is ok….this is not okay.

I too miss the free skins. I just got my 16k achievement chest and it felt very lackluster. I’d love a little box with a random assortment of 5-6 skins from throughout the game….throw in some of the now removed PvP skins and (almost) everyone is happy

I personally would like:

Festival tokens into the wallet and let festival tokens drop during all major festivals. (Zephyr Sanctum, Queen Jubilee, Dragon Bash, Halloween, Wintersday, SAB, others?)

Token vendor offerings would change according to the event and not be available in between events.

If you somehow still have a sclerite claim ticket, yes the vendor in Southsun is still there. They’re removing those skins from the Black Lion Weapon person.

Edit: Why haven’t you used the claim ticket yet?? I would have killed to get one when they were available. That whole consortium crate mess broke my heart.

I just don’t understand why the existing town clothes didn’t get converted to outfits….even if they were randomly given extra pieces to make it a full outfit. At least he default town clothes should have been an outfit!

Mix & Match I’m happy to give up if it means usable in combat.

Ok, I just want to look at this from a wee different angle for a second. Junk is classic. It’s a nod to the genre. I mean they took away quests and exclamation marks, I can’t make a corpse run anymore, I might not miss some of these things, but this goes along the same lines as replacing your plain sword with a shiny one, maybe one with flames. Deeply rooted into the genre. Every Hero since 1876 picked up junk and some vendor gave him copper in return.

@khani I really don’t want dungeon armor dropping in dungeons instead of being buyable for tokens. What that means is that on average, you’ll probably have to run the dungeon the same number of times as you would now, but you just have no idea when you’re going to get drop. Not fun.

I really want to love this game but the loot really kills it for me. It is beautiful, well made and the team is always trying their best to improve balance and quality of life…but yet despite all of the wonderful changes that have come to us, still at the heart of the problem with the game is loot and rewards.

I love the story, the lore, gameplay, the new boss mechanics they keep introducing, but there are no rewards that make doing the content worthwhile.

The open world loot is lackluster and an insult to the beautiful game that is Guild Wars 2.

Where is Professor Yakington’s descendant collecting the “trash” grey items in exchange for a gift or something special. Where is the epicness that should be dungeon loot? Why don’t dungeon armor & weapons drop IN THE DUNGEON?

People shouldn’t feel like they’re forced to do dungeons because that’s the quickest way to get 1 gold. I shouldn’t feel like the most rewarding game play is running in a circle killing champs or EoTM. I don’t WANT to run in circles doing the same thing over & over again. I DO want nice drops from playing the game.

I don’t play Trading Post Wars because it’s futile for me. Some people enjoy the speculating, buy low, sell high…not me. You keep adding gold sinks into the game to deal with the people who have tonnes of gold due to playing the market, but they’re busy playing the market and those of us playing the game are getting poorer & poorer.

I am sick and tired of seeing new people coming into the game and without any effort on their part, without trying BOOM a precursor drops into their lap. Yet people like my husband and me have been playing the game every day since Beta, working towards finding a precursor in every aspect of the game and nothing but utter crap. My husband finally got tired of being angry at the game for being crapped on with the utterly horrible drops that he’s quit (for a while, forever, don’t know)….and if nothing happens then I might follow him.

And there are countless others like me who just slink off into the nothingness without saying a word because Guild Wars is becoming GOLD Wars. Something needs to happen to make the game feel rewarding or more people like me are just going to fade away and the only people who will stay are those that are the lucky ones who get the good loot….until it’s their turn to get nothing because the rest of us who have been crapped on since Beta have faded away.

The loot in this game SUCKS. The RNG system is TERRIBLE and I will not now or ever buy gold. And from this point forward I will no longer be buying gems for anything in the gem store because I refuse to support this game that provides terrible rewards to the players.

I hate it because in every other aspect, I love the game.

Fix the loot. Please.

One of the few new things this patch I like are this event and the gathering the charged crystals. Zephyr Sanctum is gorgeous and fun as usual….unlike the mockery of the Crown Pavillion.

Better yet instead of a gold sink to start the event have 6 different NPC commanders to lead the fight on each boss.

The event will only start when enough people are standing with each NPC commander (ala Siegeraizer). The NPC commander will guide the group to each boss but not fight (in order to keep success completely on the players).

Teaches the map group how to split properly, doesn’t require a gold sink and keeps the success of killing the boss on the skill of the players in each group.

Yes, Anet is fully to blame for this situation (and how can they “jack up” the prices when the tickets are using a currency just introduced?) If you want to complain about that, ok….but the price is completely NEW not HIGHER than last year.

Previous price of the tickets was: 20 Silver coin and 15 Watchwork Sprockets.

So the change was from 15 sprockets to 35 festival tokens.

I personally saved my stack and a half from last year and may or may not use them.

You can buy them from a vendor in the center of the pavillion.

Not rumors.

Mobs in the pavillion do not drop anything except festival tokens and gauntlet tickets.
Boss Blitz awards a couple champ bags and a green or two (for the whole meta event..not per boss)

I’m starting to think it’s a sick experiment to see how long we last without loot drops.

PROS

• Cool Boss mechanics, I like that we have to split up to succeed.

CONS

• No loot from mobs in between Boss Blitz besides Gauntlet tickets and festival tokens. I wanted T6 materials. They’re already too hard to get without long hours of farming which is not my favorite activity. Let’s break the economy already… Let’s Occupy the Trading Post! Down with the 1%!
• No XP from kills, which mean: Doesn’t count to daily kills, doesn’t help with stacking sigils, can’t level an alt….just stupid.
• Vets in the arena are more akin to vets in the mists because they take 2-3 people to kill them in any decent amount of time. Why not just label them all Elite so we know what to expect.
• Horrible reward for Boss Blitz…why should I bother beyond my achievements?

Gauntlet

• Thank you for removing the dome and changing the look of the AOE circles. I still haven’t beaten Liadri, but that’s on me not the camera/mechanics.

Zephyr Sanctum

• Hands down the absolute best part of the patch
• Where are the Sun/Wind/Lighting Catcher skins????

I’ll be trying to get the 10 runs of boss blitz but only for the achievement points.
I’ll be working to kill Liadri for the AP and personal gratification. (I had almost 2 stacks of tickets left over from last year)

I’ll be in Zephyr Sanctum having fun if you need me.

It’s gotten so bad that my husband and I have had to go “invisible” just to keep the gold spammers to quit PMing. Every 10 minutes seems downright quiet some days.

I’m still sitting there “Block” “report” for every single one but some days I can’t do anything else with how frequent they are >.<

I use one of my extra mouse buttons for auto loot so I don’t take a troll portal or do anything I don’t mean to.

I hope that I can still get it because I tried up until it went away and saved my tickets in hopes I could get it next go around. Still won’t be easy to get but it should be available for those that can beat her this go round too.
